As Sage tried to keep up with Tig, who was furiously walking down the street towards Jax' house, Happy was also a lot faster than her. For a moment she felt like her lungs were collapsing, and the two men weren't even running. Even though she wasn't smoking at the moment, it was probably a result of years of nicotine consumption.

"Dad!" With a groan she finally reached the two men and grabbed the sleeve of Happy's hoodie that he wore under his Kutte and Tig's shirt. "Can't we try to handle this peacefully?", she asked with a sigh while fighting the morning sickness.

After she and Happy stopped by at Tig's earlier and told him about the problems with Fawn yesterday, Tig's patience finally seemed to have run out. Which is why he immediately set off for the Teller house and since the house he shared with Ima was only five minutes away, he did so without his bike.

"No, Sage." Tig put his hands on his hips, his head tilted to the side. "Enough is enough. Fawn has played queen long enough. This shit needs to end and I don't care that she's my daughter."

"I know", Sage agreed to calm her father down. "Still, it becomes a lot more stressful if we pay too much attention to her dramatic shit."

"We have to do something, Sage", Happy's raspy voice sounded from next to her, placing his hand on her lower back. "We have to find a solution before this bullshit escalates completely. I won't let her threaten my family and let her get away with it."

Cursing under her breath, the redhead rubbed her temples and closed her eyes. "That's not what I wanted to achieve when I came back. I just wanted you to know about the pregnancy and not start a war."

"You didn't start a war, that was all Fawn, baby",ย  Tig said with a shrug before turning back on his heel. "And we're putting an end to that now."

"Come on", Happy ordered with a grunt as he draped an arm over her shoulder and gently dragged her along the rest of the way to Jax' house, casually ignoring her whining. "We know what we're doing, little girl."

"Uh huh", she muttered, not sure if that was true when it came to this topic.

Sighing, she snuggled deeper into Happy's side while Tig banged on the door and all three waited until someone finally opened it. When that happened, Tig pushed past his complaining daughter without any greeting.

Sage involuntarily followed Happy inside as well, whose arm was no longer around her shoulder, but instead he held her hand to give her some support, which she definitely needed right now.

"What are you doing here?" Fawn asked after slamming the door and following everyone into the kitchen. Her angry gaze flickered to Sage. "Haven't you done enough damage already? Let me guess, now you're turning Dad against me too."

The redhead snorted a bitter laugh. Fawn really had some nerve. "I didn't do shit. You put yourself in the situation. And as if you ever cared about Dad or any of us."

Sage ignored the bad feeling that washed over her as she unintentionally let her eyes wander around the kitchen. Nothing had changed in the years she had been gone. Everything, except for a few small things, still looked the same.

"What's goin' on here?" Jax entered the kitchen with an indefinable scowl and reached for the pack of cigarettes on the table. "Keep your voices down, Hayley is still asleep."

โ€œWhat the fuck do we care?โ€ Happy's slightly narrowed, dark eyes bore into Jax. "Doesn't look like you put your Ol' Lady in her place. As you should've."

And by that he didn't mean violence. If there was one thing Happy didn't support, it was violence against womenแ…ณ except they were a threat. Or violence against children. That was a big no. But it seemed like Fawn still had a big mouth that she wouldn't have had if Jax would've told her that shit didn't work that way.

The blonde raised an eyebrow as he lit his cigarette and slowly let the smoke pass his lips after he sat down. With a motion of his hand he offered the others a seat.

Reluctantly, the rest of the small group sat down. Fawn next to Jax, Sage next to Happy opposite them and Tig at the head of the table.

"What Fawn did wasn't okay, and it won't happen again", Jax began, being immediately interrupted by Happy.

โ€œAnd who says we can rely on that?โ€, he asked sternly. "Because next time she lays her hands on Sage, I'll take care of it."

"Don't threaten my Old Lady, Hap", Jax warned, though he then let out a sigh. "I don't want any problems at my club, not because of something like this. Fawn will stay at home most of the time from now on."

Fawn, however, wasn't exactly happy that Jax didn't stick by her. Offended, she crossed her arms and stared at her husband. "And why should I? I only lost my shit because of you! Don't make me look like the bad one!"

"Fawn!" Tig's cutting tone reached his youngest daughter who looked at him in shock.

Sage was also taken off guard for a second . She had never heard Tig talk to any of them like that before. When there was a moment when the girls ever needed to be scolded, it was usually their mom who did it because Tig was too soft for his daughters.

"What?", the dark blonde suddenly asked meekly, shrinking a little in her chair. "I just wanted to point it out. I'm not the only bad guy here."

"But you threatened Sage. She's your sister, damn it. And she's pregnant." The disappointment was written all over Tig's face. "Why can't you finally act like a sister for once, Fawn?"

Fawn took a defensive pose, gasping for air. "Oh but it's okay that she might steal my husband in the future?"

"Why the hell do you think I would want that?" Now it was Sage who raised her voice in exasperation. "I love Happy, and if that's not enough for you, then that's not my problem. Jax cheated on me, you're welcome to keep having him. Just to remind you, Fawnแ…ณ you are the one stealing boyfriends, not me."

Silence fell over them, and Sage fell back against the chair with a deep sigh. "Fact is that I'm staying here, anything else wouldn't be fair to Happy."

Happy put his hand on Sage's leg, noticing how exhausted she suddenly seemed. "I don't want to have to constantly worry about whether my Old Lady is safe in the clubhouse. It's my club too, and she has just as much of a right to be there as Fawn."

"And she's my daughter, another reason she's allowed to be there", Tig added, his gaze still serious and stony as he looked at his youngest daughter. "Everyone loves Sage, only you seem to have a problem with her. You heard her, she doesn't want Jax. Get that in your head, Fawn."

Fawn slowly ran her tongue over her teeth before nodding, still pouting. "I fought for Jax and tried really hard to become his Old Lady, to get his attention. And I'm not letting anyone ruin that again."

"What do you mean by that?" Sage's scrutinizing gaze scanned her sister. Something smelled suspicious and the redhead suddenly had an uneasy feeling in the pit of her stomach but she couldn't tell why.

Fawn gritted her teeth. How could she let her emotions get the better of her and risk Sage and the rest finding out the lengths she went to even get Jax' attention?

"Nothing", she answered quickly. "It just wasn't easy to distract Jax from all the grief he was feeling after the miscarriage. I didn't know if he would stay with me. That's what I meant."

"Oh please." Sage snorted sadly. "He seems to have recovered quickly from that. After all, you were pregnant six months later."

"Sage." Jax now surprisingly gentle gaze landed on the redhead, who looked at him reluctantly. Sighing, he put out his cigarette in the ashtray. "I don't know how to make up for the mistakes I made back then, but you could at least let me try."

Just as Sage was about to say something, Fawn interrupted her in a shrill voice. "See, that's what I mean! And I'm not supposed to get jealous?"

"What the hell, Fawn?!" Jax's head whipped to the side to look at his wife. "Just because I want to make up for my mistakes doesn't mean I want Sage back. Is a little trust in me too much to ask for?"

Okay, old feelings he had for Sage were there, he couldn't deny that. But he had to think about his club and his own family. He had been lying awake the last few nights, barely getting any sleep while his thoughts were spinning.

Yes, he had thought about making his move on Sage and risking his marriage to Fawn. But that would not only destroy his marriage, but also his relationship with one of his best men. After all, it was obvious that Happy felt the same way about Sage.

Knowing that Sage was happy with one of his brothers and was also pregnant, he had to start coming to terms with it. If he wanted to keep his family and his club, he would've to live with it.

And the least he could do for Sage after what he had done to her was to grant her happinessแ…ณ and save what could still be saved from his own marriage. For Hayley.

"Who tells me I can trust you?" Fawn's eyes filled with tears, causing everyone except Jax to roll their eyes.

Fawn was always best at being dramatic, but everyone could tell that she was just trying to get her way. Those weren't real tears. Except for Jax, who just seemed tired of Fawn's strenuous behavior.

If so many things hadn't happened between them, Sage would almost feel sorry for her ex.

"I guess you'll just have to trust me on that", the blonde replied, sighing. "But that's something we'll discuss alone."

"So, will this all work out? Can I be sure this won't happen again?" Tig asked impatiently, exchanging a look with Fawn and Jax. "You two should accept that Sage and Happy are expecting a child and now seem to be officially together. Can you do that?"

"I can", Jax answered without hesitation, looking at Happy, his gaze sincere. "I won't risk the peace in my club because of a woman and private matters. You are one of my best men and I value your loyaltyแ…ณ even if Sage was my Old Lady and she is actually a taboo for other members, I'm the last person allowed to say something. Not after what I did."

Not that Happy asked for Jax' blessing, but he nodded appreciatively anyway. "Good, because Sage is now a part of me. It wasn't planned but it is what it isแ…ณ and I don't think anyone has a problem with it."

"No, everyone will be happy for you", Tig said confidently. In that case, no one would care about the Old Lady rule. "And so am I. Sage deserves to be happy and I know she's in good hands with Hap."

"Thanks Dad", Sage said with a small smile, appreciating his support. "I didn't plan this to get back at Jax or Fawn, my plan wasn't to ever come backแ…ณ but things happened and I wouldn't want to change it."

At her words, Happy squeezed her thigh appreciatively, giving a soft grunt that made her smile. Then she looked at her sister, who looked less than thrilled but at least kept her mouth shut.

"Don't ever threaten me again, Fawn", she said calmly but with a warning tone, her green eyes staring into Fawn's blue ones. "And especially not my baby. If you have a problem talk to me, but in a normal way like any other normal person."

"Just stay out of my way and I won't have a problem", Fawn countered, still acting like a pouting toddler who was denied chocolate. "And stay away from Jaxแ…ณ he's mine and I don't want anyone to get hurt again."

I don't want anyone to get hurt again, Fawn's words replayed in Sage's mind, adding to the already weird feeling she had.

There was a squeaking noise as the chair dragged across the floor as Fawn got up with force and left the kitchen, Tig close behind her to have another serious word alone with his youngest daughter.

"I'm sorry", Jax apologized with a sigh for Fawn's behavior before standing up himself when Hayley called for her parents. "I'll talk to her again", he looked between the two of them. "Sage is welcome at the club at any time, she's family. By the way, we'll have church later", he let Happy know.

The couple watched the blonde walking down the hallway and shortly after, Hayley's cries stopped.

With a grunt, Happy rubbed his face. So much drama early in the morning was clearly getting on his nerves, but the problems just needed to be cleared up and he really hoped that Jax had meant his words.

"Are you okay?", he asked the redhead, whose tense posture he had noticed the whole time.

"Yeah..I'm fine." Sage quickly waved her hand but let out a sigh. "I just can't shake the feeling that Fawn is hiding something. Did you notice her strange behavior for a moment before after she said she doesn't want anyone to get hurt again? And that it took a lot to get Jax' attention?"

"Yeah", Happy nodded curtly. He didn't miss Fawn's sudden change of mood either. "You think there could be something behind this?"

"Honestly? I have no idea", Sage sighed. "But I don't care. That's a thing of the past and I really don't want to live in the past but rather look forward to the future."

"That's how it should be, little girl", Happy remarked seriously before pulling her closer to kiss her.

With a pleasant sigh, Sage leaned into the kiss and placed her hand on his, which was still on her leg. "Feels good that we can do this in front of everyone now."

"Mhmm. Everyone should know who you belong to", he rasped with a grin before he became silent for a moment, looking at her intensely. "You really did something with me, Sage."

An immediate smile crossed Sage's face. She knew this was Happy's way of telling her how much she meant to him. Even though she couldn't wait to hear those three famous words from him, it meant just as much to her.

"Let's go, I think Dad will be here for a while", Sage said as the heated discussion between father and daughter got louder while Jax came into the kitchen with Hayley sitting on his hip.

Happy just nodded slightly, stood up and pulled her to her feet, slapping Jax' shoulder as he walked past him. "We're leaving. Can you let Tig know we're waiting at the clubhouse?"

"Yeah, sure", Jax nodded, actually able to be happy for Sage and Happy for the first time when he watched Happy drape his arm over Sage's shoulder.

"Congrats to you bothแ…ณ I mean it. And I hope that someday we can just get back to talking normally to each other", the last words were directed at Sage as he prepared Hayley's breakfast while the two year old made cute noises, her tiny hand getting lost in Jax' beard as she tried to pull on it.

Before she could stop it, a smile formed on Sage's lips at the sight. Her niece was cute, she couldn't deny that. Nevertheless, she would continue to keep her distance. However, she couldn't wait to see Happy and their child together.

She lifted her shoulders, tensing up. "I can't promise anything, Jax. But as long as we can treat each other like adults, it's progress."

"Probably, yes", he agreed with a wistful smile. He had to accept that she would probably never be able to forgive him. "See you guys later."

Happy simply grunted in response before walking out of the house with Sage. He hoped that the fighting would stop at some point so that Sage could feel comfortable hereแ…ณ so there was a chance that she would stay here permanently because she wanted to and not just to please him.

authors note; Fawn definitely carries a little secret with her but it'll take a while until that one comes out!

Another thing I wanted to clarify; I wanted to make Jax and Fawn the villains of this story but I don't think it would make much sense if Jax would risk loosing Happy and his club over a woman he actually cared about once. So, I kinda let him come to his senses, lol. But Fawn will stay a really complicated character.

And, the most important thing; I just wanted to say thank you for all the support for this story. I don't think I ever got this many comments on any of my Happy stories and it honestly makes me so happy and keeps me so motivated. ๐Ÿฅบ๐Ÿฅฐ
