CASSANDRA PULLS AWAY FROM KLAUS, her head shaking as she moves away from him. She had almost killed him. She was going to kill him. Klaus goes to reach for her but she only flinches away. What if it was only for a split second that she was in control? She didn't even know when she had lost to this thing inside of her. That's what scared her the most. Klaus sighs as he watches her, quickly moving over to grab a hold of her before she could fight him off. Holding her tightly, he plants a kiss to the side of her head.
"I don't know what the hell was wrong with me, how did it get control?" Cassandra asks as tears flood down her cheeks. Klaus only rocks her back and forth, not knowing how strong this thing was to be able to take over someone without them even realizing it.
"I'm not sure, love." Klaus answers honestly as he kisses her temple, his hands rubbing her back as she clings onto him. Cassandra hated herself for going after him. For going after Kol. Rebekah. She could've killed one of them. She could never live with herself if she did. Her eyes flicker around the room, noticing the stake was gone and so was Kol.
"Where's Kol?" She questions as she looks around but Klaus only shakes his head, keeping her held close because the last thing she needs to worry about right now is where Kol had run off to.
"I don't know." He tells her as he rests his head on hers, comforting her as Cassandra sniffles. She couldn't just sit her while her friends were out there wondering why she just tried to kill them. She had the white oak stake pressed into Rebekah. The girl looked so scared.
"I have to apologize for almost killing him." Cassandra states as she pulls away from Klaus, standing up as she brushes the tears off of her cheeks. Klaus follows in toe, raising an eyebrow at her as Kol wasn't the only one that she tried to brutally murder.
"You almost killed me." He points out making Cassandra stop in her place and turn back to him. Cassandra sighs as she meets his eyes, almost too guilty to do so. She had almost killed him and here he was, only asking, not even for an apology. He was just there for her. Klaus knew the stake could kill him but he brought it anyways. He trusted her enough to believe that she would snap out of it at the last second. Cassandra didn't trust herself like that.
Cassandra only walks over to him, stopping mere centimeters away before pressing their lips together in a soft kiss. Klaus sighs into it, his hands moving to her back to pull her in closer. Their lips move in sync for a couple of seconds before she pulls away from him. "Is that enough of an apology?" Cassandra asks with a smile as she leans back away from him. Klaus only smirks before kissing her again, pulling her closer. He wanted her to stop worrying about everything which she wasn't going to do if she didn't calm down. He notices the tension leave her body as she melts into the kiss, her hands gripping his shirt as she moans softly.
Cassandra backs him into a chair, pushing him down and straddling his waist, not once breaking the kiss. She moans as she deepens the kiss, her hands clinging to his shirt as she tightens her knees on his hips. Klaus had his hands on her back, inching her closer as their lips fought together. Cassandra grinds against him lightly, her lips moving more rough against his as she could feel his hands move towards her ass. After a couple more seconds, she uses the momentum on his chest to pull her swollen lips away from his. Breathing heavily, she looks down at the man who was only smirking at her. Cassandra sits there for a second, catching her breath before getting off of his lap but not before feeling him give her ass a squeeze. She gives him a playfully scolding look before she sighs, wiping her lips as her lipstick was no doubt smudged.
Cassandra groans as she runs her hands through her hair which Klaus had tangled up. He only chuckles a little bit, walking over to her and pulling up her shirt a little. "Can we go find Kol now?" She asks with a raised eyebrow, knowing that was more than a good enough apology. Klaus smiles but nods his head as he takes her hand in his.
Klaus knew exactly where Kol was. It wasn't a mystery that the man didn't want to raise Silas and was doing everything in his power to stop Jeremy from growing his mark. So the first place he sped them to was the Gilbert house. Cassandra was confused why they were there, stepping onto the porch but what she saw. What her eyes witnessed in front of her. She has wished that she was still in that messed up state so she didn't have to feel the absolute pain and horror that was coursing through her veins right now.
Klaus drops her hand as he stares wide eyed at the scene in front of him. Neither of them knowing what to say as the sound flooded their ears. Cassandra could barely look but her eyes were glued, she couldn't seem to break her eyes away.
Kol was in flames, screaming in agony as he drops down to the floor in the living room. His body flailing and Cassandra could hear the absolute terror and pain the man was feeling from his voice. Kol suddenly goes limp, the fire going out and what is left is the charred body of the original.
Cassandra stares at it for a moment, almost not believing that Kol had just been killed. It was impossible. She couldn't imagine Kol not being alive. Her eyes move over past his body, only to see Jeremy and Elena staring back at them in fear. They knew they had just made a terrible mistake.
"What did you do?" Klaus asks as he stares at the charred body of his brother. Sure Kol and Klaus didn't get along much but he was family. He was not going to take lightly to the Gilbert's murdering him.
"We didn't have a choice, he tried to cut off Jeremy's arm." Elena tries to defend her actions like she was the victim. Cassandra only glared at her, knowing that it was all her fault. Kol was the one dead, not her and she was acting like she had the right blame him for her killing him.
"Lies. He never would've gotten inside if you hadn't set a trap for him." Klaus snaps at them, knowing Kol wasn't invited in so they had to have told him to come inside. Cassandra felt absolute rage fill her body as she knew that Elena had purposely made Kol mad so he attacked them. She let him in. And now she was going to defend herself saying that he tried to kill them? When she was the one who gave him free reign to do so.
"You said you were going to put him down too." Elena tries to interject but that only makes Klaus angrier. There was no way she was twisting his words into thinking that he wanted his own brother dead.
"I was going to make him suffer on my terms!" He screams at them, a sole tear leaving his eye. Cassandra flinches a little at his tone but she knew he was angry and had every right to be. She was ready to rip them limb from limb too. "I'm going to burn this house to the ground, and then when you try to flee for your lives I'll kill you both without blinking." Klaus threatens them as his eyes glance around the house, ready to burn it to ash.
"Kill us, you'll never get the cure. You'll never be able to make more hybrids." Jeremy says making klaus scoff as he glared at the hunter who thought there was even one ounce of him that even wanted the cure.
"Do you really think I care for an instant about my bloody hybrids? I want the cure so I can destroy it. I would've killed you the second we dug it up. But now I'm gonna watch you burn instead." Klaus says, taking a step forward making Elena gulp as she shares a look with Jeremy.
"You don't have to, Nik." Cassandra says making him glance at her for a second, wondering why on earth she would want to stop him. Elena's eyes flash with hope for a moment before it diminishes after seeing Cassandra glare at her with nothing but hatred. "I'm already invited in." She states as she steps over the doorway, a smirk on her face. Elena gasps, not being able to do anything before she is smashed against the wall. Jeremy holds up his bow to shoot her but Cassandra catches it, throwing it back into his shoulder making him groan. Cassandra knew it was Elena's idea. Jeremy couldn't control his urge to kill vampires, she put the idea in his head. She is about to stake Elena when suddenly a pain in her head makes her drop to the ground, the stake removed from her hand. Cassandra cries out, kneeling on the floor as they also look at Klaus who was also groaning.
Bonnie suddenly appeared in the doorway making both of their eyes widen. "Invite him in." She tells them but they were both hesitant to even move from their spot. "Do it." Bonnie says and Jeremy takes one look at Klaus who was glaring at him and if looks could kill..
"Come in." Jeremy tells him and immediately Klaus is charging at them. Elena and Jeremy running from the couple before suddenly Klaus and Cassandra hit a barrier. Klaus screams out as he continuously hits it.
"I will hunt all of you to your end!" He tells them as they all walk out, leaving them alone. "Do you hear me? Do you!" Klaus screams as he bangs against the barrier. Cassandra deflates as she hadn't realized that Bonnie too was in on it. Was that the whole reason why she had gotten with Kol in the first place.
"Nik." She says softly, her voice cracking as she lifts her hand to his back. Klaus stops, his body turning towards her and she could see the pain and grief in his eyes. Cassandra only sniffles before engulfing him in a hug, crying as she tries not to look at Kol's body. Klaus just lets her, staring idly at the ground as he thinks about all the ways he would torture every single one of them.
β’Β°β’Β°β’Β°β’Β°β’Β°β’Β°β’Β°β’Β°β’Β°β’Β°β’Β°β’
CASSANDRA WAS STILL IN KLAUS'S ARMS, only he had returned the hug and they were both just silently grieving Kol's death. Every once in a while, one of them would sniffle or move their body slightly so they didn't have to look at Kol, but other than that it was pure silence. They were both in shock at what had taken place right in front of their eyes. Cassandra was blaming herself, thinking if they would've gotten here a second earlier, she could have stopped the whole thing. Klaus hadn't uttered a word to her, scared he would either cause her to break down, or break down himself.
They just hold each other as comfort, both of them saying a lot without even talking. Footsteps catch their attention making them both be on alert but it wasn't as if they could do anything. Cassandra stares at the door as she pulls away from Klaus, squinting her eyes. Bonnie comes through, her eyes immediately meeting them as they both stare angrily at her and she couldn't blame them. "I'm sorry, you guys." She admits as she walks over to them and they were both a bit skeptical on why she was here. That was until she dropped the barrier between them. "They had to believe that I was on their side." Bonnie says as she has tears well up in her eyes, barely being able to take a glance at Kol. Cassandra realized that she was just trying to fool Elena, feeling bad for thinking the girl didn't care about Kol.
"Bonnie." She says softly, the girl looking at her as a few tears leaving her eyes as she shakes her head.
"I'm so sorry." Bonnie says as she sniffles, looking at both of them. "I didn't know they were gonna kill him." She admits as she begins to cry, staring at the body of her dead boyfriend. Cassandra frowns before moving over so she was able to pull her in for a hug. Bonnie cried in her arms, her hands gripping onto Cassandra. She hated Elena for doing this. She didn't want to help her find the cure but she wanted to find it for everyone else who was in her life. And she made a promise to Shane. Pulling away, Cassandra wipes the tears from the girls cheeks as she puts a stern look on her face.
"Let's go." Cassandra says, ready to go and kill every last one of the people who knew about Kol's death.
"Wait, we can't both leave." Klaus tells her making both Bonnie and Cassandra look at him confused. "If you truly are gonna fake this truce then, one of us needs to be in here to make it seem like you accidentally didn't trap us both." He explains to them and Bonnie only nods her head, knowing Klaus was right. Elena and Jeremy saw her put the barrier up, it would make no sense that both of them got out. "Cassandra go." Klaus says as he looks over at Cassandra who immediately shakes her head.
"I'm not leaving you here." She denied as she walks over to him, putting her hands on his cheeks. Klaus only looks at her with a soft smile.
"Find the cure. And then kill them." Klaus tells her making Cassandra furrow her eyebrows. Klaus hadn't been too found of the cure and especially after he found out that she wanted to take it.
"I thought you didn't care about the cure?" Cassandra asks as she sniffles, looking over his features. Klaus only nods, before his eyes meet hers again.
"But you do." He replied which made her heart stop. Cassandra was shocked that he even accepted the fact that she wanted to be human. But Klaus did. He knew that was what she truly wanted and he wasn't going to stop her. He would love her as a vampire or as a human. Cassandra smiles brightly at him before smashing their lips together. Klaus kisses her back with just as much passion and love as cassandra holds onto him tightly. They kiss for a few more seconds before she pulls away from him, breathless. Bonnie clears her throat and Cassandra felt bad that she had forgotten the witch was there. She had basically shoved it in her face that she still had someone. Cassandra pulls away from Klaus, backing up and walking over to Bonnie who had a sad smile on her face.
Putting the barrier back up, Bonnie and Cassandra bid Klaus one last goodbye before leaving the house. "Okay, we are gonna be at the Salvatore's, you come in, and say you'll kill Jeremy and then I'll say things and then you agree to come with us. They'll believe you just want to be human too." Her plan was very cryptic and generic but Cassandra only nods her head as she speeds them to the Salvatore house, waiting outside as Bonnie goes in and sits on the couch, watching Jeremy. She had to stop herself from glaring at Elena as it would make her be asked a lot of questions.
"It didn't work." Jeremy says as he keeps staring at the mark that hadnt grown yet on his arm.
"It took time for Finns line to die, remember? It'll work." Bonnie reminds him as her fingers play with each other, her brain telling her to slap Elena but she couldn't. Elena seemed so clueless at what she had done.
"Wheres that Gilbert optimism." Damon asks as he walks into the room making Elena's eyes widen. "Hi." He says as he looks at her causing a small smile to appear on her face. He had been trapped in the cellar until Kol's compulsion finally wore off and he had guessed that they had to have done something to him in order for it to go away. "Sorry I missed all the excitement." Damon tells her with a smirk making Elena shake her head.
"I'm just happy to see you." Elena admits as she stares at him until the front door opens and Stefan walks in. He glances between them before scoffing.
"Looks like I didn't miss much." He announces as he closes the door. In all honesty, Stefan wasn't doing this for Elena anymore. He wanted to get the cure for Cassandra, for himself so they could all just forget Elena even existed. He was done with her. "I got the Silas headstone." Stefan tells them as he holds up the bag towards the.
"We're just waiting for Jeremy's mark to grow." Elena tells him as she gestures back to her brother. "Klaus and Cassandra are trapped in our living room." She announced making both Damon and Stefan look at her. They knew they had to be livid if they had witnessed Kol die. Stefan knew Cassandra was going to rip Elena's heart out the minute she saw her.
"Temporarily." Bonnie almost snaps but she watches her tone as they all turn to her. "I drew on the full moon to bind the spell. We've got three days to find that cure. Four max." She replied, honestly hoping the spell wore off soon so that Klaus could help them.
"If we don't, we might as well look up Katherine Pierce and see if she wants some company in hiding because he will come after us." Jeremy says, knowing what he signed up for but he didn't think it was worth it. Killing Kol only added to the list of their current problems.
"We'll find it. Now that we've gotten Rebekah taken care of, all we need is Shane and we'll have everything we need." Elena says with a smile as she looks at them but Stefan only raises his eyebrows as he shakes his head.
"Yeah, I didn't dagger her." Stefan admits, not even the slightest bit sorry that he didn't get Matt to stick a dagger in Rebekah's back. In all truth, he'd rather be around her than anyone else right now.
"What? Why not?" Elena asks with a scoff as she crossed her arms against her chest.
"I didn't need to, she's on our side." He tells them with a shrug as he didn't really see the big deal of leaving her alive.
"On our side? Did you really just say that?" Elena says with her eyebrows raised, wondering what the hell had gotten into him recently.
"Yeah, she handed over the headstone. She wants this cure more than any of us." Stefan says as he stares at Elena who was only glaring at him.
"Why would you possibly think you can trust her?"Elena asks as she looks towards Bonnie for help but the girl only turns away from her.
"Let me guess. She pledged her allegiance to you while you were naked in the sack." Damon states with a smirk as he looks at his brother who only scoffs. Stefan couldn't care that Damon revealed he slept with Rebekah, but it wasn't his information to tell.
"I bet you were just dying to get that out, weren't you?"Stefan asks as he moves towards Damon who only shrugs.
"Oh, was that supposed to be a secret? Maybe you should have made that a little more clear while you were bleeding me dry in our cellar." Damon sneers at him making Stefan scoff as he rolls his eyes.
"Yeah, to keep you from killing Jeremy." Stefan points out the obvious as he wasn't just keeping Damon in the cellar for no reason.
"Stop it. Both of you." Elena tells them as this wasn't helping anything.
"Why don't you tell her to calm down, Damon? You've managed to use that sire bond pretty well so far." Stefan tells Damon, a small smirk on his lips. Damon just stares at him for a moment before punching him in the face. Stefan glared at him, getting up and stalking over to Damon before Jeremy let out a scream of pain, capturing their attention. Jeremy groans as he rips off his shirt, glancing over at his tattoo.
"It's happening." He tells them as he watches his tattoo start to spread up his arm.
"Oh, my god." Elena gasps as she stares at the mark that was growing every second. Jeremy glances over to them furrowing his eyebrows.
"You can see it?" He asks making everyone nod as they watch the mark crawl up his body until it eventually stops at his chest. They all smile, knowing it worked and that they finally had everything they needed to get the cure. Jeremy looks over to them but his eyes widen as he sees Cassandra behind them. Speeding over, she wraps her arm around his neck and puts it in a position to easily snap it. Elena immediately goes to walk towards them but Cassandra only glared at her.
"One move and I snap his neck like a twig." Cassandra threatens as she holds onto Jeremy who was breathing heavily. Damon and Stefan were both cautious, knowing they needed Jeremy to access the cure.
"Cass--" Elena begins to say but flinches when she is met with Cassandra's cold eyes. Elena knew she had hurt the girl by killing Kol but there was no other way.
"Don't say my name you little bitch." Cassandra snaps at her before tilting Jeremy's head a little more causing Elena to gasp. "You are one of two members who killed Kol." She admits as she glared at the woman who gulps, glancing back at Damon who was slowly creeping towards them. "Now, do you want a slow death or do you want me to save that for little Jeremy here?" She asks as she raises her eyebrow at Elena who only shakes her head. Damon goes to move towards them but Cassandra breaks Jeremy's arm making him let out a pained scream. "I said don't move." She hissed at them, her eyes now soley on the Salvatore's who both held their hands up in defense.
"Cassandra, please." Bonnie says, catching the attention of the girl. Bonnie walks towards them slowly, showing a little glint her eyes towards Cassandra. "You want the cure too." She states making Cassandra clench her jaw a little, glancing over at the others for a second. "They had to kill Kol to complete the mark." Bonnie hated saying it and Cassandra could tell by the change in her body demeanour. Cassandra tightens her grip on Jeremy to sell that she wasn't exactly happy with that fact. "Hey, if it's true what Shane said, Silas can bring him back." Bonnie adds but that actually makes Cassandra think back to what he said. Could Silas really bring Kol back? "Just let him go." Bonnie finishes as she stares at Cassandra a little longer. Cassandra thinks for a moment before tossing Jeremy over towards them. Elena immediately feeds him her blood to heal him from the broken arm.
"If he can't." Cassandra starts, making sure to look over each and every one of them "You're all dead." She states, wanting them to know that if they can't bring Kol back, then they would have their hearts ripped from their chests. They all gulp before Cassandra puts on a smile and puts her hand on her hip.
"So, when do we leave."
β’Β°β’Β°β’Β°β’Β°β’Β°β’Β°β’Β°β’Β°β’Β°β’Β°β’Β°β’
And with that.. the search for the cure has begun. I really don't think I'm gonna give Elena a redemption but I'm still weighing my options. Silas is comingggg. Comment your thoughts.
