"Really?! That's awesome. Are you nervous?" Yaoyorozu questioned.
You arched your brow slightly, wondering why she was so concerned about you, no one has been like this to you. "A little I guess, though it's only natural."
"I bet you'll fit in right away. When are you starting?" She asked another question.
"I have no clue, whenever I get accepted. So it's just a waiting game for now."
"That must be annoying. I had it pretty easy getting into school through recommendations." She explained.
"Heh, so you must be really smart then?" You gave her a playful grin.
"Some would say, though I don't want to give myself too much credit."
"And you're humble. I like it." You added and she gave you a small giggle.
"Wanna walk around? We can get to know each other a little more. If that's okay with you of course." She said cautiously, taking you into consideration.
"Why is she so interested in me? and nice.." You thought with frustration.
"Yeah of course." You agreed and stood up with her.
You both began to walk on the paved park grounds. It was silent between the both of you, slight chatter and noise in the distance stayed active. Yaoyorozu was the first to speak again.
"So.." She paused. "What do you want to be when you're older?" She asked, looking over your way.
You panicked slightly, swallowing the lump that formed in your throat. "Well I haven't really thought about it much, but if i had to choose.." You paused to think, coming up with a believable lie. "...Probably a teacher." In all reality you hated children. You cringed slightly at your own response.
"Interesting, it seems like a nice job."
"I'm guessing you're going to stick to being a hero." You assumed.
"Correct! I would honestly love to run my own hero agency." She said with passion, being pulled into thought.
You nodded. "What a waste."
"You seem pretty passionate about being a hero, why? What makes you want to be a hero?"
You asked genuinely, trying to hide your almost offended tone.
"Well I already come from a long line of famous pro heroes, so I had that path pretty much already paved for me. Although it runs in my family I would love to do nothing more than to help people, especially those indeed." She answered.
"But a lot of people take that for granted, why help such selfish people?" You balled your hands into tight fists.
"Selfish or not they're still people, plus not everyone is like that." She quickly added, confusion on her face to why you would say such.
You stayed silent, processing each and every one of her words. None of them made sense to you. It was utter nonsense.
"I'm taking it that you're not much of a people person." Yaoyorozu said with a chuckle to lighten the mood.
"Hm, yeah that's fitting." You nodded in agreement with an amused smile.
Just before Yaoyorozu began to speak, her phone began to ring, cutting her off.
"Ah, excuse me for a second." She apologized before picking up the call.
The call only lasted about a minute before she said bye and hung. She looked at you apologetically.
"I'm sorry about that, it was my parents." She put her phone away.
"It's alright."
"Also I hate to cut our time short but I have to return home." She gave you a small frown.
"Why don't I walk you home? It's almost fully dark outside." You suggest, although it was just a poor excuse to spend a little more time with the girl.
Passing time with people who weren't related to the league was new for you. You felt somewhat normal, it was refreshing.
Yaoyorozu studied your expression, she then put a smile on and nodded. "Sure, that would be great. At least I'll have a little more protection." She giggled quietly.
"Ironic." You chuckled.
"Of course, you never know when villains might show up. There's quite a rise in them these past few months." You said with an eye-roll. "Those small ones are pathetic, they think they're going places but the only places they'll be joining is prison." Annoyance filled your tone.
"Sounds like someone isn't too fond of villains." Yaoyorozu slightly nudged you playfully.
"Let's just say I'm not a fan of many people in general." You chuckled.
"That's fair, but don't get stuck in that mind set for too long. You might let some good people slip from you." She gave you a worried look, a pitying look.
"Don't pity me.." You thought.
"I guess you're right." You paused and bit your lower lip, thinking before speaking. "You're really smart Yaoyorozu, and I'm not speaking academically since I'm guessing you get that a lot, I mean word and advice wise. You seem like a really good person." You looked over at her with a smile.
She looked a slight bit taken back as she gave you a flattered look. "Really?" She said in a squeaky tone. "Thank you Y/l, that was sweet of you." Her smile grew larger from the honest compliment.
You both kept walking, by now it was dark enough for the street lights to flicker on, once the street was illuminated you took notice that you were on the rich side of the city. Awe filled you as your eyes scanned over the many large houses. All fancy, clean and well kept, nothing like the old bar.
You heard Yaoyorozu's steps come to a halt, which made you stop as well, peeling your attention off the mansions to the girl. She stood in front of large metal gates.
"Well, this is home. I wish I could invite you in but I'd have to ask my parents first. They're pretty neat and like to prepare ahead of time."
"You're totally loaded." You gave her an amazed laugh as you shook your head.
"That's one way to put it. Though I never try to flaunt it." She explained, a hint of embarrassment weaved through her words.
"I totally would." You chuckled.
She gave you a small laugh before speaking. "Thanks for walking me home."
"Of course! Like I said it's dangerous at night, although I'm sure you could put up a good fight with those skills of yours." You said playfully. "Good night Yaoyorozu, Ill see you soon." You said accompanied with a small wave as you watched her turn towards her house.
The moment she turned her back after you said goodbye you quickly and silently took on your bat form and flew away out of sight, into the dark sky that provided extra cover.
"Wait Y/l, what's your quirk anyways?..." She trailed off as she realized you were already gone when she turned around. "What the..?"
