Cordelia could have been...should have been just as perfect and admired and pristine as the rest of her perfect and admired and pristine family. She was taught manners and etiquette and rules and social skills at an age far too young to be considered normal. She could have been the perfect daughter, just like the rest of them. She decided to be honest instead. Looking back, Lia was sure her family had the same ambitions and tug at their heartstrings for adventure and escape as she did, they just didn't do it, they stayed in a safe space.
She wanted...no, she needed freedom. Every constraint that was placed upon her made her only yearn for escape more and she was willing to work as hard as necessary to obtain the wild and free life she desired. She knows what she wants and works her ass off to get it. Her perseverance is what will be the cause of her triumph, as she very rarely, if ever, gives up. This translates into arguments and the like, where she is stubborn and hotheaded as anything...that is in her personal life. When they're discussions that matter, she is cunning and calculating. She may live with her head in the clouds but she can come down whenever she pleases.
She works vigourously towards her goals, so much so that she will sometimes end up greatly sleep-deprived.
Lia is smart. No no, I don't think you quite get it when I say she is smart, she is genius level smart. This isn't just because she naturally is intelligent, though that attributes to alot of it, she works her ass off all the time. She was a conscientious pupil in every library, believing that if she wanted to get anywhere in life she needed to work hard for it. She always does things to the upmost standard, never doing anything in half measures. Additional work? Pile it on. Anything she could do to further herself, she would do it. Alot of this is due to her curious nature and thirst for knowledge she possesses. She is tactical, observant and very good at solving problems and discrepancies.
As she observes, forming new connections and ideas, she won't hold her tongue- she's excited about her findings, and shares them with anyone who'll listen.
Aswell as her daring escapades out of her bedroom window and into the world, she is a natural explorer of interpersonal connections and philosophy, but this backfires when what needs to be done is that needlepoint sitting right infront of her. She likes English and history and art, studies of the heart and the soul in their metaphorical forms, not their physical. It's hard for her to maintain interest as tasks drift towards routine, administrative matters, and away from broader concepts.
She'd like to travel the world and study poetry and prose in a grand university and write and meet people and live. People forget years but they will always remember moments.
When she is not able to live life the way she desires however, she retreats into fiction, into the imaginary. She is...she is dancing in a ballroom, watching Elizabeth Bennett fall in love, Satan cursing his creator in Paradise lost and the creature doing the same thing in Frankenstein, she is in the Lady of the Lake, Shelley, Austen, Coleridge, Wordsworth, Shakespeare...you name it, she has pictured stories in her head, made her own. If you place her in a disengaging atmosphere then she will check out pretty quickly.
She sometimes takes for granted that she's lucky, given that many wouldn't have the funds or even the ability to think about these dreams above all other issues but she can't help desiring more from life.
She hates the constricted, structured life that her status has given her. Cordelia loathes being micromanaged by her parents and restrained by heavy-handed rules - she wants to be seen as a highly independent master of her own fate, even a possessor of an altruistic wisdom that goes beyond draconian law. The challenge for her is that she lives in a world of checks and balances, pointed politeness and expectations, a pill she is not happy to swallow. Trust me, many people have tried to quell her messy adventurous spirit.
Cordelia has her own brand of stubborn recklessness. Sometimes, especially when she was younger, she would break a rule on purpose infront of her mother or teachers just to see what they would do. See how far she could push. That's how she ended up sneaking out so much. She didnt think it would be so easy the first time but all of the sudden she was running full speed through the towns, moon high in the sky. Her habit of doing things just to see if she could has never gone away.
Many believe she is careless about her life, because of her tendency to jump into danger willingly. Its not carelessness alone, but paired with her curiosity its hazardous. She is very playful and competitive. She'd jump off a cliff so she could say she survived it and to know what it felt like. Lia has great athletic prowess which, coupled with her competitive streak, makes her formidable. Oh yes, any form of competition like debates or board games or races causes her to absolutely transform into a bloodthirsty monster.
Intelligent, independent, energetic and determined, she can certainly be felt in any crowd. Really and truly, Cordelia is a young girl who refuses to be robbed of the experiences that come with that title.

β’reading and writing- often at 3am she will climb up to her roof and be armed with some form of book or notebook and pen
β’the outdoors- at any given time, She would rather be outside than in. Especially in summer, she is outside a good 80% of the time
β’summer- best time of year for adventures! Longer days, brighter sun, less school! Plus more of the people at the village are out and about.
β’night- it can be both a calm, contemplative time and a time for absolute chaos, and that's something she can appreciate
β’tea- she has been fed it since she was little and would take it over coffee any day. She doesn't need any extra energy
β’music- she plays piano and guitar(badly, like very basic) but she also follows many singers she hears of in the town
β’meeting new people- you can never have too many friends
β’getting to prove people wrong- when people doubt her, she likes to watch them realize their mistake
β’Good books with bad endings- ooooo this infuriates her wHY WOULD YOU PUT SO MUCH EFFORT INTO A BOOK TO SHIT ON IT AT THE END WHAT THE FUCK WHY-
β’cooking- she is bad and hasn't had the time to be good at it
β’badly played piano sections in orchestras- she doesn't want to hear what she can already do at home herself
β’having othing to do- whenever she isn't doing something she feels like she's procrastinating work she doesn't have.
β’cats- she doesn't trust them
β’the cold- less people wanna do stuff, and she hates the nippy weather. Unless it snows.
β’isolation- it's her biggest fear
β’being told what to do- she may have some...issues with authority.
β’boredom- literally goes against everything she is as a person.
β’rude people or fake nice people- if you're gonna be a bitch, atleast have the guts to let people know.
β’having to stay in one place for too long
