Episode 2 Part 2

STILES bursts through Scott's door and into his room.

"What did you find? How did you find it? Where did you find it? And yeah, I've had a lot of Adderall."

At his desk, Scott works on something, concentrating on it with exacting focus.

"I found something at Derek Hale's."

Stiles looks at him incredulously waving his hands as if saying go on, "Are you kidding? What?"

"Something's buried there. I smelled blood."

"That's awesome. I mean that's terrible. Whose blood?"

"That's what I need you to help me find out. And when we do, we're going to help your dad nail Derek for the murder. And then you're going to help me figure out how to play lacrosse without changing."

Scott stands, revealing what he's been working on so intently: his lacrosse stick. Now perfectly re-laced, he spins it in his hands with a look of pride.

"Because there's no way I'm not playing that game."

...

The doors of Beacon Hills Hospital slide open. Stiles and Scott casually walk past the front desk trying not to be conspicuous in front of waiting patients, nurses and orderlies.

Stiles nods to a set of double doors and a sign pointing to morgue. Scott quickly pushes through the doors as Stiles heads to a waiting area.

Scott steps inside the almost pitch black freezer room. He lights the display on his phone using it to search the labels on the drawer.

Locating one marked: "JANE DOE - partial. Police Evidence Do Not Tamper"

Scott takes a breath and yanks it open.

Standing outside in the corridor, Stiles looks to the waiting area and does a double take. Lydia Martin sits in one of the chairs. It's a moment of opportunity he simply cannot pass up. Leaving his post, he tentatively approaches her.

"Hey, Lydia. You probably don't remember me, but I sit behind you in Biology. And I know you're dating Jackson and all that, but I always thought we had a kind of connection. Unspoken, of course. But I sort of think it would be cool to get to know you. Sort of."

"Hold on. Give me a second."

Stiles looks at her, quite confused. But then she pulls out a Bluetooth headset that was covered by her hair.

"I'm sorry I didn't get any of what you just said. Is it worth repeating?"

"Uh... No. Sorry."

As she gives an irritated sigh, Stiles takes a seat far away from her, head falling into his hand.

Luna laughs as she lays on her bed looking up at her ceiling, "Who was that?"

Lydia frowns flipping through a magazine, "I don't know some kid from school... I think..."

Luna nods even though her friend couldn't see, "Is he cute?"

"Not my type."

Rolling her eyes, Luna sits up and glances out her window. She stares at Stiles' dark room then looks at his empty driveway.

"Did the guy have a buzzcut? Tall, lanky yet somewhat lean."

Lydia raises an eyebrow closing the magazine, "Yes... you know him?"

"Maybe... where did you say you were again?"

Scott covers his mouth while gazing down at the lower half of the body. He slowly pulls the drawer open to where the sheet finally flattens out just above the severed hip.

Removing his hand from his mouth, Scott pulls the sheet up to reveal the decayed and rotted feet. Then, unable to stand anymore, the sight or the smell, Scott covers up the body and slides the drawer shut.

Stiles watches with a jealous gaze from behind the pages of a hospital pamphlet as Lydia and Jackson kiss them walk off.

Out of nowhere, Scott yanks it out of his hands, surprising him.

"The scent was the same."

"You're sure?"

Scott nods and starts off with Stiles following.

"So he did bury the other half of the body on his property."

Scott nods, "Which means we have proof he killed the girl."

"Then I say we use it."

"How?"

Stiles sighs before giving Scott a serious look, "Tell me something first. Are you doing this because you want to stop Derek? Or because you want to play the game Saturday and he said you couldn't?"

"There were bite marks on the legs. Bite marks. And if he knows about Allison now..."

"Okay. Then we're going to need a shovel."

A shadow of a figure comes from around the corner of the hallway watching the two as they slam through the exit door and out into the night. The figure quickly get quietly follows behind.

...

Derek's black Dodge Challenger roars out from the long driveway leading to the dilapidated house. In its wake, Stile's Jeep slowly pulls forward.

Now carrying a shovel and pick, Scott and Stiles head for the house. But Scott pauses, glancing around.

"Something's different."

Stiles frowns, "Different how?"

But Scott shakes his head. He looks back to the road, listening for any sounds.

"Let's get this over with."

"What the hell are you two doing?"

Both boys leap into the air letting out a scream. They turn around seeing Luna leaning against a tree behind them.

"When the hell did you get here? Also stop popping up everywhere! You're just as bad as Derek."

Luna frowns rolling her eyes at Scott, "I'm not that bad."

Stiles sighs, "Don't try to stop us. We know your boyfriend's a killer."

"Boyfriend?" Luna and Scott glance at each other as they both mimic the same word.

"Derek's not my boyfriend Stilinski. Where would you get that idea from?"

"I don't know maybe it was the fact I saw you kiss him."

"What?"

"Okay stop doing that you two are creeping me out."

Sighing Luna holds her head, "Stilinski what the hell are you yapping about? I haven't kissed Derek."

"Oh so my eyes deceived me did they?"

"That's what I'm telling you."

Scott steps in between the two rolling his eyes, "Alright time out... Stiles when did you see her kiss Derek?"

"About an hour after school was out. I saw her get out his car. Who knows if she's his little sidekick."

"First of all, I'm not his fucking sidekick Stilinski. Second of all, I kissed his cheek not his lips."

Scott glances over at Luna as she mumbles to herself crossing her arms over her chest, "Sadly..."

He mimics her and crosses his arms then steps beside Stiles to slightly glare at her.

Noticing this she looks at him in confusion, "What?"

"Earlier when I confronted Derek, I heard a soft heartbeat. At the time I didn't know what or who it was. Now I know it was you. What were you doing here?"

Luna frowns dropping her arms to her side, "I just came here to ask him a question. I'm trying to figure out what the hell is happening just like you two."

Scott sighs looking into what he really believe was an honest face, "Fine, just keep your distance from him. There's something off about that guy."

"Can we get this over with before I back out?" Stiles asks as he shifts from one leg to another.

Scott nods and waves a hand beckoning the two to come along. Luna bites her lip in unsettledness but walks on. Unnerved now as well, Stiles follows him around the house to the edge of the woods. Waving him over, Scott kicks at the dirt on the ground. It's loose, gravelly.

They start digging as Luna sits criss cross nearby. Piles of dirt landing on the grass nearby. They work fast, Scott pulling up his sleeves as sweat starts to drip down his forehead.

"This is taking too long." Scott lets out a harsh breath.

"Just keep going."

Stiles peeks up from the hole at the smirking girl, "You know it would be a hell of a lot faster if you helped."

"You only bought two shovels Stilinski, whose fault is that?"

Stiles growls lowly holding up his middle finger at her as she blows a kiss

"What if he comes back?" Scott ignores the two looking around unnervingly.

"Then we get the hell out of here."

"What if he catches us?"

Stiles shrugs, "I have a plan for that."

"Which is?"

"You run one way. I run the other. Luna runs a totally opposite way of both of us. Whoever he catches first? Too bad."

"I hate that plan."

"Eh we would be fine. He likes Luna the most he would chase her first."

"Hey!"

They dig faster, harder. Muscles burning, Scott keeps throwing nervous glances to the driveway.

"Stop, stop, stop!"

Dropping the shovel, Stiles clambers down into the hole. He feels around and finds a dark fabric in the dirt. Both of them now digging with their hands they finally uncover a black bag, drawstring tied in tight knots. Stiles digs at the knot with his fingers.

Luna looks around somewhat scared, "Hurry."

"I'm trying. Did he have to tie the thing in nine hundred knots?"

Luna groans throwing her hands up in the air, "Ugh move I'll do it."

She sits on the edge of the hole and slowly lowers herself down. Stiles grabs her waist without thinking helping her stand steady. Luna looks at him confused with a small smile.

"Thanks..."

He nods ignoring the weird look Scott gives him. Luna bends down frantically trying to get the knot to come undone. And then finally it loosens. The black bag flutters open to reveal the body inside. Except it's not a dead girl. It's the body of a wolf. The three holler, jumping back.

"What the hell is that?"

Scott runs his hands through his hair, "It's a wolf."

"We can see that McCall. It's definitely not a girl."

Stiles nods agreeing with Luna, "I thought you said you smelled blood? As in human blood?"

"I told you something was different."

Scott pulls back the edge of the bag to get a better look. The remains of the wolf peer through, a tangle of legs and blood-crusted fur.

"This doesn't make sense."

Luna scoffs, "You think."

"We gotta' get out of here." Scott sighs.

Stiles nods, "Help me cover this up."

Stiles reaches for the shovel when he notices A purple flower in the ground. It sticks out of the dirt as if it had only recently been planted there.

"Stiles... What's wrong?" Luna asks looking at him in concern as he stares blankly ahead.

"Do you see that flower?"

"What about it?" Scott questions confused.

"I think it's Wolfsbane."

Luna looks at the flower, sniffing inconspicuously, "Yep it definitely is."

"How do you know that?" Stiles stares at her in awe.

"Uh the internet."

"Wait how do both of you know that?"

"Haven't you ever seen The Wolf Man? Lon Chaney Jr.? Claude Rains? The original classic werewolf movie?"

As Scott shakes his head Stiles frowns, "You are so unprepared for this."

Stiles jumps out the hole before holding his hand down to help Luna. Scott holds his hands together allowing her to step into his hand and lift herself up to grab Stiles' hand.

Once all three are out, Stiles kneels next to the flower, gently feeling around the stem. He pulls it up, revealing that the flower has sprouted out of what appears to be a very thin but strong twine interlaced from its stem and root.

"Don't..." Scott frowns watching Stiles give him a confused look, "I have this feeling it's not going to be a good idea."

"Yeah. Me too." Laney whispers.

Scott gives them a hopeful stare, "Then we're leaving?"

Scott rolls his eyes as both Stiles and Luna shout, "Hell no."

While Scott takes several cautious steps back, Stiles continues unearthing the purple-flowered rope. Soil falling around his shoes, he walks in circles around the grave. As Stiles continues, Luna steps back a couple of paces before noticing the Wolfsbane rope leads back to the grave in an almost perfect spiral. She bites her lip and tries to think about what this could mean. Finally, at about ten yards out, Stiles reaches the end of the rope. With a pile gathered into his arms, he turns to Scott and Luna who are staring back at the grave.

"Stiles..." Scott says in barely a whisper.

The rope slips out of Stiles's hands, falling at his feet as his eyes widen. The wolf is no longer a wolf.

It's the upper half of the girl.
