"Jadis, the Queen of Narnia!" A dwarf yells as she rides into our camp
"Go away witch!" People in the crowd yell
"Empress of the Lone Islands!" The dwarf yells as they ignore the people yelling
I watch as she walks up towards Aslan until they were face to face.
"You have a traitor in your midst Aslan" she tells him as people in the crowd gasp and Edmund hangs his head low
"His offense was not against you" Aslan tells her
"Have you forgotten the laws upon which Narnia was built?" She asks him
"Do not cite the Deep Magic to me witch. I was there when it was written" he tells her
"Then you'll remember well that every traitor belongs to me. His blood is my property" she tells him
Peter quickly takes out his sword
"Try and take him then" he tells her
"Do you really think that mere force will deny me my right, little king? Aslan knows that unless I have blood, as the law demands, all of Narnia will be overturned and perish in Fire and Water" she tells him
Then she points at Edmund
"That boy will die on the stone table as is tradition" she says and I quickly step in front of Edmund
"You dare not refuse me" the witch glares at Aslan
"Enough. I shall talk to you alone" he tells her
Aslan turns around as the witch follows behind him, until they disappear into the tent.
We waited for what felt like forever, we all ended up sitting on the ground picking the grass as a distraction.
We all stood up quickly when the tent curtains open. The witch walks out with a smirk on her face, then Aslan walks out after her, with a face I could not read.
"She has renounced her claim on the son of Adam's blood" Aslan announces as the crowd breaks into a cheer
"How do I know your promise will be kept?" The witch asks him
Aslan just roars loudly with his sharp teeth showing, causing the witch's face to fill with fear as she sits down, then her people carry her away.
The crowd erupted in cheers as she walks off. I give Edmund a hug before my attention was turned to Aslan walking away with almost a sad look on his face.
When no one was paying much attention I spilled away to find Aslan.
"Aslan?" I ask walking past a big tree to see him sitting on the ground alone.
"Come dear one" he says and I sit down next to him
"What's wrong? What happened? Why did the witch renounce her claim, what do you agree to?" I ask him quickly
"I knew out of the five, you would be the one to realize something was wrong" he says chuckling softly
"I've learned to read faces, even though yours was hard to read" I laugh
"I know dear one" he laughs
"So what happened?" I ask him again
"I've taken Edmund's place" he tells me after a few seconds of silence
"What?" I ask panic filling my face
"You must trust me on this, she wouldn't have renounced it any other way." he says
"I trust you. I'm sorry, it's my fault, if I would've stopped Edmund in the first place non of this would've happened, I said I would protect them and I didn't-" I start to rant
"No my child. You couldn't have stopped any of this. Everything happens for a reason, remember this" he tells me
"Thank you Aslan, for believing in me" I cry as I grab onto him
"Now is the time you believe in yourself. Go rest up dear. You'll need plenty of rest for what will tomorrow bring" he tells me as I finally let go of him and wipe my tears. I give him a small smile and nod before walking back to my tent.
I lay my head down as I try to fall asleep. Thinking about what might come tomorrow. I see a figure of a lion walking past my tent and I instantly knew it was happening. I bring my knees up to my chest as tears flow out of my eyes. After he was gone I run out of my tent to the training field. I set up a wooden opponent which hand arms that swung.
"Éla" I say with my hand out
Then my sword comes flying towards me and I catch it with ease, and start swinging.
I practice for a few hours before I finally felt my body giving out. I walk back to my tent and lay down, sleep quickly overtaking me as my body was exhausted.
