Catalina's POV

It had been almost three months and Jack had not returned. Waiting anxiously, I decide to find him myself. Walking down the stairs, I make my way to the kitchen to find my father looking in the cupboard.

"Father, I think Jack may be in trouble. It's never taken him this long to come back."

My father turns and looks at me with a sad smile, "You may be right Lina. How about after supper we go in the boat and look around? Who knows he could be lost?"

I nod while wringing my hands together.

"Don't worry sweetie. We'll find him."

After supper, father gets the boat ready. I grab the first aid kit and a blanket then make my way down the hill to the beach. I sit in the boat as father pushes it off the shore then quickly jumps in. The tides are calm and the light dark starts to darken the longer we sail throughout the ocean.

I start to worry as it gets darker and later. There had been no sign of Jack anywhere. There had been no sign of anything anywhere.

"Why don't you take a quick rest? I'll try to get us to land before it gets to late."

I nod then wrap myself up in my blanket. My eyes fall heavily in exhaustion. The last thing I remember seeing was a shadow of a ship sailing near us.

Waking up, I notice that I'm not in my room nor am I in my fathers boat. I seemed to be in a nice looking room on a ship.

Getting up from the chair I am in, I walk around slowly trying not to make any noise. Looking at all the pictures and letters around the room, I figure out that I am aboard an English Trading ship. It reminded me of the one Jack had talked about working for.

Suddenly, the door swings open and soldiers march in with fire arms. A small man in a white wig follows behind them and stops directly in front of me.

"My name is Cutler Beckett. What are you doing sailing at night? Or even sailing at all?"

I frown and look at the blank faces all around me. No one seemed to care about the sexist little man.

"We'll sir I'm just trying to find my friend. He hasn't returned home-"

"What's his name?" He interrupts looking bored.

"Jack..."

His eyebrows furrow, "Sparrow," Beckett whispers to himself.

I nod as I hear him whisper, "Yes I believe that's the name he's going by now."

He turns around and smirks at me.

"I happen to know exactly where he is."

"Really? Oh thank you so much!" I smile widely clasping my hands together as if praying.

He leads me downstairs to the bottom of the boat. I walk a couple more stairs just to see prison bars but with no one behind them.

"He's not here."

Turning around, I am instantly knocked out.

My eyelids flutter quickly as I try to wake up. Holding my head, I groan while also trying to sit up. Hearing chains, I look at my wrists only to find my hands shackled together.

"What the-"

"Catalina..."

Glancing to my left, I see my father shackled up also. I frown and try to pull my hand out the iron clasps but there's no point.

"I'm so sorry Catalina. I really am."

My father starts to cry a little as he looks down at the bottom of the ship.

"Why are you sorry? It's not your fault that evil little man locked us up. He must be very angry for some reason. We should try to reason with him."

Father shakes his head, "There will be no reasoning Lina. Not with this man. Once he figures out..."

He stops talking and glances up at me then sighs, "My secret then it shall not be good."

"What secret?"

My eyebrows furrow in confusion. Father had never lied to me or kept a secret before... or so I thought. What was he keeping now.

Suddenly, the doors slam open and men come marching in the room. They grab my father out of his shackles and drag him upstairs.

"Daddy! Let him go!"

"Please spare my daughter! She isn't part of this. Let her go!"

The door closes and a river of tears fall down my face. What did he mean by I'm not part of 'this'? What is 'this'? Why did this have to happen? I just wanted to find Jack and make sure he was okay.

Minutes pass by and there is no sign of any noise on deck. Sighing, I look up at the ceiling and think of where I would be if this hadn't happened.

I'm brought out of my thoughts as the door opens again. I look up as footsteps sound down the stairs. One pair of feet make their way towards me. I finally glance at the person and frown. It's Beckett.

"You, young and naive girl... I have something for you."

A sick twisted smile makes way on his face as he unlocks the gate. Pulling me to my feet harshly, he drags my body up the stairs to the deck. I squint and try to get used to the bright sun shining down on us. Beckett pulls me to the middle of the ship then lets go. What I see next makes me fall to my knees in despair.

Tied to the center post is my father.

"What are you doing? What's going on?"

Beckett shushes me and holds up a pistol to my head. I whimper in fear looking at my father as he struggles to get out of his trap.

"Antonio Perez... You have been a trouble to find. Now tell me... where is Sparrow?"

My fathers eyes widen as Beckett takes off the safety and the gun clicks.

"I have no idea. He was meant to be back almost two weeks ago."

Beckett nods, "Alright I'm a generous man so I'll let your daughter go..."

Father smiles widely and opens his mouth to speak, but Beckett holds a finger up silencing him.

"Only if you tell me what it is you've been doing these past few years. You left the Navy to what exactly? You told me it was to raise a child..."

"I-I don't know what you're talking about. I have been home with my daughter."

I try not to show confusion as I think to what was just said. Father had never been home that much and he definitely didn't stay to raise me. If anything I also wanted to know what it was that he did in his spare time.

"Wrong answer."

Beckett shoots the gun behind my head and the bullet shoots off in the water. The sound of the loud shot makes my ears ring. I hold my head in pain as all sound silenced. I see my father shouting something at Beckett who just stands with a smirk.

Sighing in relief as my hearing slowly comes back I look at my father with pleading eyes, "What's going on? Why is he doing this?"

"I'm so sorry Catalina. I didn't want to drag you into this. Please please I beg of you, let my daughter go. She doesn't know about me and she isn't a part of this. Never was."

For a second, Beckett looks like he is considering then he shakes his head. Beckett snaps his finger and my father is shot right in front of my eyes.

"Daddy! No!"

I struggle against two soldiers who hold my arms.

"You monster!!"

Beckett growls as he holds up my dead fathers arm which had an old brand mark. One that I knew nothing about.

"What?" I mumble to myself while staring at the mark that would forever haunt me.

Beckett smirks while throwing down my fathers arm, "I don't help pirates."

Tears run down my face as I think about what is to happen to me. Is he going to kill me?

"Please I just wanted to find my friend. Please let me go. You've already killed my father what more do you want?"

"Don't worry you'll be gone before you know it... you can thank Sparrow for this."

Without another word, Beckett leaves into his quarters and I am surrounded by men. I close my eyes and hope this is a nightmare but as time goes by I know that my life has changed forever.

3rd Person's POV

Waking up Catalina notices that she is on a beach. Her body slightly sways in the water. Looking down, she sees red surrounding her figure. After almost an hour of laying on the beach, she finally gains the energy to get up and notices that she has drifted onto the island of Tortuga. She had heard many stories of the place but never had the privilege of leaving her home island.

After limping around for an hour, she finds an abandoned house. She falls to the ground with her back against the door and cries into her hands.

"What do I do now?"

Minutes pass by and she gets herself together. She stands up and limps through the house in search of a bathroom. She looks in the mirror in horror of her reflection. Her hair was disheveled, she had a black eye, cuts all over her body, bruises shaped like hands everywhere on her arms, legs, and throat, but the worst thing of all, was a newly burnt mark on her wrist.

"P for pirate..." She whispers as she rubs the mark.

A week goes by and Catalina turns the abandoned house into her own. While walking to the bar for a drink, she hears a voice she thought had been a ghost.

"Aye love the Black Pearl is all mine. Would you like a tour?"

She turns around and sees the one and only Jack standing making out with a girl against the wall.

"I'd love to."

She watches as Jack's hands roam the woman as they walk down the pathway. The two disappear as tears fall down Catalina's face.

"He promised to come back." She whispers to herself.

While walking home she is attacked by two drunk men. But this time instead of giving up, she fights. As she lays on the ground kicking and clawing at the men, her hands move around the ground and find a piece of broken glass. She raises the glass and stabs one man in the neck. His eyes bulge out his head as he lets her go and holds onto the open cut on his throat.

"Help!" He wheezes as he falls to his knees.

The second man is so distracted by the first that he doesn't notice Catalina standing behind him with an evil gleam in her eye. She raises the glass again and wraps her arm around the man as she slits his neck.

She laughs insanely as the two roll around on the ground helplessly. Cracking her neck she grips onto the glass not even feeling a hint of pain as a cut forms on her palm. Her blood falls down her arm as she slowly walks over to the men. They try to crawl away but she just continues to laugh.

"Pathetic."

As anger courses through her veins, Catalina blacks out and stabs them both to death. For some reason that night she had changed and it felt good.

After weeks of getting herself together, she decides to take revenge. Take revenge for every woman who had ever been harmed by a man and every person that had been branded a pirate. She was a killer and she knew that's what she was born to be.
