WINNIE’S POV

Vis woke me up 1hour ago to get ready for my flight, I finished with everything and went done to the Livingroom just to have my family fuse over me. Steph was giving poppy eyes which is funny and at the same time irritating.

‘’Are you sure you wanna do this? i can just get your flight cancelled and I get you a job in the best company in new york’’. I internally rolled my eyes.

You all can guess who that was, Yeah you guessed right that was my dad trying to change my mind.

‘’I mean can you really do it? Staying alone for so long wont you miss me so much? You don’t have to go through all that shit just one word princess” and I was wrong I thought his previous statement was his finally attempt on getting me to stay, now I actually rolled my eyes with a smile.

‘’Oh stop being a baby she will be fine. Don’t try to discourage or guilt trip her’’ mom scolded.

My lovely mother she has always been supportive, always tried to make me feel better when I’m down. She is that classic mother that turns into a mother hen if she senses any threat on her kids.

‘’We all know that question is the other way round, like you will be the one missing her like crazy’’ France told him

‘’For real though’’ Kenny said

‘’We are all gonna miss you so much princess’’ Mavis supported, which everyone immediately agreed on.

‘’GROUP HUG’’ Steph screamed.

They all squeezed me in a tight hug then we headed to the airport. They all insisted on seeing me off to the airport. Honestly it was hard to say goodbye to my family but I only let the tears fall when I boarded the plane because I knew if they saw any tears they won’t let me.

I didn’t know when I slept off but I woke up to the announcement that the plane is about to land so I put on my sit belt.

Coming out from the airport I saw a man waving a cardboard with my full fucking name what the hell, I was still frozen when he came closer and introduced himself so my father sent him to pick me up and take me to the apartment.

I should have known he will get me a driver.

‘’So Marcus are you from around here?’’ I asked him

‘’No ma’am but I have been here with my family for 18 years’’

‘’Oh that’s nice, by the way please don’t call me ma’am call me Winnie’’

Having older people address me as ma’am is so weird I don’t like it. Marcus looks like he should be around he’s 50’s.

‘’Okay’’ he smiled

We got to the house and let me tell you this is anything but an apartment, it is a freaking luxurious pent house, I should have known my parents will do something like this.
Marcus helped me carry the bags inside and gave me a little tour which I really appreciate.

After Marcus left I called my family to let them know I got here safely, mom sounded so relieved, as much as she try to act tough and supportive about my decision I know she is really worried about me. Dad is still worried and asked me to call him directly the moment I start having a second thought. And my lovely brothers are already talking about visiting me. What do I do with these boys? I still love them though.

My family try so hard to protect me from the evil of the world, they try with everything to make me forget what happened in the past, I know that’s one of the reason my family shower me with so much love, gift, attention and a lot more. But I can’t seem to forget, I only cage the memory deep inside of me.

To the world my father and brothers are cold business tycoons but to me they are just a bunch of cute oversized teddy bear I went to the room to unpack, I took my bath after then I ordered takeout from one of the Italy restaurant apps Kenny installed for me. I ate and went to bed after setting my alarm for my interview tomorrow.
