"ππππππ πππππππ, πππ'π it?"
"Still can't believe what I'm looking at," Jay replied to Barry, staring in awe at the flowing blue in the middle of the basement.
"Fifty-two breaches in Central City," Barry said, "and the biggest one just happens to be in our basement."
Sophia sighed as she looked at the breach. It was jaw-dropping, that was trueβand 'Super epically cool,' as Cisco had exclaimed when they first found it. But its operation was impossible to figure out, and that worried her. The fact that there were over fifty of them all over was bad enough, but having something so unpredictable right under their feet all day? That was a little scary.
Cisco, almost in a trance as he stared at the breach, added, "We need a name for it."
"It's not a pet, Cisco," laughed Sophia.
"No," came Stein's voice from the entrance, "it's a wormhole."
"Professor Stein, what are you doing?" asked Caitlin in a panic as Stein walked in. She rushed over to him. "Your blood pressure is one-forty-seven over eighty-two! You could pass out again."
"Oh, it's merely a few points above the one-forty average for someone my age," he rebutted, waving dismissive hands. "Besides, I have some ideas I would like to contribute to this discussion, Dr. Snow."
"And I want to hear them," Jay insisted. "This isn't just a wormhole. It's my way home."
"Back to Earth Two," Caitlin sighed.
Barry pursed his lips, putting his hands on his hips as he looked back toward the breach. "Jay, you really think that we can use . . . this as some kind of bridge from your world to ours?"
"Zoom uses the breaches," Jay pointed out. "Why can't we?"
"We don't know how," Cisco rebutted. "Sophia's thirty trillion and nine IQ can't even figure it out."
Sophia shrugged. "Everything I put through just bounces back."
Barry folded his arms. "If Zoom's using these breaches to transport people from Earth Two, maybe it takes a speedster."
Suddenly, a flash of lightning zoomed behind themβBarry was going to test his hypothesis.
Cisco's eyebrows furrowed. "He's not gonnaβ"
"Yeah, he is," Sophia sighed.
And just like everything Sophia had chucked at the breach that morning, Barry bounced back from the breach. He landed behind them, groaning as he rolled to a stop.
Still laid on the ground, he gave them a half-smile and shrugged. "Maybe I'm not fast enough."
"I don't believe your speed is the entirety of the issue, Barry," Stein pointed out as Barry got to his feet. "It might be the breach's stability or lack thereof."
"He's right," Sophia agreed, frowning and brushing off the dust on Barry's shoulder. "We need to think of the breach as a door, and on Earth Two, there's another door. In between, we have a hallway, but the hallway's constantly shifting, twistingβcollapsing upon itself."
"And the doors keep moving with it," Barry murmured.
"So," Cisco reasoned, "we stabilize the door, we stabilize the hallway."
Barry pointed at him and nodded. "And then I can jump through it."
"Exactly, it would serve as a kind of cannon," Jay agreed. "A speed cannon."
"Mm," Cisco gave a hum of approval to the name. "We should hang out more."
"All right. No more tests today." Stein stepped in front of the breach with raised hands. "All of you are leaving now, as am I. Cherish the gift of youth as I will go cherish my much needed nap. Clarissa's already on her way to pick me up."
Sophia gave him a small smile as Stein walked past her. He seemed to be feeling okay, though she couldn't help but share Caitlin's concern. But if he was insisting that he was fine, there was only so much that they could do.
A hand on her back turned her attention to Barry, who then kissed the side of her head. "Cisco and Caitlin want to go to Jitters. You wanna go?"
She smiled. "I could never say no to that."
He quirked an eyebrow as he teased, "To spending more time with me, right?"
"Yeah . . . totally what I meant!"
Iris happened to be at Jitters when they arrived, and she invited them to sit at her table. Barry offered to get the coffees, and so they all ordered the new special: the Flash, a brewed coffee with a shot of espresso. After the last few nights of barely an hour of sleep, that was exactly what she needed.
Sophia furrowed her eyebrows as she looked over at Caitlin, who was nervously fidgeting with her phone. "What's up, Cait? Waiting for a call or something?"
"No." She pressed her lips together, a crease forming between her brows. "I mean, only if something's wrong. But Professor Stein is fine, right?"
"He looked a-okay to me." Cisco shrugged. "He was walking, and, like, not unconscious on the floor, so . . ."
"He's a smart guy," Iris reassured her. "I'm sure if he wasn't feeling well, he would let you know."
"That's the problem." Caitlin sighed, checking her phone again. "He wouldn't. He has too much . . . pride to tell me that. He might just be pretending to be fine because he knows something might be wrong, and he doesn't want to admit that."
"Geniuses, am I right?" Cisco scoffed, and then he elbowed Sophia in the side. "So annoying."
"Shut up, Cisco."
"Hey, isn't that the police officer that Barry saved?" Caitlin suddenly asked, craning her neck toward the front counter.
"Oh, yeah, Detective Spivot," Iris said, leaning over to see. "I think her name's Patty."
Sophia looked overβsure enough, it was the detective that Barry had saved from the Sand Demon. She was about to turn back to her friends, but stopped when she noticed the smile on Patty's face. Maybe she was overreacting, but she wasn't particularly fond of the way she was looking at him.
She shook her head. She was definitely just making that up.
"Yo, Soph, is it just me or is the detective checking Barry out?"
"Shut up, Cisco."
"Y'know . . ." Iris leaned over to glance at Patty again before shrugging. "I don't wanna be the bearer of bad news, but I think Cisco might be right."
"No, guys, stop," Caitlin reasoned with a shake of the head. "Barry's not like that."
"I didn't say anything about Barry," Cisco pointed out. "I told him I'd brutally murder him if he ever acted up."
"Yeah," Caitlin laughed, "and I'm sure he was shaking in his boots when you told him."
Sophia frowned as she looked at the two again, and it didn't help that Patty was giggling about something, or that Barry was grinning. Of course, she couldn't be upset about Barry smiling at other women, but . . .
She had to stop. The last thing she wanted was to spiral over something stupid.
"Shut up, guys." Sophia waved her hands. "Let's not."
"Yeah, we shouldn't talk about that," Iris agreed. "Only because Barry's coming back though. We'll talk later."
Sophia sighed. She didn't like the weird feeling that was making its way through her stomach. She was never one to be jealous. She was pretty sure she had never been jealous at all during her relationship with Barry. And it's not like she didn't trust Barryβif she couldn't trust him, she couldn't trust anyone. But something about that interaction made her a little queasy, and the fact that her friends picked up on it too didn't help.
Whatever. That was nothingβshe had way more important things to think about. She decided to shove that into the back of her mind.
"All right," Barry mumbled as he approached, carefully placing five mugs down on the table, "five Flashes. Be carefulβapparently, they are super-caffeinated."
"Perfect," Sophia sighed as she brought the mug to her lips.
"You have to watch your caffeine intake, missy." Cisco wagged a finger at her after taking a sip of his drink. "You drink too much coffee."
"No, I don't," she scoffed, and Cisco raised an eyebrow.
"How many cups have you had today?"
She thought about it for a moment, and very quickly decided that admitting that she's already had four would only prove him right. She hid her face with her mug as she took a sip.
"That's what I thought."
"First I have a day named after me." Barry stared at the cup for a moment before chuckling. "Now I have a drink.
"Well," Iris pointed out, "all the things you do, rebuilding this place, protecting peopleβeveryone's appreciative, right?
"Mhm," Cisco hummed, clinking his mug against hers. "I'll drink to that."
"Hey, I know we just talked about it, but . . . you guys think Professor Stein is okay, right?" Caitlin asked with an uneasy look. Her worry was not masked well by her higher-pitched voice or her tight clutch on her phone. "I mean, Clarissa would call if there was anything wrong."
Iris nodded. "Yeah."
"All right." Caitlin got to her feet, scrunching her face. "I'm just gonna call and check in. I'll be back.
"Uhβ" Barry didn't manage to get his words out as Caitlin hurried off. "I don't see that call going well."
"Young lady," Cisco said, mimicking Stein's voice, "these repeated intrusions are interrupting what should be a speedy recovβoh," he said quickly to a woman who had just bumped into him. "I'm so sorry."
"Don't apologize." The woman turned around, a sly smile on her face. "You can bump into me any day, Cisco."
Sophia let out a soft groan. She knew exactly who this woman was.
"Lisa Snart," Cisco scoffed. "You here to double-cross us again, or are you and your big bro holding up coffee shops now?"
She pouted. "I need your help."
Sophia narrowed her eyes at the expression on Cisco's face. Despite getting kidnapped by her, Cisco seemed a different kind of nervous; not in a scared way, more in a shy way.
She groaned internally. No way he still liked her. She was going to have to slap some sense into him later.
"In your dreams, Sister Cold. You know I could call the Flash," Cisco threatened. "He'd be here in like two secondsβprobably one."
"Call him."
"Oh, okay. I'm gonna call him," Cisco spluttered, pulling his phone out of his pocket. "Mhm."
Sophia didn't know whether to laugh or groan. She glanced at Barry, who seemed to be having the same conflict.
Cisco wrinkled his nose when she didn't object. "You really want me to call the Flash?"
"I need his help, too," she said, her pout still prominent. "My brother's been kidnapped."
β π β
"All right," Barry started, now disguised in his suit, "so you really want us to just believe that Captain Cold was kidnapped?"
"I saw it happen," Lisa insisted as she walked to the middle of the Cortex. "Last night, Lenny, me, and Mick were knocking over the cashier's cage at Central City Racetrack."
"Does it physically pain your family not to rob people?" Caitlin scoffed.
Lisa gave an innocent shrug. "I never finished the job." She shook her head and continued, "After Mick torched through the side entrance, I looked back for Lenny and saw him getting thrown into the back of a van."
"And why didn't you and Mick follow?" questioned Barry.
"I would have." She scorned. "Someone hit me from behind and knocked me out. When I came to, Lenny was gone, and Mick already made off with the cash."
Sophia frowned. Lisa seemed convincing enough, but this certainly wouldn't be the first time someone's tried to trick them. "How do we know this isn't some kind of a trap?"
"If Lenny wanted Flash dead, he would have let Mardon, Simmons, and Bivolo take that honor, remember?"
Barry nodded. "Yeah, I remember."
"Good. Then you'll also recall that you owe Lenny a favour for saving your life. Time to make good on that debt, Flash."
"I do not like her," Caitlin said pointedly, turning to Barry. Sophia nodded in agreement.
"Yeah, but she makes a point," Cisco murmured. When both Sophia and Caitlin gave him the same incredulous look, he protested, "What? We should at least hear her out." He looked back at Lisa, who had a small smirk on her face. "Right?"
"Even if I wanted to help, how are we supposed to find him?" Barry pointed out.
"Not a problem," Cisco said quickly, and he headed behind the front desk. "See, when I rebuilt the cold gun, I didn't have time to place a tracker on it, so I devised a method of locating it by borrowing some military technology." As they crowded around him, they saw the scan of the city that he had pulled up. "See, the gun works the same as thermal imaging, only instead of infrared heat signatures, it's looking for ultraviolet cold signatures." A beep sounded, and he zoomed in on the ping. "Whoa, look at that. The gun's UV thermal reading was last picked up at fifth and Hoyt eight minutes ago."
"All right," Barry sighed, all of their gazes turning up to Lisa. "Let's see if you're a liar."
β π΅ β
Barry stared incredulously at Snart, who seemed to be just fine as he snuck his way through a rather messy office.
"Snart!" he whisper-yelled.
Snart didn't seem alarmed in the least at his appearance as he returned the same tone, "Barry!"
Barry furrowed his eyebrows. "Are you okay?"
Snart pursed his lips and shrugged. "Peachy."
Barry followed him as he crossed the room. "Okay . . . uh . . . I'm supposed to be here to rescue you."
"That's not necessary," Snart replied, picking up a rolled blueprint from one of the desks and then making a shooing motion. "You can speed along now."
"Look, Snart," Barry said carefully as Snart picked up a few more papers, "if these guys are making you do thisβ"
"No one makes me do anything," he corrected, turning to Barry with a sneer.
"Then why does your sister think you've been kidnapped?"
The sound of a door opening drew Barry's attention away. It was only a moment later when a blast of ice encased his feet up to his chestβSnart had pulled his cold gun out. He groaned at the cold seeping through his suit, scrunching his face.
"What's takin' so long?"
A balding man about twice their age walked toward themβSnart's supposed kidnapper, he assumed.
Barry kept his breaths short, little whimpers slipping out of his mouth. The cold felt like it was making its way through his bloodstream, freezing everything in its path. God, it was painful.
"I got held up," Snart replied.
"Always the excuse with you . . ." The man trailed off when he saw Barry. He gave Barry a toothy grin. "Well, look at that. I didn't think you had it in you, son."
Snart smirked. "Thanks, Dad."
Barry wasn't sure what he was getting more shock from: the cold freezing his skin or this surprise reveal. Well, he knew based on the way he was pretty sure he was going to die from frostbite within the next few minutes.
"Come on," said Snart's father. "We're behind schedule."
"You know what they say," Snart told Barry as he began to walk away, following his father, "'Live fast, die young.'"
Barry's head fell back as he closed his eyes. He wasn't sure how much longer he could take this.
"Talk to me," came Cisco's voice through his ear piece. "What's goin' on?"
"Cisco!" Barry managed to get out. "Snart hit me with his cold gun!"
Suddenly, his frozen face was hit with steam. Warmth quickly overtook the cold, spreading from his chest and down his body.
"What?" he breathed out. What the hell kind of miracle was happening? "The suitβwhat's happening?"
"Therma-threading, baby!" exclaimed Cisco. "It's a little something I added for situations exactly like this one."
"Um, Cisco?" scoffed Sophia. "Forgetting to credit someone?"
"Blah, blah, blah, Sophia came up with the idea, who cares, I'm the one that actually implemented it."
Barry groaned in relief as his body was freed from the ice. He stretched his fingers. That was just about the worst minute of his life.
"Please . . ." nervously said Sophia. "Please tell me it's working."
"Yeah, it worked," he reassured her. "But Snart's goneβand Lisa has a lot of explaining to do."

"So, your brother was not kidnapped. He was pulling a job," Barry told Lisa, rounding the front desk in the Cortex. He put a humourless smile on his face. "With your father."
"What?" Lisa breathed out, her eyebrows furrowed. She shook her head. "No. Lenny would never do that."
"Oh!" Caitlin scoffed. "Just like he would never try and kill the Flash with his cold gun."
Lisa ignored Caitlin's jab. "Are you sure it was my dad?"
Suddenly, a personal arrest record appeared on the TV screensβCisco had pulled it up. The mugshots of Lewis Snart appeared, his harsh features forming a scowl.
Barry walked up to the TV and pointed at it. "That's him."
Sophia walked closer to the screen, squinting her eyes as she read the record. "Lewis Snart. Convicted of larceny, armed robbery, aggravated assault, assault with a deadly weaponβ"
"You have to believe me," Lisa pleaded. "Lenny would never work with him. He's a bad guy."
"You and your entire family are criminals," Caitlin pointed out. "Why should we trust anything you say?"
Lisa looked off to the side for a moment before sighing. She pulled her shirt and leather jacket to the side, revealing a scar going across her right collarbone and down a bit of her shoulder. "I didn't get this scar being a criminal. I got it being a daughter."
Sophia frowned as Lisa walked away. She obviously seemed sincere enoughβshe knew Lisa had enough love for her brother to be this worried. Something wasn't adding up.
Barry took a step to follow Lisa out, though Cisco held a hand out. "Let me go. I got this."
Sophia leaned toward Caitlin. "Should we be worried about that?"
Caitlin sighed. "Absolutely."
Sophia turned to Barry, who was frowning at the entrance. She exhaled as she traced the lightning emblem on his chest. "You sure you're okay?"
His eyes flicked to her, and he nodded. "I'm fine."
"Let's go back to my place," she offered, running her hand down his arm. "Get you warmed up a little more."
He smiled and nodded. As usual, before she could even open her mouth to suggest taking her car, he grabbed her waist and heavy winds were flung at her.
"A warning would be nice," she groaned when they got to her living room, fixing all the hair that had blown in front of her face.
"Sorry, babe," he chuckled, pecking her cheek. "I'm gonna take a warm shower."
"Okay."
"Although . . ." He shrugged, pressing his lips into a pout. "I bet I could get a lot warmer if someone else were in there with me."
Her cheeks grew hot. "That's too bad, I took a shower this morning."
He rolled his eyes in amusement, and before she could blink, they were in the bathroom.
She jabbed a finger in his direction. "That's gotta be some kind of kidnapping."
"Actually," he rebutted, swiping some of the hair out of her eyes for her, "I work for the police, and I can tell you that it's not."
"Oh," she laughed, wrapping her arms around his neck as he began to kiss the side of her jaw, "I'm sure you learn a lot about the law up in that lab you're barely in."
Apparently, he decided to lose this argument as he moved his lips up to hers. She quickly helped him take his sweater off, and then the flannel beneath between kisses.
As his hands slid down her jeans, fumbling with the button, he pressed kisses against the base of her neck, and she tilted her head back to give him more room. She breathed his name out as he pulled her jeans off, and that only seemed to excite him more.
He lifted her up onto the sink counter, returning his lips to hers. The fire between her legs was growing hotter, and butterflies swarmed from her stomach to her throat as he helped her take her top off, his fingers skimming against her skin in the process.
The warmth of his skin against hers excited her. She slowly rubbed her hand against the bulge through his jeans as she kissed him, taking pleasure in the soft groan that he let out.
She lightly caressed the bottom of his jaw as she whispered, "Go get protection, I'll start the shower."
He gave her a small grin and peck on the lips before leaving the bathroom, at a rather hurrying pace. She walked over to the shower, twisting it on. She let the water pour onto her fingers, and let out a small hum of satisfaction when it was warm enough.
A pair of arms wrapping around her stomach surprised her, and she gave a small yelp. Barry's chuckle vibrated against her skin as he pressed his lips against her neck.
She felt the warmth of his fingers brushing against her back as he unclasped her bra and let it fall to the floor. His hands glided over the outline of her figure before stopping at the hem of her underwear, which he hooked his thumbs under. As he continued his kisses down her neck, he dragged her underwear down to the floor. His lips reached her shoulder, and she relaxed her body against him as his hands began to massage her breasts.
After a moment, she turned toward him, keeping her eyes locked with his as she quickly unbuttoned his jeans. Once she pulled those and his boxers down, her eyes fixed on his excited cock. She grabbed his hand and slowly backed into the shower, feeling the hot water stream against her body as she led him in.
As soon as they were both inside, she kneeled against the cold tile, feeling his eager gaze on her. She tucked her damp hair behind her ears before taking a hold of the base of his member. Slowly, she took him into her mouth, letting her tongue lead the way in. Her eyes flicked up to his face as he let out a breath, and she loved the look of pleasure that had taken over him.
She began to bob her hand, letting her hand do the work where her mouth couldn't reach. She ran her tongue over the veins on his member.
"Fuck, Soph," he groaned, twisting his fingers into her hair as he leaned his head back against the shower door. "You're amazing."
She continued to move her head for a few more minutes, his cock growing hotter with each movement.
Slowly, Barry pulled her to her feet, his hungry eyes set into hers. He gently pressed her against the wall, the cold from the tiling creeping onto her backside while the water from the shower warmed her front. He kissed her lips shortly before opening the shower door, reaching out and grabbing the packaged condom that he had left on the sink.
He kissed her once more before lowering his mouth to her breasts. As he unwrapped the condom, he placed gentle pecks around the curves before clasping his mouth around one of her buds. She let out a moan as bliss shot up her chest, pressing her head back against the wall.
He moved to the other one as he rolled the condom onto his member. His tongue flicked against her sensitive skin, and once his hands were free, he roamed his hands around her ass for a moment before squeezing it.
He kissed his way back up to her lips. "Ready?"
She placed her hand on his cheek, her body throbbing with yearning. She kissed him before murmuring, "Yes."
He positioned himself, taking a moment before his tip was at her entrance. Her chest heaved with anticipation.
He thrust upwards, and immediate satisfaction rushed through her body. She moaned his name before kissing him, the water helping her glide her fingers through his hair.
He rested a hand on her waist, the other leaned against the wall to support himself. He pressed his forehead against hers, his eyes locked on hers as he continued to thrust into her, deeper each time.
Her eyebrows knit together tightly as she rested her hands on the back of his neck, moans slipping out of her mouth every time he pushed into her. His heavy pants brushed against her skin.
"You're so fucking sexy," he muttered, taking his hand off her waist and lowering it to her clit. Her moans got louder as he rubbed his fingers against it, a fire quickly spreading through her.
She kissed him harder, though she had to break away after a moment to rest her forehead on his chest, her face twisted with pleasure as she moaned. Everything felt incredibleβhis cock being thrust deep inside her, his fingers delighting her bundle of nerves, his skin on hers, the warm water raining on them.
After a few minutes, he slowly pulled himself out of her, making her frown. "Is something wrong?"
He only shook his head in response before putting both hands on her waist and turning her around. Goosebumps rose as he pressed her against the wall, the sensitive skin of her breasts against the cold making her wince.
He put one hand on her waist to help balance her as he lifted one of her legs. He positioned himself again before thrusting into her.
She let out a soft curse as he continued thrusting into her, scrunching her face as pleasure filled her. She pressed her forehead against the wall, that being the only cooling against the heat that was rising through her body.
Slowly, he took his hand off her waist and began to squeeze her breasts, his thumb rubbing against her nipple, making her groan in delight. She gripped her fingertips on the grooves of the tiles, her nails scraping against the grout as he pushed into her. She shut her eyes. She loved him so much. She never wanted this to end.
Barry wrapped his arms around her, hugging her from behind as he continued to push himself into her. He dug his head into the crook of her neck, his hot breath seeping into her skin and his groans vibrating against her.
"Sophia," he groaned, his thrusts becoming slower and harder. "Fuck, I'm gonna cum."
She turned her head as he leaned forward, kissing him hard. His small groans became much more frequent.
With a final push, his arms around her tightened and his moan was muffled as he pressed his face against the back of her shoulder.
Slowly, he pulled out.
She panted as she turned back around, her hands caressing his face as she kissed him. "That was amazing," she whispered to him, pecking his cheek.
His eyebrows furrowed as his hands settled on her hips. "You think we're done?"
"But youβ"
"And you haven't."
"Barry," she tutted, though she couldn't stop the smile on her face. "You don't have to."
He rolled his eyes and kissed her forehead before lowering himself, kissing down her stomach. He glanced up at her for a moment before kissing the insides of her thighs, his hands lowering to the sides of her legs.
She shut her eyes, leaning her head against the wall, anticipation building between her legs as he grew closer.
As soon as his tongue touched her clit, she cried out, her knees almost buckling as he latched his mouth onto her heat. He slowly ran his tongue through her folds, making her breathe his name out a thousand times as she grasped onto his hair.
The pleasure was quickly building up through her body. She was pressing her head so hard against the tiling she was almost afraid she would somehow make a hole.
He moved his tongue back up to her clit, running circles around it, and he traced over her entrance with a finger.
"Oh my God, Barry," she moaned, her hold on his hair becoming so tight she hoped she wasn't hurting him. "Oh my fucking God."
She pressed her lips together as he thrust two fingers into her, her moan passing as a loud hum. He pushed his fingers up and down as he continued to lick her heat, both actions growing faster with each passing moment.
His other hand slid up her body and began to play with her breasts. He circled his thumb around her nipple, his hand moving along with the heaves of her chest.
She was almost there. She squeezed her eyes shut, channelling her pleasure through her quick breaths and moans. She concentrated on the way his tongue brushed through all the right spots, the satisfaction that his thrusting fingers brought her, the gaze of passion he had on her.
"Fuck, Barry," she groaned. "I'm gonna . . ."
It happened before she could even get the words out.
White-hot flashes hit her body, with waves of euphoria making her entire body shake. She moaned, but this time she had no clue how loud with all the blood roaring through her ears.
Slowly, she slid down to the ground, matching Barry's level. He kissed her before resting his forehead against hers.
"I love you, Snowpea," he whispered, pecking her lips again.
The ringing of her phone drew her attention to the pile of clothes on the ground. She sighed. It was all already overβback to work.
"Good timing, I guess," Barry offered, helping her to her feet.
She let the water stream over her for a moment, allowing her body to calm down, before stepping out, murmuring to Barry to actually take his shower. The phone stopped ringing as she grabbed a towel and quickly dried her hair. She wrapped the towel around her and picked her phone up. Cisco had called.
She kicked her clothes into her bedroom as she called him back.
"Hey, Soph. You busy?"
"No," she replied, putting it on speakerphone and laying her phone on her bed as she dried her body. "What's up?"
"I just finished talking to Lisa. She thinks she knows where he would be."
She frowned. "She 'thinks'?"
"It would barely take Barry a minute to check," he pointed out.
"Fair enough," she sighed, clipping her bra back on. "Okay, he's in the shower but I'll have him go. Text me the address."
