James's POV

When I entered the Great Hall the next morning, the excitement of our prank had died down. I walked over to the Gryffindor table. The girls were having breakfast. The idiots must be frantically getting ready in the dormitory, I thought and snorted to myself. I helped myself to toast and coffee. A few eternities passed before a hundred owls came swooping in. I checked my copy of the Daily Prophet. There was nothing new. A few minutes later, Moony arrived for breakfast. He grumpily sat down and put some things on his plate. I chuckled at him, and he glared back at me. He got up and moved to the end of the table, where he sleepily chewed his food. After a while, Padfoot and Peter appeared.

"Wherewolf?" He whispered cheekily, loud enough for only the Marauders to hear. I turned around and pointed at Remus.

"Therewolf," I replied. He glared at us and said, "I'll kill you both."

Padfoot, Peter, and I giggled.

Sirius sat down and picked up the whole platter of cheese sandwiches. Remus and I facepalmed. When all four of us had finished eating, we went over to the girls, who had finished eating and were gossiping.

"Do you want to play a prank?"

All of our jaws dropped as we stared at the Head Girl. Sirius recovered first.

"Head Girl with no detentions, say what?" He asked with raised eyebrows.

"What? It's not that shocking." She said. Everyone snorted in disbelief.

"I do break the rules! I'm just smart enough not to get caught." She said smartly.

"Well, that's true," Marlene said.

"Look, if you don't wanna do it, us girls will do it without you. We are better than you."

"Oh, Evans, you have no idea what you just started," Sirius said with a mischievous glint in his eyes.

"What?" She asked, narrowing her eyes at him.

"Prank war!" 

She smirked and declared, "Bring it on!"

A/N

Short chapter, I know! I am so sorry! I promise, from now, I'll try to update every Monday if possible. It's just I've got too much on my plate.
