S3, EP 15: Truth or Dare
By the time Shoto came back, you were just halfway through the dare. Mina dared you to drink water and hold it in until the end of the game. She said the game ends when curfew hits. Which was only in about forty five minutes.
"Oh! Todoroki come join us!" Denki exclaimed.
"No thank you." Then he left. Denki turned to you and smirked, then turned to face Bakugo who was cooking for his dare.
Bakugo mumbled angrily, whatever he was making smelled really sweet. But most likely only for him, no one specified who it was for.
"Truth or dare Bakubro?!"
"Truth, and don't ask me no stupid questions dunce face! I'll blow your—"
"Would you ever let someone do your hair?!"
"No! My hair looks fine just the way it is!"
And so forth, you've never felt more at home in a place full of people. Bakugo ended up giving you the dessert.
"Eat it! I don't care about your dare!" You smiled and swallowed your super warm water. (I imagine the dessert is strawberry pancakes with whipped cream and syrup, the syrups in the shape of a smiley face. But imagine what you want).
Izuku wondered if this was him 'being nice'. Another cool dare was that you got to do his hair. Well, originally Mina was supposed to. But he wasn't going to so Kirishima changed it to you. The 'problem' was, people started noticing how he had warmed up to you.
When you first came to U.A he didn't like you one bit, up until he told you how he felt. You never had a clue, you probably wouldn't have known.
You tried a ponytail but his hair was too short and he got mad when you tried to wet it. So you put just his bangs in a pony tail, he had a bit of a big forehead—maybe that's why he has them.
You showed him through a mirror, his expression didn't change but a very small smile crept up his face. You saw it, Izuku saw it, Lida saw it too.
Then, someone just had to make a comment. "You two act more like a couple than Midoriya does with Y/n." You wanted to roundhouse kick Kirishima. No one said anything and Izuku let out a small sigh.
"We-we're just f-friends, r-right Bakugo?" Those words shattered his heart. Again. His very small smile turned into a frown as you looked down at him.
"Yeah, whatever."
Friends who makeup without saying anything.

Shoto sat in his room. Wondering how a small ring could mean so much. While he glued the pieces back together. Yep, he'd be here a while. The box was open in front of him, just so he could look at it.
It was like waiting for the right moment to propose to someone, except he wasn't proposing, and she wasn't his girlfriend, they were just friends. But he thought about how Midoriya would feel. And when he did, it only made him come up with reasons why it was wrong.
But he didn't think about how he meant it, maybe he felt that way because he meant it another way other than friendship—oh god did he like her? No, definitely not.
"This is ridiculous..." he mumbled as he wiped glue off his hands onto a paper towel. At least he was prepared for the messy.
He needed his mind on other things, he kept going to places he didn't want to be.
Someone knocked on the door. "Come in." And the door opened. Shoto didn't see who it was, as he focused intensely on fixing the earring. But he recognized their voice. "Th-the games over, what's th-that?" Y/n said. She smelled the glue in the air as she slightly closed the door.
"Um," he closed the small box and moved it to the side out of her view. "I found your earring, but it found it broke and I'm trying to fix it," did you need something?"
"Y-you found my ear-earring?" He nodded as she sat down next to him. She was amazing at how much progress he made with those tiny pieces. Something hit Shoto in the head.
"Yeah...I also found a note inside," he dug in his pockets and handed her the tiny note. "It...seemed to mean a lot to you so I didn't read it." It did mean a lot to her, it was her mother's, but she wasn't going to admit that.
"Wow..." she mumbled as she studied the note. Such small, neat and weird handwriting. It looked as if it was a printed font. '11:35 am, 12-5-05, Hostage hospital.' (Lowkey forgot when I said she was born...)
"Th-thats my b-birthday..." She mumbled. "Well! Th-thanks f-for th-that!" She stuffed the note in her pocket. "H-how long have y-you been working?" She leaned closer to him. Outside, he wasn't bothered. But of course the inside was a different story. He felt his face get hot and her breath, strawberries.
He tried not to sound annoyed, he wasn't, he was frustrated. "Uh, d-did you need something?" He leaned back and slid his hand down his face. The smell of the glue was burning his nose and eyes.
"I-I came t-to ch-check on y-you, uh, y-you seemed kind of s-sad earlier." Shoto paused. "You...came to check on...me?"
His face was getting hot again. "Yeah...are y-you okay?" His eyes flickered to her, then back at the earring. He's never felt like this, his stomach was in knots and his hands became unsteady.
"Y-yeah, I'm fine." She didn't feel okay with his answer, he looked nervous. She's never seen him like that. She placed a hand on his shoulder and he seemed to tense up like never before. "Are you s-sure, I'm worried about y-you, Sho."
'Sho? Did she just call me Sho?' He stopped completely. She's doing something to him that he doesn't like, like playing chess but you can't tell what your opponent is going to do next—unpredictability. Sho doesn't like that.
He stood up and cleared his throat. "Excuse me," and he hurried out his own room.
'Did I do something?' Y/n thought as she eyed the blue velvet box.
Excuse me while I take a small break.
