"So, this is the dickhead who screwed you over"
β’Β°β’Β°β’Β°β’Β°β’Β°β’Β°β’Β°β’Β°β’Β°β’Β°β’Β°β’
CASSANDRA'S AND KLAUS'S LIPS MEET WITH URGENCY AS SHE STRADDLES HIS WAIST, soft moans leaving their lips. The younger vampire had to let off some steam after her eventful talk with Elena yesterday. It pissed her off how everyone still fell at her feet and acted like she was innocent. Luckily, Caroline had seen that the girl was nothing more than a whiny, selfish, entitled bitch who doesn't care for anyone but herself. But that didn't mean that the blonde could easily walk away from the group. She still needed to get Bonnie out and she was still getting Intel for Cassandra and the originals on what the gang was up to and planning.
Cassandra just needed to be in his presence because he always lifted her mood. Klaus wasn't complaining when she said she wanted to spend the day with him because he was hoping to get a chance to take her out on a much needed evening out. Just because they were engaged doesn't mean they still can't go on dates. But the two had barely lasted twenty minutes before they were devouring each other, making up for some serious lost time.
Gripping his hair, Cassandra grinds down on his hips as their lips connect roughly with passion. Klaus had his hands all over her body, grabbing whatever he could in order to pull her closer. She moans into his mouth, letting out a little gasp when his hand slides up to her throat, squeezing it lightly. They were kissing like both their lives depended on it, worried that something will continue to happen in habit of breaking them apart. And right on time came a wrecking ball.
"Okay, next time you decide to poke fun at Elena, can you do it when I don't have to hear her complain?" Caroline's voice rings out throughout the house causing Cassandra to pull back from Klaus, her teeth dragging his bottom lip. She raises an eyebrow at the blonde who just now noticed the scene in front of her but payed no mind to it, continuing to walk in and lounge across the entire couch. Klaus still had his hand wrapped around Cassandra's neck as they both breathing heavily, wishing that Caroline had left instead. Seeing that she had no intention of leaving, Cassandra sighs as she turns a little so she is leaning on her fiance's chest.
"Ahh, so you heard." Cassandra speaks up after clearing her throat, Caroline sending a teasing smile. She wasn't sorry about interrupting them, Cassandra could see it on her face. Klaus glances at them both confused, not having any clue what they were talking about.
"Heard what?" He asks with furrowed eyebrows as he continues to rub Cassandra's thigh. She smiles at him, pressing soft kisses to his neck and jaw, hoping it would stop her from bursting out laughing. All she could think about was the faces Elena made and the fact that both Salvatore's were on the verge of breaking.
"She gave Elena a little chat yesterday." Caroline answers as she stares at Klaus's hand long enough for him to remove it from Cassandra's thigh, knowing the blonde wouldn't stop looking at him if he didn't. She gives a satisfied smile before sitting up and turning all of her attention to the raven haired vampire. Caroline loved Klaus, as a friend obviously, there wasn't any denying that but whenever she catches him doing anything of that sort with her best friend, he either removes them or she will throw hands. Caroline knew Klaus wouldn't hurt Cassandra again but it didn't stop her from not allowing him to touch her while she was around, the main reason why she stayed when she saw them making out.
"I was just giving her vampire 101." She lies as she bites her tongue, snuggling up to Klaus even more. Caroline watches the man embrace her as he presses a kiss to her shoulder. The blonde squints her eyes at him before ultimately deciding to leave it alone.
"And bringing Stefan into it was doing what exactly?" Caroline questions as her eyes move directly to the raven haired vampire who laughs, flicking her hair over her shoulder.
"Oh, no that was just fun. So was teasing her about Mr dead history teacher." Cassandra snorts, smirking to herself as she rests her head against her fiance's neck. He had a curious expression on his face as he hadn't known what they were talking about. Cassandra notices his look and only shrugs her shoulders. "You just had to be there." She says as she waves him off, hearing Klaus chuckle into her ear. Caroline shakes her head but she couldn't hide the growing smile on her face. She was sad Alaric died, he had been sucked into this as everyone else had by Elena and the doppleganger was always the one to never end up hurt.
"You cannot expect to have friends if you go around trying to get them killed by hunters." Caroline says bluntly as she stares at the women, raising an eyebrow at her. Cassandra only smirks at her, sending a small wink as she plays with the strands of Klaus's hair.
"I have you. You are all I'll ever need, Care." She says in a dramatic tone, placing her hand on her chest before giggling. Caroline laughs with her, finally getting up from her seat on the couch.
"Bonnie too. She wants to join the group." Caroline says hesitantly, not knowing how either of them will react to it. Bonnie was sincere about wanting to become friends with Cassandra and wasn't going to go down without a fight. They both look at Caroline confused, both equally trying to figure out why the Bennett which would want to be associated with them.
"Doesn't she hate Nik?" Cassandra points out as she gestures to the man sitting next to her. Caroline clears her throat, shrugging her shoulders. Truthfully, Bonnie did hate Klaus but she would learn to tolerate him if it meant having true friends. And maybe she would actually, maybe, potentially, try and become friends with him as well.
"She saved his life." Caroline States as she gives a hopeful smile, wanting to get Bonnie away from Elena but she couldn't just force it upon the couple.
"To save her friends." Klaus says bluntly as he rolls his eyes, not wanting any part of this nonsense. Caroline sighs frustratedly, running her hands through her hair. She knew it would be difficult trying to convince them.
"To save mine and yours." She corrects as she crosses her arms against her chest. Bonnie knew if Klaus died, Caroline would also and she didn't deserve that. She also didn't know what Cassandra's bloodline was so it was also a safety net for the girl.
"I'll think about it." Cassandra admits with a sigh before glancing back at Klaus who was also debating letting the witch on their team. It was good to have her but he didn't know if she'd end up betraying them or not. Caroline watches them, seeing the way the girl pecked his cheek with such a pure smile on his face, earning an actual genuine one from Klaus.
"You guys are so cute." She comments with a huge smile on her face as her eyes flicker between them. Cassandra pulls away, her face turning to stone as she sends a glare the blonde's way. Caroline could tell it was harmless though.
"You did not just call us cute." Cassandra says blatantly, giving her a deadpan look as she shares a glance with Klaus who couldn't help but hold back a smirk. Caroline snorts, crossing her arms against her chest as she gives a smirk.
"Oh sorry, am I hurting your badass vampire egos?" She asks sarcastically as she tilts her head at them. Cassandra only flips her off as she sends a playful eye roll her way. Caroline laughs before deciding to leave them alone, giving one last look to the couple before heading towards the door. Klaus places his chin on Cassandra's shoulder causing her to turn her head in order for them to look at each other. He gives a slight smirk which makes her eyebrows furrow. Suddenly, she is thrown over his shoulders, a squeal escaping her mouth. Klaus laughs as he speeds them up to their bedroom to finish off what they started.
β’Β°β’Β°β’Β°β’Β°β’Β°β’Β°β’Β°β’Β°β’Β°β’Β°β’Β°β’
KLAUS HAD DECIDED TO PUT TYLER ON HOUSE ARREST, the stunt that he pulled needed to be punished. Cassandra was so done with it all though, that she was ready to literally kidnap Klaus if it meant they got to leave. It was like he wasn't even taking her into consideration when deciding to stay. The reason she proposed to him was because she thought he would get them the hell out of Dodge as quick as they could.
But it had been over a week now and there was no sense of improvement. She was sitting on the couch, bored out of her mind, half of her body lounges over Klaus. Her hands were rubbing his shoulders, her lips meeting the skin of his jaw every couple minutes. They were sitting in a comfortable silence as commotion could be heard throughout the house but they payed no mind to it. "Nik, can we please leave now." She pleads as she pecks his lips. Klaus allows her to kiss him for a few seconds before meeting her eyes, shaking his head. Cassandra let's out a breath, knowing it wouldn't be easy to just ask him.
"Not yet, love. Still need to find out what that hunter is doing in town." He tells her as he taps her ass a few times signalling for her to stand up. Cassandra does as she is told but doesn't move too much away from him as she wanted to convince him to just leave everything alone. There was nothing coming for them at the moment so it was the perfect time to escape.
"Who cares." She groans as she rolls her eyes, not really wanting to stick around enough to give the hunter a chance to kill her. Cassandra didn't even know why Klaus was so interested in the first place. "We'll be long gone by the time he starts killing people." Cassandra adds as she crosses her arms across her chest. She was getting suspicious of his true intentions for staying in Mystic Falls, partially making her worried for their relationship. "Are you sure there's no other reason?" She asks in an accusing tone, wanting to know the whole truth but it didn't seem that Klaus was ever going to give that to her. His eyes meet hers, a deep sigh leaving his lips as he bites the inside of his cheek.
"Tyler needs to learn his lesson, you know this." Klaus says in a soft tone as he rubs her hand with his thumb. Cassandra wanted to slap some sense into him but there was too much stupidity in his head for that to happen.
"I know but can't we just--" She complains, a whining tone coming up as she was sick and tired of never being listened to. Klaus didn't seem to get the memo that he was the cause of mainly all of their arguments because he simply never listened to her.
"I promise we'll leave as soon as we can." Klaus cuts her off, sternly looking at her as he clenches his jaw. Cassandra glares at him for a moment but there was a part of her that knew he didn't mean to be so harsh with her. She bites her bottom lip, at least wanting to spend a little time with him.
"Can we at least go back to our place?" Cassandra asks with a pout as she moves her hands down his chest, pulling on his belt as a sigh leaves her lips. Klaus glances at her, pressing a kiss to her cheek as she presses up against him. She tries to turn her head in order to capture his lips but he only lifts his up, in order to kiss her forehead before pulling away. Cassandra frowns but keeps the emotion behind her eyes. Klaus strokes her cheek and then makes his way past her into the next room.
He was surprised to see an unknown brunette sneaking around it, almost like she didn't want someone to see her. Klaus raises an eyebrow, moving into the room more as he places his hands behind his back. She seemed to notice him, turning around quickly to meet the eyes of the hybrid, a shocked expression on her face. "You're a new face." He says after a moment, standing still as he just takes in her appearance. Trying to pin point if he's ever seen her before but she had made no recollection in his mind.
"And I take it from your accent you're an old one." Hayley responds as she thinks to herself for a moment, knowing Tyler had explained to her who was the person to turn him into a mind controlled hybrid. "Klaus." She says with a squint of her eyes as her head tilts a little bit. Truthfully, he was attractive but definitely not her type. He seemed too controlling, too egomaniac for her to be interested in him.
"My reputation proceeds me." Klaus says as he moves closer to her, turning his head over his shoulder a little as he thought Cassandra had been following him but apparently not. "Hopefully not all bad." He teased with a smirk forming on his lips. Hayley rolls her eyes for a moment, internally scoffing at his words. Klaus could tell she was a wolf right away, it was obvious even just by her behaviour.
"A little bad. Mostly repulsive." Hayley tells him which makes Klaus's smirk drop from his lips. She took pride in it, hating him for the way that he treated Tyler. Hearing the new voice, Cassandra made herself known, standing beside her fiance only to see he was talking to a woman who Cassandra thought she would never see again.
"Hayley?" She gasps out, a huge smile forming on her face. Hayley furrows her eyebrows for a moment, moving her gaze to the person next to Klaus. She notices who was talking, her heart stopping for a split second. It has been the woman who saved her life countless times. She practically owed her fifty million favors.
"No way. Cassandra?" Hayley says as she walks towards her, Klaus only looking between the two. Cassandra squeals, as she stares at her, wanting to know how she even found the town since it had been pretty tiny.
"What the hell are you doing here?" Cassandra asks as she laughs, bringing her in for a hug. Hayley smiles, embracing her tightly before they pull away from each other. Klaus stares at them confused, not realizing the two already knew each other. He just wondered from when.
"I'm visiting Tyler." She says as she looks at the woman who recoils. Cassandra didn't think Tyler knew anyone out of Mystic Falls, let alone a lone wolf. Hayley seemed to see her curiosity that was pooling in her eyes.
"Since when were you friends with him?" Cassandra questions as she glances back at Klaus who was keeping to himself, seemingly looking a little bored. At least he was seeing what it was like for her being kept in this wretched little town.
"Since when were you back with him?" Hayley rebuttles as she raises an eyebrow, trying to throw the subject off of herself because she knew she'd say something that would make Cassandra furious. Cassandra suddenly smiles, fiddling with her fingers for a moment. Hayley knew all about the man who broke her heart, she just never got a name.
"It's a long story." She replies with a shake of her head, rubbing Hayley's arm before sighing and walking over to the alcohol to pour herself a glass. The wolf watches her, her eyes cautiously moving over to Klaus for a second who was only staring at his fiance.
"I bet." Hayley whistles lowly, wondering how the man ever convinced her to come back to him since he sounded like a god awful man. Her mind recalls her earlier words, her eyes widening as she realized what she had just called the hybrid who could rip out her heart in a second. "I just called him repulsive." She gasps softly, she wasn't sorry she did it but she didn't really feel like dying today. Especially since she hadn't been able to help Tyler fully yet or find her parents.
"It's okay." Cassandra brushes her off with a shrug, not getting offended by the comment, mainly because it wasn't made directly at her. And it wasn't entirely false since at times Klaus could be unbearable to be around.
"Wha--" Klaus starts to defend himself but Cassandra only raises her hand, not even looking at him as she keeps her attention straight on Hayley.
"No one's talking to you." She tells him, as she shakes her hand at him. Klaus starts to talk again but decides to keep his mouth shut. Hayley laughs, trying to keep her smile to a minimum as Klaus crosses his arms against his chest. "When did you get here?" Cassandra asks as she leans against the wall, curiously staring at Hayley who lets out a little breath.
"Only yesterday. Don't worry if I had known you were in town I would've visited." Hayley teases her with a smirk making Cassandra let out a displeased noise.
"Mhmm." Cassandra says playfully as she squints her eyes. Hayley laughs, rolling her eyes as she grabs the girls glass and finishes the rest of her drink off. Cassandra slaps her arm, pouting lightly before starting to pour some more into it.
"So, you're a friend of Tyler's. That's strange. He's never mentioned you." Klaus interrupts the two girls as he found it a little odd as the wolf had all of a sudden popped up our of nowhere. Cassandra also tried to get that information in her head but she couldn't quite figure out the reason. Voices coming from the room is what catches their attention.
"You should go to the party. I'll be fine here." Tyler tries to convince Caroline to leave as he glances at the room where Hayley currently was. He knew Cassandra and Klaus were also in there so he did not need this turning into a much bigger issue than it was.
"I'd rather hang with you." Caroline denies with a frown as she wraps her hands around his neck, playing with the lower strands of his hair. Tyler gulps, his eyes flickering to the floor for a moment. He hated lying to her but he couldn't bring himself to tell her the truth.
"Trust me I am no fun right now." Tyler states as he shakes his head, not being able to make contact with her anymore. In the other room, Klaus gets a knowing smirk on his lips, his eyes flickering to Hayley who had a guilty expression on her face.
"And I think I know why." Klaus says with a chuckle as he stares at Hayley who frowns, noticing the way Cassandra was looking at her as well. Of course she would be hurt and a little taken back by the fact that it wasn't hard to put together why Tyler never once mentioned Hayley. Caroline would've told her if he did.
"Wait... You and--" Cassandra begins to accuse but Hayley shakes her head rapidly, a soft scoff leaving her lips. The raven haired vampire didn't believe her but she let the girl talk anyways.
"No! Of course not." Hayley lies immediately as she didn't need her one friend in this town to turn her back on her. "But it's not like he mentioned he had a girlfriend." She mumbles as she brings her eyes down to the ground, feeling Cassandra's angry gaze burning into her skull.
"And you came back to what? Get with him?" Cassandra asks as she raises an eyebrow, trying to keep her temper in check. If she found out Tyler had cheated, it would be the last thing he ever did. Caroline most likely never even knew hayley existed.
"Don't put words in my mouth." Hayley axxuses with a frustrated sigh as she crosses her arms against her chest. Yes, she and Tyler had spent a lot of time together and they may have slept together a few times, but this was before she even knew Caroline existed.
"Let me make this clear." She says in a stern tone as she sends a warning glare the wolf's way. "You and I may be friends but Caroline is also my friend and if you hurt her in any way, I will make you wish you never came here, understand?" Cassandra threatens as she takes a step closer to the girl. Hayley gulps but nods her head, her eyes moving to Klaus for a moment who was only smirking down at his feet. Cassandra stares at her for a little longer before turning around and grabbing Klaus's hand in order to pull him out of the room.
She knew she could trust Hayley, or at least she thought she could. But Caroline would be the one she protected, especially if Tyler had been unloyal to her. Cassandra would surely rip his heart out if that was the truth. Because Caroline had been the best friend she could ever ask for, so she would spare her the pain of heartbreak even if it meant getting rid of Hayley.
β’Β°β’Β°β’Β°β’Β°β’Β°β’Β°β’Β°β’Β°β’Β°β’Β°β’Β°β’
WALKING DOWN THE STAIRS, Cassandra realizes that Klaus was chilling in the living room as she was asleep upstairs waiting for his arrival. She didn't know where he had gone with Damon but she didn't think to question it, mostly because she didn't even want to know what the two had planned to do together. Rubbing her eyes, she makes her way into the room, walking over to the man and getting his attention. Klaus closes his sketchbook as he notices her, a small smile forming on his face as he sees her. Cassandra only gives him a confused look before sitting down on his lap and wrapping herself around him. "Where have you been?" Cassandra asks as she places a soft kiss on his cheek, sighing as she rests her head on his shoulder. Klaus smirks at her, raising an eyebrow at her as he had been there for a while she was just upstairs and didn't realize it.
"I got home hours ago, you've just been passed out love." Klaus informs her as he rubs a cheek with his thumb. Cassandra only sighs, nuzzling her head into his neck before planting a couple kisses on to it and looking back into his eyes. Just as she's about to say something, she hears a noise coming from the other room that sounded like a disgruntled groan.
"Who's that?" She questions confused as her head snaps to the room that the noise was coming from. Standing up, she starts to walk towards it but Klaus only stands in front of her, as he didn't know where she would stand for there being a hunter in their house.
"The hunter." Klaus answers her slowly before he opens the door a little bit so she was able to see inside. Cassandra only looks at the beaten body of the hunter before looking away so that Klaus was able to close the door once again.
"The-- you caught him?" Cassandra had to cut herself off because she didn't even truly know what she was trying to ask him. She knew that Damon probably wanted to kill him but the fact that the hunter was still alive meant that Klaus most likely needed something from him."Why?" She knew she shouldn't have asked this question because he was just going to give her an abundant answer but she needed to know. It was a mystery why Klaus didn't just kill him but then again he would have to suffer hallucinations for the better half of a century.
"Because he's one of the five." He states as if it was the most obvious thing in the world. Cassandra just thought he was a regular Hunter when they met but she was glad that she took necessary precautions anyways as she would be very dead if he truly was one of the five.
"Wait, like the five?" Cassandra asks her eyes widening as she had only heard of the five from Klaus and his siblings but she had never seen one because she was told they were all murdered but no one knew that they could be born again and follow the original five's footsteps and become the new five.
"I'm keeping him to get information out of him." Klaus says with a satisfied smirk on his lips as he truly believed that the hunter will eventually give him what he wanted. But that was a slim chance because the hunter was trained to not say anything to anyone especially a vampire who he was destined to kill.
"And you think he'd give you any?" She asks in a questionable tone as she raises an eyebrow at him. Klaus shrugs his shoulders, not really knowing how to answer because he didn't really know if the hunter would say anything but he was hoping he would knowing it was there only chance.
"One can wish." Klaus tells her offering a smile and leaning into capture her lips in his, kissing for a couple seconds before a noise going on inside the house catches their attention. Cassandra glance around the room looking for any signs of an intruder but can't seem to find any. "It's probably Rebekah being as disruptive as always." He assures her before he captures her lips once more deepening the kiss as he pulls her closer to his body. Cassandra can't shake the feeling that someone else was inside the house with them. Pulling away from him again, Klaus gives her a questionable look, but she only moves around him slowly looking aware at any possibility of a sneak attack. It didn't seem like she got her guard up enough before she is suddenly grabbed from behind an arm wrapping around her neck. Cassandra grabs it, twisting it and throwing whoever it was across the room. The person quickly gets up, attacking her again but it had been too soft to actually be an attack but she didn't realize that. She tries to block the shots going towards her but the person only catches her arms flipping her around before she lands on the floor hard on her back, being kept in a tight hold by the mystery person.
"Easy there, ingerul meu." A familiar voice tells her with a smirk playing on his lips as he holds her against the ground, his grip on her pretty tight. Cassandra meets the eyes of the one and only Nathan Hart as he gives her a playful expression. She hadn't seen the man in ages so she was half excited to see him but also curious as to why he would all of a sudden just show up. "A little rusty are you?" He asks in the native Romanian tongue that Cassandra hadn't heard in ages. She was so used to speaking English that she didn't understand him for a moment. It doesn't stop her from raising an eyebrow though, kicking his leg down and snapping his arm back so she was easily able to flip them over so she was now holding him to the ground. Nathan breathes heavily, chuckling lightly. "Or not." Nathan adds before she lets him go, getting up off of the floor and helping him up. Cassandra was suddenly filled with shock for a moment as she realized that Octavia Hart was also present in the room. Klaus was ready to attack until Cassandra wraps her arms tightly around the two unknown people in their home.
"Oh, my god!" She squeals as she embraces the two siblings who he couldn't believe were standing right in front of her. Cassandra didn't know why they were there but right now she did not care.
"Hey, Sandy." Octavia says to her as big smile takes over her features, glad that they were able to find her because it took the better half of a month to actually track her down to this town. She was half expecting the woman to be dead because of how long she had stayed.
"Sandy?" Klaus asks with furrowed eyebrows as he had never heard anybody refer to Cassandra in that name. She only looks towards her fiance who was only staring at the scene confused, as he had never seen these people in his life and was wondering how they had even figured out their whereabouts.
"It's a nickname she always called me." She explains to him as she wanted to clear some things up. Cassandra turns her attention back to her friends but Klaus speaks up again wanting to know more about the people in his home.
"And who are they?" Klaus asks in an unpleasant tone as he stares at the two intruders. Octavia squints her eyes at him, not liking his attitude towards them.
"Don't be hostile, Nik. They're my friends." Cassandra tries to tame the man who seems to calm down a little bit but still held his guard up. He didn't like new comers, especially ones who were close to his fiance. Klaus didn't know them therefore he didn't quite trust them yet.
"Her oldest friends." Octavia corrects as she holds out her hand to the man who only stares at it void of emotion. Pulling her hand back, she leans towards her brother. "That actually have manners unlike someone." She mumbles to him making the man smirk for a second before dropping it as he noticed the look Cassandra was sending him.
"This is Octavia and her brother Nathan." She introduced to Klaus who didn't really care for their names but nods his head, moving his eyes to the glass laying on the side. Nathan puts his hand over his heart, gasping as he gains the girls attention.
"Cassandra Alina Harrington. What am I not a friend too?" Nathan asks playfully as he shakes his head offended that she only referred to him as his sister's brother. Cassandra giggles a little, rolling her eyes at the mans antics.
"What are you guys doing here?" She asks, ignoring Nathan but giving him a teasing smirk, sticking her tongue out at him. Nathan flips her off before turning around to help himself to their alcohol, not even asking if he was allowed.
"We missed you. It's been a while." Octavia says with a smile as she raises an eyebrow at her. Cassandra laughs, nodding her head as she licks her bottom lip, remembering the last time they had seen each other. She couldn't believe it had been so long, especially since they used to be inseperable.
"Fifty years." Cassandra corrects her as the last time they saw each other was 1953 in Italy. They kept in brief contact over the years but it was hard to keep up the phone calls when Elijah was checking her call logs and it was harder to meet up with anybody since Klaus had gotten pretty close around that time.
"Eh, what's time when you're immortal." Octavia brushes off with a shrug as she waves her hand. Cassandra laughs, shaking her head as she looks at the girl who has been absent in her life for far too long. The brunettes eyes land on Klaus once again, suspicion raising in her as she didn't think she had ever seen the man before. Octavia remembered seeing a man by the name of Elijah but the person in front of her was entirely new. "So, who's mister dark and gloomy?" She asks as she nudges the girls shoulder. Klaus glares at her, already not liking the way she talked about him. But Octavia didn't care for his approval as she crosses her arms over her chest, awaiting an answer.
"Uh.." Cassandra trails off for a moment, glancing at Klaus as she didn't exactly know how to tell her friends that she was engaged, and to the man she told them repeatedly was a bad guy. "This is Nik, my fiance." She says hesitantly as she watches their face drop, both of them not knowing how to react to the information because out of all the situations they played out in their head, this hadnt been one of them.
"Fiance?!" They both scream at the same time, equally shocked as the other at finding out one of their oldest friends was engaged to a man they had no knowledge of. How very wrong they were about that. They had never seen a picture of Klaus, nor had he been referred to as Nik when they were friends so neither of them knew it was the same guy from centuries ago.
"Okay, it's been like two seconds, don't act all offended." Cassandra tells them sarcastically as she gives them a playful eye roll. Octavia was surprised but also proud of her friend for finally stepping out and finding a man that wasn't a piece of absolute shit.
"So you finally got over the heap of garbage from centuries ago?" She asks with a huge smirk on her face, placing a hand on her hip. Klaus clears his throat, his jaw clenching at her words as he glared at the girl. Cassandra widens her eyes for a split second before flickering her eyes between the group. This wasn't exactly how she intended the first conversation between her fiance and friends to go but there was no changing it now.
"Not exactly..." Cassandra trails off, her eyes moving to the ground as she couldn't stand to see the judging looks on their faces. Nathan wasn't judging her though, in fact he thought she had a lot of personal growth throughout the years and if this decision truly made her happy, then he wasn't going to protest it. Octavia on the other hand was trying to figure out why in God's name would she ever go back to Klaus.
"So, this is the dickhead who screwed you over?" Octavia asks as if she hadn't put it together correctly. She was hoping Cassandra would correct her but it didn't happen, the girl only stared at her with a sheepish smile. Nathan didn't seem as mad about it as his sister did, he just cares if Klaus was treating her right now. "And you're engaged to him." She finishes shocked as she stares eyes wide at the couple. Octavia didn't know if she was loyal or just plain dumb going back to the man who had caused nothing but pain and misery in her life. But there was a big gap that she had to fill in but it didn't change her view that he was a complete asshole.
"Technically I left him without a clear explanation." Cassandra corrects her, not wanting to leave Klaus completely out to rot under Octavia's gaze. She only rolls her eyes, not impressed by her defending the original.
"It seemed pretty clear to me." She mumbles to herself earning a elbow jab from her brother who was silently telling her to shut up. Octavia only scoffs, keeping her hardened gaze on Klaus who was backing down.
"We're happy for you, tiger." Nathan tells cassandra after clearing his throat, feeling awkward speaking after what his sister had just said. Sure, it wasn't the best decision but Octavia didn't have to be so harsh about it.
"Debatable." Octavia says annoyed as she looks away, biting the inside of her cheek in order to keep another sarcastic comment from slipping out.
"Tave." Cassandra warns, giving a scolding expression, not needing a fight to emerge. Octavia glances at her for a second, her eyes still fiery as she clenches her jaw.
"I had to pick you up off of the floor some nights because of this man. Give me some time to come to terms with this news." She says with a sigh, needing at least a millenium to accept what was brought into her so suddenly. Octavia didn't approve of her choice In men but she knew there was no changing Cassandra's mind once it was made up. "Now, which one is my room?" Octavia asks before twirling around and heading down the hallway, not even waiting to hear Klaus's obvious denial. He didn't want two strangers living in their h ouse especially when they had too many problems to deal with already.
"Nik, please. They're my friends." Cassandra knew he was going to refuse an invite towards them so she had to persuade him somehow. But it didn't seem like he was exactly the biggest fan of them. "Please." She says again as she clasps her hands together, giving him a pleading expression as she was hoping they got to stay. Klaus stares at her for a moment, his eyes moving to the ground as he heard the two rummaging throughout the house.
"A couple nights, that's it." He tells her with a sigh as he watches her face light up, giving him a quick hug and peck on the cheek. Pulling away, she keeps her arms wrapped around his neck as she raises an eyebrow at him.
"Because we're leaving?" She asks hopeful, as maybe they weren't able to stay long because Klaus had finally decided to leave the town like he promised her days ago. Cassandra wanted to travel the world with him but it was hard to do that when things were keeping them in this damned town. Klaus doesn't answer her, forcing her to try and figure out why he was suddenly so agitated and quiet. Cassandra stares at him, noticing the annoyance behind his eyes. "Why are you so mad?" Cassandra could tell that something was clearly bothering him but there was no way he was actually going to tell her what was getting him so upset.
"I'm not mad." He snaps at her, catching himself off guard but she only gives him a stern look, expecting a better reply than that. It was obvious to anyone within a two mile radius that he was angry at something. "I just don't like seeing other guys looking at you like that." Klaus states as he crosses his arms firmly against his chest. He kept his eyes off of her, his whole body rigid as he realized that the two siblings had to have known her before he did.
"Like what?" She questions as she tilts her head lightly, her eyebrows furrowing at his accusation. Maybe Klaus was seeing something she wasn't but she was one hundred percent sure that there weren't any longing looks from the man.
"You don't see it?" He asks with a scoff as he rolls his eyes, moving away from the woman. Cassandra looks after him confused, not understanding what he was referring to. Nathan didn't look at her in any way that wasn't as a friend. She would've noticed by now especially with Octavia watching them for a hawk the first decade they knew each other.
"Nathan and I are just really close and we never did anything together, not only for Octavia but because we just don't see each other like that." Cassandra explains to him as she fiddles with her fingers, her eyes flickering over his expression that remained stoic. Nathan and her never had any sort of relationship and never wanted one. They both respected Octavia's wish but they were just never really attracted to each other. Sure, they've seen each other naked or while they were changing but that's because neither of them had boundaries or really cared to look. Whenever Octavia had been busy and Cassandra needed help choosing an outfit, she had no problem going to Nathan and changing because he was only really annoyed that she couldn't just go bother someone else. The only reason why she has seen Nathan naked was because she talks to him while he is in the shower and she just needs to rant or he knows she won't leave him alone so decides to get dressed.
They were really close friends, and neither of them ever wanted to jeopardize that by acting on something that wasn't there. It was a little difficult to explain their friendship to Klaus as he probably wouldn't understand or like the fact that they don't mind being indecent around each other.
"Okay." Klaus says although it didn't seem like he was all too trusting on her words. Cassandra frowns, taking a small step closer to him as she puts her hand on his chin and rubs it softly. His eyes move down to hers, his jaw lightly clenched as he didn't know Nathan at all. He felt threatened by the man.
"Baby, please believe me." She pleads as she gives a small pout, resting her chin on his chest. Cassandra didn't need Klaus being all jealous, not that it wasn't incredibly attractive. But she knew he would rip Nathan's heart out without a second thought. Klaus sighs but ultimately nods his head as he knew she was telling him the truth. She smiles at him before leaning up and capturing his lips in a kiss. Klaus puts his hands on her hips, pulling her ever so closer as their lips move in sync. Cassandra moans lightly as she pulls against his belt, allowing their bodies to press together. He moves one hand up to her head, deepening the kiss as he backs her against the wall behind her. She couldn't help the fact that her knees buckled for a split second, thankful for his hands that were holding her against the wall as their lips met with a rough touch. Klaus hears another moan escape her lips before he senses another presence in the room.
"Klaus and Cassandra sitting in a tree, k-i-s-s-i--- ow!" Octavia shouts, catching the couple's attention as they look over only to see the two siblings standing by the doorway. Octavia was glaring at Nathan as he only rolls his eyes, giving her an annoyed look. Cassandra laughs, shaking her head as she stares at her friends. A smile forms on her face as she was glad they decided to come back into her life because they made it ten times better. They met at a time where Cassandra didn't truly know who she was and she hadn't gotten out of skin. Thankfully, they showed her how to always be herself and to never change for anyone but herself. Though, none of them suspected that the woman they all trusted would turn and take Cassandra's innocence from her.

CASSANDRA WAS CURRENTLY RESIDING IN A SMALL VILLAGE NEAR THE OUTSKIRTS OF ROMANIA. She had run away from her father a couple of months ago when she had enough of his actions and his harsh words. There was no safety for her there, not even in her own home. But luckily she had stumbled her way into a place where everyone was so kind and didn't want to hurt you. A place that she felt like she was safe in. To Cassandra it felt like two different worlds, like she had entered a universe where she didn't have to fear anymore.
Abigail Jennings, the woman who took her in after seeing the girls battered appearance, had assured her that nothing bad was going to happen to her ever again. Even adding the fact that they had their own personal protectors at night. Cassandra didn't know what she meant by it but didn't move to question it. Throughout the months she had grown out of her skin and actually participated in the activities they would do. She was still quite a shy girl who usually flinched when someone reached out for her, remembering all the hands that had hurt her in the past. But Abigail helped bring out the light again in her eyes.
She is brought out of her thoughts, looking out the window as she hears Abigail's voice seemingly so far away. Cassandra snaps her head towards the sound, realizing that the woman was actually right next to her and seemed to be trying to get her attention for quite some time. She offers a small smile to Cassandra, knowing better than to ask if anything was wrong with her.
Abigail clears her throat, stepping aside in order for Cassandra to be able to see two unknown people standing behind her. They looked similiar, her first guess would be siblings but she didn't know who they were or why Abigail would bring them to her. "Cassandra, I'd like you to meet Octavia and Nathan Hart." She introduces the siblings with a soft smile on her face. Cassandra only stares at them, not liking how they were strangers. She hadnt been the best at meeting new people, often having panic attacks or needing to leave the conversation abruptly if she was feeling confined.
"Hi.." She says awkwardly, kind of confused as she stares at them. Abigail offers a reassuring look as she grabs a hold of the girls hand, bringing her closer. Cassandra looks at their hands before settling into it, letting out a breath.
"She's a bit shy but I feel like you all will get on splendid." Abigail explains to them as Octavia and Nathan both nod at the information. They both were shy at one point too so they knew how difficult it was meeting new people. Especially so suddenly. "Well, I'll go make us some dinner. You three get acquainted now." She says after a moment of silence, wanting the three to get to know each other and knew it was probably easier if she were to just leave them alone. Abigail gives one last squeeze to Cassandra's hand before pulling away and walking away from the trio.
"So, Cassandra, how do you know Abigail?" She asks curiously as they could both tell that she was very much human. Abigail had taken them in as well about a year ago. They had no where else to go and they were starving on the streets. So, they wanted to come back once a month to visit the woman and help around the village. This was there first month back even though it brought up bad memories because around ten months ago, the village was attacked. Neither of them knew by what but Abigail clearly did. It wasn't until they both woke up suddenly after having their necks torn out did they learn the truth. And that Abigail had been feeding them her blood unknowingly to them.
Nathan was more angry about it all than his sister, not wanting to become such a creature but Abigail had practically forced him to drink human blood. Octavia had to force him to come back to the village, sure she had saved their lives but she had also turned them into blood thirsty monsters.
"She brought me in when I was on the streets." Cassandra answers as she glances around, hoping Abigail would come back because she hated being around unknown people by herself. This seems to bring the siblings back to reality as they noticed how nervous the girl seemed. Octavia nods her head, clicking her tongue.
"Dead folks? Us too." She says with a dramatic sigh, placing her hand on her hips. Cassandra practically chokes on air as she notices how casually those words came out of her mouth. Octavia didn't notice the girls wide eyes because Nathan had elbowed her in the gut. "What, I'm making conversation." Octavia mumbles with a roll of her eyes as she gives her brother a deadly glare. Nathan wasn't affected by it, only giving a stern expression.
"That is not how you make conversation with somebody." He snaps at her accusingly, wanting to apologize for his sister's words. Nathan turns his gaze to Cassandra, ready to say something but the girl beat him to it with a shake of her head.
"It's okay." Cassandra interrupts in a small voice as she didn't want to cause a fight between them. Nathan sends one last glare to his sister before turning his attention back to the younger girl. "And yes my mother died young but my father is still very much alive." She says quietly as she clenches her jaw a little bit, her gaze keeping to the floor as she was afraid to meet their eyes. They both seemed confused, not understanding why she was here instead of with her father.
"Then why were you on the streets, if you do not mind me asking?" Nathan asks slowly, his tone was sincere, not wanting to spook or make her feel like she had to tell them anything. They had just met so she had every right to deny giving any personal information out to them.
"He is a horrible man. Always intoxicated and dispicable. He allowed.. certain things to happen to me and I didn't want to deal with it anymore so I ran away." Cassandra couldn't even finish her thought as memories flooded through her mind. She didn't want to relive it or ever have to go through it again but she knew her father would be trying to find her. Not because he cared but because she was his main source of income. Octavia's face drops, a saddened expression on her face but there was clear anger behind her eyes. She couldn't believe a father would allow that to happen to his own daughter. If she ever met him, Cassandra would end up having two dead parents.
"I'm so sorry." She says sympathetically as she offers a small smile. Cassandra was going to return the gesture but she was just trying to get her head clear again. Octavia clears her throat after a moment, looking towards Nathan. "Well, you certainly got your mother's looks because girl you look divine." Octavia tried to lighten the mood as she puts a large smirk on her face, winking at her as her eyes roam over the girl. Nathan was respectful and not looking at the girl in such a way.
"Uh-- um thank you." She stutters as her eyes move to the ground, fiddling with her fingers as she had never gotten too many compliments in her life. Most had been backhanded or said in such a tone where she wanted to puke. Octavia notices the wheels turning in the girls head so decides to keep the conversation going.
"Where is my compliment back?" She asks as she raises an eyebrow expectantly at the girl who blushes lightly. Cassandra stays silent for a moment, unable to form any words as she looks at the woman in front of her. Clearing her throat, she tried to figure out something to say but the words weren't coming out. Nathan was about to intervene and scold his sister for pressuring her but thankfully something was formed in her mind.
"You are beautiful." Cassandra tells her as she could hear her voice crack mid sentence. Octavia laughs, a genuine smile on her face as she moves closer to the girl, putting her hand on her arm. Cassandra jolts at the sudden touch, catching the attention of both siblings who simply frown for a second. The raven haired vampire stands awkwardly as she pulls her arms into her chest.
"Why thank you, Sandy." Octavia says after she shares a look with her brother. They both knew they had to take it easy around her until she grew to trust them. They weren't going to force her into physical touch if she didn't want it.
"Sandy?" Cassandra asks with furrowed eyebrows but she kind of liked the ring to it. No one had ever called her that before so it was nice. It was refreshing to bring something new into her life to push out the bad.
"Yep. You're stuck with it now." Octavia states, firmly nodding as she wasn't taking back the nickname anytime soon. Once she thought of one, it was in her head forever and there was nothing anyone could ever do to make her stop, even if it was bad.
"She is very persistent, you will not be able to change her mind." Nathan adds with a chuckle as he shakes his head. Cassandra nods, meeting his eyes as she recognizes that he had similar ones to his sister.
"I will keep that in mind." She responds to him with a kind tone as a small smile plays on her features. Cassandra had never really gotten a chance to have friends. Her childhood was pretty lonely and so abusive that she felt like she was the odd one out most of the time. But something inside of her told her that this time would be different. That she didn't have to hide anymore or keep her mouth shut. Nathan and Octavia seemed so kind and inviting that she felt like she could leave her life in their hands.
Thankfully she was right to come to that decision. But she didn't take into equation the person who took her in. The woman who treated her like her own daughter. The woman who was supposed to watch out for her.
