“They are trees, what did you expect?”, the darf aksed her curious as he looked at her. Lucy looked back at him and told him, “They used to dance”
“It wasn't long after you left the Talamries invaded, those who survived retreaded into the woods”, the darf explained to them.
“And the trees, they retreated so deep into themselves that they haven't been heated from since”, he finished as he looked at Lucy.
The siblings were shocked, “I don't understand. How could Aslan let that happen?”, Lucy asked him shocked, “Aslan abandoned us when you lot did”, he told them in a bitter tone as he watched the water.
Adeline looked at the water as well, she felt guilty, the Narnian's had died and she and her siblings weren't there to protect them from Miraz.
“We didn't mean to leave you”, Adeline spoke up as she looked at the dwarf.
“Makes no difference know, does it?”, the darf asked looking at her. „Get us to the Narnians— and it will ”, Peter told him while he rowed the boat further down the river.
After a little while they finally arrived at their destination, Lucy quickly climed out of the boat and the others dragged it to the shore.
As they dragged the boat Adeline could her Lucy yell at something, “Hello there!”
Adeline immediately turned around and searched with her eyes for her little sister. There was Lucy and she approched a really big black bear, “It's alright, we're friends”, Lucy said loudly.
But the bear only roared threatening at the little girl, Adeline immediately let go of the boat and so did Edmund, Susan and Peter.
The darf looked at Lucy, “Don't move, your Majesty!”, he instructed her.
Lucy turned around to look at him and in that moment the bear started running and wanted to attack Lucy.
The little girl saw the bear and screened as she tried to escape from him.
Adeline had drawn her bow in a second but Lucy was still in the way, so she couldn't shoot.
Right in this moment Lucy fell over her own feet and hit the ground, “Shoot Adi! Shoot!”, Edmund shouted at his sister as he approached her.
The bear stood right infront of Lucy and just wanted to bite her when Adeline quickly shooted an arrow into his chest.
The bear roared loudly one on last time before he fell to the ground, Adelina looked to the ground, “Why didn't he stopped?”, Susan asked confused and sad.
“I suspect he was hungry”, the darf told her while he approprached the dead animal.
Peter and Edmund helped Lucy up and the darf looked at the bear, he was not dead but he was slowly dying.
The little Pevensie girl wrapped scared her arms around the blond boy, as Susan and Adeline approched them.
“He was wild”, Edmund said shocked as he looked at the dying animal. “I think he couldn't talk at all”, Peter said to his little brother.
“You may find Narnia a more savage place than you remember”, the darf told them and with that he cutted the animals throat to free him from his suffer.
Lucy burried her head into Peter's chest, she couldn't watch it. Adeline placed a hand on her shoulder as she whispered, “It is better this way”, Lucy looked up at her with tears in her eyes and slowly nodded.
The group crossed a small ravine when Susan suddenly spoke up, “I don't remember this way”, she told the others.
“That's the problem with you girls, you can't carry a map in you're heads”, Peter mocked walking in the front. “That's because our heads have something in them”, Adeline shot back at him.
“I wish we had just listened to the D.L.F in the first place”,Lucy complained walking besides Adeline.
“D.L.F?”, Edmund asked her curoius as he caught up to them smiling.
“Dear little fried”, Lucy explained to him with a smile as they continued walking, “Well that's not at all patronizing, is it?”, the little man asked Edmund sarcastical.
Adelina had to smile as she continued to walk before them, she actually kinda liked the dwarf.
After a moment Peter stopped before a big rock wall, “I'm not lost!”, he said to himself. “No, you're just going the wrong way”, the dwarf answered watching him.
“You told us you last saw Caspian in the shuddering woods and the quickest way there is to cross at the river Rush”, Peter explained to the little man impatient.
The dwarf looked at the young boy, “But unless I'm mistaken, there's no crossing in this parts”, but Peter was self- opinionated.
“That explains it then, You're mistaken”, he told him in a angry voice and slowly turned around again to continue walking.
Adeline rolled her eyes as they continued to follow after Peter, yup that was her brother quiet the charming one isn't he?
They walked for a long time through the wood, until they came to a cliff and when they looked down there was the river Peter had talked about.
And surely you couldn't cross it, “So Peter what's the plan know!?”, Adeline asked sarcastical as she crossed her arms and looked at her brother.
“Oh shut up!”, he told her annoyed as he turned around, “Is there another way down?”, they could hear Edmund ask quietly.
The dwarf looked at them sceptical, “Yeah, falling”, he simply answered. “There is a ford near Beruna. How do you feel about swimming?” ,he asked them.
“I'd rather that then walking”, Susan told the others as she followed the dwarf.
Suddenly Lucy exclaimed, “Aslan? It's Aslan!”, she smiled over her whole face and looked at the other side of the cliffs.
“It was Aslam, he was right there, didn't you see him!?”, she asked them excited, but her older siblings just looked at the cliffs and then at her like she was mad.
There wasn't anybody there. “Did you see him now?”, the dwarf asked her curoius, “I'm not crazy, He was there, he wanted us to follow him”, she explained to the others.
Peter looked at her and carefully and spoke up, “I'm sure there are any number of lions in this wood, just like that bear.”
Lucy narrowed her eyes at him, “I think I know Aslan when I see him”, she told the boy annoyed.
“Look, I'm not about to jump of that cliff after someone who doesn't exist”, the dwarf spoke up sceptical.
“The last time I didn't believe Lucy I ended up getting pretty stupid”, Edmund defended his little Sister as he smiled at her.
Peter sighed and looked at the Cliffs, “Why wouldn't I have see him?”, he questioned his sister, Lucy just looked at him and answered, “Maybe you weren't looking.”
“I'm sorry, Lu”, he apologized to her before he walked past her back into the woods, followed by the others.
As they reached the end of the woods they could here people, it sounded like they were working. The Pevensie's and the dwarf hide behind a few logs and watched the people.
It probably wasn't the best to show themselves because this people where Telmarines.
They were working on a weapon as it looks like, after the siblings observed them for a while they decided toreturned into the woods.
“So were exactly did you saw Aslan?”, Peter asked the little girl, Lucy sighed as she angryly looked at Peter,“I wish you would stopp trying to sound like grown ups, I didn't think I saw him, I did saw him”, the girl spatted at him with anger.
“Ay- I'm a grown-up”, the dwarf said, “I don't think she meant you”, Adeline told him with a kind smile and Edmund chuckled.
Lucy walked forewored, “It was right—”, but she couldn't finish her scentence because she fell into a hole that opened in the ground.
The girl let out a loud scream and Adeline immediately screamed after her sister in fear, “Lucy!”
When they had finally reached her they looked down and saw that she sat right under on of the rocks.
She looked up, “Here”, she finished calm. So they started to climb after her, as they all reached the trail they walked one after the other down until they finally reached the river in the ravine.
The time moved fast and the day came to an end, so the Siblings decided to rest.
They all laid in a circle sleeping around the fire they had made to warm themselves.
But Adeline couldn't sleep she was to excited, they were really back in Narnia, she couldn't belive it.
Suddenly she heard Susan's voice, “ Lucy? Are you awake?”, she asked their little sister, “Mh-hm”, she murmured back locking up into the Sky.
“Why did you lie about seeing Aslan?”, the girl questioned Lucy curious, “You don't believe me?!”, Lucy asked after a while a little upset.
“I believe you, Lu”, Adeline spoke up frome besides Susan and turned to look at her sister's.
They both looked at her, “Thank you Adi”, Lucy smiled, “You knew we were coming back here, weren't you?”, Susan asked her curious.
“Yeah kind off”, the little girl answered. Susan sighed deeply, “And I finally got used to the Idea of living in England”, she whispered to herself.
Lucy looked a little disappointed and wanted to say something but Adeline just shook her head and laid back on the ground, so did Lucy.
She watched the starts and even a shooting star flew by, she quickly closed her eyes and wished that she could always come back to Narnia, even after this Adventure.
She slowly opened her eyes and saw the shooting star disappear into the night. She continued to watch the stars until her eyes slowly closed and she drifted of into a deep sleep.
