Naruto P.O.V
"Ye-" I tried to answer.
"Who's asking?" Neji intervened rudely.
"Wow I didn't expect someone dressed like you to be so snappy." The guy replied.
"And I didn't expect people in this day and age didn't know it's rude to interrupt others when they're having a conversation." Neji pointed out while tilting his head to the side.
"..."
"Didn't expect a reply like that, did you?"
"I'm not here to fight. I'm here to speak to Naruto." He replied.
"Well I'm his best friend and I'm speaking to him now. So I'll have to kindly ask you to leave us to converse in private."
"No problem." He glared, but before he walked away he locked eyes with me. It was like he was judging me. I was beginning to wonder if Fang told him something about me.
"Oh my Kaguya. People are so disrespectful. How can you just judge someone based on how they dress." Neji complained.
"You didn't have to answer him so rudely."
"That wasn't rude. Naruto, just because I defend what I feel is right doesn't make it rude. Besides, you can't always allow people to do as they please, or they'll take advantage of you. It might even change your own mindset. If he considers it rude then that's his problem cause he started it."
"I think that was Fang's boyfriend."
"Huh?" Neji asked with shock in his eyes. "Fang's what?"
"Don't bother panicking. I don't think he's official boyfriend, but someone he has sex with regularly."
"That doesn't make me feel any better, Naruto."
"You're the one that wanted to choke him while he slept haha."
"Haha, if I had known it was him I wouldn't have even stepped in the room. I'm not suicidal." He replied. "But forget all that. You said something about Sasuke and marriage. What's up with that?"
"Oh yeah! Before I left for college I heard Sasuke and my parents talking about him proposing to me after I graduate." I beamed.
"Yay?"
"Dude, be more optimistic."
"That's as much optimism as I'm giving you. Is this why you're doing this? So you can marry with Sasuke?"
"No, it's not just that. I'm doing this for my parents as well."
"Would your parents want you to stay with a bad boy as a roommate?"
"No, but I don't have another choice. I won't be able to get a room for myself, and like I said I'm capable of handling myself with him. Fang, hasn't seriously hurt me in anyway." I replied.
"Yet."
"Neji..." I begged.
"Sigh alright. I'll trust you with this one. Just make sure you don't over exhaust yourself pretending to me someone else for the benefit of other people. You need to start controlling your own life, Naruto."
"I promise. No stress until the wedding."
"I'm not coming to that by the way."
"Yes you are. I don't care if you dislike Sasuke. You're coming."
"Sure." He replied sarcastically.
"I'll drag you by your hair if I have too."
"Always trying to threaten my hair haha." He laughed.
We spent the rest of the morning chatting and walking around the campus. It reminded me of our high school days and I was really happy to have him around again. But he had to leave in the afternoon and I had to get some rest for medical class tonight.
So I walked him to the gate and wished him safe travels as he drove off for his ten hour car ride. I'm glad he came, but from some reason my mind went back to Sasuke.
I've been thinking about him a little less than usual, but I know it's just from all the work I've been doing, but I still love him with all my heart.
•••
I walked back up to my dorm room and opened the door to see Kiba on the ground doing push-ups. Unfortunately he had only his underwear on, but it was better than nothing.
"You're back." He called putting without looking up.
"Mhm." I hummed.
"Great! There's something I wanted to ask you."
"I'm not really interested in having pointless conversations with you."
"Don't talk to me like I'm your teacher, Naruto."
"Don't talk to me at all." I shrugged while walking over to my bed. Once I tried to climb on top of it, I flinched at the pain that shot up my back. That's when I remembered that he pushed me against the doorknob last night.
"What are you looking at?" I asked.
"Why do you act like that?" He smiled.
"Act like what?"
"Like you're better than everyone else."
"I don't act like that."
"Really? Then you assuming I was a thief, bully and property destroyer was based on what?"
"It was just a hunch."
"Really? It wasn't because of how I looked?" He asked, taking a step closer to me.
"No." I lied.
"Nor how I behaved?"
"No" I lied, as I tried to pretend I was focusing on organizing my books for my next class. By this time Fang was already standing right next to my bed I pretended like he wasn't, for obvious reasons.
"Fang stop it!" I tried as he snatched my book from me and pulled it behind him. I reached for it but stopped when my face was almost an inch away from his.
"Then what is it?" He asked lowly with a smirk. Instantly I leaned back and looked at his somewhat intensifying expression.
I don't know why, but I suddenly felt threatened by him. Even more than when he attacked me last night.
"Fine!" I gave up. "It is because of how you look. Your whole behavior, personality, style and habits just scream delinquent. Yes, you do things that you can later justify to be innocent but I can't fully believe you're a good guy."
"So you do speak the truth?" He teased.
"Ugh! You're also a flirting asshole."
"An asshole you can't get enough of."
"Ew! Be careful with what you say because I have a boyfriend."
"You speak about this boyfriend a lot yet I can't see him. I don't even hear you secretly speaking to him at night." He replied, placing my book back down and taking a seat on the edge of my bed.
"That!" I yelled, pushing him off my bed. "Just so happens to be none of your business."
"Sure you have one, or is it just a lie to hide the fact you have feelings for me?" He suggested.
"As if." I replied while rolling my eyes in amusement. "Your dog breath is repulsive."
"Haha." He chuckled lightly. "Kit, you can try to push me away all you want. It'll only make you crave me more."
"As if I'd be attracted to a delinquent like you." I retorted.
"Coming from 'The Fraud' himself? I'd think so." He smiled.
"Whatever." I sighed, shaking my head in annoyance. "And for your information my boyfriend is on my lock screen. Thought you'd know considering the fact that you went to our school and also like to plug my phone in without my permission."
"That's your boyfriend? With how you two pose I thought he was your brother." He laughed.
"Well he's not. He's actually a gentleman, but a dog like you wouldn't know anything about how to treat a guy with love." I pointed out.
"I've fucked a lot of guys, and girls. I may not be an uptight guy like your boyfriend, or you, in a fraudulent way, but I express love differently." He replied.
"Congratulations. How's the road to AIDS coming along for you?" I teased.
"Haha I like your sense of humor. It's just as cute and sassy as you are." He chuckled as he shook my chin and turned around. That's when I took an accidental glance at his butt in his tight underwear.
"Damn he's really nicely built." I thought. "No wonder he's such a sex addict."
"Also I found your little picture of me shirtless and covered in bandages." He announced while putting on a pair of black sweatpants. "If you wanted nudes you could've just asked."
"Fuc-" I paused before answering. I had to keep it professional I couldn't allow him to think I was acting anymore. Even though I was. "Don't flatter yourself."
"When it comes to you I have too hehe." He chuckled as he threw on a sleeveless red top. That showed off his toned arms and broad chest nicely. Though I diverted my eyes when I realized I was admiring him a little too much.
"Glad to know you still snoop through my stuff."
"It's not snooping if you put it right on top of your suitcase."
"It is being nosey."
"Haha we've passed that stage in our relationship already." He replied. I don't know why but that sentence made me feel tense for some reason.
Fang walked over to the fridge and took out a bottle of beer once again and begin drinking it. Yet he complained about having a headache earlier. I was beginning to wonder if he was an alcoholic at this point. That fridge was always stacked to the brim with beer.
"I'll be at a party again. So I won't be back until tonight." He announced. "Try not to miss me."
"Don't worry about." I replied. "Try not to come back drunk this time, or better yet don't come back at all."
"I won't consider it." He winked with a toothy grin before opening the door and exciting the room. "Bye Kit."
I finally had some peace and quiet for myself. Today was really something else though. Neji visited me, I found out more about Fang and we actually had a somewhat decent conversation. Though I couldn't shake the thought of his boyfriend wanting to talk to me earlier.
That and Neji's warning. Fang didn't seem really violent to me. As if on cue though the pain in my back started thumping reminding me that he can definitely be a little rough sometimes, but still not violent.
I decided to study a bit more until I eventually fell asleep. Today was new class that I had to be ready for though I was beginning to feel exhausted by it all, but it was all going to be worth it.
•••
Later that night I was studying for a my new class which had to do which was Spanish. It was really complicated and hard to understand given the fact I've never been exposed to this type of language. Dad knows it to some extent to hold a conversation, I couldn't speak it to save my life.
I'd call him for help, but it was too late. Besides any minute now Fang would walk through that door and I didn't want them to know about him.
"Let's see..." I focused. "If a patient says 'tengo calor'. What would be your response?" (I feel hot)
"Tengo calor? What is that?" I asked myself. "Is it 'Como Estas'?" (How are you?)
"Oh my Kaguya!"I groaned while caressing my temples. This was definitely gonna be a long night.
The sound of the door knob rattling caught my immediate attention which made things even worse because here comes Mr. Trouble himself to annoy me while I'm already annoyed by this.
"Look Fang. I'm studying so none of the foolishness tonight, okay?" I began not even giving him a chance to answer as he briskly walked into the room and to the bathroom without his top on.
"Where's the first aid kit!" He yelled as he came back out with something wrapped in his shirt.
"It's right here, and why are you yelling?" I asked. "Also why do you need the first aid kit?"
"No time to answer that just bring it to me, please!" He begged in a hurry. I've never seen him like this before so fidgety and serious.
I quickly grabbed the first aid kit on my nightstand and ran to the bathroom with him. He placed his shirt on the counter and unwrapped it. To my surprise, it was little white puppy.
"Where'd you get that?!" I asked.
"No time for that." He rushed. "Just help me with this."
"I'm not touching that thing. It's filthy and has fleas." I defended.
"Naruto! I'm not going to argue with you. Just help me out here, please." He begged in an aggressive tone. Though I was more shocked to here him say please as he frantically wiped the dog with a paper towel. It was boy and it definitely looked like it was exhausted as it shivered on the counter top.
"He's cold." I announced.
"He was injured in an attack. I saw him just in time before any total damage could be done to him." He advised me as he opened a bandage.
"Wait! I need to know what happened. You can't put that on him while he's dirty." I warned him.
"What!? Um he was bitten on his left leg. It might be sprained or broken, but he's definitely bleeding a little bit." He explained.
"Okay, fine you was off the infected area. We don't want bacteria to enter his wound. I'll heat up a towel and get the scissors. We'll have to give him a whole bath." I hurried.
"Okay and there's leftover meat in the fridge. Just heat it up as well and let it cool in the meantime with some milk." He yelled.
"Okay I got it!" I replied.
I ran to the living room and pulled out my towel, folded sit and plopped it into the microwave. Before running back to the bathroom with a pair of scissors. Fang had already set the water for the dog and was ready to clean him. I asked him to hold the dog so I could quickly remove the fur from his leg with the scissors.
It took a while but I finished just in time as the microwave stopped.
"Okay, done. Bathe him and I'll go heat up the food." I ordered.
"Alright." Fang replied as he gazed at me. Though I didn't mind at all.
I took out the towel and placed it on the bathroom counter. I looked into the fridge and pulled out the plate of meat Fang instructed me to heat up, and poured out a small bowl of milk to try an acquire a room temperature.
After that I went back to the bathroom to see Fang cautiously drying the dog. He made cooing sound at the dog most like in an attempt to calm him down as he was still shivering. Then he began to nurse the wound. The dog whelped as he applied the antibiotic solution to his wound. That's when I noticed Fang had cuts on his arms and some on his face as well.
So while he was nursing the dog. I unconsciously began to nurse his wounds. Kneeling down next to him I used alcohol to treat his wounds.
"Ahh" He whined lowly while furrowing his eyebrows.
"Don't be a baby." I smiled as I held his chin and carefully dabbed the cuts once again.
He nursed his wound and wrapped it tightly with my pencil to keep it straight, just in case he had broken a bone or fractured his leg. I was actually surprised by how much he knew about caring for animals. He treated it like it was his baby.
We finished and fed the puppy the meat and allowed it to drink some of the milk. Despite shivering and being exhausted the little guy actually ate a lot. I heated the towel again for him and he fell asleep into a little ball on Fang's lap while he sat on the couch stroking him.
Fang continued to coo at the puppy to comfort him. It was actually kind of mesmerizing if you ask me. The way he just sprung into father mode when it came to comforting the little guy.
"What?" He asked with smile.
"Huh? Oh nothing. I was just finishing my work." I lied while laughing nervously.
"You sure about that cause I could've sworn you were looking at me." He smirked.
"Fine! I was looking."
"Ha! Liar." He chuckled. "So why you looking at me, Kit?"
"Well... I just didn't expect a big 'bad boy' like you to be cooing at a puppy and stroking it with your shirt off."
"I stroke things with my shirt off all the time." He joked, making me roll my eyes in slight amusement.
"I'm kidding." He replied. "I'm not a monster, you know? I do have other decent qualities about me."
"Could've fooled me." I teased.
"Haha okay. So what about you?" He asked.
"What about me?"
"You went full ER in there. What you're a doctor now?" He teased.
"Ha ha very funny, Fang. But if you must know I'm studying Medicine. It's the whole reason I'm here." I advised him.
"Woah! You're studying medicine?!"
"Yup, and Law."
"The medicine part shocks me, but I think the lawyer part suits you well."
"Really?"
"Yeah, lawyers are liars."
"Haha thanks for the encouraging words." I replied sarcastically.
"Haha."
"So what about you?" I replied, somewhat interested in knowing why he's here.
"About me?"
"Yeah, you study medicine as well? You were pretty knowledgeable with how you treated the puppy."
"No, but my dad was a veterinarian. He'd take care of animals of all shapes and sizes. Especially little ones like this guy." He explained. "I was just there to witness some of it."
"Oh that's actually impressive." I replied.
"Yeah..." He trailed, looking as though he was deep in thought. I wanted to stop, but I was somehow intrigued by finding out more about him.
"So what do you do here if you're not studying medicine?" I asked.
"Wouldn't you like to know?" He scuffed.
"It's just you party so much that I've never really seen you doing homework, or studying. Do you even own a backpack?"
"Can't see me with any of those things if I don't go to class." He chuckled.
"What! But you're a student here. You are a student here, right?"
"No I'm actually an escaped convict."
"Very funny, Fang."
"Haha shouldn't you know what I'm doing? I'm sure your friend told you everything about me."
"What?"
"Don't play dumb. I saw how he reacted after he knew my name. You can't tell me that he didn't go to our school either."
"He never told me anything about you?" I lied, while fiddling with my papers.
I heard footsteps approaching me and looked up to see Fang next to my bed with the puppy cradled in his arms while he pulled my paper away from me. I looked at him as he smiled at me and for some reason I smiled back.
"What's with the smile?" He asked curiously.
"Huh? Oh no reason."
"Keeping secrets from me, Kit?"
"I'm not!" I lied. "You just look fatherly with that little guy in your arms."
"You've never held anything like this?" He asked.
"No I'm an only child, and I've never had a pet."
"Strict family?"
"No, they're actually the most generous and amazing parents ever."
"Hm..." He replied. "What's this you're studying anyway?"
"Um it's Spanish. It's for my medical classes. I have to learn a foreign language and I choose Spanish because my dad knows a little bit of it."
"Well you're horrible at it." He replied while scanning my paper.
"As if you know anything." I replied after snatching the paper back from him.
"Se mucho mas que tu." He replied. I was so shocked that I covered my mouth at what I heard. For a second I thought someone who spoke Spanish was in the room.
"Oh my Kaguya! You speak Spanish? What did you just say?" I asked.
"Si, means yes, and I just said that I know a lot more than you." He explained. "Also como estas, means how are you, which wouldn't make sense if a patient told you that they're feeling hot."
I stared at him in disbelief as he stood there proudly. He didn't give off that type of quality to know another language.
"How-How did you even learn it?"
"Haha my family owns a business and the shareholders are with some people in Brazil. So growing up I learned the language." He replied.
That's when I got an idea. Fang seems to be willing to have personal conversations with me when it involves work, and since I'm struggling so much with this Spanish stuff. Maybe I could use it as a way to find out more about him.
"Fang, I'm actually struggling with my Spanish. Would you mind helping me with it?" I asked kindly.
"Wouldn't your boyfriend get mad if he saw you studying with another guy?" He teased.
"Ugh! No he's not like that he's-"
"Don't bother with the lecture. He's a gentleman, I get it." He interrupted. "I have time tomorrow to help you out. Don't expect anything from me though."
"We can start after my business classes finish. You'll be able to get that little guy a home in the meantime."
"Home?"
"Yeah, you weren't planning on keeping him were you?"
"Of course I'm keeping him. We've already established a bound with each other." He smiled.
"But keeping a pet in the dorm is against the rules." I warned as he walked over to his bed and placed the puppy on it.
"It doesn't matter. I'm on my last strike anyway." He replied.
"Last strike? What does that mean?" I asked.
"Nothing, but Akamaru is staying." He announced.
"Akamaru?"
"Yeah, that's his new name. You like it?"
"It's a cool name but Fang you can't keep a do-" I tried.
"Great! We'll talk to tomorrow." He replied dismissing the conversation.
"So I don't have a say?" I asked, but he didn't reply. "Okay fine. I'll just take my towel then."
I took a step off the bed and flinched at the pain that travelled up back again. Immediately I kneeled down to the floor with a low groan and held the injured area. By the time I looked back up, Fang was already standing in front of me.
"What's wrong with you?" He asked as he helped me up.
"Like you wouldn't know. That night I put bandages on you. You pushed me into the door and my back hit the doorknob."
"I don't remember that."
"You were drunk out of your mind."
"..." He paused and looked at me with an unreadable expression. "Let me see it."
"What? No!" I declined.
"Have you looked at it?" He asked.
"No but-"
"But nothing, turn around and let me see the damage that I've done, or I'll make you turn around." He said in a serious tone.
I rolled my eyes at his empty threat, but turned around and pulled up the back of my shirt, allowing him to see. I was really nervous for some reason, especially when he kneeled down and held my waist firmly. The touch sent a shiver up my spine as I've never been held there like this before.
Not even by Sasuke.
"It's a little pink, but some alcohol should help. Hold your shirt up." He instructed me before walking over to the fridge and pulling out a bottle of beer.
"What are you doing with that?" I asked.
"I told you it'll help."
"How is beer going to help my-AH!" I yelped at the intrusion of the icy bottle against my bruise.
"Does it help?" He asked in amusement.
"It's cold!" I spat while bobbing on my feet.
"Don't move like that. Your ass clapping together like that will get you something between them." He teased.
"Hey!" I began.
"I'm kidding haha. Don't overreact, and don't fart in my face either."
"No promises." I smirked.
"Kinky for farts huh?"
"Ew! No what is wrong with you!?"
"Haha I'm kidding, but that should be it for now." He replied after removing the bottle from my back.
"Sorry about hurting you, and here's something to make it better." He finished, next thing I knew I felt a pair of lips against my back and jumped at the feeling.
"Hey!" I responded abruptly.
"Haha I'm not sorry about that one."
"My boyfriend is gonna be upset about that one."
"Your fault for telling him. It's not my fault you're hot." He defended while raising his arms in the air.
While he walked back to his bed I looked at his back tattoo and had the chance to see it more clearly from the light in the room. What did it mean though?
I had some many things I wanted to know about this him. What he meant by his last strike, what course he did, if that guy is his boyfriend. So many questions and I felt confident that I'd find them all out with my new plan.
"Goodnight Kit." He yawned as he turned off the lights crawled into bed next to Akamaru.
"Goodnight, Fang." I replied as I laid on my side and looked at him with a smile on my face.
