"All right, Mom. Where should you go?"
Steven took of the painting of his mother in hands and hummed, looking around to find a perfect place to find it; he then caught an idea as he floated himself on top of the Gems bedrooms and hang it up there and floated down.
His eyes brightened at the sight and a smile creeping on his face. "Yeah!" Steven cheered. He then stared back at the painting and hummed uncertainly. "... Hmm." he hummed, having second thoughts.
He took the painting in hands again and searched for another place; after trying leaning and hanging it on various places, he still seemed unsatisfied about them.
He then set the painting of his mother on his bed, beside you who is still sleeping peacefully; Steven sighed and gripped his hair in frustration.
You heard of his distress and slowly opened your eyes, you stirred on the bed to comfortably look at Steven.
Steven saw you finally awake and kissed your temple. "Sorry, I didn't mean to wake you up." Steven apologises.
You shook your head, rubbing your eyes tiredly and sat up with the blanket covered your lower body; you smiled at Steven.
"No, it's really fine. I have to wake up sooner or later. It's noon already." you told, looking outside of Steven's balcony to see the sun is on the middle of the horizon.
Steven chuckled. "Yeah, right. Sorry for making you stay up late to find Cat Steven. I know it's a foolish idea." Steven admitted, rubbing the back of his head.
You snorted. "No way! It's never a bad idea to find your cat. He might be alone and cold if we don't."
Steven crossed his arms, pouted. "It looks like you care about Cat Steven more than Steven himself."
You giggled. "I do get to admit that Cat Steven is adorable."
Steven gasped, offended. "You're saying that Cat Steven is more adorable than me?" Steven asked, dramatically set a hand on his chest.
You giggled and nodded, Steven rolled his eyes back dramatically and laid on the bed beside you, the painting landed on the floor.
You giggled at his classic and leaned on your palm as your elbow supported the weight of your head. "All I'm saying is that Cat Steven is adorable and you are very much handsome."
Steven uncovered his eyes away from his arm and smirked. "You really know how to use words against me." Steven told.
You just giggled and played with his hair, twirling it between your fingers softly which Steven was quickly relaxed to it.
"I want to kiss you." Steven whispered, staring at your face lovingly.
You puffed your cheeks and shook your head. "No can do. I haven't brush my teeth yet, and bath."
"I don't care."
"But I stink! I need to wash up!"
"You're beautiful no matter what!"
"Steven!" you giggled. "It's not about my looks, it's about my hygiene. And some because of my looks." you laughed.
Steven pouted. "But I needed my morning kisses!"
You giggled, standing up and left the bed, grabbed a few new clean clothes and turned back to Steven. "Unfortunately for you, Steven, it's noon, not morning anymore." you said, leaving the bed as fast as you can and entered the bathroom.
Steven sighed at the missing presence of you and let his arms spread on the bed, staring at the ceiling for a while before peeking beside his bed and looked at the frame with a picture of his mother in it.
Steven glared at the frame, growling as he picked the frame up and stared at it for a few seconds; he tried to hang it up in few various places but every time he did, it just seemed weird or uncomfortable to look at.
Eventually, the frame ended up in its original place.
Steven groaned in frustration as he set both of his palms on his hips and thing his head down, as on cue, Amethyst and Greg entered the house with smiles on their faces.
"Yo, Schtu-ball! Still looking for a place to hang that painting of your mom?" Greg asked.
Steven sighed, glancing at the portrait. "Yeah. After everything that's happened, I don't know if I still want her hanging over us, you know?" Steven confessed, eyes twitching.
Amethyst hummed. "I'm telling you, man, it's not the placement. It's the frame." Amethyst told.
Suddenly, the environment around Steven, Amethyst and Greg grew darker as if there was something big that only leaves them in shadows.
Greg looked around in confusion, hands dropping to his sides. "Is it me, or is it getting kinda ominous outside?" Greg asked, looking back at his son who only shrugged for an answer.
Together, Amethyst, Greg and Steven stepped outside of their home and jaw-dropping once they saw a huge pink spaceship covering their house with shadows; Steven tensed and quickly went to his private garden that was still in the process of growing, turned up the communicator, he instantly was greeted by Wy-Six who was as bright as ever.
"Ste-van! Greetings!" Wy-Six greeted happily as Jay-Ten joined the hologram and smiled at Steven sweetly.
Steven smiled at their presences. "Jay-Ten, Wy-Six, how'd you get your space station all the way here?" Steven asked, curiosity seems more interesting than ever.
Wy-Six chuckled at the question. "We took the Zoo ship and made it a cruise ship." Wy-Six empathised.
Slowly, Greg entered the conversation awkwardly with a nervous smile and tensed shoulders, his hand waved at the two familiar faces he had rejected due to the Choosening.
"Oh hey, Jay-Ten... Wy-Six... I haven't seen y'all since the Choosening." Greg awkwardly exclaimed.
Wy-Six glared at Greg deeply, a deep frown plastered on his lips. "You mean since you didn't choosen us?" Wy-Six barked as Jay-Ten left without a word and a frown on her lips. Steven, Greg and Amethyst watched the scene unfold. "Don't you have some sound discs to listen to in your wheeled conveyance?" Wy-Six snarled, glaring daggers at Greg.
Greg stepped backwards with both of his hands in the air, surrendering as he sweatdropped at the angry sight. "Y-Yes, I do..." he stutters and walked away, not wanting to anger Wy-Six more.
Wy-Six watched and glared at Greg as he does so until he disappeared from his sight; after Greg left, Wy-Six returned to his happy self and looked at the two-person in front of him.
"Now that he is gone, we'd love it if you came by for a visit." Wy-Six suggested.
Steven smiled. "Sure thing. I-Is it ok if Amethyst comes by to say hi to the Famethyst?" Steven asked.
"As long as she is not Ga-reg, she's welcome." Wy-Six told.

You - who are still in the bathroom - glared at the two shampoos in hands as you had switched the water off; there were two shampoos in your hands, Strawberry scent shampoo and Banana scent shampoo, you just couldn't decide.
You wanted to try something new but also you wanted to keep your strawberry scent since it was Steven's favourite, but you also wanted to try the banana scent.
Huffing, you smelt each of them and showed that both of them smelt nice.
"Should I use strawberry... or banana?" you asked to particularly no one.
On cue, you heard the door was opened twice, peeking through the curtain, you saw Pearl and Garnet looked uncomfortable and discomfort as Pearl kept on pacing in the bathroom.
"Pearl? Garnet? Something happened?" you asked, kind of wonder how they opened the locked bathroom door.
Pearl squeaked at your soft voice, sighing in relief after that she found out it was you. "Oh, it's you, (Y/N). You almost gave me a heart attack." Pearl told, setting a hand on her chest.
You frowned. "Sorry."
The bathroom door was opened once again, revealing Steven with a nervous face entered the bathroom, almost immediately, Pearl faced him.
"How are you guys doing?" Steven asked nervously, closing the door behind him.
"Steven, isn't this super weird?" Pearl asked, her face painted panicked.
Garnet set a hand on Pearl's shoulder and mumbled. "Pearl... Of course it's super weird!" Garnet agreed.
Steven sighed. "Come on, we can't be like this. They were bubbled just because they look like Mom. Now, they're finally free, and we're ditching them to whisper in the bathroom for the same reason?" Steven asked.
Garnet sighed as well. "I know it's wrong, but... I'm overwhelmed." Garnet told.
You who were behind the bathroom's curtain remained silence, glaring at the two shampoos in hand as you pouted on what to choose.
"They don't just look like her, they are like her! She made them. I thought I'd be more ready for this..." Pearl confessed, covering her mouth.
"Okay, fine, stay here. But I'm going back out there to make sure they have a good time." Steven said, a hand was on the doorknob almost instantly.
But before Steven could open the door, you halted his movements. "Steven! Wait!" you called.
Steven froze in his spot and quickly glance on the curtain, he then squeaked loudly. "(Y)-(Y/N)? You're still here?" Steven squeaked, covering both of his eyes while his cheeks flaming red blossom.
"Sorry that I took so long. I just wanted your opinion on what kind of shampoo should I use. Should I use the strawberry ones or the banana ones?" you asked.
Steven stood silent for a moment, cheeks burning again as he scratched his cheek a bit. "I-I liked the strawberry ones." he replied.
You smiled, a tint of blush could be found on your cheeks. "Thanks, Steven."
"You're welcome." Steven answered. "Now, gotta go back to the Quartz." Steven said, almost determined and quickly left the bathroom.
A click was heard from the door, signalling that Steven had got out from the bathroom; Steven sighed as he shut his eyes, he walked forward and quickly was bumped into a Quartz which made him opened his eyes instantly.
The excited Rose Quartz twirled Steven to the aide while giggling. "Hello, Steven!" she greeted.
Steven pulled his hand away as he looked at the Rose, chuckling nervously. "Sorry, you surprised me. But it- it's fine." Steven nervously spoke, turning around to only meet with another pair of eyes looking down on him.
Rose who looked exactly like his mother, stood in front of Steven, looking down on him; Steven looked at the painting behind her as she did the same, the shy Rose looked at her friends in a serious expression.
"Maybe, we should get back. We don't want to wear out our welcome." she said.
The chill Rose pouted. "But we're having so much fun." she whined.
"Do you not want us here?" the excited Rose asked, a soft frown was found on her lips.
Steven scoffed. "What? No! Y-you're totally welcome here. You- You should... stay over!" Steven said while gritting his teeth as if it was so painful on saying it.
The excited Rose beamed up. "For the night?" she asked excitedly.
Steven hummed, a weird expression painted on her face, arms spreading to the air. "Mmm...! Slumber party! We should have an Earth-style slumber party!" Steven suggested loudly.
"Cool." the chill Rose said. "What is slumber?" she asked lowly.
Steven laughed nervously, shoulders tensed while the excited Rose beamed up crazily. "This is so great! I'm dying! I'm dying! I am dead! I am dead Rose Quartz!"
Steven chuckles nervously, shoulders tensed further. "You guys can go upstairs and wait for me. I wanted to wait for the others."
The chill Rose smiled, stood up and made her way upstairs. "Cool. Let's go guys. Let's explore!" she cheered but her tone was still low.
The excited Rose beamed up further. "Yes! Let's!" she cheered before chasing after the other Rose.
Steven sighed, facing the other way in relief as he felt himself stop tensing, the Rose who looked like his mother stared at his back before climbed the stairs and walked after the other Roses.
As if on cue, Pearl and Garnet unlocked the bathroom and walked outside, they gave Steven relieved sighs when they saw the three Roses had gone from their sights.
"This is super weird. I'll be heading to my room. Good night, Steven." Pearl told, dizzily went to her room.
Garnet followed suit without saying a word and disappeared, you walked outside with your dirty clothes in hands as you glanced at Steven in a worried expression.
"Steven, you okay?" you asked.
Steven sighed, a hand massaging his forehead as he was feeling dizzy. "This... I don't think I can handle this. It's just... It looks like I have three mothers now and I don't know how to react to it!"
"Steven..." you cooed, a hand craving his arm. "They might have the looks of your mother but they aren't your mother. Your mother, Rose Quartz, the leader of thousand rebellions and also a mighty Diamond, the one who created you and these Gems. Don't you get it? You guys are siblings! You guys are related to each other through your mother." you sighed. "Don't see them as your mother, think them as your siblings. Like you and the Gems! And like you and me!"
Steven smiled a bit, but then frowned again. "But... I don't see you as my sister... I see you as more." Steven spoke.
You smiled wider. "Best friends, even better."
Steven chuckled, softly glaring at you as he snaked his arms around your waists and kissed your lips passionately. He then pulled away and set his forehead on yours. "As more, silly."
Your face grew hotter and eyes widened as your lips parted in realization. "O-Oh!" you stuttered.
Steven chuckled again, kissed you once more before pulling away. "It's okay. Take your time and consider it okay?"
The excited Rose climbed down a bit and peeked. "Steven! I think your box is broken!" she said.
Steven sighed and sweatdropped. "It's fun while it lasted." he mumbled which made you giggled. "Coming!" he said, kissing your forehead for the last time before pulling you upstairs with him.
You let him do so.
As Steven and you reached upstairs, was greeted with the eyes of the Roses', Steven gulped and tightened his grip. "Anyone wants to watch a movie?" he suggested.
Time Skip
"Wow, so that's a movie? Let's watch another!" the excited Rose said, leaned forward and started pushing buttons.
You and Steven who were on the bed watched as she does so, Steven sighed and mumbled lowly. "Take your pick."
You only leaned on Steven's shoulder and gave Steven a reassuring which he returned the same and a kiss on the forehead lovingly.
"How about this one?" she squeaked, pushing the tape into the play box.
The chill Rose leaned further on her palm, smirking as she looked at both hybrids. "This is like, so chill." she said.
Steven chuckles anxiously as he looked back towards the television, his grip tightening. "I know, right?" Steven nervously spoke.
Steven looked at the television as it started playing, it quickly showed his mother's message tape with his mother's face was so close with the lense's camera.
You gasped softly at the sight, never once you had seen that tape before; Steven squeaked in surprised and quickly climbed down from his bed and shut the television off, he nervously turned around and faced everyone, his face held cringiness.
"Time for bed!" Steven squeaked, you could hear his tone went higher than usual. Steven looked around and found the sleeping bags he hand took out from the store as he made it to them childishly. Steven room one of them and nervously grinned at the Roses. "Here, each one of you can take this and we'll sleep afterwards!" Steven suggested.
"Cool. What is sleep?" the chill Rose asked.
You smiled softly at the question. "It's something that we, humans do in our daily lives. It's like, regenerating the energies that we've used in our daily activities." you explained as you watched Steven handed out the sleeping bags to them and demonstrated how to use them.
"Woah. That's so neat." the chill Rose told.
Steven tucked in the excited Rose inside of the sleeping bag as she quickly sat up. "What did you do in your daily activities, (Y/N)?" she asked.
You hummed. "Well, mostly I documented what I will learn in Little Homeschool since I will be taking them next year. But mostly, I love to spend my time with Steven!"
"That's amazing! What's 'Little Homeschool'?"
"It's like a place for you to learn new stuff and graduate."
"Oh! What's 'graduate'?"
"It's like-"
"Let's go to sleep, shall we? It's been a very long day!" Steven interrupted.
The three Quartzes nodded and placed themselves on the floor, Steven switched off the lights and climbed on the bed, quickly snuggling with you as you become the little spoon; Steven tightened his grips around your body, forcing your warmth to be connected to his.
"So, how do you sleep?" the excited Rose asked, getting comfortable on the cold ground.
Steven sighed through his nose while shutting his eyes further. "You just lay down, close your eyes, and don't say anything." Steven instructed.
Everything went silent for a moment before the excited Rose spoke again. "It's a shame we're leaving tomorrow." she whined.
Steven tightened his hug further and force his face to deepen on the crook of your neck. "Yeah, I wish you could just... stay here forever...!" Steven exclaimed through your hair.
The excited Rose quickly sat up and looked at the two hybrids snuggled. "Do you mean it?" she asked excitedly.
The chill Rose followed suit, smirking wider. "Of course, he means it. Why would he say it if he didn't mean it?" she said?
"Then yes! The answer is yes! We would love to live with you!"
Steven's eyes quickly shut open as he quickly sat up on the bed, he grabbed a pillow and hugged it tightly and nervously stutters. "Aah! I mean, you c-c-c-could, but then, uhh... L-Lion might get mad...? He can be very territorial and, uh-"
The shy Rose interrupted with a soft glare on her face. "Can't you guys take a hint? He doesn't want us to be here! He doesn't like us." she told.
You gasped as you shook rapidly as disagree.
"What?"
"There's no way that's true, right, Steven-" the excited Rose gasped as she saw Steven's reaction - Steven gritted his blanket tightly as he forced himself to not cringe. "Your face!" she said.
Steven chewing his blanket in anxiety. "It's not that I don't like you. It's- It's j-just..." he trailed off.
The excited Rose frowned as her eyebrows saddened. "Wow, he really does hate us." she said, you could hear the heart break through her voice.
The shy Rose got out from her sleeping bag and quickly walked to the balcony. "I'm going back to the ship. Sorry for bothering you, Steven." she said before disappearing.
The chill Rose followed suit, shrugging her shoulders in a disappointment manner. "Man, this is such a bummer." she said before following the shy Rose.
The excited Rose sniffed as she had her tears unshed, she stood up, the sleeping bag still covering her head to toe. "Never meet your heroes." she sobbed and hopped along with the other two Quartzes.
"Guys! Wait!" you called, eyebrows furrowed at the sad sight of them leaving.
Steven grabbed your arm before you could leave, sighing in disappointment. "I'll handle this, love. You just sit here till I get back, 'kay?" he said, kissing your temple before climbing down his bed and chased after his non-related siblings.
You smiled and nodded to no one, leaning your back on the bed, you sighed as you patiently waited for Steven's arrival.
Meanwhile, the other two Roses were waiting for the excited Rose to take off her sleeping bag but she said it wouldn't budge.
"Wait!" Steven panted. "Please, please don't leave like this! I- I'm really sorry. It's not like I don't like you or don't want you here." Steven began. "It's just that..." Steven groaned, cupping his face in his palms and grunts. "...you look so much like her; like my Mom." he confessed, looking at the three similar faces. He gulped nervously. "I thought I was ready to move on and not have her hanging over me anymore, but I can barely be in a room with you because I still feel all twisted up about her. I've been pretending that I'm fine because it's not your fault, but... I'm not fine..." Steven confessed, shoulders slumped as he did.
The shy Rose sighed sadly, a frown could be found on her lips. "We've been pretending, too." she confessed.
Steven looked at the three Roses with a confused expression. "Huh?"
"To be fine." the shy Rose continued, brushing her hand on her arm nervously.
The excited Rose quickly denied. "We're not pretending! We're having so much fun!" she said.
The chill Rose sighed. "Come on, let's give it a rest." she told.
The excited Rose slumped her shoulders and sighed sadly. "Fine..." she sighed again.
The shy Rose looked at Steven, her eyes saddened at the thought. "Your mom created us, too, and got us all bubbled, just for being Rose Quartzes." she told.
"But, you know, it's cool. It's whatever." the excited Rose shrugged.
"It's not whatever!" the shy Rose quickly denied. She looked back at Steven and sighed. "I don't expect you to understand. I swore I wouldn't talk about this." she confessed.
Steven beamed up. "But I do understand. Ah, man... If anyone can understand how you feel, it's me." Steven pointed to himself. "I've been thinking about you guys like my mom times three, but we're really more like siblings." Steven said, quoting you which made his smile wider.
"Siblings? What's that?" the excited Rose asked excitedly, her eyes were stars?
Steven chuckled and made way to her, he set his fingers on the zipper while looking at her with the same soft smile. "Well, Mom created all of us, and we've all been living in her shadow." Steven began, unzipping the sleeping bag and freed the excited Rose. "We'll always be related to her, but that means, we'll always be related to each other." he explained.
The excited Rose spread her arms in the sky, smiling widely. "That's pretty awesome!" she cheered.
"I'm so glad we're related." the chill Rose said.
"Yeah! Siblings forever!" the excited Rose cheered again, hugged Steven's side and giggled.
The excited Rose let go of him as Steven parted his lips to ask. "So, wait. Do you all still want to live here?" Steven asked.
Almost immediately the excited Rose replied. "Oh gosh, no! I don't know why I said that." she admitted and scratched the back of her head.
She quickly made way to the other two Quartzes and stepped onto the warp pad, smiling sadly.
Steven chuckled. "Well, feel free to visit if you want. N-No pressure." he reassured.
"Thanks, Steven." the shy Rose answered, both of her eyes closed as a very soft smile was given.
"Later, Rose Quartz." Steven bid and waved.
The three Roses waved back at Steven and teleported themselves away and were quickly replaced with Amethyst who held two drinks in both palms and a sunglasses covering her eyes.
"Famethyst for life! What'd I miss?" Amethyst asked.
Steven chuckled. "Nothing much, really. The Quartzes just went back home."
"Ohh. Okay, then. I'm going to bed, see ya!" Amethyst said and quickly disappeared.
Steven sighed, looking around his garden in the process as a sudden idea was formed on his head; he rushes to his bedroom and was quickly greeted with you bobbing your head sleepily, Steven sighed through his nose and climbed on the bed to kiss your temple which woke you up a bit.
You hummed and smiled. "Steven? How's the Quartzes?" you asked tiredly.
Steven chuckled. "Sorry for keeping you up late. Again. I promise I'll be quick! So please, stay up just a bit longer!"
You nodded and agreed, smiled softly at Steven who rushed towards the painting of his mother and jumped inside of Lion's mane and returned after a moment.
Steven instantly climbed on the bed tiredly and hugged you from behind, snuggles as he kissed the back of your neck before setting his cheek on the crook of your neck.
You smiled in the hug and quickly fell into a slumber, after a moment after, Steven fell asleep along with you while he breathed in the scent of strawberry that he loved.
Steven didn't feel suffocated anymore as he knew his mother was now stashed away inside Lion's mane and no longer hanged over anyone's heads, just like what he wanted.
And he thanked you for that.
Not much of your POV. Sorreh.
