chapter two
{WARNING: may have some slight cursing, but other than that you're good}
(The first couple chapters aren't gonna be based from the show as I'm trying to build up, and sorta get through what happened in California)
Third Person's POV
It's been a couple of hours since Georgie and Natalie had that fight, as he came home pissed and didn't talk to anyone. So when Mary tried talking to Georgie about what happened, she took it out of context. So when Georgie said 'Natalie', she immediately got excited and then hurried to the phone and called Robert (Natalie's grandfather). Within an hour, Natalie was at the Cooper's for dinner.
Georgie was in his room reading a magazine of Axl Rose from Guns N Roses. When his mother came to his room and knocked on the door. "What?" He asked, not knowing it was his mother that was on the other end.
"Watch your attitude. Two, because Natalie is here." Mary says as Georgie rolls his eyes as his mother hasn't noticed.
"Why, is she here anyway?" Georgie asked, feeling hurt and disappointed in who he thought was his best friend.
"She moved back, and this is a way of talking to her," Mary says as Georgie still hasn't seen the point of her being here.
"Okay, and?" Georgie asked as his mother gave him a look.
"You are going to be civil to that girl, whether you like it or not," Mary warns him as once again Georgie rolls his eyes as he gets up.
"Fine, happy," Georgie says as he passes his mother just then someone rings the doorbell.
"She's here!" Missy says from the living room as she's watching a TV show. Mary hurries to the front door and opens it, revealing Natalie.
"Hi, Mary," Natalie says with a small smile as Mary steps aside, letting Natalie in.
"How are you, sweetie?" Mary asked as Natalie shrugged her shoulders.
"Not bad. Though it would be nice if someone acknowledged me and said hi." She says snarkily as she passes Georgie and he shakes his head.
"Why, should I in the first place? You lied to me." Georgie says as Mary sighs, wanting to change the subject.
"Well, sorry, if my mom wanted not to stay with my abusive father. She looked out for the safety of her daughter, so sorry if I left you." She says to him as Missy and Sheldon exchange wary looks for once he doesn't say anything. Which is probably a good thing, for now.
"Whatever, I'll eat after you leave," Georgie says before leaving, making Natalie sigh as she looks around.
"Um...house still looks the same." She says as she sits in Georgie's spot at the table and she scoops some food onto her plate.
Mary gives her an awkward smile as no one was expecting Georgie to be like that, but then again, they expected it to happen.
"What happened between you two?" Mary asked as Natalie started picking at her food as Natalie was avoiding eye contact.
"Hate to be rude, but can someone change the subject other than me and Georgie, please," Natalie says as Mary nods her head.
"Why?" Sheldon asked as Natalie gave him a look but didn't say anything as Mary also gave him a look.
"Sheldon, Natalie said she doesn't wanna talk about it, so drop it." Mary scolded him as Sheldon looked at his mother.
"Why?" Sheldon asked again which made Natalie snap at him.
"Because she said do, now drop it!" She exclaimed to him which made the whole house silent, before she sat back down, and looked at Mary. "Sorry, maybe me being here isn't a good idea." She adds.
"It's because it isn't!" Georgie shouted from his room which made Natalie's eye start twitching meaning she was about to snap.
"Look, I appreciate you guys wanting to chit-chat, but it's not a good idea, especially when someone hates me right now," Natalie says to Mary, even though some of it is directed at Georgie.
"You sure?" Mary asked her as she got up. "Want me to get some containers for you?" Mary adds as Natalie thinks about it before shaking her head.
"My Papa is making dinner, so I gotta go and make sure he doesn't burn anything," Natalie says as just then George Sr walked in the house from his meeting with the coaches.
"Hey, Natalie." He says which made the girl give him a weak smile, as she wasn't in the mood to be smiling.
Just then she walked out of the door without another word and she went in the direction of her house, and when she got to the house her Grandpa was in the backyard as he's on the grill tonight.
Florence (Natalie's Grandmother) was on the couch crocheting a blanket for Natalie's Uncle Charles, which is fine. When the door slammed and a livid Natalie came through the door it was enough to scare you. Especially if you hadn't seen it coming. When Florence turned around and saw her granddaughter and how she didn't even acknowledge her, she knew that something happened at the Coopers. So for now, she wasn't gonna go talk to her granddaughter, which is probably for the better, as Natalie isn't one to talk about her emotions, especially when she's mad like this.

When Natalie calmed down more, she tried calling Georgie on the phone but of course, he wasn't answering, if he was, it was him telling her to leave him alone. After a while of trying to call Georgie and talk about this, she eventually gave up doing it. She knows why he's like this because he wasn't told the truth, but that doesn't mean that shutting her from his life is okay. She regrets not telling Georgie what happened, and the real reason why she had to move to California when she was nine.
Natalie tried calling again but then when she was about to give up, someone answered. It wasn't Georgie, it was Mary.
"Hi, Nat. What's up?" Mary asked as Natalie sighed.
"Listen um, would it bother you to um get Georgie I just want him to listen as I talk. He doesn't have to say anything." Natalie says as Mary nods her head and looks behind her as Georgie grabs something from the fridge.
"Georgie, I know you don't like Natalie right now, but can you just listen to what she has to say," Mary says despite everything he nods his head before walking to the phone where Natalie is waiting.
Natalie heard shuffling on the other end and some breathing so that meant that Georgie was there.
"What?" Georgie asked Natalie who had prepared a speech and hopefully, it would be enough for Georgie to forgive her.
"Look, I know you hate my guts right now, but just okay. The reason why, I had to leave was because of my father, as he was a drunken bitch who would rather spend his time at work or the bars. I didn't want to tell you the truth for the longest time, I know I could have called you over the years but I'm so fucking sorry, but that doesn't mean that you can shut me out of your life. The reason I called was in an efforts that you'd forgive me and give me a second chance. I will do anything for that second chance." Natalie explains to Georgie.
He listened to every word that she said as he took it all in. He let the words sink in as Natalie held in a breath.
"I forgive you. I'm sorry for blocking you out." Georgie says as Natalie lets out a sigh of relief when she hears those words. "New rule: do not keep secrets between us, forever. Okay?"
Natalie let out a small chuckle at what he said. "That works for me. I'm sorry, I really am." Natalie says as for once that entire day, Georgie has a smile on his face.
"It's fine, trust me." Georgie says as Natalie shakes her head.
"No, it's not at least to me. Is there anyway I can make it up to you?" Natalie asked, with a small hopeful look on her face, despite them being on the phone.
"Yeah, come by my place and then we can go." Georgie says to her.
"But you don't know how to drive." Natalie states to him as he playfully rolled his eyes at her.
"Whatever, you comin' or not." Georgie says and before he finished, the line went dead. "That worked."
"So how did it go? Does she still hate your guts?" Missy asked him as he gives her a look.
"Why do you care?" Georgie asked Missy stuck out her tongue.
"So....?" Mary asked him as he nods his head. "That's good. You goin' somewhere?" She asked.
"Yeah, she wants to make it up to me." Georgie says, before heading to his room, and grabbing his saved money that he had over the years. He pulled out a couple dollars, and grabbing a jacket as it's a little cold outside.
"Okay, don't be out too late." Mary says from the living room, as Georgie saluted her.
"Noted." He says to his mother as he heads out the door waiting for Natalie.
Within minutes of waiting she finally arrived as she had her beloved skateboard, that she never leaves behind. She's had it since she was eight, and Georgie hasn't seen her without it. They talked at the ice cream shop about her life in California as Georgie just let her talk and yap about this and that. But he was happy to be back to normal, or at least how they used to be.
It was a good way to end his night, was with Natalie.
