AUTHOR'S NOTE/It’s been a while since I posted here, right? To be honest, I forgot the existence of my fanfic for a while, but here we are anyway!

Leopardpaw sat between Moonpaw and Sunpaw in the front row. The gathering was going to start soon

Two apprentices, aged at least 8 moons, came to join them

"Hi !" Meowed a cream cat with darker paws and icy blue eyes. "This must be your first gathering, right?"

"Indeed." Leopardpaw said proudly.

"My name is Eaglepaw" the cream cat introduced herself. "And he is Grasspaw"

The apprentice greeted them with a growl

Leopardpaw was about to introduce herself with Moonpaw and Sunpaw, when suddenly the meow of Squirrelstar, leader of the Thunderclan, gave the signal for the gathering

Everyone fell silent, and Squirrelstar invited Reedstar to speak.

"We have 3 new apprentices in our ranks.
Moonpaw, Sunpaw, and Leopardpaw." The river clan leader announced.

Meows echoed in the other clans, Leopardpaw raised her tail high.

Reedstar then gave way to Harestar, the leader of WindClan. He told them that the moors are starting to be more gamey, a sign that the season of new leaves would soon be coming, then let the leader of the ShadowClan speak

"One of our apprentices became a warrior, it's Firpaw, now became Firbark"

The Meows rang out again, congratulating the new warrior. Goldenstar signaled the silence with a flick of his tail.

Once silence returned, Squirrelstar spoke

"A fox attacked us at camp, but we managed to repel it and no one was hurt." she confided

"Does anyone have anything else to say?" Asked Harestar

" No ?" He said once the other leaders had responded by shaking their heads." In this case the gathering is over"

Leopardpaw then followed his clan on the way back.

"Raincloud didn't talk about these cats." Suncloud whispered

"She probably wanted to leave the clans out of all this"Leopardpaw thought.

" Maybe, but it could have given us some information"

"What kind of information?" The Golden Spotted Apprentice asked

Moonpaw didn't have time to respond.

"What are you doing? You're falling behind!" Raincloud scolded them

"Sorry!" The apprentices apologized

"Wake up you marmot !"

Leopardpaw opened her eyes, and let out a yawn

"Moonpaw, why did you wake me up?" Leopardpaw protested

"Raincloud and Shrewnose are taking us to hunt"

"Sunpaw isn't coming?"

"Dawnfall took her out in patrol

Leopardpaw woke up, then quickly groomed herself. It has now been two moons and a half since she, Moonpaw and Sunpaw were apprentices

" I'm waiting for you outside" Moonpaw meowed to her

Once she was finished grooming herself, Leopardpaw went to join her sister. She heard Reedstar chatting with Lilypaw, but the golden spotted she cat was too far to hear them

Leopardpaw waited for a wish to approach, then with Moonpaw's help, she managed to take it out of the water and finished it out with a bite

"Congratulations" Raincloud meowed to them. "Soon you'll be great fishers"

But her voice betrayed an emotion that Leopardpaw couldn't know. What was Raincloud feeling? Sadness? Nostalgia?

"One day, we will finally know" Leopardpaw said to herself

Funfact, Lilypaw's prefix in french is actually Waterlily, but i made it shorter for the English version bc yes

Btw I keep forgetting this book exists :D like when I started to write this chapter, it was 8th of January and now we're almost close to April
