You played nervously with your hair as you stood at the park gates waiting. You were planning on having a day at the park today with one of your best friends, Pepe le pew. Ok, so he was also you crush, but what did that matter? 

You tapped your feet, glanced around and checked your watch as you waited for him. It was noon now and you still couldn't see any sign of him. You just hoped your shyness wouldn't get the better of you today.

He finally arrived.

 "Hey Pepe! What took you so long?" You shouted .

 "What? I was just being fashionably late" he smirked.

You rolled your eyes at this remark and both set off for your stroll.

you smiled and looked around at the beautiful sights. The luscious green leaves falling from the trees and scattering themselves everywhere, the children running around, laughing and playing and generally enjoying life together. Today was perfect.

You two were walking side to side and you were carrying a picnic basket in one arm. As your gaze fell upon just anything beautiful that caught your eye, his was falling upon something else.

How he longed to just reach out and grab your hand. He wanted to hold yours and kiss you and do things lovers do but he couldn't. He couldn't go back to his old ways, and besides, you just don't try that sort of thing on with any girls, do you? Nuh uh. Too awkward and disrespectful. He hoped he had a chance though, but he didn't know that if he just made a move, you'd feel the same.

"So" you started quietly and stopped walking to brush a hair out of your face.

"Hmm?"

" Where do you think we should sit? " you asked. You wanted to make sure you two both enjoyed it and you were scared of picking a place you two didn't both enjoy.

"Uh...well...zat looks to be a nice shady spot over there" he pointed to a spot with lots of trees.

It certainly did look nice and quiet. "Yeah, good idea" you agreed and smiled.

You both sat yourself down and took out the contents of the picnic basket. Sandwiches, spreads, a cake and some other treats. It was a fine spread and you both managed to polish it off.

 "MMm, I don't know how you did eet, but zat whole picnic basket was heavenly. Simply magnifique" he smiled contentedly and licked his paws.

You blushed. You did that very easily, being shy as you were.

"Thanks"

"My pleasure" he smiled charmingly. 'but did you not pack ze ice cream? "

"Ice cream? But it would melt!" 

" Hmm, I see. There is a stall over there selling eet. Do you want some? " he offered.

"Sure"

"I'll get you some then" he said, getting up.

You watched him go and get the ice cream. You were dying in the inside to confess your crush, but you couldn't. He returned with two ice creams.

 "Thanks!"

 " you're welcome my dear"

It was a bit of an awkward silence after that as you ate and watched each other.

He stared at you for a moment. "(y/n), you..."

You honestly hoped he was going to tell you he liked you.

" Yes?" You batted your eyelids.

"have ice cream all over your face"he replied.

You blushed madly when he said this and frantically wiped it off.

He chuckled. "You know, eet ees really adorable when you do that"

 "Do what?" You asked.

" Blush like zat. Your face goes all red, eets so sweet"

This made you blush even harder. "T-thanks. You're pretty cute yourself" you replied, hardly believing what you had just said.

 He smiled. "Thank you. You know, if you want to turn this into a date" 

You looked at him with astonishment. Did he like you? 

 "I...would love to" you smiled and then did something that surprised even you. You reached out and gave him a hug.

He was surprised but hugged you back and planted a small kiss on your forehead.

 "I really like you" you confessed as he petted your hair.

 "I know. Ze feeling is mutual"
