Marvin sat down on the park bench after a long day to think. He buried his head in his hands, with a defeated look on his face and let out a sigh.

 "Why do people run away from me and are always so afraid? I'm really a nice guy!" He said to himself. "Talking to myself...again. Oh."

You decided to take a walk in the park. It was a beautiful summer evening, very warm. You decided to sit by your favourite place in the park, in front of the pond. It was so peaceful. You just say there smiling, when you heard a noise coming from behind you. It was someone talking.

 "Oh, but it makes you lonely, not having a friend" you heard someone say. You look behind you to see an alien looking creature, much to your surprise. He was wearing a green helmet, but you could see an expression of sadness on his face. He didn't look dangerous, he looked sad, so decided to approach him and talk with him about what was making him so sad.

 "H-hey, are you okay?" You ask . He didn't notice you first, so he was surprised.

 "Huh? Oh, well, I'm fine" he lied.

"Are you sure? It's ok to talk about it if you're not" you say with a sweet smile. He opened up to your kindness, and replied.

"Well...It's just that I feel misunderstood, like no one gets me. They don't look past my Martian exterior, and realise I'm a sweet and sensitive guy" 

 You thought for a minute before saying something. "People can be like that. They can be pretty judgemental and some only care about looks, but everyone feels the way you do at some point, like we don't fit in. You just have to earn their trust" you say with a smile.

He looks up at you for a minute, hardly believing anyone would care this much.

 "I guess you're right" he finally says with a smile. "Thank you earthling for teaching me this"

 "You can call me (y/n)" you say with a giggle.

 " Marvin the Martian " he introduces himself as you both shake hands.

 "I hope to see you again Marvin" 

"I know a really neat place called pizzariba, how about there, tonight? But that's only if you want to, it's completely fine if you..."

 " I would love to, see you tonight at 6! " you rush back home to get ready for tonight.

He smiled in content that he at last had a friend.
