CHAPTER TWENTY
Γ— an everlasting deal Γ—

β€’Β°β€’Β°β€’Β°β€’Β°β€’Β°β€’Β°β€’Β°β€’Β°β€’Β°β€’Β°β€’

CASSANDRA HAD ALL OF HER STUFF PACKED, ready to get the hell out of this god forsaken town once and for all. She couldn't stay around any longer watching everything go to crap. Klaus would be dead. Elena would be dead, not that she cared too much. The only one in the town she would likely stick around for was Damon but he would understand why she had to leave. For the past five hundred years she had been running. Never once actually getting to live her life the way she wanted to. She was never free. Until now.Β  There was nothing holding her back now. That was until her phone started ringing beside her. Letting out a long groan, she reads Damon's name which pops up on her screen. Taking a long break, she rolls her eyes before answering the phone.

"What's up?" Cassandra asks once she puts the phone to her ear. She was hoping it was something quick so she could get in her car and leave Mystic Falls. But to her luck it wasn't.

"Cassandra, I need you to get Elena. Get Elena and bring her back here now." Damon says frantically through the phone, Cassandra almost didn't understand him. The girl was still confused on what he was on about because if it was close to the moon being full, why the hell would she try and take Elena from, by now probably Klaus's grasp?

"What the hell are you talking about?" She questions with a frustrated sigh as she didn't exactly want to play babysitter right now. Cassandra leans against her dresser, running a hand through her hair as she hears Damon's voice again.

"I saved Caroline and Tyler but Klaus was one step ahead, he always is." Damon tells her, kind of out of breath but she didn't question it as her eyebrows furrow, confused on what he was talking about. If Klaus didn't have a werewolf or vampire, how was he going ahead with the sacrifice? "He's going to kill Jenna, Cass." He adds, knowing the woman had made some sort of friendship with Jenna and maybe it would be more convincing then just saying she needed to save Elena.

"I-i don't know what you want me to do." She says but Cassandra knew exactly what the man was asking her to do. She just thought that if she denied it to herself, he would leave her alone and not actually ask her to walk into a death trap.

"Please, save them. Cass, I'm begging you." He pleads as he grabs at his arm for a second, feeling the pain of his newly formed werewolf bite. Cassandra clenches her jaw a little bit, having a battle of conscience with herself as she knew Jenna didn't deserve this fate, she was just tossed into this world with no warning.

"I'm done with this mess, Damon." She says with a sigh, rubbing her forehead as she didn't want to get dragged back in. Cassandra was so close to leaving, she could feel the freedom but of course that was all a dream. It would never become a reality.

"I can't let her die, not now. Not when i-- just please Cassie." Damon had paused mid way through his sentence, not wanting to tell the girl he was dying. Not yet at least because then she would be too worried about him than saving Elena and Jenna.

"Damn it." She murmers to herself for a second, wanting so desperately to kill Damon right now. But she has come so far, she can't let Jenna get murdered. "Okay, I'll see what I can do but he's an original Damon. I can't take him."Cassandra eventually says making Damon let out a breath he didn't know he was holding in. She may be able to land a few punches but Klaus was still way older than her, he would win in a heartbeat.

"All I ask is for you to try." Damon tells her in a thankful tone as he was glad that she didn't hang up on him the minute he asked. Cassandra closes her eyes for a second, knowing that if Klaus didn't want to kill her before, he will now. And attacking him would certainly end in her demise but Jenna couldn't suffer for her mistakes. The only reason all this was happening was because she stopped Klaus from doing the sacrifice in 1492. Funny, she never thought she'd have to try to stop it again.

β€’Β°β€’Β°β€’Β°β€’Β°β€’Β°β€’Β°β€’Β°β€’Β°β€’Β°β€’Β°β€’

IT WASN'T HARD TO FIND WHERE THEY WERE, Damon had given her the coordinates. It was just difficult to convince herself to actually attack Klaus. It wasn't like he was going to go easy on her because it was her. Maybe on a different day but not the night of his sacrifice. This was the night he had been waiting for, for a thousand years now. Cassandra could see Klaus standing over Jenna in the distance, a stake in his hand with a smirk on his face. She knew it was now or never. Closing her eyes, she takes a deep breath, trying to prep herself mentally. Just as Klaus starts to bring the stake down, Cassandra speeds over and attacks him making the man only graze Jenna's heart, not killing her.

Klaus throws the attacker off of him before turning around only to falter at the sight of Cassandra. That didn't last for long as pure rage fills his eyes. "What are you doing?" He asks angrily as he faces her, dodging a few of her punches before speeding her against one of the trees harshly. Cassandra only kicks his leg causing him to buckle before landing one in his stomach, allowing her to get free as he crumpled in pain for a split second.

"I can't let you kill her." Cassandra says as she speeds towards him again, throwing a punch at which he catches. Klaus clenches his jaw as he twists her arm, throwing her away from him. Cassandra catches herself though before knocking him down enough so she could wrap an arm around his throat in a tight hold. Klaus only elbows her in the gut, switching their positions quickly.

"I don't want to kill you, love. Stay out of this." He tells her as he now had her pressed against his chest, one of his hands locking around her neck while the other was secured around her waist, holding her steady.

"You know I can't do that." She tells him as she breathes heavily, trying to get out of the hold he had on her. Klaus lets out a frustrated sigh as he tightens his grip. "She's innocent, Nik. Don't take her life when there's so many evil vampires you can choose from." Cassandra pleads him as she held his hand back far enough so he wasn't in complete control of the situation. She could see the wheels turning in his head as he tried to figure out what to do. Elena had then noticed something creeping up behind the pair, something with Amber eyes.

"Cassandra!" A voice calls out which Cassandra recognized to be the dopplegangers. That made her lose focus allowing Klaus to throw her a couple feet away, Cassandra hitting the ground with a loud thud. She lets out a sound of pain before getting back up on her feet.

"Now is not the time for chit chat, Elena." Cassandra groans as she kicks Klaus back, not that he stumbles very far. Klaus had looked over at the doppleganger curiously for a moment before turning his attention back to the girl who was trying to attack him.

"No, behind you!" She tells the girl trying to gesture to something that was sneaking up behind her. Cassandra furrows her eyebrows, wondering why Elena was trying to distract her from Klaus who was staring at her quite angrily.

"What?" Cassandra asks as her eyes stay trained on Klaus, sneaking glances at Elena who had a terrified expression on her face. There wasn't anytime to elaborate on her question as a growl rang out through the night.

"Cassandra look out!" Elena screams at her but it was too late, something had tackled Cassandra to the ground. Her eyes were wide as she makes contact with what it was. A werewolf. It couldn't be Jules because she was long dead, there was only one other werewolf. She should have killed Tyler Lockwood when she had the chance. But he was about to beat her to the punch. Before she has a chance to defend herself, a sickening crack is heard as he takes a bite out of her shoulder making her let out a deafening scream. The werewolf was quickly thrown off of her with incredible force but the pain was already coursing through her body.

"No, no, no." She mutters to herself, tears flooding her eyes as she realized what had just happened. She was bit. A werewolf bit her. And now she was going to die. Cassandra was supposed to be getting her freedom but instead she was meeting death. A figure leans over her and she realizes it was Klaus, his rage and anger had completely disappeared, now being filled with concern and hurt.

"Love, can you hear me?" He asks as he puts his hands on either side of her face. Klaus wished he had been fast enough to save her before she was bit but he was too clouded by anger to realize what Elena was trying to warn them about.

"I'm dead." Cassandra states as she cries, staring at him, not letting her eyes waver from his. Klaus shakes his head, not accepting that fate for her, especially after he had been told that his blood, his hybrid blood could be a possible cure for a werewolf bite.

"You're not dead, love." He assures her as his hand hovers over the bite, trying to hide his fear the best he could because he didn't want her to freak out.

"Werewolf bites are lethal to vampires!" She says alarmingly as she gives him a blunt expression.

"After the sacrifice, I can help you. Just hang on." He tells her quickly as he didn't want her worrying any longer because it could make the infection spread quicker which is not what they needed to happen.

"W-what?" She asks in a shaky voice as she breathes heavily, wincing at the pain. Cassandra glances at Elena who was just staring at her sadly and still in mild shock at witnessing what she had.

"You just--" Klaus stops as he gazes into her eyes, letting her see the raw emotion and pain in them. Seeing the woman he loved dying was not something he expected to ever happen. "Hang on for just a few more minutes, please love." He pleads with her as his hand runs softly through her hair. A few more tears leave her eyes as she stares up at the man. Cassandra could feel the venom moving through her body and she didn't know why she could already feel it moving towards her heart. Rose had died slowly after getting bitten but with Cassandra it was moving like clockwork.

"Let me be with her." Elena pipes up making Klaus glance over at her, not wanting to let the girl move even an inch. He looks back down at Cassandra for a moment before standing up. "I've dealt with this before, please." She begs the man who hesitantly nods at Greta who widens the fire circle so Elena could move over to be next to Cassandra. The girl kneels down beside the raven haired vampire, her eyebrows immediately furrowing as she sees the sickly veins and distort colour spreading. "It took Rose over a day to die.. why is it happening so fast?" Elena asks worriedly as she looks up at Klaus who was just staring down at Cassandra, not moving an inch. He didn't know what to do or say to make it better, all he knew was that he had to finish what he had started tonight. Because he truly didn't have an answer for the doppleganger, he didn't know why Cassandra was giving in to the werewolf bite so fast.

"Katherine." Her voice pipes up catching both of their attentions. Elena had realized the name Cassandra had called her and made the connection that it really was happening was too fast if she was already picturing the girl as Katherine. "I'm sorry, Kat." Cassandras voice was so soft that Elena had barely heard it. Klaus didn't have any trouble though as his vampire hearing had made it quite clear. Elena looks at the girl with a sorrow expression, running a hand through the girls hair, putting on a small smile.

"It's okay." Elena says, trying to calm the girl down. She didn't know if this is what Katherine would say but a part of her felt like it was. The brunette may be heartless, a bitch and purely selfish but not when it came to Cassandra. If Katherine knew the girl was dying, she would be doing everything in her power to get to her.

"No. I ruined your life." Cassandra states with a shake of her head as a couple tears drop down her face as her eyes burn into Elena's. The doppleganger had never seen the girl so vulnerable before and she never realized that her and Katherine were so close, close enough for Cassandra to cry for and apologize to. "I introduced you to Klaus, I made you run for your life." She adds with a frown, stroking Elena's cheek as the girl glances at Klaus for a moment. They both knew she was hallucinating but neither of them wanted to worry the girl or interrupt her.

"Kat, we need to leave. Now." Cassandra states as she rushes into Katherine's bedroom. The girl was slightly startled but a look of concern washed over her features as she watched her friend rush around frantically. Katherine furrows her eyebrows for a moment before standing up from her bed, a small frown appearing for a second.

"But I was just about to head to meet Elijah." The girl says with a pure smile on her face, lighting up after saying the man's name. Cassandra falters at this but doesn't let it stop her from grabbing a few things for their journey.

"No. You and I are running. We are getting far away from here." Cassandra tells her as she turns to pulls the girl along towards the door of the bedroom. Katherine didn't want to go anywhere though until she knew why they had to leave so quickly.

"Just tell me what is going on, please Cass." Katherine asks as she stops the girl in her step, looking at her expectantly. Cassandra saw the innocent expression on her friends face and she was about to ruin that. She was about to change the innocent, loving girl forever. But it was better than her being dead.

"He's going to kill you." She states watching the fear form in Katherine's eyes as she takes a couple steps back from the girl. "Nik." Cassandra elaborates just incase Katherine thought it was her who was going to take her life.

"W-what?" Her voice cracks as she stares at the raven haired vampire in shock. Why did Klaus want to kill her? Katherine didn't understand why the man would want to do such a thing.

"He needs to sacrifice you in order to break his curse to become a hybrid." Cassandra explains to her, Katherine already knowing of the two brothers being vampires. She just thought they were like Cassandra and that they would never harm her.

"But why me?" She questions with furrowed eyebrows as her eyes flicker around the room.

"Now is not the time for questions, I will answer them later but right now we have to go." Cassandra says as she starts to pull the girl once again but Katherine only cries softly as she grips the girls hand, wanting to stop for another second.

"I-im scared, Cass." She admits as the girl turns to face the terrified girl who had been brought into this whole mess. If Cassandra knew Klaus's true intentions when she had first met Katherine, she probably would have never revealed her to the brothers.

"I know. And I'm sorry I didn't tell you before but I am going to protect you. I promise." Cassandra could see the hesitance in the girls eyes as she moves them to the ground, avoiding eye contact.Β  "Kat, look at me." She says and it took Katherine a couple seconds before she finally brought her eyes up, a frown on her face. "We are going to be fine. We are going to survive this." She states with a stern expression on her face. She needed to act strong for the woman.

"But what if we don't." Katherine doubts as she sniffles, wiping her tears quickly.

"I will die before I let anything happen to you." She assures the woman as she places her hands on either side of the girls face, gazing into the woman's eyes. Katherine nods for a split second, gulping as she couldn't believe they really had to run.

"I love you, you're the only family I have." Katherine admits since her family had disowned her after having a baby out of wedlock. Luckily she had Cassandra who had taken her to England immediately and given her shelter.

"I guess that makes us sisters." Cassandra replies with a small smile on her face, one which Katherine returns. The two girls gaze at each other for a second longer before Cassandra whisks them off, nothing but silence being left where their presence was.

"I forgive you." Elena's voice takes her out of the flashback, causing Cassandra to stare at her with unbelievable shock clear on her face.

"Y-you do?" She questions in an almost inaudible tone, gazing into the woman's eyes. Elena only nods her head, her eyes flickering over the girl.

"It's all over now. You don't have to feel bad anymore." Elena assures her with a sweet smile on her face, tears clear in her eyes as she takes a shaky breath. Cassandra reaches for the girls hand which Elena quickly covers with both of hers.

"It hurts." Cassandra whimpers as she grasps at the girls shirt. Elena holds onto her tightly, a tear slipping down her cheek. Her eyes flicker up to meet Stefan's who had been silently trying to get the stake out of his back the entire time. The pain in his eyes was clear as he was watching the girl who he thought of as a friend, die. She sniffles, leaning down to press a kiss to the girls forehead, stroking her hair off of her face. Elena could see the slight smile form on Cassandra's face as she nestled her head into the girl, finding comfort in her actions.

"Aren't you going to do anything?" Elena snaps at Klaus, gaining a new found confidence as the man had made no efforts to help Cassandra in any way.

"I can't. Not until the sacrifice is complete." Klaus says as he gulps lightly, his eyes moving back down to Cassandra for a moment. If this didn't work, the love of his life would be dead and it would be all his fault. Anger floods his veins as he turns around and heads back towards Jenna who was still gasping for breath, the stake still being close to her heart. Cassandra's eyes follow him, tears slipping out of them. He wasn't going to help her. He couldn't. There was no cure for a werewolf bite. She was going to die before she even really got to live. Cassandra stares blankly into the space next to her before her vision is clouded by darkness.

HER EYES OPEN SLOWLY, light flooding them as a groan leaves her lips. Cassandra couldn't feel the pain of the werewolf bite anymore so she was either still in a fantasy world or very much dead and this was heaven. Who was she kidding, she would end up in hell. Her eyes took a little readjusting to the brightness but she could recognize a curly haired brunette leaning over her. Her eyebrows furrow as she didn't know how Katherine was with her right now, Klaus still had her in his possession.

"Katherine?" She asks confused as she groans, trying to sit up. Katherine helps her, placing a hand on the woman's back in order to help her slowly. Once Cassandra is eye level with her, the woman offers a kind smile.

"Hey. You're okay." Katherine tells her, tears In her eyes as she didn't think that it would actually work. Klaus and Elijah had never seen such emotion from the doppleganger since 1492 but they weren't really surprised, the two girls shared a connection.

"W-what happened?" Cassandra glances around the room, her eyes noticing the two originals standing not too far away from her. Katherine only moves her shirt to the side, her eyes widening as a wide smile fills her face.

"It healed." She says, pure happiness in her voice as she wasn't going to lose Cassandra that day. When Katherine first saw the girl when Klaus had brought her into the apartment, her heart had stopped. She thought the woman was dead until she heard the faint breaths coming from her lips.

"How?" She asks curiously before meeting Klaus's eyes as everyone seemed to be looking at him as well. "Your blood is the cure? But there isnt--" Cassandra seemed to put it together but how was that possible? There was no known cure for it, well until now apparently.

"There is now." Klaus answers her shortly as he glances down at the ground.

"That's why you told me to wait till after the sacrifice." She says when realization hits her Making her stare up at the man who was seemingly avoiding her gaze for some reason. Her eyes then flicker to Elijah who was surprised that she even made eye contact with him. Offering a small smile, the man returns it once more.

"I can't believe we survived five hundred years together and you almost got killed by a werewolf bite." Katherine pipes up with a snort causing Cassandra to burst out laughing at the fact. It was truly depressing how they had survived so much together and she was about to die for a merely little bite.

"Its kinda stupid." She says with a nod, a bright smile on her face as she meets her eyes.

"I'm sorry." Katherine apologizes, knowing she didn't really need to but she just had to say it out loud. Cassandra nods her head, leaning her forehead against the girls.

"Me too." Her voice was soft, looking at Katherine as she brushes the girls hair slightly. The Petrova smiles at her before engaging her in a much needed hug. Cassandra returns it, holding onto the girl tightly before pulling away and facing the two originals once again. "So you did it. Elijah didn't kill you." Cassandra says, trying not too sound too optimistic about the man's failed perish. Klaus shrugs his shoulders, finishing his drink before placing the glass down on the counter.

"Well, I promised he would be reunited with our family." Klaus says as he looks towards his brother who was gazing down at Cassandra. She offers him a small smile, deciding to be nice instead of completly ignoring him. But Klaus's words registered in her brain making her eyebrows furrow.

"What?" She says as she flickers her eyes between the brothers. Klaus was actually going to let Elijah see his family? She didn't think Klaus would even want anyone to know if their whereabouts.

"I hear you're skipping town without me." Katherine catches her attention away from the original. She didn't want Cassandra falling into their little trap again.

"I feel like I deserve it now. I almost died." Cassandra tells her making Katherine stick out her tongue playfully making the girl smile before it fades away. "Jenna was a good person." She murmers catching the attention of the people in the room. "This is one of the many reasons, I can't come back to you Nik." She tells him as she shakes her head, knowing Jenna had to be dead meaning he had also killed Elena. He took so many lives just so he could be more powerful.

"We'll see." Klaus says as he didn't think she was telling the truth. He knew for a fact that she would eventually be his again. It was just a matter of time.

"You were out for a while, I was afraid you weren't going to awaken." Elijah finally talks as he looks at Cassandra. She only frowns a little bit, looking down at the ground as she fiddles with her fingers. Klaus couldn't help but glare daggers at his brother for even touching a hair on her head.

"How'd you get out last night?" Cassandra turns her attention to Katherine who looks at her confused, not seeing how there was even a way for her to get out since Klaus was still alive, therefore the compulsion keeping her trapped was still there.

"I didn't." She says as she raises an eyebrow, looking over at Klaus as he only avoids everyone's gaze. Cassandra sighs, realizing the venom must of made her hallucinate or confuse the two doppleganger's.

"Oh, Elena. Makes sense." Cassandra mutters, feeling actual sadness towards the girls death as she had spent her last few moments trying to help her and keeping her calm. Elena didn't have to pretend she was Katherine but she did so that Cassandra could feel better. "Who I see is also dead." She says with a tight smile, sending a not so nice look Klaus's way.

"You just keep popping up don't you?" Klaus suddenly says as a figure stands at the door of alarics apartment. Cassandra turns her head to see Stefan standing there, a stoic expression on his face.

"Stefan? What are you doing here." Cassandra asks him as she finally stands up from where she was sitting, soon regretting it as a wave of dizzyness washed over her from the lack of blood she had in her system.

"I'm glad you're okay." He says, ignoring what she asked as he offered a kind smile before looking back at Klaus who was patiently waiting. "And I have the answer to your question." Stefan says making Cassandra furrow her eyebrows as she didn't know what the man was talking about.

"Well, it's gonna have to wait a sec, I have an obligation to my brother that needs my attention." Klaus tells the man as he sets his glass down, grabbing something from next to it as Elijah looks at Stefan who was glancing between them curiously.

"You understand how much family means or you wouldn't be here. My brother has made me a promise he'd reunite me with my own." Elijah tells Stefan before turning to his brother who was still facing away from him. Cassandra didn't know what that meant, was Klaus going to undagger his siblings finally or leave them all to rot.

"And so I shall." Klaus says before turning around quickly and daggering Elijah in the chest. The man let's out a surprised gasp before dropping to the floor, Klaus's eyes following the movements.

"What the hell are you doing?!" Cassandra screams as she rushes over towards the man only to be stopped by Klaus who holds her back. She fights against his grip, not wanting Elijah to be dead for her mistakes. The original only pulls back his grasp a little bit to meet her eyes.

"Do not undagger him." He compels her, holding her face still as she tried to look away from him. When he was done, Klaus finally let the hold on her go, trying to ignore the deadly glare she was giving him.

"Compulsion? Really?" She snaps at him, feeling the rage flood her body as she couldn't believe he had actually compelled her. Klaus had never once done that in their time together so of course she was furious he thought she needed to be controlled by him.

"Now, what am I going to do with you?" Klaus ignores her rage filled looks as he turns to Stefan. The man suddenly flashes towards him, stabbing him near the heart with a stake causing Stefan to gasp. "Do you feel that? It's scraping against your heart. The slightest little movement and you're dead." He says with a smirk playing on his lips, Cassandra staring at the situation not knowing what to do.

"Nik, stop." She pleads as she takes a step forward, hoping he would let the man go if she asked him to. Who was she kidding though, he may love her but that wasn't enough to stop him from killing.

"He's just trying to help his brother." Katherine adds, actually feeling terrified for Stefan, part of her hating to see the man she once loved in pain. Katherine was always going to be in love with Elijah though, but that would never happen since he was so blindly into her best friend.

"I know you have a cure. I'll make you a deal, just give me the cure and I'll do whatever you want." Stefan tells the man who squints his eyes for a second before pulling the wood out from his chest although he still didn't look fully convinced.

"Stefan." Cassandra says in a shocked tone as she didn't know why the man was suddenly going to do everything that Klaus says. What did the man need from the original?

"Problem is, I don't know if you'd be any good to me the way you are now." Klaus tells the man with a shake of his head.

"Wait, help Damon? What happened." Cassandra finally asks as she remembers Katherine's words about Stefan wanting to help Damon in some way. But it all clicked in her brain,Β  why else would they need Klaus's help? "How many damn wolves were running around last night, holy fuck." She groans as she couldn't believe her and Damon had both been bitten last night.

"You are just shy of useless, Stefan." The original tells the Salvatore, ignoring Cassandra completely until she decides to speak up again.

"Then I'll come with you." Cassandra blurts out making Katherine and Stefan look at her like she had gone insane. Klaus glances at her curiously, almost not believing she was offering to come with him. "Just give Damon the cure." She says as she stares at Klaus who was slightly surprised at the woman's offer. It did make him feel jealous that she would give up her life to save another man. A man who he had put together they had a special connection. Klaus didn't know how special but he particularly didn't want to.

"Cassandra, you don't have to--" Stefan begins to deny, shaking his head as he meets the girls eyes. Cassandra only looks at him sadly, knowing Damon was the only family the boy had left. She knew what it felt like to have no one and she didn't want Stefan to ever feel that way.

"He may be a pain in our ass, but I do care for him. I don't want him to die." Cassandra tells Stefan who glances at her thankfully but he didn't want the girl to lose her freedom just as soon as she got it. But it didn't seem like she was going to listen to him anytime soon.

"As much as I would love your company, you are only half of the deal." He states as his eyes flicker over to Stefan who was trying to keep his emotions in check. "I heard about this one vampire, crazy bloke. Always on and off the wagon for decades. When he was off, he was magnificent. 1917, you went into Monterrey and wiped out an entire migrant village. A true rippah. Sound familiar?" Klaus asks with a smirk playing on his face. Cassandra had heard about that, she just didn't know who it was.

"I haven't been that way in a very long time." Stefan tells him in a blunt voice, not wanting to think back to the time where he was a ruthless monster who killed everyone in his path, even children.

"Well, that's the vampire I can make a deal with. That is the kind of talent I could use when I leave this town" "You however my love, are welcome anytime."

"I don't go with you unless Damon gets the cure and you release Katherine." She says sternly making Katherine's eyes light up for a moment. The girl shifts her eyes between the pair, Klaus obviously not expecting her new shown confidence.

"Are you really negotiating with me?" He asks with a slight amused smirk on his face but she could see the anger hiding in his eyes. Cassandra doesn't let it falter though as she takes a step closer to him, making his eyes roam over her once. Anyone could cut the sexual tension in the room with knife but Katherine and Stefan weren't about to lose their hearts mentioning it to either of them.

"I usually don't negotiate but I can't kill you so, you see where I'm at a loss." Cassandra says as her eyes flicker to his lips just for a split second. But that second made her realize that she didn't have as much control as she thought she did. Klaus was standing in front of her, threatening her friends, and all she could think about was having his lips crushing her. It seemed Klaus was having the same thought but he was allowing his eyes to stay on her lips before turning to Katherine who froze.

"Katerina. Come here." He tells her, signalling for her to come closer. Cassandra took this opportunity to back away from the man slightly, at least enough so she couldn't practically feel his body touching hers. Klaus only grabs Katherine's arms before biting it causing her to gasp out. Cassandra's eyes widen, fear lacing them as she knew that Klaus could easily let Katherine die if he wanted to. Making eye contact with Stefan, Klaus bites his arm with a smirk before shoving it in Katherine's mouth.

"You want your cure? There it is." He tells the man, taking back his arm as Katherine's wound healed. She sighs relieved, her eyes meeting Cassandra's who had the same shocked expression on her face. He didn't have to go such extreme lengths to tell Stefan his blood could heal werewolf bites.

"Your blood is the cure." Stefan says with a sigh as he couldn't believe he would have to make a deal with Klaus in order to save his brothers life.

"You've got to love mother nature. Now, let's talk. You and I." Klaus says as he stares at Stefan who was waiting for the deal the original was going to make him. "There it is. You want your cure? How about a decade long bender." He suggests as he raises an eyebrow at Stefan.

"He just lost his girlfriend because of you and now you want to go partying?" She scoffs as she crosses her arms against her chest. Klaus only ignores her, moving towards Stefan who stares at him.

"You know I have big plans for you when we leave this town." Klaus announces as he finishes off the blood bag he was drinking. Cassandra could feel the veins forming under her eyes but fought them away as she could feel her urges try and take over.

"I'm not like that anymore." Stefan says with a shake of his head, not wanting to kill innocent people for Klaus's gain.

"Well, that's too bad. You could have made a hell of a wingman." Klaus lets out a dramatic sigh before turning to continue to get ready to leave town. He was taking Cassandra no matter what, even if he had to force her to come with him.

"Wait." Stefan says, closing his eyes for a moment as he thinks to himself. If he didn't do this, Damon was going to die. It was the only way to save him.

"Now that's more like it." Klaus says, a smirking forming as he turns back around, holding up a blood bag. "I want you to join me for a drink." He tells Stefan before sliding the bag over to him, only for Cassandra to stop it and throw it at the wall. Klaus lets out a frustrated sigh as he meets the eyes of the raven haired vampire.

"You do not get to treat people like puppets. Stefan Is not drinking anything, you are giving us the cure." She demands in a strong voice as she pushes the man back a couple steps. Klaus resists enough to not retaliate as he moves away from her.

"Don't raise your voice at me, love." He warns her as his fists clench together, tossing another blood bag Stefan's way. Cassandra moves in front of him yet again making Klaus growl, glaring at the woman.

"I can do what I fucking want. You do not control me. Take your daddy issues and all your internal loneliness and leave us the hell alone. If you don't want this deal then I'm not asking for your blood again." She says angrily, taking a step forward only to be smashed into the wall behind her. Cassandra lets out a small gasp as she feels a hand around her throat. Stefan and Katherine's eyes widen as they both take a step forward but ultimately stop, knowing they could never take the original. Klaus was paying no mind to the them as his eyes were burning holes in Cassandra. She met his eyes, her breath shaky as she tried to get a breath to reach her lungs.

"Do not push me." Klaus's voice was affirmative but also soft as he kept his touch on her light. Cassandra stares back at him, she wasn't scared for her life but she knew he would easily snap her neck if she didn't listen to him. After a few moments, Klaus let's her go and turns back to Stefan who was looking at Cassandra with sad eyes. "Now drink." He states sternly as he stares at the man in front of him. Stefan lets out a displeased sound before staring at the blood bag in his hands. Cassandra gives him a look of pity as he takes the first sip of it. "Finish it. All of it." Stefan glares over at the man but does as he says. "You do everything I say and I save your brother, that's the deal." Klaus says to the man before tossing another blood bag in his direction. "Again." He demands making Stefan glare at him but he starts emptying another blood bag. He had to do it for Damon, there was no way he was letting him die. Klaus smirks to himself before turning to Cassandra who was tiredly leaning against the kitchen counter. Her skin was a sickly color as she was fluttering her eyes shut every couple seconds. A sigh leaves his lips as he bites into his arm before holding it out to her. Cassandra only eyes it for a moment before glancing away. Klaus sits down next to where she was, looking at her expectantly.

"Just drink it, love." He tells her as he holds his arm closer to which she hesitantly flickers her eyes between it and his eyes. "You're still weak." Klaus points out with a small frown on his face. It quickly leaves when she lets out a sigh, sitting lightly on his lap which surprised him but it was only so she had better access to the actual source she wanted to use. Piercing her fangs into his neck, she suddenly moans at the taste of his blood running down her throat. Hearing the sounds in her ear brought him back centuries ago, making him close his eyes for a split second. Klaus allows his hand to loosely wrap around her waist to keep her steady as she drank from him, one hand on his shoulder as the other was pulling at the strands of his hair. "You always did prefer the neck." He states with a little chuckle, licking his bottom lip as he lets out a low groan. Cassandra tightens her grip, moaning as she increases her intake. Klaus goes to nudge her away but she only slaps his hand giving him a disapproving sound, indulging in him as she pleased. The man allows her to continue for a few more seconds before tapping her thigh twice as a signal for her to stop. Cassandra whines but pulls away from the man reluctantly. It was always his way of telling her went to stop, it also helped her learn control. She notices the blood dripping down his neck, moving forward once more and allowing her tongue to collect it. Sucking at the open skin before the wound closes fully. Pulling away finally, she meets Klaus's eyes, hers dazed as she was still feeling the high of his blood. He smirks lightly at her as he rubs his thumb along her bottom lip, wiping the blood off before allowing her to clean it off.

"It made me feel closer to you." She finally answers his question as she continues to stare at him, noticing the features on his face that got her to fall in love with him. His eyes captivated her, their blue color lighting up in the sun, the tiny odd freckles that scattered his skin were sun kissed, he had this tiny scar beside his eyebrow that she had always kissed whenever they were cuddling together and his lips, his lips looked so- Cassandra stops herself, realizing how deep she was. Clearing her throat, she glances over to Stefan who had just finished with the last blood bag. "You don't have to do that to Stefan." Cassandra changes the subject as her breath shakes, noticing the non existent distance between them. Klaus only sighs, glancing at the man before meeting her eyes once more.

"You don't understand. You will soon." He tells her discreetly which makes her want to slap him. Why did he have to be so secretive all of the time.

"Understand what?" Cassandra questions as her eyebrows furrow slightly, not getting why Klaus even wanted Stefan in the first place.

"Your eyes still sparkle." Klaus says as a smile creeps up on his lips. Cassandra's heart beats faster, practically exhilarating at the man stroking her cheek.

"Why did you save me?" She asks, her voice soft as she couldn't help but admire the man for a second longer. Klaus was too enhanced in his own gaze to realize.

"You really have to ask that question, love?" He questions as he brushed a strand of her hair behind her ear. Cassandra gulps, backing away a little from him so he didn't have any affect on her. "I didn't really get a thank you for it." Klaus mentions expectantly at to which he simply recieved a pat on the shoulder. He stares at her for a moment, trying to hide the amusement on his face. "I was hoping for a little more than that." He says with a knowing expression which only makes her squint her eyes at him. She shakes her head as she raises an eyebrow at him.

"I still don't forgive you. You broke my heart over five hundred years ago... I'll make you wait for at least half of that." She teases him with a playful smirk, winking at him. Klaus laughs, knowing she was mocking him because he usually didn't kill people who betrayed him right away.

"Then it's good that we have forever" Klaus tells her with a small smile, his eyes gazing at her. Cassandra couldn't help but feel her heart flutter at his words, her eyes roaming over his face for a second. She saw the love he was showing, there was no denying his feelings for her but she couldn't just go back to him. Not after everything that he had done.

"That's if I forgive you." She tells him, pointing her finger at him. Klaus only raises an eyebrow, smirking at her as he takes a step closer to her, his eyes moving down her slowly. Cassandra rolls her eyes as she pushes him away from her. "You're not starting off so great." With that, Cassandra twirls around, hitting him with her hair before going to sit with Stefan who was staring blankly at the floor. She felt bad for the man, he had tried so hard to stay off of drinking humans but people always had to ruin it for him. Placing her hand on his shoulder, she gives it a squeeze which he looks up at. Cassandra offers him a small smile which he hesitantly returns. One thing that she was grateful for, at least she had Stefan to suffer with.

LIFTING HIS HAND OFF OF HIS BROTHER'S COFFIN, Klaus moves away in order to allow a couple people to take his family away. Cassandra was staring at Elijah's coffin the entire time. She didn't think he deserved this at all. Cassandra may have told him she didnt want him in her life but that didn't mean that she didn't still care for him. Elijah had spared Klaus's life and what did he get in return?

"As promised brother, you have been reunited with our family. Put him with the others, we are leaving town tonight." Klaus says as he turns away from them, meeting the eyes of Cassandra who was glaring daggers at him. He only sighs as he ignores her judging stare.

"You should be thankful you even have a family. I have no one thanks to you." She says as she crosses her arms, shaking her head at him. Klaus only glances at her, raising his eyebrows expectantly before rolling his eyes lightly.

"Don't be like that, love." He says as he takes a few steps towards her. Cassandra only scoffs at the nickname he always says to try and make it seem like he genuinely cared about her. He also thought it had some type of affect on her.

"Kol was my best friend, Rebekah was my sister and yet you dagger them for decades. Kat has to run again because you won't let a fucking grudge go and--" Cassandra suddenly stops, not wanting to say Elijah's name because of what had just happened. Especially after her emotional goodbye with the man, one at which turned into an actual one since he was now dead. Klaus scoffs, glaring at her as he knew exactly what she was going to say.

"No, say his name. He's my brother after all." Klaus sneers at her, turning away from her for a second but she only flashes in front of him so he was unable to walk away from her.

"Elijah deserves to be able to be free, I may have said goodbye to him but he spared you, Nik. And what did you do?" She scoffs, hatred and sarcasm in her tone. Klaus only glares angrily at her, knowing the true intentions why his brother even saved him.

"He only saved me to save you and the rest of our family." Klaus states in an angry voice as he stares down at the girl who falters at his words.

"What?" She asks as her eyes widen a little bit, her voice softening as she takes a deep breath.

"I told him that if he killed me, then you would also die. The only reason I'm here is because he wanted to save you." Klaus snaps at her, obviously not happy with the situation. Cassandra frowns at him for a moment, silently hating herself for bringing such a block between the brothers. "He betrayed me." He adds as he clenches his jaw, turning away from the girl for a moment. Cassandra only scoffs as she rolls her eyes, hating his hypocrisy.

"So did I!" She yells at him causing Klaus to back her into a wall, anger laced in his eyes. Cassandra doesn't back down though, shaking her head. "It's not fair how you punish everyone but me for my mistakes. Katherine only ran because I told her about the sacrifice and Elijah was only protecting me from you, yeah sure we fell for each other but we were close for five hundred years, and he didn't fucking kill you so that should count for something." Cassandra explains to him frustratingly and Klaus only stares at her, licking his bottom lip. He seemed to think to himself for a moment as his eyes roam over her. She didn't know what he was going to say but she wasn't going to like it. Klaus suddenly straightens his demeanor although he doesn't move away from the girl.

"So? Did Katerina make it in time?" He asks making Cassandra furrow her eyebrows but as she glances to her right, she notices Stefan standing there. His eyes were moving between them, confusion clear on his face but he didn't ask about what was happening.

"You won't be seeing her again, you know." Stefan says as he crosses his arms against his chest.

"Because she's on vervain?" Klaus asks with a risen eyebrow, a sly smirk on his lips. Stefan looks at him curiously, not knowing how the man had figured it out. "I've been around along time Stefan. I never get played as a fool. Besides, she won't get far. You'll help me see to that." He states as he finally moves away from Cassandra allowing her to finally breathe. Stefan sends her a knowing look at which she secretly flips him off for.

"What is it you really want from me." He asks with a roll of his eyes as he wanted the man to stop playing games and actually tell him why he was so interested.

"All will be explained in time. Once we leave this retched little town." Klaus says with a sigh as he tries to gain Cassandra's attention again but fails as she was too interested in her shoes to notice his longing looks.

"Then are we done here? Can we go." Stefan asks, boredom laced in his voice as he glanced at Cassandra who was picking at her nails, seemingly over the conversation already.

"Not quite. You see I have a gift for you." Klaus announces before gesturing at something. Cassandra furrows her eyebrows before seeing a blonde woman walk into the room. "Come here sweetheart, don't be afraid." He tells the shaking girl who glances around the room. Klaus brushes the girls hair off of her neck, Stefan trying to control his urges as he stares at the girls carotid.

"Where's my gift?" Cassandra asks with a pout on her lips as she crosses her arms against her chest. Klaus chuckles, licking his bottom lip as he shifts his attention to the girl who was upset she didn't get a girl as well.

"I thought you would want something more, special." He says with a smirk, Cassandra knowing exactly what he meant. She wasn't going to complain though since his blood was heavenly. Taking a step forward, Klaus holds out a finger to her, telling her to be patient which makes her roll her eyes.

"See, I want to make sure you honour our deal. That you'll be of use to me." Klaus says as he walks around the woman before letting her go, raising his eyebrow a little bit. "I could've compelled her to behave but a real rippah enjoys the hunt." He tells the man who glances at him before flashing in front of the terrified woman. Stefan's face turns before he indulges in the woman's neck until all of her blood drained from her body. "Now we can go." Klaus says with his signature smirk playing on his lips. His eyes move to Cassandra who was still watching Stefan staring at the dead body at his feet. She meets his gaze, a million different emotions flashing through them as her stomach can't help but twist at the closeness between them. Cassandra knew she had made a mistake by saying she would go with Klaus but there was no turning back now. If she didn't hold up her end of the deal, he could easily kill Damon and she couldn't let that happen. It was going to be an eventful and exhausting couple months but she had to put up with it. At that moment though, she wished she had left in the small window of time that she had.
