Episode 11 Part 2
☽
PICKING UP DEREK'S JACKET, Kate pulls out his wallet and begins to search the pockets.
"Come on, he killed your sister. Either you're not telling me because you want to kill him yourself..."
Derek weakly pulls his head up. Returned to normal, his face is pale, body dripping wet.
"Or for some twisted reason, you're protecting him."
In the wallet, Kate finds a license which shows a typical angry Derek glaring at the DMV camera. She holds it up to compare against the scowling Derek in front of her.
"Look at that sour face. I bet you used to get a lot of people coming up to you saying smile. Derek, why don't you smile more often? Don't you want to just punch those people in the throat?"
Derek glares down at Kate, "I can think of one person."
Kate smiles with her back to Derek, "Promise? Because if you're going to be that much fun, I'll let you go and have at it."
Derek rolls his eyes then freezes as Kate smirks holding up a picture he forgot was hidden away in his wallet.
"And what do we have here?"
"Don't..."
"What? She's cute... Luna Tate right?"
Derek internally curses at the mini Polaroid picture of him and Luna. Luna had made him take the picture when he was over at her house one night even though he didn't smile she said she loved it and wanted him to keep it to always have a piece of her with him.
Kate grins walking back and forth in-front of Derek as she stares at the picture, "I used to be friends with her Aunt. You do know Fallen and Emerson are hunters too? Did Luna tell you that? Gosh Derek you just can't stay away from them."
"You touch her... I'll kill you."
Kate pouts playfully, "Wow never seen you this protective over a girl since... well me."
"She's nothing like you."
"You sure..." Kate takes a step forward while smiling at a scowling Derek, "You seem to attract the same type of girls. Tell me Derek, what is she hiding?"
"Screw you... she has nothing to do with this. Leave her out of it."
Chuckling with a shrug, she picks up his phone scrolling through it.
"Nothing, nothing, nothing. I hate this detective crap. I want the Alpha or the Beta. Just give me one or the other."
"Are you going to torture me or talk me to death?"
"I don't want to torture you. I want to catch up. Remember all the fun we had together?"
"Like the time you burned my family alive?"
"I was thinking more of all the crazy hot sex we had. But the fire thing? That was pretty fun too."
Furious, Derek yanks against his restraints as Kate laughs, "God, I love how much you hate me."
Grabbing him by the belt, she pulls him toward her. Derek tries to keep away from her, his stomach flexing back.
"Remember how this felt?"
She yanks him forward again and casually let's her tongue slide up his abs to his sternum.
"Does she make you feel like I did?"
"Like I want to slam your head into a door violently? No actually."
Kate shrugs as she walks towards the door, "I mean it, though. I don't want to torture you." She glances back, "But he does."
Marcus, a very large man who would cause most people to cross the street if he approached, steps out of the shadows.
Showing no hint of emotion, Kate walks out. Behind her, Marcus cracks his knuckles in anticipation.
...
"So what's wrong?"
Luna glances over at Lydia then gazes back into the mirror.
"Why would you think something's wrong Lyds?"
"You just look like you've been crying."
Luna sighs gripping onto the sink looking down at her knuckles as they turn white. The truth is, she had been crying.
Well that was an understatement.
She had really been sobbing. She was frustrated and annoyed. She wanted all of this between Peter and the Argents to be over. Kate had taken Derek but Luna had no idea where. She missed her boyfriend. She was at the moment avoiding Stiles and Scott.
After she woke up in the animal clinic, Scott was sitting near her and immediately went to question her but she burst out into tears feeling the fear and worry that had come back when she left the Hale house. So he left her to gather herself and she disappeared. She hadn't seen him since then... neither of them.
"I'm fine Lyds..."
Lydia frowns before walking over to Luna placing her hand on top of hers, "I know you're not Luna. But just know I'm here for you. You're always there for me... you know it's okay for someone else to help you. You don't have to figure everything out by yourself. You don't have to be alone..."
Luna nods slowly, "I know..."
She wished she could tell Lydia. But that would put her in so much danger and she didn't want her best friend involved in this craziness that was now her life.
"Alright you know what, you're coming with me dress shopping!"
Luna frowns raising an eyebrow, "I'm not even going to the dance. Why would I need a dress?"
"Not for you silly. For me. It'll be a much needed distraction for whatever is wrong."
Sighing Luna nods then allows Lydia to grab her hand and guide her out the girls restroom. The two make their way through the crowded hallway to the front of the school. Lydia pulls Luna through the parking lot all the way to a blue car. As soon as they stop Luna groans throwing her head back. This had to be a joke.
"What is she doing here?"
Luna glares at Allison, "What am I doing here? What are you doing here? I'm Lydia's best friend... you know the one who didn't flirt with her boyfriend."
"Yeah well at least I didn't kiss my friends boyfriend in a classroom."
"Hey! I said I was sorry." Lydia glares lightly.
Luna scoffs. There was no way this girl would stand here and insult her best friend when she was upset with Luna.
"You two weren't together. You still aren't. There's no reason to be jealous and pissed off now. You broke up with him... remember?"
Allison glares and opens her mouth to retaliate until Lydia steps in between the two.
"Alright! That's enough! You both are my friends and we are all going to somewhat get along for the rest of the day so that I can find a sexy ass dress to wear to the dance. Do we understand?
Luna rolls her eyes crossing her arms over her chest, "Fine... I still don't like her."
Allison scoffs lightly as Luna bumps her shoulder then gets into the backseat of her car.
Lydia grins and sits in the passenger seat as Allison lets out a sigh getting into the drivers seat.
Silence fills the car as Allison drives to the mall. Biting her lip she can't stop herself from staring at Luna as the girl gazes out the window with a longing look. Allison couldn't help but feel bad. She had no idea what was going on between her and Derek but the fact that she knew where he was and that he was getting tortured made her guilty.
Shaking her head out of her negative thoughts, Allison taps the steering wheel before glancing back at Luna, "So you have a date?"
"Oh no." Luna replies without even glancing Allison's way.
"Yeah right like she would tell you. She won't even tell me who she's been seeing in secret. But I'm sure knowing Luna's taste he's a very handsome attractive guy. But anyways she's not going... lame I know."
Allison gapes at Lydia then turns back to Luna for a second, "You're not going? Why?"
Luna shrugs, "Not really my scene."
Parking in the mall parking lot, the three girls get out the car and hurry into the store. Shoppers rush the corridor of a mall as Allison follows Lydia and Luna into a Macy's Department Store entrance.
Allison starts thinking about everything wearing a frown on her face. Lydia glances at her and throws her arms up in the air, exasperated.
"First Luna now you? What's wrong?"
Allison shakes her head, "Nothing's wrong. I have a lot on my mind."
"You could smile at least. Ever hear the saying: Never frown. Someone could be falling in love with your smile."
Allison glares.
"Smile, Allison. I'm buying you a dress."
"I'll admit, as far as apologies go, that's more than I expected."
Lydia grins, "Excellent."
"But not as much as I'm going to ask."
"What? What's that supposed to mean?"
Luna tunes into their conversation feeling very interested in what was happening. She freezes smelling a familiar scent then smiles seeing the person nearby. Leaving the two girls she walks over to the perfume department and taps a boy's shoulder.
The boy jumps slightly before turning around smiling , "Luna!"
"Stilinski!"
Stiles grins holding up a perfume, "What do you think of this?"
Allison stops walking and turns to Lydia smiling, "It means you're going to cancel on whatever dumb, roided up jock you said yes to and go with someone else."
"Who?" Lydia asks alarmed.
"Him."
Allison points down the aisle to Stiles and Luna standing at a perfume counter. He sprays a bottle in his face and reacts with a violent sneeze as Luna bursts into laughter. A horror-struck Lydia turns to Allison.
"Don't frown, Lydia. Someone could be falling in love with your smile."
They turn to see Stiles waving. Then sneezing again violently.
...
The four teens get together and start walking down the dress aisle. Lydia places a dress on a stack held in Stiles's arms.
"You're going to try all of these on? Is this a 24-hour Macy's?"
He glances to Allison for help, but she's already at another section. Thumbing through the racks, she pulls a dress.
"Come on Luna I'll need your help."
"Oh great..." Luna mutters with a sarcastic smile as she follows Lydia and Stiles.
Allison picks up a dress holding it to her body as she gazes into the mirror.
"That's not your color."
Allison glances up, caught off guard by the handsome stranger peering over the racks.
"Sorry if that was intrusive. But considering your skin tone, I'd go lighter."
Allison frowns, "Because I'm pale?"
"Fair. You can't call skin like yours pale. Not skin that perfect."
Allison smiles but slowly becomes suspicious of the compliment, "Oh-kay."
"Trust me, I have a unique perspective on the subject."
As he approaches, something flickers in his eyes. Either a reflection of the store's lights. Or something stranger.
"Would you mind?"
He reaches for her hand. Before she can even move, he has his fingers around her palm, delicately drawing her hand up.
"See? Much better."
He presses a lighter fabric from the rack to her hand.
"You're not here alone, are you?"
He inches closer. Allison takes an instinctive step back.
"Friends looking for dresses too?"
Allison nods. He keeps coming toward her.
"High school dance?"
"Formal." Allison replies with barely a whisper.
For a brief second, Peter's eyes reflect the light, like an animal's eyes bouncing back moonlight in the dark. But then a voice over the PA system in the store comes on.
"Attention shoppers. To the owner of a blue Mazda, license plate..."
Allison blinks, snapping back to reality, "Did she say blue Mazda?"
"5-U-N-I-7-6-8. Your car is being towed."
"What? That's--that's my car."
Peter watches the suddenly frantic teenager race around the racks and go running for the exit. Blinking in momentary confusion, Peter allows himself a smile.
He looks around as he starts to whisper, "I have to say I continue to be impressed by your ingenuity, Scott."
Around a corner and down another aisle, Scott hides in the shadows, listening and then slumping back against the wall as the weight of Peter's next words bear down on him.
"Just remember... You can't be everywhere all of the time."
...
Luna sits with her legs to her chest as she watches a scary movie in her favorite sweat pants and crop top.
She had already seen Stiles leave to pick up Lydia and she couldn't be happier for him. However she honestly wished she went to the dance as well. But she couldn't go alone and honestly she didn't feel like partying when her boyfriend was missing.
BANG
Luna jumps slightly leaping off her bed after pausing the movie. Walking over to her window she looks outside and sees nothing but darkness. Sighing, she walks out her room and jogs down the stairs to the front door. Once she gets to the door, she takes a deep breath before yanking open the door.
Nothing.
Rolling her eyes she slaps her forehead, "Nice Luna. You're watching a scary movie and freak out over one little sound."
As Luna starts back up the stairs she can't help but notice the hairs on her arm start to stand up straight. A shiver runs up her spine making her freeze as she stands looking into her empty room.
Recently she figured out that those shivers and chills she got let her know that danger was near. She assumed that since she was learning more about her powers that new things would start to happen that hadn't happened to her before. This made her very wary of going into her own room.
Biting her lip, she looks at the remote in her hand then smirks. Before her eyes the remote turns into a knife. Nodding at herself, Luna takes a step inside her room looking around. She feels the door closing behind her and quickly raises the knife as she spins around.
A hand grips tightly onto hers as she does a stabbing motion towards the intruders face. Peter grins amused as he stares at the tip of the knife in between his eyes.
"I would've assumed you'd use something a little more scary."
"This will be scary once it's in your forehead."
Peter chuckles bending Luna's hand lightly making her squeal in pain seeing as she had already broken it and just got the cast off. Letting go of the knife Luna watches it fall to the ground. Peter lets her go before stepping back a few steps.
"Now, I don't want to break your hand again-"
"Again?"
Peter smirks, "You really think all that anger at the school was just because you were upset with Scott or little Allison?"
Luna gulps as she clenches her fists by her side, "What are you doing here? My Aunt will be here soon, so if you don't get out of here she's gonna skin your werewolf ass and wear your fur as a coat."
"Aw cute little threat but I know Fallen won't be back until after her late shift. You do know I posed as a doctor..."
"Crap..." Luna mutters, "Well Emerson-"
"Is with the Argents... You're all alone, but don't worry I'm not here to hurt you."
"I don't believe you... What do you want?"
"To know where Derek is being held."
Luna scoffs, "You really think I know!"
"You know something."
Crossing her arms over her chest Luna rolls her eyes, "I don't know anything. Even if I did want to help you which I don't... no offense but I don't trust you. But if I did know, I wouldn't be here sitting on my ass. I'd be out there saving him. I don't know what the hell Kate is doing to him. Maybe Allison knows but honestly that's doubtful seeing as she just learned about who her parents were. The only person smart enough to figure it out would be..."
Luna doesn't finish her sentence but her eyes peek over to Stiles dark room through her window. She hopes Peter didn't see the small gesture but as her eyes land back to the alpha, she only gazes at an empty spot in her room.
"Oh shit."
Uh oh Luna may have accidentally put her friends in danger at the end.
Who do you ship right now?
What do we think about Peter?
