ย  ย ย  Huffing and puffing, Sage paced her father's living room, making everyone nervousแ…ณ but she couldn't sit down like everyone else and keep her cool. Not while her stupid younger sister thought she had to play mind games with her.

For once Sage wanted to enjoy her peace, the time with Happy and Violet. It could've been so perfect now with the news. The pregnancy was unexpected, but both were happy to become parents again and to be able to see Violet grow up with a sibling.

Everything was perfect at the moment and of course, as if it was her fucking mission in life, Fawn had to ruin everything while she was supposed to be in jail.

"Sweetie, can you please sit down", Tig asked, his voice laced with tiredness as he rubbed his exhausted face. "You're making me nervous."

"Oh me?" Sage snorted a bitter laugh, stopping in her tracks. "I'm making you nervous? Your other daughter should make you nervous."

"Sage, you know what I mean." Tig examined his daughter, who seemed more irritated than usual. It took a lot to get Sage so worked up.

"Sage, sit down." A low growl rattled through Happy's throat before he grabbed his wife's wrist and pulled her onto the well-used couch next to him. "Stop getting so worked up, it's not good for you."

"Great, now you all tell me what to do", Sage huffed offendedly, her arms crossed over her chest as she let herself fall back into the soft cushion with a scoff, her gaze landing on Ima as she held Violet in her lap. "Are you at least on my side? Or am I making you nervous too?"

"Sage, we're all on your side", the blonde emphasized with sympathy reflecting in her blue eyes as she slowly bounced the leg Violet was sitting on up and down, making the one-year-old giggle.

Seeing Violet laugh, which was actually the most beautiful thing in the world, caused Sage to burst into tears out of nowhere, completely confusing, and worrying, everyone in the room except for Happy. But the thought that maybe even Violet was in danger was just getting on Sage's last nerve.

"Hey, what's wrong with you, kid?" Tig rose from his seat and a moment later crouched down in front of Sage, who was just swatting Happy's hand away as he tried to rest it on her leg to comfort her. "Why do you think we're not on your side? We just don't know what to do right now. But Fawn can't hurt you, baby, she's in prison and you're here with us."

"Bullshit! If she can call to threaten me, she must've accomplices too", the blonde choked out, rubbing the back of her hand over her nose as tears streamed down her face. "What if she's in contact with someone out here, huh? What if someoneแ…ณ if someone hurts Violetแ…ณ"

She couldn't finish her sentence, the sobs keeping her from being able to form words. Seeing her mother like that made Violet cry too, causing Happy to immediately take her from Ima with a sigh and carried her across the room to calm his daughter.

As he came to a stop behind Sage, he placed a hand on her shoulder. This time she didn't slap it away.

"No one will come anywhere near Violet, little girl. And anyone who tries will have to get past me first", he croaked, sounding deadly serious while menace was clear in his tone. "Do you trust me? Us?"

Sniffling almost hysterically, the blonde nodded hastily, her curls bouncing as she did so. "Of course I trust you, I'm just scared. A quiet, peaceful life without Fawnแ…ณ that's all I fuckin' wanted."

"And it'll stay that way", Tig assured her, patting her knee as he tilted his head to the side. "But that's not all, is it? You don't normally lose your nerves so quickly."

After another moment of sobbing and sniffling, Sage looked at Happy who nodded his head. "Tell him."

โ€œTell me what?โ€ Tig's eyebrows shot up in curiosity.

"I'm pregnant", Sage murmured through her tears, the slightest smile crossing her face as she watched Tig's and Ima's mouths drop open and the room fill with more positive energy again. "You're going to be a grandpa again."

"No shit?" For a moment, Tig even forgot the other problem when he heard the good news. News that they all needed right now. "That's wonderful, sweetie", he glanced up at Happy, whose otherwise stoic face had a proud grin on it.

"How far along are you?" Ima asked excitedly, her hands clapped together in front of her chin.

"Only nine weeks, so not far",ย  Sage explained after drying her tears and putting her hands between her knees, smiling weakly. "But everything looks good. The heartbeat was visible, but unfortunately you only hear it from the twelfth week onwards."

The group looked up as the front door opened, everyone alert and ready to react, although Sage in particular let out a sigh of relief when only Dawn walked into the living room, keys still in her hand.

The oldest Trager frowned at the group skeptically after pushing her sunglasses onto her head, her shoulder length wavy hair now pushed out of her face.

"Uh, why are you all making such faces?", she asked, not sure whether there was joy, fear or uncertainty in the eyes of those presentแ…ณ in any case, everyone seemed tense and pleased at the same time.

"Fawn called", Sage murmured with a deep sigh, massaging her temples.

Dawn, completely outraged, let out a snort. She immediately plopped down next to Sage. "The bitch did what?!"

"Threatened her", Happy seethed with a huff, handing Violet to Dawn who held out her arms to her niece. "That means we have to be careful. Nobody knows how she got a cell or whether she has help from outside. So Sage won't be alone for the time being."

"I swear I'll strangle her", Dawn growled as she protectively cradled Violet against her chest. "And no, of course Sage won't be alone for nowแ…ณ nor will Violet."

"What happens now?" Ima asked cautiously, kneading her hands nervously. "I mean, especially now that Sage is pregnant, maybe she shouldแ…ณ"

Holding up her hand, Dawn silenced the blonde before staring at her sister with her mouth open before a grin formed on her lips. "So the tests we got were positive?"

"Yes, all of them." Grinning, Sage leaned forward, her elbows resting on her knees. "I just didn't want to tell anyone until we were sure if the tests were correct. But we saw the gyn today and I'm definitely pregnant."

"I fuckin' knew it", Dawn snickered, wiggling her eyebrows before she threw one of her arms around Sage's shoulder, pulling her sister close while she held Violet on her other arm. "Seems like you're giving Dad enough grandkidsแ…ณ means I can stay single and continue being the cool aunt."

Happy flashed his sister-in-law an inviting grin. "But not cooler than us, not that our kids only want to stay at their aunt's."

"Oh please", Dawn paused, snorting a laugh as she let her gaze fall on her babbling niece. "I'll be much cooler than your parents, right?"

"Everyone is cooler than their own parents, especially their grandparents", Tig chimed in with a grin, back to sitting next to Ima again, his arm around her shoulder.

The blonde grimaced, wrinkling her nose. "Did you just call me a grandma?"

"Yes, yes he did", Dawn replied with an eager nod, a teasing grin playing on her lips. "That's what happens when you pick a guy who's almost thirty years older than you."

"Iแ…ณ", the blonde was about to protest, yet changed her mind and just lifted her hands in surrender, letting a soft laugh escape her throat. "Okay yeah, you're probably right."

"Don't worry, I'll tell Violet and little Peanut in there to just call you Ima", Sage winked at her eventual future stepmotherแ…ณ who would probably be more supportive than her own mother. "But now back to the topic. What happens now?"

"A lot." With a grunt, Happy walked around the couch so he could sit next to his wife, placed his elbows on his knees and ran his hands over his face. "We'll head to the clubhouse, you give Juice your phone and I'll talk to the guys about what happens next."

"And then what?" Dawn asked curiously, rocking Violet in her arms. "A lockdown? Visit Fawn to find out what she's up to? Hire someone in prison to wring her neck?"

"I'm for the latter", Sage murmured with a shrug, snuggling against Happy and her sister as she sat perfectly in the middle. "At least then we would have a peaceful life."

"I wanna do it", Happy grunted, loving the thought of using his bare hands to strangle Fawn.

"In case you missed somethingแ…ณ you're not a chick and can't get in there", Dawn winked cheekily at him, catching a glare from him that made her chuckle. "I'm just saying."

"Such a smartass today, huh?", the Killer grumbled under his breath, yet the slightest grin was tugging on the right corner of his mouth. "I want her dead, that's for sure."

Ima, noticing Tig's muscles tensing, placed a hand on his leg, an almost apologetic expression on her face. "I see it like everyone elseแ…ณ I'm sorry, baby."

"No, it's okay." Tig ran his hand over his mustache, trying to keep his facade up. "That would be the only logical solution. Fawn seems to have learned nothing during her time in prisonแ…ณ then she'll have to face the consequences."

The room became quiet as the others noticed that Tig still couldn't easily say those words out loud. Sage and Dawn, as much as they had come to despise Fawn, understood the emotional state their father was currently in.

"Letโ€™s wait and see if Juice finds something and what the others think, then we'll see what happens next", Sage suggested impartially.

"We will, little girl", Happy rasped, proud of how well his wife handled the situation, even if her hormones sometimes made it harder for her. "But one thing is for sureแ…ณ you don't go anywhere alone, do you hear me?"

"No, of course not", Sage promised, her green eyes locked with Happy's dark ones. "I'm not stupid enough to risk putting Violet or the baby in danger."

"Good, you're still at the beginning and should take it easyแ…ณ and that's exactly what you'll do from now on. Leave the rest to us", Tig said, which was definitely an order and not a question.

"Yes daddy", Sage shot him her most innocent smile, although the sincerity in her eyes showed that she was grateful for all the support.

แš”

When she finally arrived home, Violet sleeping on her arm, the blonde rubbed her eyes, not caring if her mascara would smudge. No one would see it anyway, and she wanted to take a quick shower anyway before Happy came home.

Jax wanted to get to the bottom of the problem and do more research, although Happy of course wanted to stick around, after all, this was about his family that had to be protected.

But of course, as discussed, he didn't send Sage home alone and told the Prospect to stay parked right in front of the house until he would be back. The Prospect wasn't allowed to leave the property for a second and had to call immediately if he noticed even the slightest change.

Sage was quite happy that the prospect was waiting outside. Not that she had a problem with him, not at all. But it was late, Violet was already asleep and after a long shower she just wanted to sit on the couch and switch through the programs and treat herself some ice cream until Happy would come home. Without him she couldn't fall asleep anyway.

As quietly as possible, she placed the keys on the dresser, kicked her Converse sneakers off her feet, and placed a gentle kiss on Violet's red curls as she made her way to her room, where she froze in the doorway before she even turned on the light.

The light from the hallway was enough to reveal Fawn's silhouette, and the streetlight from outside shone perfectly through the window and shone onto the nursing chair in which Fawn sat cross-legged. Fawn's hand rested on the armrest, holding a gun, her sister's finger already near the trigger.

"Put her down", the youngest Trager sister ordered, pointing her gun at the crib, her voice cold and lacking in empathy. "And then you do exactly what I say if you don't want to lose another child."

Sage's breath bitches in her throat and her heart stopped beating for a moment. The threat caused immense anger to bubble up within Sage, but she had to be smart now. "Fawn, we can talk about anythingแ…ณ"

"Shut the fuck up!" Fawn's raised voice caused Sage to flinch and jolted Violet from her sleep, immediately causing her to cry. "I told you to put her down! And then you do what I say."

Tears stung in Sage's green eyes, fear crawling into her bones as Fawn jumped up and stormed towards her. Sage reflexively backed away until she felt the wall pressing against her back and protected Violet's head with her hand.

"Stay away from my baby", Sage spat, all of her built-up anger towards Fawn coming back to the surface. "Because if you even look at her the wrong way, I'll fucking kill youแ…ณ for real this time."

With a hysterical snort, Fawn wiped her sniffling nose before laughing dryly. "Just lay her down, Sage, and nothing will happenแ…ณ not to her."

Sage's body shook with rage, but she saw the insanity in Fawn's eyes, something ruthless, desperate. She knew that Fawn was ready to use every means possible to get her old life back.

So she walked past Fawn, with unsteady steps, her eyes always on her sister to make sure Fawn wouldn't do anything stupid. She once again pressed a kiss to a crying Violet's forehead before turning around and holding out her arms to the side.

"And what now?", Sage asked dryly, already seeing her end flashing before her eyes. But she wouldn't leave without a fight, not without at least trying to survive.

Fawn's head whipped to the side as there was a demanding knock on the door, soon revealing the prospect's concerned voice asking if everything was okay.

"Well, what did you expect? If you call me from prison, do you think Happy will leave me alone for even a second?" Sage slowly stepped toward Fawn, then, with one quick move, she twisted Fawn's hand and knocked the gun out her hand.

"You fucking bitch!" Fawn shook her wrist painfully, freezing as she felt the cold steel against her temple, then she laughed. It was a bone chilling laugh. "What do you wanna do, huh? Kill me?"

"Yes, but first I want to know what you're doing here, how you can even be out here andแ…ณ", Sage was interrupted after a loud bang echoedย  through the house and a moment later the Prospect frantically rushed into the nursery after kicking in the front door.

The fear was written all over his face, but if she were him, Sage would be just as scared. If something would happen to her, if even one hair was missing, Happy would beat the living shit out of himแ…ณ and no one really wanted to experience that.

"Shit! I'll call Happy", he mumbled, visibly shaken as he fished his phone out of his pocket with shaky hands.

"Hey, calm down, you better take Violet and try to calm her down", Sage urged him, her tone soothing. Was the guy actually more nervous than her? Sighing, she shook her head before looking back at Fawn, an indifferent smile on her lips. "Now sit your ass down and talk or I'll blow your brains out."

"You're learning, you're becoming more ruthless. Are you slowly becoming like me? A similar hair color you already have", Fawn stated with a smug grin, then she snorted with contempt, but did as Sage said and let Sage lead her into the living room.

"I'll never be like you, Fawn. Before that happens, I'd rather put a bullet between my eyes", Sage snarled, pressing the cold steel with more aggression against her sister's temple. "Now talk."

Oh, this would be fun.
