one day
I wasn't the only student early

it was one of those days where
I was watching through a window

I watched the downpour
of raindrops staining the ground
the flowers drooping down

some part of me wanted to stand out there
and let the cold drops splatter against me

to let the chill of liquid warm me
that doesn't make sense

I don't make sense

then I saw a boy
walking around the school too
with earphones in
and a small smile on his face

I stayed in my spot
near the window

he saw me
my face stayed expressionless

but his smile
it became slightly wider

before carrying on
walking further away from me.
