New Hunk Vamp
3rd Person's POV
Laney dances slowly and gracefully by herself in the middle of the dance floor as the band plays 'Nobody' by Mitski. She doesn't even care to open her eyes to see all the interested stares of guys. She just sways to the music as she lip sings the song to herself.
And I don't want your pity
I just want somebody near me
Guess I'm a coward
I just want to feel alright
And I know no one will save me
I just need someone to kiss
Give me one good honest kiss
And I'll be alright
Her mind goes off to times with Xander. She tries her hardest not to think about him yet she can't help but still feel slight heartbreak. No she didn't still have feelings for him, but like the song said she wanted somebody near her. Before that was Xander, but after finding out his feelings for her wasn't as much as his feelings for Buffy... it hurt. She didn't let anyone know she was still hurt, because she didn't want anyone to feel bad for her. All her life she had been rejected and her friends were chosen over her. And every single time just like the last, it made her feel horrible about herself.
I've been big and small
And big and small
And big and small again
And still nobody wants me
Still nobody wants me
And I know no one will save me
I'm just asking for a kiss
Give me one good movie kiss
And I'll be alright
A wave of heat surges through her body as she continues to dance. Her eyes open to see a guy staring intensely at her from across the club. His blonde hair was such an opposite to his black dark and mysterious attire. He gave off interesting vibes and Laney definitely wanted to keep his eyes on her.
She bites her lip seductively and gives him a look. She watches him chuckle and lean back against a pillar nearby. He crosses his arms and licks his lips. As music gets higher and faster, Laney closes her eyes again and sways again with the song. The guys stare is so intense that Laney can literally feel his eyes on her body. His eyes drag from her face to her hips then back up. Laney turns her back to him and slowly runs her hands through her hair then up above her head.
Spike can't help but stand and stare at this intriguing human. Usually someone like this he would swipe right up and drink their blood but this one... he wanted to just watch her. It was like she was a siren when dancing. Instead of her voice being intriguing and catching every mans attention, it was her aura. Here she was distracting him from finding the slayer. All she did was dance and lose herself in the music.
He couldn't take his eyes off her, not even when their eyes connected. She gave him a sensual look and he fell for it. He had to chuckle at her confidence. It was like none other. Not even Dru could capture his attention in this way. He liked it.
The crowd grows as the song ends and a faster song is played. Spike sighs in disappointment as he loses sight of the girl. Not knowing why he cares but he wished that he would see her at least once more before he had to leave.
"You must be new around here. Haven't seen you before. And I definitely would've remembered someone like you."
Spike turns around to see the same girl he was watching now in front of him. She was short very short and brunette. She looked young but not too young. Spike's eyes slide down her entire figure.
She wore a light gray see through dress that had silver crescent moons and stars all over it. Underneath you could see a black lace bra and short spandex. Red earring dangled from her ears and knee high heeled boots covered her legs.
"Someone like me?"
Laney smiles lightly as she hears the guys accent. He sounded just like Giles and that was hot. Well not sounding like Giles but the accent itself.
"Dark and mysterious. Most guys in this town are bright and colorful."
"I see that. Quite the change of scenery. Very different than where I just moved from."
"Good or bad?"
"Good. A lot more people to grab a BITE with."
Laney chuckles to herself, "I don't know about a bite but definitely a drink. Speaking of a drink... you thirsty?"
Spike smirks, "Always."
"Follow me then."
Spike follows behind Laney as she saunters to the bar. He watches her hips sway from side to side. Laney glances over her shoulder to see the guys eyes on her backside. She smirks and turns back around.
The two get to the bar and they sit on the stools side by side.
"What do you want?" Laney smiles.
Spike raises an eyebrow, "You paying?"
"Something like that..."
"Surprise me."
Laney laughs and raises a hand to the bartender. Raising herself higher on her seat she is halfway on the counter. The bartenders face reddens as Laney whispered into his ear. She kisses his cheek and sits back in her seat. The bartender fixes two drinks and then puts them in front of the two and disappears.
Spike glances over at Laney in disbelief, "What was that?"
"Oh nothing I just told him how happy I would be if he made me a drink. I also might have said how he may be able to get a dance on the dance floor with me later on... maybe."
Spike smirks, "You little con artist."
Laney laughs again. She didn't know why she felt comfortable with this guy. Maybe because he was a total stranger and not someone she was used to. Not someone who was wrapped up in all the drama of Sunnydale. He was someone new and mysterious. She was intrigued.
"So new guy... what's your name?"
"Spike."
Laney furrows her eyebrows and gives him a look, "Nuh uh... that's super cool."
"That's what I say all the time."
"Whatever." Laney giggles and chugs half her drink.
Spikes eyes widen and his pants stir a little as he gets more and more surprised by this girl.
"And what would your name be love?"
Laney's head goes to the side with a look of confusion.
"Love?"
"Well I am British what did you expect?"
Laney smiles and notices how close they were to each other. The two meet eyes and the world behind them slowly disappears.
"Laney. I'm Laney."
"Laney? Beautiful name love."
Laney stares at Spikes face and tries to find any small flaws. But she can't. His face was perfect, his body was perfect, his accent was perfect. What could go wrong?
Laney opens her mouth to say something but someone screams her name. She whips around just in time to see Cordelia run straight for her. Cordy pulls her into a hug then glances at Spike.
"Oh new guy? Cute. So much better than Xander. Lane we have to dance to this song. Please."
Laney sighs and looks over at Spike who had been smirking at the two.
"Fine alright but just one dance Cordy. It was nice to meet you Spike. See you around?"
Spike nods watching as Laney is pulled away, "Thanks for the drink."
"Come on!"
Cordelia yanks Laney onto the dance floor. The two dance together but Laney's eyes are on Spike the whole time. Laney rolls her eyes and sticks her tongue out at him, then finally gives Cordelia her full attention allowing Spike a moment to gaze around the club and find just who he came here for.
"Time to get to work." He mumbles to himself as he downs the last bit of the drink.
Spike walks along the edge of the dance floor and studies Buffy intently. Xander and Buffy dance lively. Willow doesn't move much, but smiles widely, enjoying herself.
Spike goes over to a vampire at the bar, "Go get something to eat."
He comes back to some people near where Buffy, Willow and Xander are dancing and speaks loudly so that Buffy is sure to overhear.
"Where's the phone? I need to call the police. There's some big guy out there trying to bite somebody."
Buffy runs from the dance floor. Spike watches her go. In the alley outside, the vampire has found a young woman. She trembles with fear as he grabs her neck and moves in for the bite. Buffy grabs him by the shoulder and pulls him off of her. He somersaults and rolls up to his feet.
"Slayer!"
Buffy smiles, "Slayee!"
She does a roundhouse kick to his face. He only flinches a bit. He swings at her, but she sidesteps the blow. She swings back, and he grabs her arm, swings her around and throws her into a metal roll-up door. She hits it high and hard and falls to the ground, but quickly gets up again. He swings again and hits the metal door with his fist when she ducks the punch.
Xander and Willow arrive. Buffy blocks the vampire's punch and holds on to his arm. She looks behind her at the others.
"Get her out of here!"
She turns her attention to punching the vampire repeatedly in the face. Willow grabs the woman and pulls her away and out of danger.
"And a stake would be nice!"
Xander runs to find a stake. Spike looks on from the side. Xander goes though Buffy's purse. He pulls out a yo-yo and sets it aside. He pulls out a tampon and quickly drops it like a hot potato. He finds a stake, and rushes back out.
Buffy punches the vampire's face again and then his chest. He gets loose from her and lands a punch on her face. She goes spinning down to the ground and lies there, momentarily stunned. The vampire looms over her.
"I don't need to wait for St. Vigeous. You're mine."
He is about to bend down to get her until he feels a tap on his shoulder. He turns around and to see Laney standing behind him.
"Hi," She punches him in the face making him stumble, "I don't think so."
Laney roundhouse kicks him then helps Buffy up as he falls to the ground. Spike look in confusion at Laney. He had just been talking to this girl and he didn't get a single slayer vibe from her. Then again she didn't even know he was a vamp.
The vampire gets up and charges at Laney who turns around and kicks his back making him run into the fence.
"Hey man! Gimme a hand!"
Buffy looks over at Spike in the shadows. Xander finally runs back with the stake.
"Buffy!"
Laney catches turns to him since Buffy is distracted and he throws her the stake. She catches it out of the air, and in a smooth, swift motion plunges it home into the vampire's chest. He doesn't even have time to fall before he crumbles to ashes.
Spike comes out of the shadows slowly clapping his hands. Buffy looks at him with a confused expression on her face. Willow and Xander see him, too. Laney's mouth drops in shock as she watches Spike walk up to them.
"Nice work, love. You too slayer."
"Who are you?" Buffy frowns.
"You'll find out on Saturday."
"What happens on Saturday?"
"I kill you."
He winks at Laney who is still gobsmacked then turns away from the group. Buffy is speechless and just watches him leave.
Oh gosh... Laney thinks to herself, he's Sunnydale's new vamp... the new hunk vamp.
She gulps as she looks at her friends confused yet fearful expressions and decides that it's probably not best to tell them that she had been with Spike half the night.
The gang sits in the library all looking at each other in confusion trying to figure out what the heck happened last night and who the heck the new vampire was.
"He seemed to know exactly who I was." Buffy huffs.
"We don't even know his name..." Giles sighs as he takes his glasses off.
Everyone nods as the silence passes. Laney squirms in her chair uncomfortably and raises her hand up catching Giles eyes.
"Laney?"
"His name... that guy, the vamp... it's Spike."
All eyes are now wide and on her as she plays with the rings on her fingers.
"How do you know this exactly?" Buffy eyebrows furrow in confusion.
Laney laughs humorlessly to herself, "You see it's a very funny story. You guys may laugh... maybe not now but maybe in a few years actually. Maybe not... um well I talked to him at the Bronze."
Xander scoffs and looks at Laney with a blank face, "What were you thinking?! He's a vampire."
"A bad one at that." Willow says with a small frown appearing on her face.
Laney grunts in annoyance, "Oh please let's just all get out our pitchforks and riot. Not like one of us in this room hasn't already and still is making out with a vamp."
Buffy frowns and crosses her arms over her chest, "That's different. Angel isn't trying to kill me."
"Oh my gosh it's not like I'm into him. I just had a couple of drinks with him..."
All eyes widen and mouths drop making Laney slap her hand on her forehead.
"Oh my goodness it was before we knew he wanted to kill Buffy okay! Gosh tough crowd."
Giles puts his glasses back on his face and walks over to Laney. He pulls a chair out and sits beside her.
"None of us are upset with you-"
"Speak for yourself! I'm livid. I can't believe you would flirt with that guy. He gives off I want to murder you and laugh about it vibes but no you find that attractive-"
"I didn't say he was attractive Alex!!" Laney stands up and yells at Xander as he stands beside her glaring.
"You didn't have to. I know that look anywhere. What's wrong with you? He probably didn't even have to say a single word to make you fall at his knees. It's so easy for you to just throw yourself at everyone."
Laney's mouth drops in disbelief at why she's hearing. Xander has never been this upset with her and he's definitely never said anything this mean and degrading to her.
"Fuck you Xander."
Without another word Laney grabs her stuff and storms out the library. Willow gets out her chair and slaps Xander in the back of his head.
"Ow!"
"Xander what was that?! You know Laney. She's not like that. What is wrong with you?"
"Me? She's the one throwing herself at a bad vamp guy. She didn't even know who he was. He could've taken her or killed her and we wouldn't have even known where she was."
Giles frowns and listens to the hidden worry behind Xander's hurtful comment.
"Xander I know you care about Laney and you're always going to be worried about her but you can't keep tabs on her all the time. She is her own person and you two are only friends. Yes she was very lucky that Spike didn't know at the time that she was Buffy's friend and a potential slayer but she can also take care of herself."
Xander sighs and holds a hand to his face, "I totally messed things up with Laney again didn't I?"
"Better get ready to grovel at her knees lover boy." Buffy pats Xander's shoulder as she moves to the stairs.
"Fantastic I'm an idiot."
Willow smiles, "Nothing new."
