๐๐๐๐๐ ๐๐๐ ๐๐๐๐ one place that Barry figured Sophia could be. So, after grabbing a bouquet of roses to hopefully help his case, he sped to the workshop in STAR Labs.
Sure enough, she was there, hammering away at some creation. She glanced at him as she approached, though her tight lips told him she wouldn't be the first to talk.
"Soph," he said gently, praying his voice wouldn't break, "you know I didn't mean what I said, right?"
Her glance at him was longer this time, but he wasn't all too sure she was happy with his words as she hammered even harder. He decided that this three-foot distance was close enough. And that, with that hammer in her hands, maybe he should really watch his words.
"I know, Barry," she finally said, dropping the hammer onto the table beside her. She looked up at him, and now able to get a good look, he realized that her eyes were quite red and puffy. "But it still hurts coming from you. At a time like this."
Barry sighed. "I don't even know what to say that can fix it."
"No, you don't have toโ" She sighed, plopping down onto one of the chairs and resting her forehead on her hand. "I understand, Barry. It's fine."
He shook his head. "It's not fine, Iโ"
"Listen," she interrupted, lifting her head and braving a smile, "I don't want to spend our possibly last night together fighting, okay? I forgive you, let's just go home."
Barry knew that if he insisted anymore, he would just keep getting the same responseโand he was more than happy that she had forgiven him so easily, especially when he was more than worthy of receiving anger.
He cupped her cheek. "I don't deserve you, Snowpea."
She smiled and shook her head. "You deserve a lot more than me. Now, are those flowers for me or did you upset another girl?"
"For you, of course." He laughed and handed them to her with a kiss on the cheek.
"Bring me home," she murmured, getting up from her chair. "Let's enjoy the rest of the night."
โ ๐ฎ โ
"Did I ever get around to mentioning," Sophia said as she carefully placed the flowers in a vase, "that Caitlin and Ronnie are getting married tomorrow?"
Judging by Barry's wide eyes and gaping mouth, she hadn't brought that up. Though, to be fair, when could she have? "What?"
"Yeah." She placed the vase on her coffee table and sat on the couch. She patted beside her, and he quickly sat down as she continued, "I was helping Cait dress shop today."
"Butโhowโwhenโ"
"As far as I know," she replied with a shrug, "Stein is officiating and we're doing it just outside STAR Labs."
"Wow," Barry managed to say through all his shock. "Okay. Wow."
"Is it that surprising?" She laughed. "They've been engaged since before the accelerator explosion, and with all the craziness going on now, better just get it done."
"I guess." He nodded. A grin slowly spread on his face, and he got off the couch. His attempt to disguise his grin with a serious expression failed miserably, and even more so as he exaggeratedly knelt. "Sophia Byun, will youโ"
"Get up, Allen." She laughed, tugging on his shirt.
"Too soon?" he questioned with a mock sad face, sitting back beside her. "You know I like to move fast."
"Try again in a year or two." Her smile faded a bit when she remembered that, most likely, he wouldn't be here in a couple of daysโnever mind years. But then she decided not to think about that, and her smile brightened.
It seemed as though Barry had the same thought as his smile flickered, but he didn't voice it either. "I will."
She gazed at him for a moment more before sighing. "What do you wanna do?"
"Well," he said, glancing at the clock, "it's basically midnight, so we should get to bed."
She frowned. "I wanted to do something first, though. We can't just fight and make up and then go to sleep."
He shifted a little closer to her, his upper lip now curling a little. "Who said anything about going to sleep?"
"You did. You said we should get toโ"
"Bed," he whispered, his face now inches from hers. "Not sleep. You know, there are other things to do on that bed than sleep."
She took the hint, and her cheeks warmed. "We better get to bed quickly then."
Her request was instantly heeded. One moment, she was sitting on the couch, the next, she was laid back on her bed.
Barry shut the lights off, though the silvery moonlight that filtered through the curtains gave them an adequate glow to see.
She watched his outline grow closer, and just as he reached the foot of the bed, she could make out his face. The loving smile that always made her forget her worries. His blue-grey eyes that she could never miss in the biggest crowd. His tender hands that held and caressed her with nothing but love. And they would all be gone in the blink of an eyeโall the more reason to cherish the now.
His lips met hers in no time. Her hands immediately grasped his hair as his body rested on top of hers. The kisses were short but longing, and he began to kiss down her neck. She tilted her head to the side, exposing more skin for him to land his lips. She had never enjoyed the feeling of his lips treasuring her skin more than she did right now.
His fingers began to unbutton her blouse as he moved his lips back to hers. Her hands released his hair and slid down to his cheeks, and every brief moment between kisses she used to send her love through gazes.
She groaned in pleasure when his body vibrated against hers. That was one of the perks of dating the Flashโhis, well . . . excitement caused his body to vibrate in short instances. He found it embarrassing, but she was nothing but pleased.
She helped him pull her blouse off, and her pants came off next. His shirt and jeans followed that, and the pile was left on the ground.
His skin was warm against hers. Their steadied breathing had turned into heavy pants between minutes of kisses and soft moans escaped between each one.
He managed to unhook her bra in record time and tossed it to join the other clothes. The cold air stung her sensitive skin, but that was compensated by the fire in her stomach as Barry shifted downwards.
His kisses started at the base of her neck, slowly trailed down her chest, and ended just below her soft curves. While his hands grazed her waist, his lips latched onto one of her buds, and she let out a soft cry of pleasure. Her head tilted back, her hands gripping the sides of her pillow as his tongue flicked over the sensitive area and caused all sorts of sensations inside her stomach.
As soon as he had moved to the other one, his entire body vibrated, only increasing the bliss. His name left her mouth in a whisper, and then once again, much louder.
He kissed his way back up to her lips, his hand now gently massaging her breast. She could feel his bulge growing, pressed against her. She wasn't sure how much longer she could waitโone moment gone was another moment wasted.
"Barry," she breathed out between kisses, her eyes urgently gazing into his, "I need you. Please."
As usual, her plea was answered within a second.
Her eyes were set on his as he slowly entered her. No words left their mouths, but she knew what he was saying. She knew that all his love was being poured into this very second. She understood his tender words, apologies, and devotion. And to reply, she kissed him deeply.
His strokes were becoming more steady, and she had to refrain from waking up the entire building. Instead, she turned those screams of pleasure into short gasps and occasional moans.
Every time he groaned her name, the fire in her stomach grew. She couldn't manage to say anything more than his name and that she loved him, but she was sure that was enough to get the message across.
Her hands had been exploring his shoulders for a minute only when another moment of his vibration struck just as he pushed deeper, and she had to grip onto the sides of the mattress to contain the pleasure.
Barry dipped his head beside hers, and she could hear him panting heavily. His breaths were hot on the side of her neck, though they were quickly replaced by the kisses he peppered on next.
"I love you so much, Sophia," he whispered, adding a couple of more kisses to her lips. "So much."
"I love you, too," she murmured, giving him a short smile before kissing him again.
His hands, previously supporting him from the bed, gripped her waist. His rhythm quickened, as did the shaking of the bed, and while Sophia would usually worry that the squeaking and creaking weren't as quiet as they seemed to be, right now, she couldn't love the sound anymore.
When she begged him to go deeper, he hooked her right leg around his waist and took no time to fulfill her needs. At this point, each thrust was getting her moans louder and louder, and her grip on the mattress was starting to hurt.
He laid his head beside hers again, and she enjoyed the warmth between them. His skin directly on hers. His body brushing up and down against hers as he pumped, exciting every inch of her.
A cry of pleasure instantly left her lips as he began to play with her clit. Perfectly timed, he vibrated once again, and her mind transformed into pure bliss. Her head tilted back as her delight increased, and she knew she was growing close.
Sacrificing the speed, he began to thrust harder, deeper into her. His thumb continued to circle around her bundle of nerves, and she was unable to do anything but scrunch her eyebrows and whimper.
His forehead rested on top of hers, and his eyes quickly flickered over her face before settling on her eyes. His lips grazed hers for a moment before he landed a soft kiss, though he didn't separate for long when she grabbed his cheeks and pulled him in for a deeper one.
His soft grunts mixed with her moans, and they exchanged heavy breaths. Every stroke satisfied her further, and she was nearly at her limit.
"Fuck," Barry muttered, panting, "I'm so close."
Her hands travelled to his shoulders as he thrust even harder than before, and she closed her eyes.
It was only a minute later when he finished, judging by his sudden pause and soft groan. For her sake, he continued rubbing her clit and kissing her neck.
Barry's last vibration is what sent her over the edge. Her back arched as waves of pleasure crashed through her entire body, and for just a moment, her mind was nothing but elated. Her head lolled to the side as she moaned, her grip as tight as ever on him, and she enjoyed it for as long as she could.
Barry mumbled a curse as he slowly slid out of her. He dropped beside her, his arms immediately reaching for her and pulling her close to him.
She turned towards him, resting her head on his chest as he stroked the back of her hair. He pressed a kiss onto her head.
"No matter what happens, Soph," he whispered before kissing her temple, "I will always love you."

The light was blinding when Barry awoke, and he buried his head in the crook of Sophia's neck.
He wasn't sure if she had already been awake or if his movement had woken her, but he didn't mind as she slowly raked a hand up the back of his hair and sighed.
"Good morning," he muttered into her skin.
She clearly wasn't fully awake as she murmured some incoherent mess back.
He chuckled. He kissed her shoulder before unwrapping his arms from her and slowly forcing himself out of bed.
He checked the clock to see that it was already nearing nine. It felt as though lately there weren't enough hours in the day, and he wasn't too keen on spending more worrying about his fate.
He pursed his lips together before turning to Sophia, who was sitting up and yawning. "You hungry?"
She shrugged. "I just need some coffee and I'll be good."
He nodded and, once he had thrown some clothes on, he headed into her kitchen. He was already pretty familiar with what was where, so it was no problem for him to make the coffee.
He poured a cup for himself along with hers, and he made sure to be careful carrying them both back into the bedroom.
Sophia was still in bed when he entered, sitting back against the headboard and texting someone with a frown.
"Everything okay?" Barry asked as he handed her the mug.
"I guess." She sighed, putting her phone down. "Cisco's just asked me if you've made your decision."
"What'd you tell him?"
"I told him I don't know yet." She pressed her lips together while he sat beside her. "Do you know?"
Barry bit his lower lip. He had had enough time to think it over while tossing and turning all night.
As much as he loved this life, and as much as he loved Sophia, he couldn't help but wonder what kind of life he could've had. That he was supposed to have. This wasn't a new wonder, either. From the moment his father was put behind bars, Barry had wished for his family to be back together again. And now was his opportunity to fulfill those dreams.
"Yeah. I know."
She didn't look very hopeful as she pressed, "And?"
He took a sip of his coffee before turning to face her, and he met her gaze. "You know . . . You know I love you, right?"
"So you're doing it." She sighed, and his heart dropped a little when she turned her eyes to her lap. "Okay."
"I'm so sorryโ"
"No, Barry. Don't be." She chuckled lightly, kissing his cheek. "This is what I want you to do. Never apologize."
"But . . ."
"You're a great, wonderful, amazing man, Barry Allen," she murmured, shuffling closer to him and resting her head on his shoulder. He shifted his mug to his other hand and used his now free hand to wrap around her waist. "I've been very lucky to have you. I will never forget you, or the things you've done for the city. For the team. For me."
"I love you so much, Sophia." Barry sucked in his cheeks, hoping that he could keep his eyes dry. He swallowed and rested his head on top of hers. "I wish we could've had more time."
โ ๐ต โ
"Ah." Wells sighed as the Pipeline door opened. "Well, if it makes you feel any better, it took you a whole hour longer to decide than I thought it would."
Barry ignored the remark. "So, how does this work? Your . . . grand plan."
"Well, it's really not that grand at all, Barry. In fact, it's rather simple," Wells corrected. "We use the particle accelerator."
"The particle acceโ" Barry gave a scoffing chuckleโthat idea was ridiculous. "The last time that happened, you caused an explosion that hurt a lot of people."
"This time, the accelerator will operate exactly the way it was designed to," he replied. "Except instead of two particles moving in opposite directions, colliding at the speed of light in the inner ring, we're only gonna inject one particle into the accelerator."
Barry's doubt immediately faded away as realization took its place. "And I'm what it collides with."
"And if you can go fast enough, Barry," continued Wells, growing more excited, "if you can hit that particle with enough speed, you will punch a hole right through the fabric of reality. And you will create a portal connecting this time . . . to infinite times."
The corners of Barry's lips twitched. It made sense. "A wormhole."
"Through which one might travel back to the pastโsay, to the night your mother diedโor forward to the future to, say, my time."
Barry folded his arms. "You said if I run fast enough. What happens if I don't?"
"If you don't achieve the desired velocity, Barry," he said with a sudden solemn look, "you'll die."
โ ๐ต โ
"According to Wells' calculations, Barry super-speeds inside the accelerator ring," began Stein to the listening team in the Cortex. "Once Barry reaches optimum speed, we then launch a hydrogen proton into the accelerator. Once the collision happens, a wormhole forms, opening a gateway into time itself. At the moment, I plan on shouting something along the lines of: 'Eureka,' or possibly, 'Excelsior.' I'm uncommitted."
Barry walked towards Sophia and Cisco, the both of them sitting behind the main desk, and nodded. "What do you think?"
"I mean," sighed Cisco, "on the one hand, it does make a kind of sense. On the other hand . . . why? Why? Why would you ever consider doing this? Soph, please convince him!"
Barry didn't bother to look at Sophia as he shrugged and sighed. "You know why."
"So for this to work, how fast would Barry have to go?" asked Caitlin.
Barry looked at Sophia, who frowned. "I'd guess . . . Mach two. At least."
Caitlin's eyes widened. "You've never gone that fast."
"So, what happens if Barry doesn't reach that speed?" tentatively asked Joe. "I mean, I'm imagining a bug hitting a windshield. How far off am I?"
Stein shook his head. "Not very far, I'm afraid."
Barry was very much aware of the worried looks he was receiving from everyone. "Let me worry about how fast I have to go." He turned to Cisco. "We're gonna need something else, too."
"Really? And what's that?" Cisco asked snarkily with raised brows. "Because I don't know about you guys but I'm not at all interested in helping you get yourself killed."
Barry remained insistent as he stared into Cisco's eyes and stated, "I need you to build a time machine."
Cisco's eyes narrowed. "Go on."
