π–πˆπ“π‡ 𝐀 π†π‘πˆπ on her face, Kara grabbed her phone and did her routine social media checks before she went onto Snapchat.

Ignoring the other notifications, she opened the picture that Amelia had sent her: her feet clad in mismatched socks.

Kara looked around the desk she sat at, her eyes narrowed as she looked for any props to include in the photo she'd send back to maintain their streak.

After a moment, she grabbed a protractor from her pencil case, and snapped a shot of her kissing it before captioning it: 'I support farming, I guess you could say I'm pro-tractor.'

As soon as she had sent it, her phone began to buzz from a phone call, and her mother's contact popped up (it was a picture of her with a cat filter).

Kara clicked to accept and raised her phone to her ear as she greeted, "Hey, Mom, what's up?"

"Kara, are you busy?"

Helen's urgent tone worried her, and Kara quickly replied, "No, why?"

"Come to my office."

After giving a quick "Okay," Kara hung up and teleported into her office, where Helen was already on her feet, pacing around the room.

Her head snapped up as soon as Kara appeared, and she stepped towards her. "Kara, honey, I, um . . . You know those Sokovia Accords that the Avengers have been arguing about?"

Kara wrinkled her nose, the taste in her mouth growing bitter as she thought about it. "Yeah."

"Well . . . So . . ." Helen licked her lips, clearly trying to find the right words to use. "There's a fight that's pretty much guaranteed to happen soon, and . . . Tony's side acquired Spider-Man."

"Okay," Kara said slowly, her eyebrows furrowing. "That's cool, I guess. But why am I . . . ?"

"Kara, my darling, sweetheart, amazing, gifted, gorgeous, wonderful, sweet, sweet child . . ." Helen mumbled as she gently placed her hands on Kara's shoulders.

"Oh, God" β€”Kara's eyes widened, and her heartbeat quickenedβ€” "did someone die?"

"No, no," Helen reassured her with a small smile. "It's just . . . Spider-Man . . . is Peter."

Kara squinted her eyes in confusion. "What? Peter is Quickβ€”wait." Her eyes widened as she realized what Helen meant, and she breathed out, "No."

"Yes," Helen sighed, reassuringly caressing her daughter's arms. "I went over to Tony's computer to grab some files for my research, and I came across a folder named 'Peter Parker.' Naturally, I wanted to see why Tony had info on him, and, well . . ."

"No." Kara swallowed, her eyes moistening as she shook her head. She refused to believe it. "No, Mom, it has to be wrong or something. Maybe it's a different Peter Parker."

As much as she wanted to deny it, for Helen to nod and shout 'April Fools!' (even though it was nearly July), everything was beginning to make sense: why Spiderman's voice had sounded so familiar; why Peter's reflexes had suddenly become amazing; why his physique had become so fit; why he was busy all the time . . .

Helen gave her a small smile as she leaned forward and kissed her forehead. She sighed, and Kara dreaded whatever her mother was going to say next.Β

"Kara . . . Peter's going to fight the others in about ten minutes."

Kara felt her entire body fill with panic as she shook her head profusely. There was a lot of information to process. Not only was her boyfriend Spider-Man, but he was about to go and fight half of the Avengersβ€”half of her family.

Unconsciously, her finger raised to her Bond Touch bracelet and immediately spammed the letters 'A' and 'C.'

A split second later, Amelia and Maximoff arrived.

"What's going on?" Amelia asked urgently as she rushed towards them, Maximoff instead choosing to rush towards the bowl of M&Ms on Helen's desk. "Are you okay?"

"A load of bullshit, that's what!" Kara exclaimed, causing Helen, who was taking a seat at her desk, to shoot a glare at her.

"Kara!" she chided.

"A load of bullcrap, that's what!" Kara repeated herself, though she kept the same amount of energy in her words.

Maximoff's eyebrows knit together tightly. "Like, bullcrap that you didn't get all of the extra bonus marks on a test, or . . ."

Kara scoffed as she folded her arms. "Bullcrap that my boyfriend is apparently Spider-Man and that he's going with Uncle Tony to fight half of the fuckiβ€”freakin' Avengers!"

Amelia's jaw dropped, and she shared an incredulous look with Maximoff before questioning, "Your boyfriend as in . . . Peter Parker is Spider-Man?"

"Peter Parker," Maximoff stated, his eyes wide as he stared at Kara.

"Your Peter Parker," Amelia added.

"Like . . ." Maximoff shifted his weight from one foot to another before repeating, "Your Peter Parker, orβ€”"

"Yes, my Peter Parker!" Kara cut him off exasperatedly. "Are you aware of any other Peter Parkers?!"

Amelia threw her hands in the air. "Well, I don't know, Kara!"

"It just doesn't seem like your Peter Parker would be so . . ." Maximoff gave a small punch and lightly kicked Helen's desk. "Pow pow, kick kick."

Amelia's eyebrows furrowed for a moment before she shook her head. "And where is he going?"

"An airport in Germany," Helen answered with a sigh as she leaned back in her chair. "Leipzig/Halle Airport."

Peter popped a few more M&Ms into his mouth before asking, "Why?"

"Because he's stupid," muttered Kara as she pouted.

"Well," Helen replied with a frown, "the government has asked the Avengers to sign a deal under their direction as a sort of surveillance to control their actions so that there won't be as much property damage and such. Tony, Nat, Vision, and Rhodey all signed it. And there's more . . . The King of Wakanda, a country in Africa, was at a signing of the Accords of Sokovia which those that signed the document went to, and there was a bomb set off supposedly by Bucky Barnes. Steve found Bucky in Bucharest, and word got out that they were going to the airport in Germany, where they're going to try stealing a plane to go into hiding. Your father is heading there now to stop him."

"Yeah, so, what I said," Kara added with a small shrug. "Stupid."

Amelia took a moment to process all this information before agitatedly asking, "Did Bucky set off the bomb?"

"No," Helen reassured her, "he was framed."

"Oh," Maximoff breathed out with a nod. "Good."

"FRIDAY?" Amelia called out as she put her hands on her hips, her chin lifting slightly. "How long until my dad gets to the airport?"

"Tony Stark will be arriving at the Leipzig/Halle Airport in t-minus nine minutes, thirty-six seconds."

"Oh." Maximoff nodded as he threw another M&M into his mouth. "Good."

Kara sighed. There was hardly any time to get ready, much less come up with a solid plan.

"We've gotta go there and fight with Uncle Steve," Kara pointed out. "Uncle Tony's a bitch, we have to beat him up."

"Whaβ€”no," Helen immediately refused as she stood up, putting her hands on her desk and shaking her head so furiously that a few strands of hair fell out of her bun. "There's no way in hell I'm letting my daughter and my basically other children go to Germany to fight against adults."

Amelia grinned. "Mama Cho, we've already fought an army of aliens."

"And robots," Maximoff continued.

"And a psychotic god-demon."

"And," he added as he gestured towards Kara, "we've had to deal with her our entire lives."

"Unnecessary," Kara muttered.

Amelia sent Helen a reassuring smile. "I think we can handle our crazy, stupid-ass family."

Helen heaved a deep sigh as she gazed down at her desk, her lips pressing together into a thin line. After a moment, she looked back up at them. "There's not much I can do to keep you two here, you're adults and I'm sure you can take care of yourselves. However," she continued as she walked over to Kara and put her hands on her shoulders once more, "Kara, I'm not letting you go."

"Whaβ€”no! I'm going!" Kara protested, pushing off her mother's hands. She huffed and walked over to the window, her mother trailing a step behind.

"You are fifteen!" Helen insisted as she walked to her side, putting her hands on her hips.

"Peter's fourteen! And Uncle Tony's letting him go!" Kara pointed out earnestly.

"And Tony is a lunatic!" Helen rebutted angrily. "You've only had your powers for half a year, and now you want to fight half the Avengers?!"

Kara gave her a sheepish smile and shrug. ". . . Yes?"

"No!"

"Okay, okay, how about this: If you let me go, I" β€”Kara paused for a moment as she tried to think of a sweet dealβ€” "won't eat vegetables for a whole month."

Helen's face scrunched up. "That is the opposite of what I want."

"Mom, please. I need to kick Peter's ass," Kara pleaded. "And Uncle Tony's ass, too."

Helen sighed, pressing her fingers against her temples as she shut her eyes. As much as Kara hated troubling her motherβ€”which she did a lotβ€”this was a matter whose importance lay far beyond their relationship.Β

"Please, Mom," she said softly, grabbing her hand. "I'll come back in perfect shape, I promise."

Helen groaned. "Only because I know they won't hurt you too much. Don't expect this kind of leniency from now on."

"I love you too, Mom." Kara grinned, quickly hugging her and kissing her cheek.

She looked around the office, only to see that she and her mother were the only two occupying the room.

Figuring that Amelia and Maximoff had dashed over to the Mansion to change into their suits, Kara decided to do the same and teleported back to her room.

She grabbed her suit from the back of her closet and swiftly changed into it before grabbing her face mask and planting her earpiece in her ear.

She teleported back to the office to see Amelia and Maximoff sprint in, and the group regathered.

"Please bring her back in one piece," Helen sighed as she embraced Amelia.

"We'll try our best," Amelia promised with a small nod.

Helen walked over to Kara and wrapped her arms around her tightly, planting a kiss on the top of her head.

"Be safe," she whispered, to which Kara gave a nod and smile.

After giving a wave and murmur of goodbye to Helen, the three of them were suddenly at the airport, standing next to a large white building.

Amelia created a set of stairs with her shield, which brought them to the roof of the building. They all got onto their stomachs in order to be unnoticed as they made their way to the other side, now able to see Steve in the middle of the airport, talking to Tony.

"What's the plan?" Maximoff asked.

"Well, I say we wait it out to see if they do actually end up killing each other," Amelia responded, watching the two of them.

The unmistakable red and blue suit that could only belong to Peter swooped in and took Steve's shield, trapping his hands with webs.

Although, this suit was quite different from the normal homemade suit. This one kept the same red and blue theme, but had a black webbing design, along with having a spider emblem in the center of his chest. Luckily, there were no goggles on this suit, instead having a black-outlined white lens that substituted his eyes.

Tony must have made this suit for Peterβ€”perhaps as a reward for agreeing to participate in this.

"I'm gonna kill this kid," Kara mumbled to herself, her hands beginning to unconsciously clench into tight fists.

"And whose side are we on?" Maximoff asked as the Avengers began talking again.

"I don't know about you guys, but right now I'm really leaning toward Steve's side," Kara answered.

"Well," Amelia sighed, "I'm not so sure that I'm picking sides, but from what I heard it sounds like my dad has made some pretty stupid decisions and blames Bucky for a lot of them, which makes no sense. I'm gonna say I'll just kind of . . . help Uncle Steve do what he needs to do, and make sure no one dies."

Suddenly, Steve raised his arms, and one of Clint's arrows broke through the webs, freeing him.

Ant-Man, who seemed to have been hidden in his tiny form on the shield, enlarged himself into his normal-sized form. He took Steve's shield back from Peter and gave it back to its rightful owner.

Just then, the two sides started to sprint straight toward each other, beginning to engage in combat.

Not caring about anyone else, Kara watched as Peter entered one of the buildings across from them, following Sam and Bucky.

After a while, Vision appeared, creating a line with the Stone implanted in his forehead, separating the two sides.

"We've gotta get Uncle Steve and Bucky to that plane," Amelia instructed as she pointed towards the plane that was meant for their getaway.

"Okay. I can do that easy peasy," Maximoff agreed as he shrugged, to which Amelia shook her head.

"That's the thing. I think we have to just be on the defence, let them get as close as possible and then step in if we have to."

"So what are you suggesting?" Kara asked, her eyes still on Peter, who was back on Tony's side.

"Honestly, I think we should just try to make sure that no one gets too hurt. Maybe we should distract everyone on my dad's side and, hopefully, our uncles can slip through." Amelia took two earpieces out of her pocket, handing one to Maximoff before Kara asked Hermione to link hers with theirs. "I'm still not entirely sure what we're gonna do, but I'm sure our questions will be answered soon enough."

She got up and created a tall ramp with her force fields. Maximoff used his speed to bring them to stand on the top, stopping a good sixty feet in the air as they stood above the line that Vision had created.

As the Avengers began to run towards each other, Amelia dropped the rectangular shield that they were standing on, and they flew towards the ground, following the shield as it fell to separate the sides.

Amelia somehow cushioned their fall, and, luckily, the ground didn't hurt them upon impact. They landed in a crouching pose and got up slowly, their hardened eyes set on Tony's team.

Peter's POV

Peter stared at the three who had just landed in front of them, his eyes widened in wonder.

There was Amelia, Peter Maximoff, and the girl he had crossed paths with a couple of times while on patrol: Psionic.

Peter's eyebrows furrowed; he didn't know Psionic knew the Avengers. He also didn't know why she was here, but he was sure he'd figure it out in a moment.

Amelia looked between Tony and Steve, fury present on her face as she shouted, "And just what the fuck is going on here?"

Tony seemed dumbfounded, but he quickly found his voice as he uttered, "Whaβ€”Amelia, how did youβ€”"

"Did you really think you were going to be able to keep something like this from me?" she questioned, her arms spreading to the sides of her.

"Actually, yeah! I didβ€”"

An unnerving feeling came over Peter; he could feel someone watching him.

His gaze shifted from the arguing father and daughter to Psionic, who stood on the left of Amelia. Her dark eyes were narrowed, and they burned straight into Peter with a hatred he couldn't understand.

Was she mad at him? Why? She didn't even know who he was, how could she be mad at him? Did Spider-Man do something wrong when they had met? He didn't think so. No, definitely not.

His eyebrows furrowed, although his mask hid his baffled expression.

The sound of his name brought his attention back to the fight that was going on. "So you can bring a fourteen-year-old kid you don't even knowβ€”hi, Parkerβ€”but you can't tell your own goddamn daughter?" she shouted, gesturing over to him.

Peter's eyes widened. How did she know? Maybe she wasn't talking to him. But there weren't any other fourteen-year-olds there . . . And she also called him by his name . . . Either way, it didn't seem that Amelia lingered on his identity as Tony retaliated.

Peter's eyes moved back towards Psionic, unable to stay off of her for too long. Her eyes were still focused on him, and he was more than bothered to say the least. Had he done something to her that he was unaware of?

He leaned towards Black Widow, his eyes still fixated on the girl. "Excuse me, Ms. Widow . . . Why is she staring at me like that?"

Black Widow glanced over to the yelling girl that stood in front of Tony and questioned, "Who? Amelia?"

"No." Peter shook his head. "Psionic."

Black Widow's eyes then trailed over to the one he was speaking of and it took her a moment to process. She glanced between Psionic and him, and then let out a laugh. "You don'tβ€”you don't know who she is?"

Peter's eyebrows knit tightly together. "No."

"Oh, boy," she sighed, an amused glint in her light eyes. "You're dead, Parker. Real dead."

"What?" His eyes widened as he turned towards her. "Why? Who is she?"

She only laughed in response before turning back to the conversation just as it came to its end.

"I can't do that Amelia." Tony frowned as Amelia did the same, but neither of them backed down from their position.

She gestured for Psionic to go by the others on Steve's side, which she quickly heeded, going into the embrace of Wanda.

Peter shook his head. He hadn't the slightest clue as to who that really was.

The other side began to walk towards them, and Black Widow sighed, "This is gonna end well."

Kara's POV

Kara steadied her breathing as she walked towards the other side, feeling her fingertips tingle with energy.

The other side began to stride towards them as well, determination evident on both of the sides' faces (or at least, what you could see of their faces under their masks), their paces picking up with each passing moment.

She gazed over the options she had: Nat (hell no), Black Panther (no), Vision (no), Rhodey (no), Peter (later), and Tony (yes).

Seeing Steve heading towards Tony, Kara immediately set off in a sprint to follow him.

With the help of his blasters, Tony flew into the air, soaring down towards Steve as he tried to punch him.

Steve blocked his punch with his shield, and returned a punch to Tony, while Kara shot blasts of bright blue energy toward his direction.

"You shouldn't be here, Kara," Tony called out as he continued to fight Steve while avoiding her blasts simultaneously.

Steve blocked Tony's incoming knee with his shield, and quickly spun around and slammed Tony backwards with it.

Taking his moment of weakness to her advantage, Kara sent an energy missile his way. The small construct stuck to Tony's shoulder, and, a split second later, it exploded, causing him to stumble backwards.

He then pushed his hands in front of him, using his blasters to fly backwards and towards the side as he tried to escape her sight.

As Kara spun on her heel to search for him, she watched as Amelia threw Black Panther off of Bucky, sending him soaring through the air.

She then turned in a different direction to see Peter sling a web onto Steve's shieldless arm and leg, pulling him down and dragging Steve towards him.

Deciding that Steve was in greater need of help than Tony was in need of an ass-beating, Kara rolled her shoulders back and sprinted in their direction.

As she approached, she could see Peter slide on the road towards Steve before kicking him, causing him to fly back and hit the back of a truck. The shield dropped from Steve's arm and clattered onto the ground, bouncing a few feet away from him before falling on its face.

Steve looked towards it and jumped to his feet, but just before he could grab it, Peter slung a web onto either hand and began to tug the webs backward.

Now only a couple meters away from them, Kara pushed her hands out in front of her and sent a scattershot towards the webs. The blast of cyan separated into multiple smaller fragments mid-air and sliced through the webs as they passed, freeing Steve.

Steve quickly brushed the webs off of his hands before grabbing his shield. He looked up at Kara as she approached his side and smiled. "Thanks, Kara."

"Anytime, Uncle Steve," she murmured with a smile that he couldn't see. She glanced over her shoulder, where the rest of the group was fighting, and nodded. "Go back, I'll take care of him."

Steve gave a small nod, muttering a quiet "Be careful" before sprinting back towards the other side.

Kara then turned to Peter, her eyes narrowing.

"Uh . . . hey? Nice to see you again." Peter shifted tentatively, seeming to be a little unnerved as he glanced down at her hands, which were cloaked in a glowing blue.

She stepped towards him, her eyes still narrowed as she spoke, "Peter Parker, you son of a bitch."

Peter's back stiffened. "What did I . . . Who are you?"

"Who amβ€”" Kara let out a laugh as she shook her head. It was no surprise to her that Tony hadn't revealed to him who she was.

With a sigh, she unhooked her mask and revealed the rest of her face, watching as the white lenses on his new mask widened.

"Kara?!" he exclaimed, freezing in his spot. "Youβ€”you . . . you're Psionic?"

"Yeah," she scoffed, "and, apparently, you're Spider-Man."

"Oh no," he said timidly, beginning to back up as she walked towards him, "I'm in trouble, aren't I?"

"Oh, just a bit." Kara raised her glowing hands, her eyes narrowed. She wouldn't hurt him of courseβ€”not too much, anyway.

"Kara, don'tβ€”"

She shot a small blast of energy toward him, and he jumped out of the way of just in time.

"Kara, pleaseβ€”"

She sent another his way, which he again avoided.

"Listenβ€”"

She used both of her hands to send a bigger blast, which hit the truck behind him once he had jumped to the side.

"Come on," he groaned as he slung a web and jumped to the top of the truck, before laying on his stomach in an attempt to try to hide from her sight. He called out, "Kara, please just listen to me."

"How about you listen to me? Not only did you lie to me, but you came here to arrest half my family?" she shouted as she continued sending shots at the top of the truck, trying to hit his hidden body (and failing). "What the hell!"

"Mr. Stark told me that Bucky was bad and that Captain America had gone crazy!" he defended as he peeked his head over the top, though he then ducked back down after a blast flew over his head.

"That's not true!"

"How was I supposed to know?" he protested.

"Well, I have a crazy idea, crazy, but maybe if you had talked to yourβ€”I don't knowβ€”girlfriend about it, she could've told you the truth!" she rebutted angrily, her hands raised as she waited for him to show himself.

He quickly jumped out and pushed his wrist out towards Kara, shooting a web that took hold of her right hand. "Mr. Stark told me not to tell you! What was I supposed to do, not listen to him?"

"Yes!" Kara created a small dagger made of energy in her left hand, using the sharp blade to cut through the web. She quickly absorbed the dagger's energy back into her hand and shot another blast toward Peter, which hit him the shoulder.

"Ah!" he groaned as he rubbed his shoulder, clearly caught off-guard.

After he recovered, he shot another two webs at her, then entrapping both of her hands this time. He tightened his grip on the end of his strings and pulled her towards him, close enough for them to be only inches apart from each other.

His hands still gripping the webs, he pulled his mask off and tossed it to the ground, revealing his slightly bruised face and messy hair. His brown eyes were pleading as they gazed into hers, and he murmured, "Kara, please, you have to understandβ€”"

"Oh, trust me, I understand all right," she scoffed, causing his face to fall.

She twisted her hands so that the web wrapped her wrists, and continued to do so several times in order for the web to be stretched out as thin as possible. As she did this, Kara could feel pain coming from the area that was being bound by the webs, but ignored it as she pressed on.

Once the web was stretched out enough to her liking, she used her energy to create another small dagger and sliced both of her hands free of the webs before absorbing the weapon once again.

She looked back towards Peter, whose eyes were gazing past her, widening as his jaw dropped.

She then turned on her heel to see Ant-Man, who was not so ant-like at the moment. He had grown larger than the building itself, clutching onto Rhodey as he tried to fly away.

When Kara turned back towards Peter, his mask was already pulled back over his head.

"Sorry, Kara. Seriously, I'm sorry," he said quickly before sprinting off in their direction.

Muttering quiet curses to herself, Kara rubbed her wrists (which she was sure were bruising) before chasing after him.

Her eyes moved upwards to watch as Scott threw Rhodey through the air, and Peter slung a web that attached to the flying armour before jumping onto a car so that he could stop Rhodey from crashing into an airplane.

Scott ripped off the wing of an airplane, including one of its engines, and tossed it in Tony's direction, which was close to where Kara was.

Before the piece of the airplane could blow up and probably kill her in the process, she teleported to the top of a pile of boxes that was behind Scott.

The wing exploded, causing a wave of heat to wash over them, and Kara felt a sense of relief go through her as she watched Tony fly out of the way just in time.

As Rhodey attacked Scott, he took a few wobbly steps backwards to avoid the hits.

Kara dove off of the boxes and rolled onto the ground, silently cursing while Scott's foot came down from above her.

She needed to find some better spots to go where she couldn't possibly be murdered by Scott.

Peter jumped onto Scott, climbing over his helmet before beginning to swing around his arms in an attempt to stop him.

Kara groaned before she began to shoot energy at him, although the attempts were rather weak.

She felt a sudden presence come next to her, and she paused in her blasts as she turned to see that Black Panther had come to attack.

Kara swallowed as she raised her hands. This wasn't going to go too well for her.

She ducked as he threw a punch her way, and quickly blasted energy toward him, which he flipped away from.

Showoff. Kara wished she could do flips.

He circled quickly around her, and she kept her hands up and her knees bent as she waited for him to stop.

The sound of another explosion filled her ears, and she stumbled as a flow of heat swept over her.

Kara tried to steady her breathing as she kept her eyes fixated on Black Panther; she was growing tired from all the energy she was using. She could feel sweat dripping down the side of her face, and the pain from her wrists most certainly wasn't helping either.

Black Panther suddenly paused, but she had no time to react as he swung his right fist into her jaw, making her stagger off to the side as she let out a loud gasp of pain.

Kara turned back to him, putting her hands together and quickly creating a small energy missile before launching it toward him.

It stuck onto his shoulder before exploding, the force then throwing him back into a nearby grounded plane.

She felt relief go through her as Clint then took him on, shooting an explosive arrow next to the black-suited man; she was done with him (thank God, his punches were hella strong).

Peter climbed down and began to swing his webs around Scott's knees, clearly trying to do one of those Star Wars things that Kara didn't care for.

With a sigh, she began to blast energy toward Peter once more, some of her shots hitting him but, unfortunately, not slowing him down.

While Kara continued blasting both him and Scott's knees with her energy, she could hear Amelia telling Maximoff to get Bucky and Steve onto the plane through her earpiece.

Right. Their earpieces were connected. So Amelia and Maximoff had heard everything Kara had yelled at Peter. Cool . . .

A few moments later, Peter stopped swingingβ€”his plan had worked.

Scott began to fall backwards once Tony and Rhodey had slammed into him, his arms flailing to the side as he tried to regain his balance. Meanwhile, Peter tried to give Tony a thumbs-up, but while being distracted by that, he was hit by Scott's thrashing arm.

Kara cried out as he flew backwards, her eyes following as he dropped towards the ground. Sure, she was mad at the guy, but she didn't want him to die!

As he fell, a purple glow settled around his body and slowed his fall as he neared the ground; Amelia, thankfully, had put a shield around him.

Once he had landed gently on the ground, Kara sprinted over to him and dropped to her knees.

"Peter," she said quickly as she cupped his masked cheek, "are you okay?"

He rubbed his head as he slowly got up, a small groan escaping his lips as he muttered, "Ow."

Kara sighed as she shook her head, "This is exactly whyβ€”"

She was interrupted by the sound of a crash of a building from behind her, and she turned to see the plane that Bucky and Steve were in taking off. Rhodey's figure followed as he set off after the plane in an attempt to stop them.

Kara's eyes widened as she heard Maximoff groan in pain through the earpiece, and felt her heart stop as Amelia screamed out his name while one of the grounded planes exploded.

She turned back to Peter and pointed a stern finger toward him as she instructed, "You stay right here. Don't move."

Kara teleported over to the exploded plane, where she found Maximoff, who, luckily, was safe and sound. Well, minus the burn on the side of his face, the bloody nose, the gash that tore across his side, and the charred marks littered across his entire suit. But otherwise, safe and sound.

Peering at him, Kara worriedly murmured, "Maximoff, you okay?"

"All good," he reassured her as he took the hand that she extended towards him, gripping it tightly and groaning as she helped him up.

Maximoff had barely gotten to his feet when the sound of yet another explosion sounded, and the two of them looked toward the source.

With widened eyes, they watched as Amelia collapsed onto the concrete, burn marks covering her entire body.

Maximoff immediately sprinted towards her, carefully lifting her up and placing her in his lap as she closed her eyes and quickly lost consciousness.

Kara teleported over to them, hearing Maximoff's voice crack in panic as he cradled her body.

"No, no, no, no," Kara whispered as she dropped to her knees, tears stinging her eyes.

Despite how tired she was, Kara quickly rested her hands on either side of Amelia's warm face and closed her eyes as she willed her energy to heal the girl.

She slowed her breathing, focusing on only her desire, and swallowed as she felt her head grow dizzy. She ignored it as she felt her fingers tingle with energy, and she peeked her eyes open to see the blue glow trickle over Amelia's face and heal her.

Kara kept her clutch tight on her face as she continued to heal her, though she knew her time was growing short. She could hardly hear the yells behind her, nor the muttered pleas coming from Maximoff as she shut her eyes once more.

Kara suddenly shook her head. She couldn't take any more.

She looked up to Maximoff as she carefully removed her hands from Amelia's cheeks and told him, "I don't think I can take much more. Go back to the Mansion."

Maximoff's eyebrows furrowed. "But what about yoβ€”"

"I'll be fine," she reassured him, though her dizzy head and tiring body told her otherwise. "Just go!"

As soon as Maximoff sped off, Kara heard the clunks of footsteps coming from behind her, and she turned around to see Tony walking towards her as he de-helmeted.

"Oh, uh," she gave a weak chuckle as she rubbed her forehead, "what's up?"

Tony didn't bother to address her question as he stepped towards her and demanded, "Where's Amelia?"

Kara squinted her eyes. "Who?"

"You know who."

"Voldemort?"

"Kara," he sighed, rubbing the side of his face. "Where is Amelia?"

"Who's Amelia?" Kara asked innocently. She tried her best to ignore the pounding headache that was only growing worse as she continued, "I've never heard of her."

"Kara," Tony warned as his gaze hardened, "you have three seconds to tell me."

She shrugged. "I have no clue."

"She was just here," he pointed out angrily, pointing towards the spot that Maximoff had left a minute before.

"Whaβ€”she was here?" Kara asked in feigned surprise as she dramatically whipped her head around (which she then regretted as a new wave of dizziness overtook her). "Here? Why didn't you tell me before, I would've said hi!"

Tony rolled his eyes. "Kara, ifβ€”"

"Maximoff took her back to the Mansion," she quickly admitted as she rubbed her forehead once again.

Tony's expression immediately morphed into one of rage as he furiously exclaimed with a reddened face, "Why'd you let him take her?!"

"Uh" β€”Kara's face scrunched upβ€” "because she's about to die?"

"Kara, just . . ." Tony let out a groan, turning his eyes to the sky for a moment before looking back down and shaking his head. "You know what, I'll deal with you later. Get up."

Kara's eyebrows furrowed, raising a hand to her head as she felt herself grow dizzier. "I, uh . . ."

"What are you doing?" he scoffed before motioning towards her. "Get up."

"I think . . . I'm gonna do the opposite," she mumbled, her breathing then slowing down as she swallowed.

Whatever Tony responded with went unheard as her eyes fluttered to a close, and she fell to the ground.
