You stalked through the rough and thick bushes of the forest, making sure to make the least amount of noise possible. Fighting another student wasn't the current idea. You wanted to stay out of sight until it was nightfall, knowing that's when the league is set for the ambush.

It had already been 3 hours since Mr. Aizawa shot off the cap gun, announcing that the free for all had begun. You stationed yourself in a tree, high enough that it would be difficult for another student to spot you. The sun was currently just placed above the mountains, still illuminating the area enough to see well, you knew it was around an hour until the ambush. Your mind rushed with adrenaline at the thought.

You were immediately pulled from your thoughts after hearing a twig snap underneath you. You held your breath and looked down seeing Jiro underneath you, looking ahead. You closed your eyes and put your hands over your mouth. Once you opened your eyes again she was gone. The coast was clear, you let out a soft sigh of relief.

"Gotcha'" Jiro suddenly announced from behind you, hitting you hard enough for you to fall from your branch.

You fell onto the hard forest floor with a thud. "Ack!" You groaned and shot up almost immediately.

"I got ambushed.."

You looked around your surroundings, finding Jiro standing ahead of you.

"Shit, I didn't want to fight." You grumbled.

"Y/l, you should've remembered some of us have quirks that allow us to hear minuscule sounds," Jiro said.

"Trust me, I remember, you just caught me off guard." You said while brushing a twig off your costume.

You glanced at the sky, knowing your quirk wasn't yet strengthened by the lack of sunlight, since the sun was still out. There was still a fair advantage between the both of you.

"All I have to do is defeat you before the sun goes down, that won't be a problem." She threatened, slamming her earphone jacks into the ground.

There wasn't much warning before the ground underneath you began to rumble and rip up, sending you flying into a nearby tree.

You coughed out at the impact, knocking the air out of yourself.

"You idiot! You'll attract other students over here then it'll be even more of a pain!" You shouted.

"That just means I have to finish you faster than." She appeared in front of you through the dust of the rubble.

She sent her earphone jacks straight for you, with your quick reflexes you dodged out of the way, her jacks sticking into the tree behind you instead. While she was distracted by pulling them out of the tree you ran up and side-kicked her straight in the gut, making her stumble back.

"Sure you have aoe advantage on me, but you don't have the hand-to-hand combat I have." You said while she was on the ground.

She coughed and sat up, letting out a small chuckle as her earphone jacks quickly caught around your legs, sweeping you off your feet. Once you got back up on your feet she disappeared again.

"Shit." You mumbled.

You looked around you to see no movement at all.

"It's not enough.." You thought.

You rolled up the sleeve of your hero costume and let your sharp fangs extract, you dug your teeth into your arm, having to drink your blood for stronger powers.

You winced as you pulled away, wiping the blood off your face. You felt a rush of heightened power rush through you. Your quirk was now a lot stronger than it originally was, allowing you to do things you couldn't before. Your senses have been heightened greatly, you scanned your area once more and caught the smallest movements you wouldn't have been able to before.

You extracted your nails that were now even longer and sharper thanks to the rush of blood. You dashed at the tree Jiro was hiding behind and slashed at it, splitting it in half, revealing the girl. You were met with another shockwave that sent a log at you. You dashed straight through it, ripping a branch off it and sending it hurling at the girl.

With little time to dodge, she tried to block it but it stuck in her jacket and stuck her to the tree behind her. With a grunt she ripped the branch off, unconnecting her from the tree, she soon stumbled to her knees.

"f..fine.. you win." She huffed in defeat. "You're damn scary." She added.

"I'll take that as a compliment, you did good Jiro, you put up a hell of a fight." You walked over to help her up, putting out your hand to help her up.

"I'm not touching your hand while those claws are out." She motioned at your nails.

"Oh yeah." You chuckled and let them grow shorter back to your original length.

She took your hand up, but she quickly drop kicked you off your feet and dashed off.

You hit the ground once again. "I guess I deserved that." You groaned and stood back up, Jiro nowhere to be seen.

You rolled your eyes and decided to find yourself another hiding spot, away from all the commotion you had just caused.

After another half hour of hiding, letting yourself recharge as your bloodlust ran out, you heard a voice.

"Pst."

You quickly whipped your head around towards the noise to see Twice half through a portal.

"What the fuck man." You jumped down from your tree.

"We came to see you before y'know.." Toga said, popping up beside Twice.

"You're going to blow my cover!" You whispered harshly.

"I know, but we wanted to see you, we miss you." Twice said, pulling you into a suffocating hug.

"I was literally there last weekend.."

"Yeah, that was long ago," Toga added, Twice nodded along.

You sighed and smiled anyways.

"Well, it's always nice to see you guys, even under these circumstances." You gazed around your surroundings.

"Also the boss said to stay out of the way of the villains, they know you're one of us but y'know you can trust newbies sometimes." Twice warned.

"Sounds fine by me, just sit by and watch all the chaos unravel."

"Exactly, anyways we gotta meet the boss one last time then it's game on. Cya!" Twice said.

"Stay safe, love you guys!" You waved Toga and Twice bye.

They disappeared into the deep purple smoke, not a trace of them to be found. You turned around and thought you caught something red and white behind a tree but assumed your eyes were playing tricks on you.

"I'm just all agitated and on edge.." You muttered, taking a glance at the sky to see the sun had finally set.

You could already feel that your quirk was growing stronger. Your face grew a large grin as you watched a red flare go off from the forest.

"Let the fun begin, get them, you guys."

Your grin immediately fell at the sound of a scream, a familiar scream.
