CHAPTER FOURTEEN

β€’Β°β€’Β°β€’Β°β€’Β°β€’Β°β€’Β°β€’Β°β€’Β°β€’Β°β€’Β°β€’

TO SAY CASSANDRA WAS SEETHING WOULD BE AN UNDERSTATEMENT. She was livid all the way back to her apartment. She couldn't believe that Elijah would lie to her all this time. After all they've been through he had the audacity to break his one true promise to her. There was a small part that was hoping he was in her apartment so she could cut him out of her life. She was done with people disappointing her. He knew how much Klaus had hurt her by lying to her but he does the exact same thing. Does he think that she would forgive him just because they spent more time together? If he does, he's got a train wreck coming for him. All her life she's dreamed about having her freedom, finding a man who will finally treat her right. She thought she found that in Elijah but apparently she was wrong. Life really said happiness for everyone but her. Even Elena fucking Gilbert got to be happy with Stefan. Granted, Klaus is hunting her down to kill her but she has a thousand people who would die for her. Cassandra just wanted one person who would do that for her. She couldn't help but think of all the times Klaus protected her from all the dangers that lurked around them. It was one of the things people actually admired about him, the way he was so protective and caring towards Cassandra. Turns out that was all an act that people believed.

Slamming the door shut, she walks into her living room about ready to rip someone's head off. She didn't even register the suited man who was standing next to her couch. All she saw was the colour red, her fists clenched together. When Elijah noticed her, a warm smile crept onto his face. He didn't seem to notice her hostile behaviour.Β  He puts the glass that he was holding in his hand down on the table next to him. The sound registers in Cassandra's ears as her head turns to finally make contact with Elijah. "Cassandra, I was wondering when you would--" He starts to say but he is cut off when she harshly shoves him back causing him to stumble. Elijah stares at her in complete shock, wondering what made her snap at him all of a sudden. Cassandra continues pushing him before he grabs her arms to make her stop.

"You are a fucking liar." She finally sneers at him as she rips her arms back from his grip. Elijah only continues to stare at her with furrowed eyebrows as a wave of confusion washes over him. The pit in his stomach told him that he already knew what was wrong but he desperately didn't want it to be real. He could see the utter betrayal on the raven haired girl's face.

"What do you mean?" He questions her as he goes to take a step closer to her but she only backs away from him. His jaw clenches a little as he can see the wall she is building around herself. Cassandra only scoffs, rolling her eyes as she can feel the tears creeping up, ready to expose out in the open. Elijah was trying to manipulate the situation, act like he didn't know what he lied to her about. This is the same type of behaviour that caused her to leave Klaus.

"God, you're gonna keep up the act aren't you? Promising that you'll never hurt me. That you'll always be truthful to me?" She states, anger evident in her tone as she was practically turning red. Elijah gulps a little bit, knowing he wouldn't be able to avoid this but he needed a way out of this situation. He couldn't lose her now, not after everything he has done to finally make her his. Cassandra's eyes were burning into his skull as she was waiting for him to own up to what he has done. To what he made her have to suffer through for five hundred years.

"I am. I am not sure what you are on about?" His voice cracks a little bit, giving him away evidently but he doesn't let it dampen his composure.Β  Cassandra could feel her heart rip into pieces. He knew. He knew what she was talking about but he was still keeping up this act. Still lying to her. How could he possibly think this is okay after everything they have been through. After he knew all of what she had went through with Klaus. After he was the true reason that Cassandra and Klaus ever broke up. Her expression softens for a moment, hoping to give Elijah one more minute to come clean to her, to explain to her that maybe it was all a misunderstanding. But he didn't. He stayed silent. That was the last straw for Cassandra.

"What I'm on about?" She mocks him, shaking her head out of clear annoyance and pain. Elijah breaks their eye contact, not being able to lie to her face anymore. He couldn't even bare to see the pain written in her eyes.Β  "How about the conversation you and Nik had the night I left. How he explained to you that all he said was a lie to keep me safe from the men coming after me because of my father." Cassandra explains the memory she had seen not hours before. Elijah's demeanor tenses as he closes his eyes for a moment. He didn't know how she knew about it but it had to have been Klaus who somehow showed her. Showed her the moment where Elijah did the ultimate betrayal. Both to his own brother and the woman he claimed to love. But if he loved her, did he not love her enough to allow her toΒ be happy with the man she was in love with? He saw her happiness and instead of allowing her to have that, he completely ripped it from her all so he could have her for himself. "You kept that from me. You let me believe that everything he said was true. That he never loved me." A tear falls down her cheek as her voice gets ever so softer, all her emotions bottling up towards the surface ready to explode. Elijah couldn't stand to see the pain that he had caused her but he had done it for a good reason, although Cassandra might not see it that way.

"Cassandra, I can explain." Elijah pipes up, his eyes lifting from the ground but not settling on Cassandra yet. He couldn't even look at her, he was too weak. A humourless laugh escapes from the girl's lips as she wanted to hear his so called excuses. Of course he had some sort of hero complex explanation that somehow makes everything he did to her okay. But she wasn't the same girl that could be manipulated anymore and she wasn't about to let Elijah weasel his way back in.

"Of course you can." She says in a deafening tone as she crosses her arms against her chest. Klaus and him always came up with excuses. His whole family did. Every single time, she would forgive them but it was time to break that cycle. Elijah reaches for her hand but she only backs up, giving him a death stare as he gulps, stumbling over his words on what to say.

"Niklaus was not a good person. He is even worse now. I was just trying to protect you." Elijah explains only making Cassandra scoff as she shakes her head at him. Who was he to decide who she could be with. She was her own person and he was not allowed to make her decisions for her.

"Protect me or yourself?" Cassandra hissed at him, the words hitting him like bricks to his face. Elijah gulps, his jaw clenching ever so slightly. "Face it, Elijah. The only reason you didn't say anything was because you knew that if Nik and I were still together, this, us would never have happened." She tells him as she gestures between the two of them. Elijah was slightly hurt at the words, but he knew they were true. If nothing ever happened back in 1492, Klaus and Cassandra would most likely still have been together to this day. Cassandra's phone suddenly buzzes making them both look at it. She glances at Elijah for a second before picking it up, noticing it was a text from Elena.

Stefan, Damon and Caroline are in trouble! Jules has them! Please help.

Cassandra sighs a little bit as she licks her bottom lip. She did not want to deal with werewolves right now but if it got her out of here, she didn't care. "I have to go." She says abruptly making Elijah furrow his eyebrows as he shakes his head, not wanting their conversation to end yet.Β  He needed to be able to explain everything that happened between him and Klaus, maybe she would forgive him then.

"Please, we're not done talking about this." He tries to get her to stay as he blocks her path. She stops abruptly, glaring up at him as he wouldn't let her pass. Elijah gives her a pleading expression as he knew that the second she walked out of that door, they were over and their relationship had only just begun.

"No, I have to go save Stefan, Damon and Caroline from the werewolves." She snaps at him, internally grateful that they needed saving because they got her out of this god awful confrontation. Elijah clears his throat as he grabs his phone, going to callΒ  the warlocks that have been helping him.

"Let me do that. I'll send one of my warlocks." Elijah states as he just needed her for a couple more minutes. Maybe then he could convince her that he did it out of her best interest.Β  Cassandra only glares at him, she didn't care what he did anymore and she wasn't exactly going to stop the warlock from going but Elijah wasn't going to stop her either.

"Whatever. You can do what you want. I'm going." She scoffs as she wipes her tears before starting to make her way to her door.Β  Cassandra wasn't in her right mind to be fighting werewolves but in the moment she didn't care. Maybe they could kill her, take all of her pain away. Elijah reaches for her, grabbing her hand in attempt to stop her from leaving him. Feeling his touch, Cassandra tenses up not wanting him anywhere near her. "Don't!" Cassandra screams at him, anger seeping through her veins as she yanks her hand out of his grip. Elijah seemingly flinched at her behaviour,Β  "Just don't." Her voice cracks as a tear strays down her face. She could tell on Elijah's face that he had regretted everything he did to her but she didn't care. It was the fact that he could lie to her all this time and not say anything. They stare at each other for a couple more seconds, Elijah was trying so hard not to break down in front of her, hating the broken expression she had on her face. One that he had caused.

Cassandra only wipes her tears before turning around to make her way to the door. She hesitated grabbing the handle, her hand hovering over it. Elijah was hopeful she would turn around and forgive him but that was not going to happen. Instead, Cassandra turns the handle, walking out the door. It slams shut leaving Elijah alone, and leaving a hole in their relationship that couldn't be repaired.

β€’Β°β€’Β°β€’Β°β€’Β°β€’Β°β€’Β°β€’Β°β€’Β°β€’Β°β€’Β°β€’

THERE WAS EVIDENT VOICES COMING FROM THE WOODS, Cassandra could hear them from miles away. She could also make out the fact that Damon and Stefan were losing to the werewolves. She didn't understand why they didn't just take her in the first place, she could fight them way better than they could. Honestly, if one of them bit her she wouldn't care. Maybe then she could finally be free from all of this. In the distance, she saw the faint shadows of the two vampires who were about to be killed if they didn't give them information. The werewolves didn't even have any idea that the curse wasn't real. They wouldn't gain anything if they broke it.

Sighing, Cassandra vamp speeds over, her hand jolting through the chest of one of the werewolves. His abrupt gasp gained the attention of everyone as they look over to see the older vampire. Some looked scared, some looked pissed since they knew about her affair with Mason. She only gives them a smirk before ripping the man's heart out causing him to fall to the ground with a thud. The heart was still in her hand, blood dripping down her arms. Damon and Stefan were relieved to see the girl, somewhat thinking she wouldn't show up. She was considering just escaping from Mystic Falls but she needed to be able to do that without the fear of looking over her shoulder.

"I hate werewolves" She mutters with a scoff before dropping the heart to the ground. Jules squints at her, an angry glare set on her face since she just killed one of her friends. Cassandra only sends an innocent smile towards the werewolf before taking a step forward. The werewolf's face turns into one of surprise as the light shines on Cassandra's face.

"I know you. Mason was obsessed with you." Jules points out as she clenches her jaw a little bit. Cassandra tilts her head a little bit, giving the wolf a pout.

"Poor guy." She answers before a venomous giggle leaves her lips. All the wolves knew how strong Cassandra was. She wasn't a mystery to them because Mason was always one to tell them about everything she could do. "But he would rather screw a vampire than a dirty little mutt." Cassandra admits, a smirk forming on her lips when she sees the pissed of expression on all of the werewolves faces.

"You may be stronger but there are more of us." Jules responds with a slight growl which didn't intimidate Cassandra in the slightest. The Salvatore's were simply looking between the two women, wondering who was going to make the first move.

"That is very true." Cassandra says with a dramatic sigh as she looks at her nails for a moment. Jules was confused why the girl wasn't attacking her. "Which is why I didn't come alone." She adds and there was only a split second of confusion before all of the werewolves dropped to the ground in pain.

"Elijah keeps his promises. At least some of them." She tells them in a slightly hoarse tone as they see another figure come out of the woods. It was one of the warlocks that were helping Elijah. They were slightly surprised to see him but Elijah did say he would keep them safe for Elena.

"He sent you into a pit full of werewolves." Damon points out with a scoff as he rolls his eyes a little bit. So much for loving her, was his apology sending her to her death because that was pathetic.

"I can clearly take care of myself more than you two."Β  Cassandra states as she raises her eyebrows at the two, giving them a knowing look as they were about to get killed by a bunch of werewolves. They would've been if it wasn't for her and telling Elijah that they were in trouble. Suddenly she grips her head, letting out a pained noise which catches their attention.

"Are you okay?" Caroline asks with widened eyes as she goes to touch her but Stefan held her back. He knew what was happening and didn't want the blonde to get hurt if something happened.

"I'm fine." Cassandra lies as she kneels on the ground, gripping her head. She had her eyes squeezed closed as she was trying to force Klaus out of her head. They were so close to ending it that they couldn't have him coming to town, not yet.

"It's Klaus, right?" He questions as he shares a worried expression with his brother. Both for Cassandra and the fear that Klaus was almost in Mystic Falls. "He's getting closer?" Damon asks as he gulps a little bit, concern in his eyes. His hand was on her shoulder as he knew it was painful for her whenever Klaus tried to see where she was.

"Go. Now." Cassandra tells them as she grips her head, shaking it slightly in attempt to get whatever psychic witch attack to stop.

"What did Elijah do?" Stefan asks curiously as he was wondering about what Cassandra meant with saying that Elijah didn't keep all of his promises.

"Just get Caroline home, I'll deal with Cassandra." Damon tells his brother who is hesitant at first. Stefan glances down at sniffling Cassandra but ultimately speeds off with Caroline, leaving the two alone. Cassandra wasn't making eye contact with Damon because she didn't want him to see her break down.

"Damon, please leave." Cassandra begs as she wipes the tears that fell from her eyes. Damon frowns for a moment before bending down to be at her eye level.

"Nope. You and I were supposed to have a fun night." He states as he helps her off of the ground. Cassandra tries to pull away from him, wanting to get away as quickly as possible before he forced her to do something.

"I really don't want to." She groans, rubbing her face as she just wanted to go home and forget about everything, or kill someone she didn't really know at the moment.

"I'm not taking no for an answer." Damon tells her as he shakes his head. Cassandra rolls her eyes a little bit but she knew he would not leave her alone until she said yes so she just simply nodded her head at him. It was a couple seconds of silence before she felt a pair of lips on hers. It was a soft kiss, one they rarely have ever shared. She was confused at first why he would kiss her like that but then she figured it was because of what happened with Elijah.

"What was that for?" Cassandra asks with a raise of an eyebrow but she somewhat appreciated the gesture. She knew what he was trying to do, what he was trying to take her mind off of.

"Seems like you needed it." Damon states with a sigh as he had seen the heartbroken look in her eyes when she had arrived to save them. Cassandra gives him a small smile, feeling grateful that he was there for her even after she wasn't the greatest person towards them. She continues to stare at him for a moment before leaning in and planting a kiss on his lips. Once they pull away, Damon looks at her with a confused expression on his face.

"Seems like you needed it." Cassandra shrugs as she knew how hurt he had been feeling recently about Stefan and Elena. She didn't know what side to be on because either way, one of her friends got hurt. Only Elena would win in this situation and that pissed Cassandra off deeply. But she didn't let that run through her mind as all she wanted was to get her mind off of that night. Off of Elijah. She just needed to not think.

β€’Β°β€’Β°β€’Β°β€’Β°β€’Β°β€’Β°β€’Β°β€’Β°β€’Β°β€’Β°β€’

CASSANDRA WAS HAVING THE TIME OF HER LIFE DANCING WITH DAMON, blood trailing down her body as they had been snacking on the people around in the club. Damons fangs were currently residing in a woman's neck, his eyes meeting Cassandra's for a moment. The raven haired girl smirks at him as she dances towards him, pulling him off the girl before connecting their lips. She practically moans at the taste of the blood, pulling back to lick it off of his lips. Damon twirls her around suddenly, pressing her back against his chest. She giggled as their hands intertwined, moving upwards together as his other hand was on her hip, swaying it to the beat of the music. Cassandra grinds back into him as they dance, finishing off the drink that was next to them. Damon groans into her ear, trying to keep her still as they danced but she just kept rubbing herself against him. She knew the effect she had on him, turning around to sink her fangs into his neck. Damon allowed her as his hands moved down to her ass to give it a squeeze. As she drank, she allowed one of her hands to move down in order to start palming in through his jeans. He was partially hard and was getting harder with every sensual moan she would make in his ear. Damon growls under his breath, grabbing her hand in order to stop her. Cassandra feels herself smirk as she stops feeding from him to turn herself around and continue grinding and dancing on him. She eventually had him in a chair, staring up at her as she started to dance on his lap. Damon was trying to contain himself, not wanting to let himself go here, he wanted to get her back to his place and relish her. Cassandra smirks as she runs her hands down his body as she seductively grinds on him. Damon didn't even notice she had unbuckled his belt until she was palming him harshly. Everyone was still dancing around them but most of them were too wasted to notice or care what was going on.

"Stop." Damon tells her as he pulls her that so she is straddling his lap. Cassandra only gives him a suggestive expression at their position right now. Before he can say anything else, she sinks down on him earning a moan from him. Damon couldn't think of why he didn't want to screw her, it's not like he cared that people could watch them. He didn't even want to stop her. So he didn't.

When they finally got back to the Salvatore boarding house, Cassandra was even worse than she was prior. Stumbling with every footstep, Damon was practically holding her up. They were making a lot of noise as Cassandra couldn't contain her laughter. It no doubt would have waken Stefan if he was sleeping.Β  "That was so much fun." Cassandra screams as she twirls around, running her hands across Damon's chest which was covered in a lot of different people's blood.

"I told you." Damon sing songs with a smirk as he slams the front door. Cassandra gives him a heated kiss before pulling away to walk around herself.

"So you got her wasted?" Stefan's voice pipes up from no where causing his brother to glance over towards the parlor, seeing him standing next to the couch. Damon only makes his way over to the alcohol to pour himself a glass. Cassandra was a complete mess, her dress was ripped at the bottom, there was dry blood covering some of her dress and her chest which was prominently showing. There was no doubting her sex hair which was the first thing that Stefan had noticed when he saw them.

"High on life." Damon corrects his brother as he downs the bourbon he had in his hand. He was watching Cassandra dance around, her hands feeling her body up, it was very sexual and it was obviously turning him on.

"Damonnn, we are supposed to be having fun!" Cassandra announces in a loud voice as she makes her way over to the older Salvatore. Damon only looks down at her with a smirk before a pair of lips cover his. They practically devour each other for a couple seconds as Damon's hands run down the girls body. Luckily for Stefan, Cassandra had pulled away from his brother just before his hand disappeared underneath her dress. She turns to Stefan, giving him a stern pouty look as she shakes her head. "I will not kiss you because you have a girlfriend and I am a good person--" She says pointing to Stefan before twirling around, giggling a little bit. She was laughing at the fact that she called herself a good person. Cassandra wouldn't stop it if Stefan came onto her even though he was taken, and yet she doesn't like playing with people's feelings like when it comes to Klaus and Elijah. She had a weird complex system going on.Β  Stefan raises his eyebrows as he had never seen the girl in this position before.

"What exactly did you give her?" He asks as he tries not to let Cassandra run herself into anything. She only gives him a light smirk, eyeing him up before twirling back around. Stefan couldn't help that his cheeks flushed a little bit, noticing the obvious half nakedness of the girl.

"Are you complaining." Damon asks as he eyes Cassandra's body, her dress almost completely off. Stefan was being nice and not staring at the girl like his brother was. "I am definitely not." He adds, his signature smirk on his lips as she connects their lips again. It was rough as she moans into his mouth, gripping his hair tightly. Pulling away, Damon glances towards his brother sending a wink before bringing Cassandra upstairs. Stefan only shakes his head before grabbing his coat and leaving the two to their little fiasco.

β€’Β°β€’Β°β€’Β°β€’Β°β€’Β°β€’Β°β€’Β°β€’Β°β€’Β°β€’Β°β€’

BRIGHT LIGHT SHINES IN HER EYES CAUSING HER TO GROAN. Cassandra covers her face, trying to block it as she rolls over lightly. A thin sheet was the only thing covering her body as she could hear Damon sleeping next to her. Stretching, she runs a hand through her hair before sitting up in the bed. Glancing to her side, seeing the Salvatore dead asleep. The sheet was barely even on his body as his face was buried in the pillow.Β  A sigh leaves her lips as she swings her legs off of the bed, bringing the sheet with her leaving Damon exposed. Holding the sheet to her body, she walks around the room, glancing at nothing in particular. Her eyes catch something lying in the dresser, her eyebrows furrow for a moment before she makes her way over to it. It was the dagger. Was he that dumb to leave it in a house where anyone can enter. Her fingers run gently over it as a pit forms in her stomach.

"What are you doing?" A voice calls out suddenly as the bed squeaks a little. Cassandra only sighs, rubbing her eyes before turning to face the Salvatore who was still lying in the bed. His face gave away how tired he was even if vampires didn't necessarily need to get sleep.

"Im not stealing it if that's what you were thinking." She answers him as she looks back to the dagger for a moment. Damon continues to stare at her before he gets off of his bed in order to walk towards her. Stopping beside her, he notices the longing look in her eyes as she stares at the dagger.

"So it works, right?" Damon asks curiously as he moves the dagger into his drawer. Cassandra runs a hand through her hair as she closes her eyes for a moment.

"Seen it with my own eyes." Cassandra states as she remembers all the times she has seen Klaus dagger his siblings. She's never done it personally but that was because she liked the family and wasn't going to take their lives away even if just for a little while.

"You're still okay with us doing this?" Damon asks, concern laced in his eyes as he didn't want her to spiral with the death of Elijah. And he also didn't want her to throw her life away if Klaus does find her, Elijah was the one protecting her after all.

"I want to do it." Cassandra says with a nod as she stares at Damon. He looks shocked at her request, mainly because just yesterday she was in a relationship with this man.

"Are you sure? It's a big thing to ask." Damon says hesitantly as he winces a little bit. Her eyes flicker up to him as she squints a little bit, a scoff leaving her lips.

"You don't think I would go through with it." She says slowly as she shakes her head with a roll of her eyes. Damon glances down for a moment as he bites the inside of his cheek. It's not like he didn't trust her, he just didn't think she could actually kill Elijah no matter how much she says she hates him now.

"It's not that, Cass." He tries to assure her but she just continues to glare at him, an angered expression on her face. Damon just continues to stare back until he eventually gives up. "Okay, it's exactly that." Damon admits with a sigh as he leans up against the wall. Cassandra clenches her jaw but she couldn't exactly blame him for not trusting her, deep inside she knew that he was probably right. "I'm going to officially meet Elijah today, wanna come?" He eventually asks as he licks his bottom lip. Cassandra shakes her head, rubbing her eyes a little bit.

"I can't be in the same room with him." She denies as she rewraps the sheet around her body. Damon walks towards her, putting his hands on her shoulders to gain her attention.

"He has all the power, Cassie. Come, show him that he doesn't have any affect on you." Damon coaxes as he also needed to use her to get underneath Elijah's skin since that's the only way they could catch him off guard.

"But that's not true." She tells him flatly as she stares at him. Elijah could simply look at her with his sad little eyes and she would fall at his feet. It was the same with Klaus, he always knew what to say to get her to come back to him. They were her weakness but she couldn't have that show, especially not now.

"Then lie your ass off." Damon says with a shrug making her sigh as she bites her bottom lip. She couldn't face him but he was right, she needed to show Elijah that she was completely done with him. "Plus we can be each other's distraction." He adds as he eyes her down causing her to raise an eyebrow at him, tilting her head a little bit.

"I thought the news girl was gonna be your distraction." Cassandra rolls her eyes a little bit, going to move away from him but he only grips her tightly to stop her from moving. He runs his hands down her body causing her to rest her head back against his chest. Damon nips at her neck before turning her around to look into her eyes.

"You're more fun." Damon tells her with a smirk playing on his lips. She chuckles as his tongue runs across her bottom lip. Cassandra captures it in her mouth as he brings her closer to deepen the kiss.

"Okay." Cassandra replies simply as she moans into the kiss. She pushes the blanket that he had wrapped around his waist to the ground. Damon had his hand tangled in her hair as he pushes her head towards him again to continue kissing her.

"Besties with benefits." He says with a smirk as he lifts her up off the ground. Cassandra wraps her legs around his waist as their lips continue smashing against each other. Damon moves them into his bathroom before slamming the door shut, continuing on from last night.

β€’Β°β€’Β°β€’Β°β€’Β°β€’Β°β€’Β°β€’Β°β€’Β°β€’Β°β€’Β°β€’

AFTER AN HOUR MORE OF SEX, Damon and Cassandra make their way to the Lockwood's in order to talk to Elijah. The older vampire was just wearing a black lace bralette, a plaid mini skirt and one of Damon's shirts as a coat. The shirt was unbuttoned, something that Damon suggested she did even though they were going to a public event. But Cassandra had worn less in public before so she didn't care. Walking into the house, Damon had his arm looped with hers. His eyes were scanning the room for Elijah, knowing he had to be here. A smirk forms on his face when he notices the original talking with Carol Lockwood. Cassandra sighs as she follows him over towards them, Carol being the first one to notice them.

"Damon. Cassandra. What a surprise." Carol says as she sees the two, a smile brightly placed on her lips. Cassandra gives a polite smile back but keeps her eyes trained to the floor to avoid any contact with Elijah.

"Carol." Damon says with a planted smile, glancing at Elijah who seemed taken aback by Cassandra's presence. His eyes ran over her appearance, feeling a rush of heat to his cheeks but anger suddenly filled him when he recognized a man's shirt covering her body. It wasn't hard to put things together. But he also couldn't be mad, she had broken up with him.

"Elijah, I want you to meet Damon Salvatore and Cassandra Harrington. Damon's family is one of Mystic Falls founding families." Carol introduces the original to the two vampires, who he had already knew. Elijah nods his head a little bit as his eyes go back to staring at Cassandra who was doing everything in her power to avoid eye contact with him.

"Mhmm. And Cassie here is just my plus one. Wonderful gal when you get to know her. Any guy would be an idiot if they didn't want to be with her." Damon mentions with a smirk playing on his lips. Elijah only gives a tight lipped smile as he stares back at Damon. "Could you imagine that, Elijah? Lying to this perfect angel." He states as he puts his hand on her chin making the girl send him a slight glare. Elijah had fire in his eyes but he didn't act on it or say anything to provoke the reaction Damon was looking for. "It's a pleasure to meet you." Damon says as he smirks at the original who didn't want to do anything since Carol was still next to them. Cassandra glances between them as she notices Damon give Elijah a look.

"No, the pleasures mine." Elijah responds with the same smirk on his lips before following Damon into the room he gestured at. He rolls his eyes lightly before turning around to face the two vampires. Cassandra was pulling at the strings on her shirt, twisting them around her finger. Damon glances at her, nudging her a little bit. "She does that when she's nervous." Elijah pipes up after he notices the small exchange between the two. Cassandra only rolls her eyes, her blood boiling at the sound of his voice.

"I don't need you to be my knight anymore." Cassandra tells him in a toxic tone as she crosses her arms, wanting him to stop staring at her.

"I thought you would be long gone." Elijah says as he sighs, not wanting her to be here when his brother comes to claim his stake in the doppleganger. He didn't know if Klaus truly wanted Cassandra dead or not but he was not going to take a chance.

"I have friends here." She says with an eye roll as she shares a look with Damon who gives her a 'dont screw this up' expression.

"Klaus is coming, you need to leave." Elijah tells her with a confused expression on his face, as much as she hated him right now she shouldn't be putting her life on the line because of it.

"You lost the right to tell me what to do when you betrayed my trust." Cassandra snaps at him with a harsh glare on her face. Elijah clenches his jaw for a moment as he glances down, sadness filling his eyes.

"What can I do for you Damon?" Elijah finally asks as he moves his attention from the girl he loves to the older Salvatore. Damon only shrugs as he licks his bottom lip, taking a glance at Cassandra.

"I was hoping we could have a word." Damon says as he moves around the room, Elijah's eyes following him. He had an amused expression on his face, wondering what he could possibly want to talk about. Cassandra was off to the side not making eye contact with either man.

"Where's Elena?" He asks in an uninterested tone as he licks his bottom lip. Cassandra's eyes notice this and can't help but stare at him. This was always her problem, she couldn't stop herself from getting pulled in by their stupid looks and charmness.

"With Stefan. Laying low. You know, a bit of a werewolf problem." Damon tells him as he snickers a little bit causing Elijah to smirk lightly.

"Oh yeah, I heard about that." He says not interested too much in the conversation as he turns to leave the room.

"I'm sure you did. I mean you sent the girl you supposedly love into a slaughter." He tells Elijah who tenses up but doesn't let it show to the younger vampire."I guess she had backup though since it's your witch who saved the day." Damon says in a dramatic tone. Elijah only keeps looking at the Salvatore with an unamused face. "One bite and she would've been blato either way." He adds as he tries to see the slightest facial expression from Elijah. The original glances over towards Cassandra for a moment before staring back at Damon.

"You are welcome." Elijah says as he keeps his face neutral. Damon internally groans as he didn't seem to get any type of reaction out of the man.

"But it adds to my confusion on why you're here." Damon says slowly as he squints his eyes at the man suspiciously. Elijah only tilts his head, raising an eyebrow at him.

"Why don't you just stay focused on keeping Elena safe and leave the rest to me." He states as he fixes the cuffs on his suit. Cassandra only rolls her eyes as she crosses her arms against her chest.

"Not good enough." Damon shakes his head as he steps towards the older vampire. Elijah scoffs a little bit, giving a tight lipped smile before speeding towards Damon and slamming him into the wall, his hand wrapped around the man's throat.

"You young vampires, so arrogant. How dare you come in here and challenge me." He sneers at the man, an angered look in his eyes. Cassandras heart practically drops for a moment, seeing the true resemblance between him and his brother.

"You can't kill me. It's not part of the deal." Damon says with a slight smirk on his face as he gasps a little from Elijah's hold on him. Cassandra steps forward a little but hesitates to interfere.

"Silence." Elijah says to the man as his grip tightens on Damon's throat. The man winces a little bit as he could barely breathe. Cassandra scoffs, hating how Elijah and Klaus always thought they were superior to everyone.

"Don't touch him." She snaps at him as she grabs Elijah and shoves him away from Damon. The Salvatore smirks a little bit as he continues to stare at Elijah who looked a little pissed off. The original looks over at Cassandra slowly, glaring lightly but he understood why she was angry with him. Cassandra only stares back not giving him the satisfaction of turning away first. He sighs before looking back at Damon, taking a step closer to the man.

"The moment you cease to be of use to me, you're dead. So do as I say, keep Elena safe." Elijah threatens Damon before sneaking one last glance at Cassandra. She only has her arms crossed against her chest, her jaw clenched lightly. He sighs lightly before turning in order to exit the room. She can't help but watch as he does, a slight ache in her heart.
