Third Person's POV
{Journey isn't going to be in this episode}

The Ross kids, Jessie and Mira were walking in Central Park seeing that there was booths all up around them. Mira had been sick the past couple days as Jessie forced her to get out of the penthouse which is what she's doing, as she's been cooped up in her room for the past week, sneezing and coughing ever five seconds, at least that's what it feels like to her.

"Okay, so this is where my booth for your school carnival is going to go. I know your mom usually raises a lot of money with her dunking-for-diamonds booth, but I have a sure-fire moneymaker." Jessie says.

"And what game of chance will you be running?" Ravi asked.

"The bottle ring toss!" Jessie said squealing, but she got no reaction from the kids besides Mira sneezing. "Thanks for your reaction Mira."

"What, my ears are ringing!" Mira shouted as Emma rubbed her back comforting.

"Never mind, outside of Mira sneezing I got nothing from you guys. Not even an 'awesome, cool, wow, Jessie, I love you more than anything in the world!"

"Awesome!" Emma says glumly.

"Cool." Ravi says in the same tone.

"Wow!" Zuri says in the same tone but Luke didn't.

"Jessie, I love you more than anyone else in the world!" Luke said, happily but Jessie wasn't too please, as she squeezed Luke's nose. "Ow! Ow! Ow!"

Mira went to laugh but she instead went into a coughing fit, and she groaned.

"Hello, Jessie." Said Agatha which made Mira groan again as Jessie groaned disdainfully as the Ross kids don't like Agatha outside the fact she looks like a witch. Agatha tried to get Jessie fired on her website 'Toddler Tattler' and also saved Jessie's job from her twin sister. But Agatha is a nanny even though she scares kids. "Walking in the park again? I'm surprised someone hasn't scooped you up and put you in a plastic bag."

"Very funny, Hagatha, and what are you doing here? Rooting for truffles?" Jessie asked sarcastically which made the kids snicker and Mira painfully smiling.

"If you must know, I, too, have a booth at the carnival. My new charge, Manfred van Pelkington..." Jessie and the Ross kids beside Mira were making fun of the way Agatha walks behind her. "...is a student at Walden Academy."

"Poor Manny. That explains his twitch." Emma says smiling and chuckling as the kids and Jessie laughed as well.

"And his constant nervous gas." Ravi says making the kids and Jessie laugh.

"Well, maybe the next fundraiser, we could have pay the de9+-brat these children." Agatha sneered at the Ross kids.

"Agatha, random question. Have you ever kept goats from crossing the bridge?" Jessie says as her insult made everyone laugh.

"Ha, ha, ha! You haven't heard the last from me." Agatha sneered before walking away.

"Jessie, if you wanna raise money, just charge people to watch my moves." Luke suggested before dancing a bit, which Mira has always thought was pretty cool.

"Oh...Luke...Okay, be careful." Jessie says, not wanting Luke to hurt himself.

"Please be careful." Mira whispered as she had lost her voice due to her coughing so much for the past week that she's practically lost her voice.

But unfortunately Luke slipped and cried out in pain. "Ow!" Jessie, Ravi, Emma, Zuri and Mira gasped in horror and ran to his aid, as Mira was the closest.

"Luke!" Mira cries out to her best friend even though it hurt to do so.

"I think I dislocated my knee!" Luke exclaims in pain.

"Oh, no! Don't move!" Jessie commands.

"Can I still writhe around in pain?" Luke asked.

"Let me look." Mira says as she lifted up Luke's pant leg and felt around it before she felt the broke bone. "If anything just badly broken your leg." Mira says as Jessie looked up at her.

"How'd you know that?" Jessie asked.

"Because I do." Mira says as she helped Luke up and he swung his arm around her, as she managed to wrap her blanket around his foot sort of like a brace until they get to the penthouse.

Sadly Luke couldn't go to the carnival and was in a wheelchair and a knee cast. He was on the terrace looking through binoculars, looking down at people setting up booths in Central Park. "Hey." Mira says to Luke as she stepped out of the terrace with a plate of food.

Luke turned and saw Mira and smiled a little. "Hey, M." Luke says as Mira handed him the plate of food as Nala had something in her mouth as it was Kenny the Koala. "Thanks, Nala." Luke said as Nala had put Kenny on the ground.

"She wanted to make you feel better, so she kidnapped him." Mira says as Luke knew better as it was Mira's idea to bring Kenny to Luke in efforts to make him feel better.

"Thank you Nala. I feel a little better." Luke says as he pet Nala. "The one chance I get to knock stuff over with a ball without getting grounded, I end up slipping and breaking my foot." Luke says as Mira has a small frown.

"It's okay." She says practically whispering as she still lost her voice.

"How you feeling?" Luke asked her as he took a bite out of the ham sandwich that Mira made.

"Outside of my voice practically gone and I sound like crap. Not bad." Mira says practically whispering.

Luke looked through the binoculars again and saw Officer Petey with a squirrel. Officer Petey isn't the smartest person known to man he barely has one brain cell at least in Mira's opinion, but he's not that bad of a person. Just weird.

"I was checking out people in the Park. Hey, it's Officer Petey." Luke chuckles and looked back in the binoculars. "Aw! He's petting a squirrel. Ooh. Actually, he's patting down a squirrel." Luke adds.

Mira scoffs and says. "Whoa! He is really desperate for his first arrest."

time skip

Mira was helping Luke and she started dozing off, and when Luke hit her foot she jolted awake and nearly fell out of the chair. "What?" Mira asked grumpily much like Bertram.

"That's odd, look at this." Luke says handing Mira the binoculars. "Down there. See that suspicious-looking person sneaking around?" Mira nods her head.

"Yeah." Mira says. "He just hid when Officer Petey came over." Mira adds.

"If he's hiding from a cop, that must been he's a criminal!" Luke exclaims almost in horror, as Mira gives him a look.

"Or, you've been watching too much of crime TV." Mira says looking at Luke who made a face at her for it.

The next day Luke was getting on Mira's nerves by commanding her to get stuff for him and what's worse is that he was ringing a bell as well.

"Mira! Where are you? I'm thirsty!" Luke commands and ringing the bell.

Mira frowned and went on the terrace handing his drink. "Here you go, ding-a-ling." Mira sneered and she puts the bell in the drink.

"Thanks. Now remember, when you're at the carnival, keep an eye out for that shadowy figure we saw last night." Luke says to Mira.

"Don't worry, I'll try to find something." Mira says with a smile, as Mira started walking but Luke stopped her.

"I decided I'm more in an apple juice mood." Luke says holding up his drink.

Mira grabs his glass and says with a smirk. "Coming right up." She says as she then poured the drink over his head.

"Mira! I need a towel!" Luke exclaims and rang the bell.

At the carnival Mira was walking around but she hadn't seen anything out of the ordinary or anything that deemed suspicious Then she got a call on her phone and saw that Luke was calling her.

"What's up?" Mira asked.

"Have you found anything suspicious?" Luke asked.

"No, but the only crime at this carnival is that the cotton candy tastes like insulation." Mira says. "Although Jessie is convinced Agatha sabotaged her ring-toss game." Mira says.

"Wait a minute! Maybe Agatha was the shadowy figure we saw sneaking around last night, and she was messing up Jessie's booth!"  Luke guessed as Mira didn't think that Agatha is capable of doing something like that.

"But, Luke, Agatha is tiny." Mira says.

"She's wearing a clown costume that makes her look like she's about to give birth to clown-tuplets!" Luke says.

Mira began to snicker at the thought of Agatha in a clown costume. "Wait, Agatha's in a clown costume. I gotta see that, Luke, where are you?" Mira asked.

"I'm by Jessie's booth." Luke answered.

"Okay, I'm coming." Mira says as she hung up the call. 

When Mira saw Agatha in a clown costume, she started to laugh hysterically to see Agatha in a clown costume because she is one herself.

"Anyways, should we tell Jessie?" Luke asked.

"Not yet, we need proof." Mira said.

"Keep an eye on Agatha and see if you can catch her doing anything. I mean besides cracking the fun house mirror." Luke says.

"Oh! She's gone! Luke, do you see her?" Mira asked.

With Luke on the terrace he looked through the binoculars and saw a shadowy figure behind a booth. "Yes! I think that's Agatha. But she's not wearing the clown outfit."

"Well, if you were committing a crime would you wear a clown costume?" Mira sassily asked.

"Wait Officer Petey is there, too." Luke says.

"What's going on?" Mira asked.

"Now Petey's walking behind the booth. Now Agatha's grabbing a mallet and following Petey!" Luke says in a panicked voice.

"I don't see anything." Mira says as she went to Jessie's booth and saw the shadowy figure with a body bag.

"Except Agatha dragging a body-shaped bag!" Mira says in a panicked voice into her phone.

Mira ran to a porta potty stall and held her breath for a  minute as she opened the door and exhaled because porta-potties do not smell pretty.

"What do you think is in it?" Mira asked..

"Hmm, let me think. What could be inside a body shaped bag? Maybe a body! Named Officer Petey! Mira you have to follow her!" Luke exclaimed clearly scared.

"Okay first, ow second of all, stop being bossy. I'm doing it." Mira says sarcastically.

"Sorry, will you please follow her?" Luke asked not practically screaming in Mira's ear.

"Yes, I will. Thank you for asking." Mira says as Mira stood in front of the porta-potty and watched the shadowy figure with the body bag and put it in the dumpster. "She just stopped at a dumpster."

Another kid won at Jessie's booth and Jessie was not impressed because she had no more prizes but when the siren went off the shadowy figure turned and it was some body Luke and Mira did not expect.

Mira's eyes widen and she was gobsmacked. "Luke did you see that? The shadowy figure is Bertram!"  Mira exclaimed and from the terrace, Luke was so shocked.

Mira ran to Jessie's booth and she was frantically panicking but was also trying to keep her cool, but it was difficult. "Jessie, come quick! Bertram smacked Petey with a mallet and stuffed him in a bag!" Mira says panicking.

"Okay, that sounds like an awesome booth. I should have done that!" Jessie says as Mira sighs.

"It's not a booth! It's a murder! I saw him dump Petey's body in a dumpster! Just come!" Mira says grabbing Jessie's arm and pulling her from her booth.

"Wait....Ow! Mira? Mira? Okay, that popping noise is my shoulder." Jessie says as Mira pulls Jessie to the dumpster. "Ow! Ow! Ow! Mira! Mira! Mira! Let go of my arm.

Jessie pulled her arm away from Mira's hard grip. "Great! Now I can scratch my knee without bending." Jessie adds..

"Jessie, forget your monkey arm! Officer Petey is nowhere to be seen! You know why? Because his lifeless decaying body is in that dumpster! Now go get it." Mira says.

"Why would I go climb inside a dirty garbage dumpster?" Jessie asked.

Then Mira threw Jessie's phone into the dumpster. "Because your phone is in there." Mira says.

"I just downloaded a new ringtone. Okay, you know what? I'm gonna call Bertram right now and get to the bottom of this." Jessie says as she went to grab Mira's phone but Mira threw her phone to the side. "No you won't."

"I can't believe you just did that!" Jessie exclaimed.

"We are not leaving until this dumpster is searched!" Mira says.

"Fine! Oh, look! Someone threw away all of Taylor Swift's merchandise. Is that Speak Now or Fearless?" Jessie says clearly trying to make Mira go into the dumpster instead of her.

Mira gasped and says in excitement. "Dibs!" Surprisingly Mira fell for it and jumped into the dumpster.

"Hey! There's no TayTay Merchandise in here! All I see is a football signed by Tony Romo!" Mira says from inside the dumber.

"Dibs!" With that, that triggered Jessie to jump into the dumpster as well.

Mira laughed as Jessie said. "I can't believe I fell for that." Jessie says.

"I can't believe we both fell for that." Mira says.

Luke was looking through the binoculars and saw Bertram. "Uh oh!" Luke says as he grabbed his phone and dialed Mira's number. Unfortunately Bertram was somewhere around when the phone rang and he found it in a garbage and answered the phone.

"Mira, Bertram's headed your way! He must know we saw him commit that crime! Get out of there now!" Luke exclaims, panicking.

"Luke is that you?" Bertram says in a dark tone in his voice.

"No, it is Ravi. My best friend is a giant lizard! Yippee!" Luke says impersonating Ravi's Indian voice.

Luke hang up the phone and through the binoculars, Bertram looked up with a glare on his face and Luke realized that he was caught. "Oh no."

Jessie popped up from the dumpster and was covered in dirt and garbage. "Mira, how are you not dirty?" Jessie asked.

"Things just kind of work out for me." She says.

"Okay, I told you, there's nothing in this dumpster, besides my dignity." Jessie says dumbfounded.

"I know what I saw, and I saw Bertram dump a bag in here!" Mira says, getting out of the dumpster.

"Then why didn't we find it?" Jessie asked.

"Maybe because he threw it in that dumpster!" Mira says pointing to the other dumpster with the actual bag sticking out.

"You mean the one with the large bag sticking out?" Jessie asked.

"What are you afraid of it?" Mira asked sarcastically.

"That bag does look disturbingly body-shaped. We should call the police!" Jessie says walking away, but Mira wasn't having it.

"Hello! That was the police!" Mira says.

"Okay, we're being ridiculous! Bertram is way too lazy to murder anyone!" Jessie says..

"There's only one way to find out. Open it." Mira says.

They got closer to the bag and does an exhale and unzipped the half and Mira screamed but ended  up pulling out what seems to be a glass bottle. "Huh?"

"Wait a minute. These are the bottles that were supposed to be in my booth. The wide-neck ones that make it impossible to win." Jessie says but saw Mira's glare. "The...the money was for your school. Don't judge me!" Jessie groaned.

 ✧･ﾟ: *✧･ﾟ:*

Back at the penthouse, Luke kept on pressing the elevator button to open. "Open, open, open, open, open, open, open, open!" The elevator doors opened to reveal Bertram at the entrance to the elevator staring at Luke and that made him to scream. "Close, close, close, close, close!"

"Luke, get back here!" Bertram says walking behind Luke as he was wheeling away as fast as he could.

"No! You'll never get me!"

"We need to talk!"

"Stay away from me!" Luke screams then fell off his chair but once he got to the staircase he was just feeling lazy just by grunting and straining making a fool out of himself.

"What are you doing?" Bertram asked not amused at all.

"Right, now wishing I had done more pull-ups in PE!" Luke says.

Luke pulled out his phone and. "Ah! Quit it!" Bertram says as he doesn't like his picture being taken.

"I saw what you did! You're a monster!" Luke exclaims taking another picture.

"Relax, it's not that big of a deal! Ah! I hate having my picture taken!" Bertram grunts.

"You'll never get away with it!"

"Oh, I will, because I have something here that's gonna shut you up." Bertram says as he opened his jacket but Luke didn't know what Bertram was pulling out so he screamed. "Help! Police!" He rang his bell as Jessie and Mira came out of the elevator. "Jessie! Bertram's trying to kill me like he killed Petey!"

"The only thing Bertram killed was my chance to humiliate Agatha! And, of course raise money for the children." Jessie says disappointed.

"That wasn't a body bag it was a bottle bag! Idiot." Mira says to Luke who was dumbfounded.

"Bertram, how could you sabotage my booth?" Jessie asked as Mira helped Luke back up to his feet.

"Oh, I couldn't help myself!" Bertram says sniffling his nose. "Every year, when I was a kid, I'd spend all of my allowance, all my tooth-fairy money, even all my grandma's good-boy money...trying to win that stupid ring-toss game at the carnival. But I never did, until tonight." Bertram says.

"If your grandma knew about this, she would take away all your good-boy money!" Jessie says.

"I know! But in my defense I really wanted to win that giant panda." Bertram says grinning at the thought.

"Wait, why were you reaching in your jacket for a gun?" Luke asked.

"I wasn't! I was reaching for my wallet, to give you 10 bucks to keep you quiet." Bertram says reaching into his pocket and pulled out his wallet.

"Hold it. There's still one thing I don't understand."

"Math?"

"Science?"

"Bathing?"

"I understand bathing, I just don't wanna do it. Why did you follow Petey with that big mallet?" Luke asked.

"He wanted to impress some girl, so he asked me to give him pointers on the Test Your Strength, game. He never scored higher than 'Little Miss"." Bertram says chuckling.

"So, where is Petey?" Mira asked.

"I'm really sorry, Jessie." Bertram says apologizing.

"Not as sorry as you're gonna be. I gave away half your kitchen utensils as prizes." Jessie says.

"Even my melon baller?" Bertram asked, getting nervous.

Jessie lightly laughs. "It was the first to go."

"Not Mella!" Bertram sobs and screamed wretchedly, removing on part of his jacket off the shoulder. "Mella!"

Jessie came up behind Mira and Luke and covered their eyes. "You kids shouldn't have to see this." 

Mira chuckled at Bertram's behavior.

i'm gonna try to update this book as much as possible, because i love mira and luke's relationship, even if they aren't dating yet.

but they will don't worry.

it will take some time.
