February 27th, 1986 Hawkins, Indiana

It was awful, I couldn't even wrap my head around the idea of it. When we woke up on Saturday morning Danny Torres the local paperboy threw today's papers.
"Hawkins High School Football Star Dies Last Night!"

My mom was in tears, my stepdad was upset, Kate was balling. I started crying too. It's crazy how life can end in an instant. I wanted to talk with Tanner but I knew she must've been going crazy. Richie kept sending me notes. 'Hey, I miss you' 'Hey are you okay?' Then he was calling but it just pissed me off. 'Are you ignoring me?' 'Y/n?! Hello...' Ughh doesn't he have any idea how insensitive that is. It's always about making out or joking around. It's annoying.

"Y/n! It's Richie again." Kate sighs.

"Don't answer it!" I yell putting my head in to my pillow. I can't deal with him. Or anyone for that matter. I feel like I should talk to Tanner but she's probably with Dustin or Steve. I'll go tomorrow first thing to Dustin's first then Tanner's.

February 28th, 1986 Hawkins, Indiana
I get up early so I can avoid, Richie. I start walking to Dustin's house. I've known him since second grade so he or his mom doesn't care what time I come in.

<<<DING DONG>>>

"Y/n? Come in." He says rubbing his eyes tiredly.

"What happened yesterday?" I asked.

"I don't know, Tanner was reading and I stepped out."

"You left her alone—"

"It was only for a second jeez. Anyways, they pushed Tanner out the room. The machines went off, and then he you know... Tanner dropped to the floor sobbing and kept mumbling that he talked to her but the doctor said it's common for people to say that in her state."

"How did she take it?" I asked.

"I mean, she's in her emotions, also when you see her, please give her the s'mores ice cream in the freezer. She'll need it."

"Will do." I nodded. Then the doorbell rang.

"I got it." Dustin says walking towards the door.

"Hey, Dustin is y/n here?" Richie asks. He looks at me.

'Say no.' I mouth.

"Ahh sorry bud she's not. Did you try Lucas'?" He lies.

"No, I'll try. Thanks." Richie says leaving as Dustin shut the door.

"Thanks Dust." I smile.

"No problem so...what's with you and Richie?" He asked.

"I don't know he's been weird lately."

<<<RING>>>

"Hello...?" Dustin says answering the phone.

"Hey Julie, (heard you got drip, drip, drip;) what's up?...Thanks she's just in the moment...what? Thanks for telling me...sure I'll tell her, bye Julie." Dustin says hanging up.

"What did Julie say?" I asked.

"She wanted to say her condolences and she thought Tanner was here. She also said we have no school til Wednesday." Dustin said.

"Alright thanks. I'm gonna take that ice cream to Tanner's." I said packing up. 

"Later y/n." Dustin says. I walk quickly to Tanner's house trying to keep the ice cream from melting and to avoid Richie. I knock on the door and a man with blonde-whiteish hair answers.

"Hello I'm Tom, Alexandra's and Benjamin's father. You must be y/n. Please come in."

"I'm sorry, Alexandra?"

"Oh, she probably told you she goes by Tamryn. It's her birth name and so is Liam. When they were adopted their names were changed." I nodded along.

"Also my condolences." I said.

"Thank you, you'll find her in room. Tell Alexandra I'll be at the office. Good day y/n." He said smiling and walking out the door. His son died yesterday, and he was going to work and smiling.

Weird.

"Tanner?" I called knocking on her door.

"Y/n?" She said in a small voice.

"Yeah," She answered voice cracking. I entered her room and saw her crying underneath the sheets.

"Can I come in?" I asked softly. She sniffles and nods a 'yes'.

"Tanner...I'm really sorry. I know it's a lot right now but I'm always here." I comforted as we hugged.

"He was the only one I had left. My p-parents are d-dead. It was a-always Li and I." She cries.

"You have your dad—" I started.

"He doesn't even care. He doesn't ever fucking care. He never once visited Liam in the hospital. He acted as if Liam didn't exist. Liam was always there. He always put everyone before himself. Always." She rants.

"I'm sorry but I'll always be here and so is Dustin and El, Max, Kate and my mom. I think everyone." I said as she let out a laugh.

"Thanks y/n." She smiled.

"No Tanner. Your always there for everyone, this isn't justice compared to all the times you were there for me. Anyways Dustin brought you ice cream." I said passing her the bowl.

"Can we watch movies all day?" I asked pleading with puppy eyes.

"Anything for you." I say grabbing the remote.

Sorry everything's been slow, I'm graduating in June and my dad is pissing me off over tickets. Also my little brother....where do I start? He's a premie so his lungs and eyes aren't developed yet. He also has problems with his movement, he does move or cry much. Sorry for ranting, it's been bs for a minute. Also I got in that school I applied for! Hope you guys are doing well. Trust me in my notes a couple chapters the losers are coming! Love y'all!
