Twenty Five

Communication has been slow recently. You have officials on your ass ever since that ambush. Some may call it karma and others call it a royal pain in the ass. Laying low has been easy, and if anything like a vacation. It's practically been a 2 week vacation with Yaoyorozu, which you enjoyed plentifully.

Something has felt off recently though, a feeling of impending doom creeping up on you at any moment. Yaoyorozu was quick to notice any time you felt off. She would help you plant your feet back into reality, sooth you with her comfort. She was a pill, a fix to your issues.

"...And that's how I almost killed a lady." Bakugo finished, bringing you back from your head.

He looked at everyone's concerned looks, then at you, clearly not amused that you hadn't been listening.

"I... I don't think you should be driving anymore." Midoriya said meekly.

Bakugo gave him a glare. "Shut up extra." He then looked back at you. "Good to see you're back Y/n, you missed my whole story." He glared, almost pouting.

You shifted uncomfortably. "Sorry, just, tired." You lied. Yaoyorozu gave you a look, clearly seeing through your facade.

You stuffed your face with cafeteria food, melting at its flavour. One things for sure, that this life provides is much better food. Yaoyorozu gave you a small smile and a light leg tap from under the table, noticing you finished your food quickly. Her eyes fixated on you, a hint that she wants to talk. You nodded softly, understating her secretive cue.

"I'll be right back guys." You state, standing up.

"I'll come with, I need to grab something from my locker before class." Yaoyorozu hastily adds, standing from her seat as well.

Your group of friends went back to talking as you both made your exit.

"Hm, what's wrong?" You tilted your head, wondering why the girl had wanted to leave.

"I just... wanted to be alone with you." She smiled, earning a light blush from you.

"O-oh," You stammer "Well, I definitely don't have objections towards that." You gently pushed into her shoulder.

You follow Yaoyorozu as she walks towards the campus of the school, she abruptly pushes you up against a tree and quickly locks lips with you. You gasp against her sudden actions, but quickly submit to her kiss.

You pull back shocked, "What was that for?" You arch a brow, uttering in a flustered tone.

She grins happily, "No reason, I just had to. You look too perfect for me to not want you." She held your hand. You kiss her cheek gleefully.

"You're perfect." You chime, you're suddenly cut off by the warning bell.

You groan, rolling your eyes as you distance yourself. "I really don't want to do school today."

"Well, we don't have a choice," She smiles sweetly "Plus, we've almost made it to spring break, so hang in there, then I'll have you all to myself." She grins, giving your hand a squeeze.

"Fair, you have a point. Fine, I'll put with it for you." You finish, starting to walk back to the school, with the goal of getting to class.

You finally make it to Homeroom, using your hand to slide open the door. You stop as you feel the thick, tense air in the room. You find Mr. Aizawa and your classmate, Todoroki, conversing. By the feeling in the room, it had to be something intense. You shrug and walk into the class, their eyes following you, Yaoyorozu gives you an unsure look.

Eventually the rest of the class joins, Todoroki returning to his seat. The final bell echoes through the building, signalling for the rowdy class to settle down. Everyone, aside from Mina and Denki gossiping, go silent. Your teacher gives them a steady glare until they go silent.

"Welcome back," He says in a bored tone, but there was something else behind his tone, something new. "Please just," He pinches the bridge of his nose while speaking "just be quiet and review pages 40 to 49 in your fighting tactics text books for today, I have some, personal matters to take care of." He fidgets, finishing his sentence as he leaves the class, abruptly slamming the door behind him.

You jump slightly, contracting his odd behaviour and mood. "What the hell".

You shoot Yaoyorozu a look, she mirrors your face. She decides to brush it off and go into her bag to fetch her textbook, like a good student. You decide to mimic her actions, pulling out your text book, were you going to read, no, of course not.  You doodled on your page, that impending feeling of doom worsening by the tick of time.

The noise of footsteps and the classroom door opening pulls you from your thoughts. Your attention rises, you look up, seeing Mr. Aizawa enter the room, but not alone. Your body tenses as you see multiple armed officers enter, alongside AllMight and Principal Nezu. They file into the room, clearly focused and on a mission.

"Y/n L/n," Your teacher's voice booms, everyone's attention shifting, small whispers erupting. You look up in slight fear, trying to put on a mask. "Your gig is up." He states.

"I'm not sure what you mea-" You get cut off before you could finish.

"Enough, we know what you are and who you are, The League's newest addition." His cold eyes pierce through you.

You quickly stood up from your desk, your chair falling over behind you with a loud crash, your muscles tensed. The room went cold, silent and dark. You felt your blood rise to your face, your jaw clenched hard. Each pair of eyes in the room were on you.

"This... This is ridiculous!" You stammered, a shaky laugh escaping your mouth.

You looked to Yaoyorozu who was now standing, her eyes wide, welling with what looked to be tears. Her mouth was slightly agape, mouthing the words "why?". Betrayal painted her face.

"Tell me they're wrong Y/n..." You hear her say, your ears ringing.

"Make this easy, Y/n, turn yourself in, maybe we'll go easy." Mr. Aizawa threatens.

Bakugo stands up angrily, his face wearing a look of betrayal as well, "Tell me they're lying!" He shouts.

"Fuck." The officers begin to close in. Your chest feels as if it was collapsing in on its self. Your brain rushed, your heart raced, your face burned. "No."

You back up, stumbling into your knocked over chair.  "I hate you. I hate you heroes, I hate you!" You yell, your adrenaline taking over. "But this is not the end, no we're just getting started. I got enough information from you." You spit, your voice filled with anger and venom, hiding your fear.

"Get her!" Mr. Aizawa shouts, picking up on your cue of you backing away.

You use your speed to dash towards the back of the class, suddenly your quirk stops. Aizawa glares at you, disabling your quirk. With only adrenaline coursing through you, you punched the window, surprisingly it gave out and shattered, sharp edges ripping through your fists. You look back, finding Yaoyorozu's teary eyes, your heart shattered. "I'm sorry".

You jump from the window, quickly falling as you hear shouts coming from inside the class. Once you got close enough to the ground, and away from Aizawa's view, you turned into a bat, flying away as fast as you ever had.

Once you made it to the city you stopped into an alley way. You pushed up against the wall, wiping your tears. You could hear shouting in the distance, sirens followed. You had to get to the hide out, and quick. With hesitation you rolled your sleeve up and bit into your arm, allowing your own blood to fuel your quirk. You swallowed hard and braced yourself, dashing away and running without a thought. You allowed your feet to carry you to your familiar hide out.

Bursting through the old door you fell to the ground. A group of familiar people surrounded you.

"Y/n!" Toga shouts, "You're... bleeding?!" She rushed to your side.

You choke back a sobs, feeling your body crumble fully to the ground.

"Kiddo! What happened?" Twice asks repeatedly.

Speaking was hard. Your mouth opened but remained silent, aside from the occasional sob.

Shigaraki looked down at you. "Y/n..."

"They... They caught me, they knew, they know!" Your voice rung out.

"They all fucking know."
