HER EYES OPEN SUDDENLY FROM HER SLUMBER, her mind hearing someone talking. Cassandra glances around the dark room confused, her eyes flickering Klaus who was still fast asleep. Deciding it was nothing, she closes her eyes in order to back to sleep. "Cassandra. My dear." A voice whispers, trying to get her attention in which she only groans, cuddling up to Klaus more. The man shifts slightly, wrapping an arm around her to bring her closer. "You're in danger, Cassandra." The voice says again causing Cassandra to gasp as she suddenly jolts away, this time waking Klaus up in the process. He lets out a sigh, opening his eyes slowly as he notices that Cassandra was quite tense.
"Love, are you alright?" He asks, his voice hoarse as he turns his head to face her. Cassandra glances around for a few moments before meeting his concerned eyes.
"Was someone talking?" Cassandra questions as she could've sworn someone was talking to her but there no one else in the room except for Klaus.
"No.. did you hear someone?" Klaus says as he furrows his eyebrows, his eyes scanning around for any sign of an intruder. Cassandra sighs as she rubs her eyes, slightly pissed off that something had disturbed her sleep.
"It must have just been a dream." She tells him, trying to convince herself also as she didn't want to think it was anything else.
"Are you sure everything is alright?" Klaus asks, worried that there was something she wasn't telling him but she only nods her head, grabbing his hand to give it a light squeeze.
"Everything is fine, Nik. No need to worry." She assures him with a sweet smile before pecking his lips. Klaus smiles back at her before kissing her again, bringing her closer as his hands press against her back. Cassandra moans into it as she deepens it, their lips moving more feverishly together as she feels his hands slide down her body to grip her ass. She lets out a sound of pleasure as she could feel their tongues clashing together, fighting for dominance.
"Enough with the snogging. It is getting quite irritating." The sound of Rebekah flooded their ears as she yelled from her bedroom. Klaus sighs, rolling his eyes for a moment before allowing his lips to devour Cassandra's again. He was still kissing her as he decided to respond to the loud complaint they had gotten.
"Oh mind your business, sister." Klaus demands as he continues to kiss his girlfriend who was silently moaning at his touch. He smiles into the kiss but it is once again interrupted by his lovely sister.
"We can all hear your business so therefore it is my business, now shut the bloody hell up." Rebekah shouts back, not in the mood to hear them at four in the morning. She knew her brother's didn't want to hear them either but they tended to have no respect for anyone else while in their bedroom. Cassandra tries to contain her laughter as she smiles at Klaus who was still annoyed by his sister. She giggles again before planting a kiss on his lips, making him groan into It before pulling away.
"Love--" Klaus warns her but she only raises an eyebrow, pointing to her ear before smirking at the man. He only chuckles before connecting their lips again and rolling on top of her in order to deepen the kiss.
β’Β°β’Β°β’Β°β’Β°β’Β°β’Β°β’Β°β’Β°β’Β°β’Β°β’Β°β’
"HELLO, NIK." REBEKAH SAYS THROUGH THE PHONE AS SHE STARES AT DAMON, STEFAN AND ELENA WERE ALL WATCHING HER CAREFULLY. They had found Mikael and had a weapon to kill Klaus, the only problem was luring Klaus back to Mystic Falls in order to kill him. Stefan couldn't lie to him if they said Mikael was dead so they did dagger mikael, leaving him laying on the floor as the phone was passed around, Klaus wanting to now speak to his sister after finishing with Stefan.
"Rebekah, love. What's this I hear about Mikael's tragic run in with a dagger?" He asks as he raises his eyebrows, not expecting to hear this news so early on, especially from the Salvatore's no less.
"It's true. He's finally out of our lives for good." Rebekah tells him as she lets out a sigh of relief. "I miss you. I'm miserable here." She says after a moment of silence but the man on the other side of the phone didn't say anything. He was still doubting them which wasn't a good thing at all.
"Put Cassandra on the phone." Klaus says suddenly causing Rebekah to furrow her eyebrows as she looks at the group.
"Cassandra." She says loudly making everyone become dead quiet as they hear the name of the vampire who was trying to protect Klaus. "She's not here." Rebekah elaborates as she shrugs her shoulders at the group, not knowing what to say to her brother.
"Well, I want to speak with her." He tells her with a sigh as he waited patiently for the phone to be passed to the raven haired vampire.
"Do you not trust my word?" Rebekah asks, a little hurt by the fact that her own brother didn't trust her.
"Let me talk to Cassandra." He says a little more sternly this time, wanting to hear the words come out of her mouth.
"Fine, it'll be a moment." She snaps at him before putting her brother on mute and staring wide eyed at the rest of the group.
"What are we gonna do. Cassandra obviously won't want to kill Klaus." Elena mentions with a sigh, not knowing how they were going to trick her into saying Mikael was actually dead.
"We bring her here. She's sees his body and tells Klaus that he's dead. She doesn't have to know our whole plan." Damon suggests simply as it wasn't too hard to just not clue her in on some bits.
"But she'll be suspicious. There's no way she won't ask questions." Stefan points out, knowing Cassandra wouldn't be that easy to manipulate because she has been around for a while.
"Leave that to me." Rebekah tells them before speeding off quickly and returning with an annoyed Cassandra who didn't seem too pleased to be taken from her bed.
"What is this abo--" She asks furiously before her eyes land on something on the floor, making her eyes widen. "Is that Mikael?" Cassandra gasps as she notices the man, veins all over his body and a dagger driven through his chest.
"Yep. Dead as a doorknob." Damon tells her as he crosses his arms against his chest.
"How did.. he's an original. How did you dagger him." Cassandra questions, looking at them curiously as it was pretty hard to even sneak up Mikael let alone dagger him.
"Same way we daggered Elijah." Damon pipes up making Cassandra squint her eyes suspiciously. Elena had to be the one to actually dagger Mikael since if a vampire did it they would die, it was hard for Cassandra to believe that she could actually do it.
"But this was Mikael." She says slowly, glancing around the room to see if she could notice any off behavior.
"It took three of us but we got it." Stefan states with a shrug, knowing the girl was doubting their abilities but it wasn't hard to know that she would. Mikael is a strong person.
"Who's on the phone?" Cassandra says, changing the topic as she realizes that Rebekah was holding a phone in her hand.
"Nik, he wants to know if Mikael is really dead." Rebekah tells her as she holds the phone out to Cassandra who stares at it, not knowing what she was meant to do with it.
"Well, he is. I dont know for how long though." Cassandra mutters as the dagger could be removed, which meant he wasn't technically out of their lives but it was good enough that they could just put him with the rest of the originals.
"It's forever, Cass. We can finally live without worrying about him." Rebekah says with a smile on her face but frowns when she sees the reluctant expression on her friends face.
"You mean without you worrying about him. I'm not apart of your family, Bekah." She states with a sigh, hating how she was always referred to as their family when she wasn't. She had no true family. No one she could depend on.
"Of course you are, you always have been." Rebekah tries to tell her but the girl wasn't listening at all.
"Back when I was with Nik. Not anymore." She mutters, crossing her arms against her chest as Stefan only rolls his eyes, grabbing the phone from Rebekah and holding it out to Cassandra.
"Can you just tell him that Mikael is dead. He wants to hear it from you." Stefan tells the girl impatiently, wanting to get this whole thing over with already. Cassandra glares at him but takes the phone and puts it to her ear.
"Nik." She says, making Klaus sigh relieved that maybe he could actually find out if Mikael was really dead or not. He knew Stefan couldn't lie to him but something still felt off about everything.
"Love, is Mikael dead?" Klaus asks with a stern voice, wanting to hear her say and not anyone else.
"He's definitely dead." She says with a sigh as her eyes grimace over the dead original, glad that he was finally out of everyone's lives for good.
"You wouldn't lie to me, darling. Would you?" Klaus asks, doubting her for just a mere second but he knew that no matter how much they could be at odds, she never wanted him dead.
"Of course not, Nik." She says in a soft voice, frowning lightly hating that he even had to question her.
"I'll be home soon." Klaus tells her which makes everyone's ears perk up for some reason but Cassandra chooses to ignore it.
"Okay, bye." Cassandra is about to hang up when Klaus says something else, something that makes her heart stop.
"I love you." Klaus says without even realizing as he hangs up the phone. Cassandra was in shock, wondering if he had meant to say that or if it had just been a freak accident. Clearing her throat, she hands Stefan his phone back, making eye contact with them all.
"Happy?" She asks with a raised eyebrow, sighing a little as her mind was still spinning from what Klaus had just said to her.
"Let's go." Rebekah says suddenly, grabbing her arm and pulling her towards the exit but Cassandra stops them, glancing at the girl with a confused expression.
"Where?" Cassandra asks, not wanting to be spending hours doing god knows what with Rebekah when she knew Klaus was coming back to town.
"To get you a homecoming dress." She says like it was obvious but that only made Cassandra shake her head so fast. She was not going to a stupid dance, not after their past track record at dances.
"I don't think so." Cassandra denies, trying to leave but Rebekah blocks her path, giving her a stern expression.
"Come on, Nik will want to see you." Rebekah tries to coax the girl into going but it didn't seem to be working as girl only rolls her eyes.
"Does it matter?" She groans as she didn't get why Klaus would want to go to the dance either because it wasn't either of their scenes.
"Yes, because if something goes wrong he'd want you by his side." Rebekah scolds the woman with a pout on her face, batting her eyelashes at Cassandra. The girl groans, letting out a sigh which allows Rebekah to smile in victory.
"I'm not wearing a puffy dress." She grumbles towards Rebekah who rolls her eyes before sending a knowing expression to Stefan and Damon and speeding the two of them to the nearest boutique.
β’Β°β’Β°β’Β°β’Β°β’Β°β’Β°β’Β°β’Β°β’Β°β’Β°β’Β°β’
DAMON AND STEFAN WERE STANDING IN TYLER LOCKWOOD'S BACKYARD, awaiting Klaus's arrival so they could finally ended this once and for all. There eyes hadn't landed on him yet but Damon did see Cassandra who was standing alone. Not that she would want to talk to him but it was worth a shot. Maybe he could convince her that Klaus did need to die so she would be on their side and not try to kill them afterwards.
"There's Cassandra, I'm gonna go talk to her." Damon tells his brother as he gestures over to the older vampire who who staring at her drink.
"Is it really smart to go flirting her up when Klaus can show up at anytime?" Stefan asks with a raise of his eyebrows not really caring if Damon got his heart ripped out by Klaus before the man even got to have an attempt on staking the original.
"We're besties. They give each other compliments.." Damon trails off although he was not too sure if they were even friends anymore after he had gotten his head smashed in by her.
"And will you still be besties once you murder her ex love?" His younger brother asks amused causing Damon to glare at him before stalking over to Cassandra who rolls her eyes as she sees the man approaching her.
"You look smoking hot." He tells her with a smirk playing on his lips. Cassandra glances towards him before signing and looking anywhere else.
"Why thank you." She says although her tone implied that she didn't really want him hanging around her which was understandable but Damon didn't pay much attention to it.
"Trying to impress a certain hybrid?" Damon questions as he wraps an arm around her shoulder in which she shakes off.
"Of course not. I wore this for me." Cassandra lies with a sigh before groaning as she notices the blunt expression Damon was giving her."Okay, so what I want to look hot for him? Is that a crime?" She asks as she rolls her eyes, finishing off her drink as she glances around to try and find Klaus.
"Well, it's Klaus." He states blatantly but Cassandra only squints her eyes at him, not in the mood to have a conversation with him.
"You have no right to judge me." She scoffs at him as she crosses her arms against her chest, giving the man a glare. Damon raises his hands in defence showing her that he didn't want any trouble.
"No, judging here. Any guy would want you in that dress." He tells her with a smirk on his face before it falters a little bit, his eyes searching hers. "Do you really care what he thinks?" Damon asks her, furrowing his eyebrows at the woman who only sighs, not really knowing the answer because she did care what he thought most of the time but it didn't truly affect her that much.
"I don't know. I just want to be able to make a choice. Which I'm now able to do since Mikael is gone." Cassandra tells the man who flashes with a look of guilt but she didn't catch it as someone had caught her attention.
"Mind if I steal a dance?" Klaus asks from beside Cassandra making an immediate smile form on her face. She turns to face him, instantly avoiding Damon.
"Nik. You came." She says as she presses a kiss to his cheek which surprised the man since just yesterday she was basically telling him to fuck off. Klaus smiles as his eyes roam down her body for a split second.
"Of course I did. I came to see Mikaels rotting corpse, attending a homecoming dance wasn't exactly on my schedule." Klaus states as he looks around at the party, only seeing Damon so far which was a bit suspicious but he let it be.
"It's not exactly a homecoming anymore, you kind of sabotaged it." She teases him with a smirk playing on her lips. Klaus chuckles before his eyes drift to Damon who was still standing beside Cassandra.
"Let's take our conversation elsewhere." He says as he takes the girls hand and pulls her away from the Salvatore who's eyes follow their every movement. "You look absolutely ravishing tonight, love." Klaus tells her as he pulls her in close to her, almost like they were dancing but he really just wanted to keep their conversation as private as possible.
"I know." Cassandra states as she flips her hair over her shoulder making the man stare at her amused. "You look very handsome." She tells him making him smirk down at her before pulling her a bit closer to his mouth was near her ear.
"So Mikael is out of the picture?" Klaus asks, not believing that the Salvatore's would tell him the truth about Mikael's demise. Cassandra sighs as she nods her head at him, resting her chin on his shoulder.
"I saw him dead, Nik." She says, having seen Mikael's dead body herself but something didn't sit right with her when she was in the room with them. "But, I don't know something just felt off about the whole thing." Cassandra voices her thoughts to Klaus who tenses a little bit but nods, his hand pressing against her back.
"What do you mean, love?" Klaus asks quietly as he presses a small kiss behind her ear which she smiles at, it's what he did when he was a little bit nervous and she was nearby.
"Mikael was strong. I mean even when me, you, Elijah and Rebekah were together... We couldn't take him." Cassandra states out the obvious, even with three originals and she was pretty strong herself, they couldn't defeat Mikael. "Do you honestly believe that the Salvatores and Elena could take him?" She questions with a raise of an eyebrow and that alone made him doubt this whole ordeal. Elena could barely defend herself enough as it is from a newbie vampire.
"You think this is a trap." Klaus says, thinking the exact same thing that she was as it did strike a bit strange how a human and two vampires who weren't even very old, were able to take down Mikael who was a thousand years old.
"I think you should be careful who you trust tonight. Even Stefan." Cassandra answers him with a sigh as she brushes her lips against his cheek, her breath hitting his skin."Rebekah is no where to be found." She adds quietly into his ear which makes him clench his jaw for a moment, knowing that his sister was probably daggered again somewhere.
"Thanks for the information, love." Klaus says as he finally pulls away from the embrace with the girl. No doubt that there was multiple eyes on them probably trying to listen in on what they were talking about.
"Don't get yourself killed." She tells him as she gives him a stern expression but he only smirks, stroking her cheek as he thought it was cute that she worried for his safety.
"I should be more concerned about your safety then mine." Klaus says as he flickers his eyes to hers, his eyes going down to her lips for a second. "Well, I should go and see if they even have Mikaels body." He backs up a little from her but she grabs his hand in order to squeeze it a little bit.
"Be careful." Cassandra says and he only nods his head, but she knew he didn't really take it seriously. "I'm serious, Nik. Please don't die." She begs him as she gazes up into his eyes. Klaus only presses a small kiss to her forehead before pulling away but Cassandra doesn't let him get far as she brings his lips down to her, giving him a sweet kiss. Cassandra knew there was a very good chance that this could all go very wrong so of course she was going to give him a goodbye kiss. Klaus deepens it a little bit, pulling her closer to his body before allowing the kiss to end, his eyes closed as his forehead rested against hers. Suddenly he was gone, leaving Cassandra standing in the midst. A small smile was still on her face as she made her way into the house only to be struck on the back of her head with something, knocking her out instantly and falling into a pair of unknown arms.
β’Β°β’Β°β’Β°β’Β°β’Β°β’Β°β’Β°β’Β°β’Β°β’Β°β’Β°β’
CASSANDRA WASN'T FULLY CONSCIOUS BUT SHE COULD STILL HEAR THE FAINT VOICES COMING FROM NEARBY. She didn't know who had knocked her out but she had made a big guess to think it was Mikael since he was the only one who knew how to use her as leverage. "Hello, Niklaus." Mikael says as he finally comes into view of Klaus who only stares at him for a second. Cassandra groans as she tries to open her eyes, not even knowing where she was she Mikael glances to the side at her although Klaus couldn't see her yet.
"Hello Mikael, why don't you come in. Oh, right I forgot, you can't." The hybrid says in a taunting voice, a chuckle escaping his lips.
"Or you can come outside if you want." Mikael suggests as he raises his eyebrows at the younger man who shrugs his shoulders at the man's suggestion.
"Or I can watch my hybrids tear you limb from limb." Klaus says as he flickers his eyes across Mikael's face.
"They can't kill me." Mikael states bluntly, not giving into the weak taunts of his son who rolls his eyes with a smirk on his face.
"True. But it will make a hell of a party game." He says before meeting the man's eyes again, bringing his two fingers up. "All I have to do, is rub these two fingers together and they'll pounce." Klaus states as his eyes shift to his hybrids that were behind Mikael.
"Well, the big bad wolf. You haven't changed. Still hiding behind your playthings like a coward." Mikael's voice was like nails to Klaus's ears but he just wanted to be rid of the man. "Don't forget. They may be sired to you but they're still part vampire. And they can be compelled by me." He says, gesturing to the hybrids behind him and one brings out Elena with force, handing her over to Mikael.
"Come out and face me, Niklaus. Or she dies." Mikael says as he nods his head towards the doppleganger.
"Go ahead. Kill her." Klaus tells Mikael who raised an eyebrow at him.
"No.. Klaus he'll do it." Elena says, her voice shaking as she meets the eyes of the hybrid.
"If she dies, this lot will be the last if your abominations." He sneers at his excuse of a son, glaring at the boy.
"I don't need them. I just need to be rid of you." He scoffs, a single tear dripping from his eye as maybe then he could be free. He would have Cassandra and that's all that mattered to him really.
"To what ends, Niklaus. So you can live forever? With no one by your side. Nobody cares about you anymore, boy." Mikael's voice grows loud before a smirk forms on his face. "Not even the woman that makes you weak." He adds before pulling Cassandra from the side who was groaning as she was still trying to awaken from being knocked out. Elena, who was actually Katherine, gasps as she sees the woman. This wasn't part of the plan. Mikael was only meant to take her. Klaus stares at Cassandra, fear clear in his eyes. "Who do you have other than those who's loyalty you false? No one. And in a minute, even she will be gone. Leaving you alone for eternity." He finishes with a smirk as his grip tightens on the girl as she weakly looks up at the man.
"Nik." She pleads, her voice shaking but Mikael only smashed her against the wall, allowing her to fall to the ground.
"I'm calling your bluff, father. Kill her." Klaus says, motioning to Elena who was shocked he would say that because he needed the blood for his hybrids.
"I will kill both if you don't come outside and face me you little coward." Mikael taunts the boy who only clenches his jaw at the older man.
"All my life you've underestimated me. If you kill her, you lose your leverage. So go ahead. Go on, kill her." Klaus tells him as he stares Mikael in the eyes. "Come on, old man. Kill her. Kill her!" He yells, his voice bouncing off the walls of the house. Cassandra glances to 'Elena' who was watching Klaus with wide eyes.
"Your impulse, Niklaus. It will forever be the one thing that keeps your from truly being great." Mikael states before stabbing Elena in the gut causing her to gasp out and drop to the floor. Klaus only watches her drop, his eyes wide in shock before he noticed Mikael then grabbing Cassandra and pulling her up.
"Cass--" Klaus didn't even get to get his words out before Mikael drove a stake into her back. Luckily Katherine had kicked the man's leg so he stumbled a little, missing the girls heart. The older vampire turns to face the brunette, his eyes squinting as he watched the girl stand up, unaffected from the knife in the gut she received.
"Katherine." He pieces together making her smirk as she turns around and shows two grenades to the crowd of hybrids behind them.
"Ba-boom." She says before throwing them at the hybrids causing them to let out sounds of pain. Damon suddenly comes up behind Klaus who was too busy staring at Cassandra who was gasping in pain, afraid to move. Getting Klaus on the ground, he raises the white oak stake with a smile on his face. Stefan tackles his brother to the ground making Klaus sigh in relief but also mild confusion.
"What are you doing?" Damon yells at his brother but it was too late, Klaus speeds to the stake and then stabs it in Mikael's heart. The man screams out in pain before burning in flames and dropping to the ground. "What the hell did you do?" He asks his brother as they stared at the dead original vampire hunter. Klaus quickly moves over to Cassandra, removing the stake from her back and feeding her a little bit of his blood to her to have her heal faster. His eyes flicker to Stefan who was only staring back at Damon unable to come up with words to say.
"He's earned his freedom." Klaus says as he stares at Stefan who stands up from beside his brother. The original walks over to him, putting a hand on the man's shoulders. "You no longer have to do what I say, my friend. You're free." He compels the man who closes his eyes for a moment, stepping back from Klaus. Stefan felt amazing to finally be free from Klaus and not have to do what he said anymore. But that wasn't the only issue at hand, Katherine noticed the rage that seemed to fill Cassandra.
"Cassandra, hold on a minute--" She tries to reason with the girl but Cassandra only glares at her hatefully. Katherine gulps, backing away slowly.
"Shut up, Katherine" Cassandra snaps at her which makes the girl share glances with the Salvatore's before speeding off. "I know I can't kill Elena, she's the human bloodbag." She almost says it to herself but she knew everyone was listening to her because Damon's as visibly tensing at her words.
"Them two on the other hand." She says as she glances over to the Salvatore's who were still next to them. They saw the deadly expression on her face knew they screwed up big time. Cassandra speeds to break a chair before smashing Damon into the wall after throwing Stefan across the room. Damon tries to stop her, his hand grabbing at her arm but she was stronger so the stake was inching towards him. He groans, silently pleading that he was able to stop it. Cassandra glares at him, her face void of emotion as she felt the wood pierce the man's chest. Damon yells out in pain, trying to push the girl away but it was no use.
Cassandra was lifted away from the Salvatore, the stake dropping to the floor which backs Damon slide down the wall, his chest breathing heavily. Cassandra fights against the grip whoever had on her but after realizing she could fight against it, she figured it had to be Klaus. Sending one last glare Damon and Stefan's way, she allows Klaus to speed them off.
β’Β°β’Β°β’Β°β’Β°β’Β°β’Β°β’Β°β’Β°β’Β°β’Β°β’Β°β’
WHEN KLAUS AND CASSANDRA GOT TO HER APARTMENT, the silence between them was enormous. Neither of them knowing what to say after the events that had taken place. Klaus could tell Cassandra blamed herself for his near death but it wasn't her fault, especially since neither of them expected Mikael to grab her and use her as leverage. "It wasn't your fault, love." He assures her with a sigh as he decided to finally speak up. Cassandra scoffs, shaking her head as she rubs her face, throwing her stuff on the couch.
"I had doubts and I still let them get too close to you." Cassandra says as she puts her hands in her hips, how could she be so stupid to allow Mikael to get close enough to kidnap her.
"You warned me. I was prepared." Klaus tries to explain to her but her eyes widen, trying to figure out how that was relevant to this conversation. She still let them get too close. She let her guard down.
"You almost died! I was useless!" She yells at him, not getting how he was so calm about everything when he almost got killed by the Salvatore's and his father, adopted father?
"I am still here. You didn't lose me." Klaus tells her as he strokes her cheek. Cassandra leans against his touch for a moment before pulling away, anger now filling her features.
"Why didnt you let me kill them?" She asks him as she crosses her arms against her chest. Cassandra thought Damon and Stefan deserved to die for almost killing Klaus the original had stopped her.
"They'll get whats coming to them soon enough." He states as he pours himself a drink, wanting to forget the God awful day that thankfully ended in Mikaels perish and not his own.
"I was about to kill him." She says, referring to how she was so close to putting a stake in Damon's heart.
"Don't worry about it, love." He tells her as it was now over and the Salvatore's were eventually going to get what they deserved, he just didn't want Cassandra to live with guilt.
"Well, now Mikael is actually dead. That weapon could've killed you, Nik." Cassandra points out, not even wanting to think about what she would've felt if Klaus had actually been the one to be killed.
"I know." He says with a sigh as he leans against the table as he turns to face her.
"There's none others like that, is there?" She asks, concern laced in her voice as she had hoped that no one was going to find another weapon like that.
"No, that was the only one." He tells her, not knowing of another stake like that that could kill originals. "Now let's talk about you." Klaus says as he places the glass down on the table, walking over to the girl who looks at him confused.
"What?" She asks as she furrows her eyebrows, immediately getting defensive at his request.
"I saw you tonight, Cassandra." He admits, raising an eyebrow at her but he wasn't judging her, he just wanted to be able to help her.
"I'm not talking about this." Cassandra denies as she shakes her head, immediately avoiding eye contact with original who let's out a sigh.
"You need to, love. Tell me what's wrong." Klaus had a soft voice so that she felt more comfortable talking to him but it didn't seem like it helped calm her emotions because the girl was shaking, he knew she was probably craving blood at that moment.
"What's wrong?" She scoffs at the question that every seemed to want to ask but no one genuinely wanted an answer. "How about the fact that I cannot fucking control myself. I wanted to kill every single person at the party tonight and if you weren't there, I probably would have." She admits as she meets his eyes which were laced with concern. "I-im a mess and I have killed so many people, innocent people who deserved to live their lives. The lives I took from them for my own pleasure." She looked disgusted with herself, hating that she could ever do that to a human being. She was human once but she acted like they were disposable.
"Is that why you're having sex with Stefan?" Klaus asks slowly, not wanting her to think he was mad at her because he wasn't. He was only angry with Stefan who told him just to spite him and who had used Cassandra when she was at such a low point.
"H-how did you--" Cassandra asks as shock fills her eyes, not understanding how the man figured that out since it was both times in private.
"He told me. Maybe thinking it would have some sort of affect on me but the only thing I'm mad about is the fact that he knew you were vulnerable and used you." Klaus explains to her with a small frown on her face, taking a step towards her as she sniffles, wiping away a couple tears.
"I thought it would take my mind away from it all. Maybe if I distracted myself with sex t-that I wouldn't think about killing anyone." She admits as she felt kind of ashamed at the fact that she was having sex for distractions. Cassandra knew she was a slut and she knew Klaus was disgusted with her know. Well, at least that's what her mind made up. "But I was wrong. It just made everything worse and i-i turned into a monster." She cries, her voice shaking as she looks up at Klaus who was staring at her with guilt ridden eyes, pain obviously covering his features as he hated the woman he loved feeling like this.
"Love, you're not a monster." He tries to assure her but she only shakes her head frantically, not believing him.
"I am! A-and I don't deserve your love, or Elijah's or any one else's!" She tells him as she cries, pacing around the room as Klaus watches her cautiously. This is what he was afraid of when he made no effort to stop her from drinking more blood. This was her breaking point. "I deserve to die. I deserve to go to hell and be miserable for the rest of eternity. There's nothing left for me. Everyone leaves me or betrays me, no one's actually my friend. My family is dead even though they never cared for me." She was beginninf to hyperventilate as she grasps at her chest trying to stop herself. Klaus takes a couple steps towards her, noticing the stake beside her that he was afraid she was going to use. "I am just a cruel, murderous monster who no one fucking loves." With that being said, she quickly grabs the stake before Klaus can and points it towards her heart. Cassandra doesn't get far with it though as Klaus stops her from actually using it.
"Stop. Stop." Klaus tells her as he rips the stake from her hand, tossing it across the floor. His hands grip her arms tightly so she was unable to go grab it but she only starts fighting against him.
"No! Let me die!" Cassandra screams as she thrashes in his arms, Klaus wrapping his whole body around hers so she was unable to escape. "Please, let me die." She asks as she kicks against him but it does nothing as he was still much stronger than her. After a couple minutes she calms down a little bit tears were still streaming down her cheeks. "Nik." Her voice was so fragile it almost made him falter and loosen his grip but he couldn't. Klaus could feel tears well up in his eyes but that only made him tighten the hold. "Let me die." She pleads him softly as she cries in his arms, his embrace tightening as he closes his eyes for a moment. The girl in his arms was truly broken and he didn't know how to fix her. She wanted to kill herself and it was all his fault.
