The album "Insomniac " is so called because Billie Joe did not sleep at night. His son, Joey, cried all night long, thus Billie Joe could write a lot of songs.

Another version says that the name " Insomniac " was given when Billie Joe met for the first time the guy who took care of the cover of the CD (Winston Smith) to see what it was and as Billie joe found this really cool, he asked has Winston Smith, how long he crossed above and he answered approximately 36 hours and Billie Joe says " Guy you should to be tired " and Winston Smith answered " Not really I am a kind of insomniac ".
