All four of us ran out of the beavers dam, Mr. Beaver guided us up a hill where we could see a, big ice castle is what it looked like.
"Edmund!" Lucy yells
"They'll hear you!" Mr. Beaver says trying to get her to be quiet
Lucy then tries to run forward but before I could grab her Mr. Beaver does
"Let go of me!" Lucy tells him
"You're playing into her hands" Mr. Beaver tells us
"We can't just let him go" Susan tells him
"He's our brother!" Peter adds
"He's the bait, isn't he?" I ask him
"Yes you're exactly right, she is using him as bait. The witch wants all five of you" Mr. Beaver says
"Why?" Peter asks him
"To stop the prophecy from coming true. To kill you!" Mr. Beaver tells us all and I felt my heart drop
"This is all your fault" Susan says to Peter
"My fault?" Peter asks
"None of this would have happened if you had listened to me in the first place!" Susan tells him
"Well-well- Cora said she would protect us all so put the blame on her!" Peter says stumbling over his words at first not knowing what to say
"Me?! I can't exactly do the protecting if your down your own brothers throat all the time!" I tell him emphasizing the word 'own'
"We should have left while we could" Susan tells him
"Stop it! This isn't going to help Edmund" Lucy tells us
"She's right. Only Aslan can help your brother now" Mr. Beaver tells us
"Then take us to him" I tell him
We all quickly sprint back to the dam. If they had Edmund he was going to have to tell her where we all were.
"Hurry mother! They're after us!" Mr. Beaver tells as we run inside
"Oh right then" she says way to calmly
"What's she doing?" Peter asks in a panic
"Oh you'll be thanking me later. It's a long journey and Beaver gets pretty cranky when he's hungry" she tells us
"I'm cranky now!" He yells at her
Susan and I quickly rush over and help her to speed up the process
"Do you think we'll need jam?" Susan asks
"Only if the serves toast" Peter says back quickly, making her send him a glare
Then we heard barking outside. It got louder and louder until they started leading us down a tunnel. It was very narrow so we all had to bend down quite a bit.
"Badger and me dug this. Comes out right near his place" he tells us
"You told me it lead to your mums!" Mrs. Beaver exclaims
I turn when I heard a groan from Lucy, I saw she had fallen to the ground. I quickly help her up
"Careful Lucy!" I tell her as we start moving again
Then we heard more growls.
"They're in the tunnel" Lucy whispers
"Quick this way! Hurry!" Mr. Beaver tells us
"Run" Peter tells us three
"Quick quick quick" I tell them as I was in the back of the group
Then the beavers stop letting out a gasp. The path in front of us was stuck by a wall.
"You should have brought a map!" Mrs. Beaver yells at him
"There wasn't room next to the jam!" He yells back
They quickly lead us down another path and we all climbed out at the end of it. Once everyone was out, beaver and Peter moved a heavy barrel in front of the entrance. We all turned when we heard Lucy gasp. She was staring wide eye at an animal who was turned to stone. Then we heard the beavers gasp.
"I'm so sorry dear" Mrs. Beaver tells him
"He was my best mate" he says
"What happened here?" Peter asks as I feel Lucy grab my hand
"This is what happens to those who cross the witch" a voice says from the woods as a fox comes into our view
"You take one more step traitor and I'll chew you to splinters!" Mr. Beaver tells the fox
"Relax I'm one of the good guys" he tells us
"Yeah? Well you look awful lot like one of those bad ones" Mr. Beaver tells him
"An unfortunate family resemblance. But we can argue breeding later. Right now we've got to move" he tells us
I pull Lucy closer when we hear the barking get louder, meaning they were a lot closer
"What do you have in mind?" Peter asks him
We watched as the wolves break out of the tunnel from the top of the tree which the fox told us to climb.
"Greetings gents. Lost something, have we?" The fox asks them
"Don't patronize me! I know where your allegiance lies. We're looking for some humans" the wolf tells him
"Humans? Here in Narnia? That's a valuable bit of information, don't you think?" The fox chuckles
But the wolf quickly bites the foxes neck, causing him to cry out in pain
"Your reward is your life. It's not much but still. Where are the fugitives?" The wolf asks
"North. They ran north" the fox tells them after staying silent for a second
"Smell them out" the wolf says before they run off
After we knew it was clear we all jumped down. We started a fire as Mrs. Beaver cleaned the foxes wound.
"They were helping Thomas. The witch got here before I could. Ow!" The fox whines
"Are you all right?" Lucy asks him
"Well I wish I could say their bark was worse than their bite" he tells her
"Stop squirming! You're worse than beaver on bath day" Mrs. Beaver sighs
"Worst day of the year" he groans
"Thank you for your kindness, but that's all the cure I have time for" he tells us
"You're leaving?" Lucy asks sadly
"It has been a pleasure, my Queen, and an honor, but time is short and Aslan himself has asked me to gather more troops" he tells us
"You've seen Aslan? What's he like?" Mr. Beaver asks
"Like everything we've ever heard. You'll be glad to have him by your side in the battle against the witch" the fox says
"But we're not planning on fighting any witch" Susan tells him
"But surely, King Peter, and High Queen Cora, the prophecy!" He exclaims, I look over at the rest of them to see if they caught onto the 'high Queen' part, but at the looks on their faces they didn't
"We can't go to war without you" Mr. Beaver tells us
"We just want to have our brother back" Peter tells them
But something else inside was telling me we had to, and that we needed to.
