Naruto P.O.V
The rising of the Sun was always a sight I hated to see. It was the beginning of new day, but to me it was just that one source of light that didn't allow me to just sleep in. How could anyone possibly bare this everyday was unclear to me.
I had woken up an hour earlier before the rising. It was a big day for me and I had to act as such.
Truthfully, going to college was an exciting thing for me. I just wished I didn't have to wake up so early to go there. It wasn't like there was a specific time that I had to be there either.
"Naruto, wake up! You don't want to be late for school!" My mother called.
One of the three people whose opinion I value the most. Also the reasons why I have to be up this early.
"I'm already awake." I replied as I opened my bedroom door. "I'll be down soon."
"Alright sweetie!" She replied.
"Don't be too long." My dad added.
"I won't!" I promised.
Immediately I went over to my suitcase and ensured certain items were hidden that they couldn't spot if they decided to just take a look inside. These items included my secret MP3 player, secret photo album, secret camera and my older clothes.
I had to hide these things or it would risk my parents chances of having the perfect child. I'll be honest, my earlier years in high school weren't so innocent. I was a troublemaker, in the worst possible way too.
Anger issues, loitering, skipping school, failing classes, pulling pranks, arguing with teacher and even starting fights. The whole works, that was me. The bipolar school clown clone.
They used to call me, Fox. Because I was so cunning and mischievous. However, before my final year of high school, and with the help of my parents. I was able to turn a new leaf.
While quietly making my way downstairs I could see my parents standing at the front door and trying to contain themselves from smiling. They had a surprise for me, I found out about it last night when I was snooping around. Can't tell them I was doing that though.
"What's going on here?" I asked, acting as if I didn't know.
"Nothing in particular. We just wanted to watch you come down the stairs for the last t-time." Mom smiled, her voice cracking at the end signifying she was getting emotional.
"Kushina..." Dad trailed, rubbing circles in her back.
"It's fine, Minato." She assured. "My hair is just a little spicy today I guess." We chuckled at her remark before they continued.
"I think what your mother is trying to say is, we're proud of you for reaching this milestone in your life. We almost thought that you'd never get to it, but before the end you pulled through and made us proud." Dad announced before pulling the blinds for the curtains to reveal the sign they made.
"Congratulations Naruto. We love you." Mom said along with the words on the sign.
This is why I made the decision to change myself. The old me wouldn't have made them proud, he'd be a disappointment. Only a reason for them to hide the fact that I'm their child.
This is why no matter what, I had to keep acting the part they needed to see. I've already given them too many burdens to deal with in the past. The least I can do now is make them happy for once.
"Thank you so much you guys. I really appreciate this set up. I completely wasn't expecting this."
"We were hoping you wouldn't. We tried really hard hiding this one." Dad boasted.
"You guys did great haha."
"Ohh my little boy is now a big man and will be attending college. I couldn't be any happier." Mom squealed while squeezing my cheeks.
"Kushina, don't make his cheeks any puffier. A future lawyer doesn't need to be cute." Dad said, removing her hands from my face.
"You meant future doctor." Mom corrected.
"I know what I meant." He winked. " A future doctor wouldn't be wearing my old college suit."
"Whatever you say. Doctors can dress professionally too." She teased.
This was the conflict. I didn't know what career path to go through. Dad wanted me to be a lawyer, but mom wanted me to be a doctor. The thing is I'd rather be neither, but I can't say that to them after everything I've done.
I'd rather dabble in photography if I'm being honest. The world is such a big and exciting place and I'd love to explore and capture every bit of it.
Maybe I could be a traveling medical lawyer. Defend clients by day and perform operations by night while traveling to the different destinations.
"Naruto, stand straight and stop staring into space. It'll give you silly ideas." Mom ordered.
"Right."
"It's yes mom. Remember always address the person you're speaking too." She corrected.
"Righ- Yes mom!"
"That's my gentleman." She smiled.
I still wasn't perfect at being perfect, but I was still determined to keep it up.
"Speaking of gentleman. I think we forgot to give you another surprise." Dad announced as he moved back to the door. This was a surprise I was completely unaware of so when I saw him invite the person I was actually surprised.
"Sasuke!" I cheered before running up to him and wrapping my arms around him.
"Woah! Someone's getting clingy." He chuckled.
Instinctively I released him and blushed while facing my parents who shared a smirk on their faces. One of the changes they were happy with was when I managed to find a guy like Sasuke. When it came to mannerism and behavior, he was the professional at that.
He's apart of a very wealthy family who thrive in a number of businesses. We met in high school around the time I started to change. Ever since then he's been my boyfriend and my parents are very, very, very happy with him.
"I just missed you." I admitted. He had stared college earlier than me in another part of town. So he was very busy and we didn't get to spend a lot of time together.
Thus why this surprise got me.
"Naruto..." Mom called and playfully pulled me over to her.
"Give him a little space. Don't smother him just yet." She whispered happily.
I must admit. I don't know what a guy like Sasuke was doing with me, but I was definitely head over heels in love with him and I just know he feels the same.
"I just had to come over and see my boyfriend off to his first college experience. Your parents came up with the plan and I suggested the idea." Sasuke announced.
"Really? But isn't your school like on the other side of Konoha?" I asked.
"Yes. I had to drive all night to get here. But it was definitely worth it." He replied while smiling at me.
My heart pounded like a drum when we locked eyes. He was so charming and sexy. If it wasn't for the fact that I had to maintain a certain image, I would've offered my body to him. However, he wasn't the type of guy to get that intimate with their significant other.
Believe me. I've subtly tried on numerous occasions.
"You two are so cute together." Mom beamed. "I should take a picture."
"Kushina..." Dad trailed as he gently grabbed her by the hand and twirled her back around. "You're the one smothering them now."
"Haha my apologizes." She blushed.
"None taken." Sasuke agreed. "It's an honor to win your approval for having this wonderful guy in my life. My family and I absolutely love him."
I was actually taken back by Sasuke's words. He's never really been the one to express his feelings about me like that, even if it was in front of my parents. He's always been too shy or says that it's "inappropriate".
Thus why I'm surprised he confessed such a thing.
"You hear that Naruto?" Mom teased. "He's a keeper."
"Haha I heard mom. I'll keep it mind." I replied while looking fondly at Sasuke.
"I hope you do. Speaking of which, I like your suit." Sasuke complimented. "It makes you look professional and sophisticated."
"Haha well you can thank me for that." Dad boasted. "Also, it's not the suit that makes the man, it's the wearer."
"More like the other way around." I thought to myself.
"Well he's quite the man." Sasuke smiled.
"Isn't it almost time to leave?" I asked getting flustered by all the undeserving attention.
"Oh right!" Dad remembered. "We better head upstairs and get your stuff."
"No it's fine. I can get them myself." I stopped him. "You guys have done more than enough for me."
"Are you sure, sweetie?" Mom asked.
"Of course. It's the least I can do, ya know."
"Okay, sweetie." She allowed. " And Naruto?"
"Yes mom?"
"Remember your habit. It's not always acceptable so be careful about when you use it." She reminded me.
"Yes mom." I replied before heading upstairs and retrieving my belongings.
Part of the reason why I didn't want them coming up here is because they'd want to search my suitcase and see if I had everything I needed, and that was a big NO. That and I also knew that they'd engage in a conversation with Sasuke, and for old time sake I wanted to do a little eavesdropping.
So I sneaked to the stair case and squatted on the first step. This was always my secret spot for eavesdropping on their conversation. It's even how I found out that I was at risk of being expelled.
"Sasuke we're so happy that you could accompany us on taking Naruto to college." Mom expressed.
"It's my pleasure. Besides my family would have thrown a fit if I didn't. They really adore him a lot." Sasuke replied.
"So I've heard. Mikoto and I never stop talking about how much we adore each other's sons." She replied.
"And I have to listen to all of it." Dad sighed.
They irrupted into a small fit of laughter before Sasuke spoke again.
"Good one Mr. Uzumaki." He laughed. "But I must be honest with both of you. There's another reason I actually wanted to accompany you guys."
"What's that reason?" Dad asked.
"To ask you about how you'd feel if I proposed to Naruto after he finishes college." Sasuke revealed.
I literally froze as the whole place suddenly became silent. It was like time had stopped for a moment and Sasuke's confession kept replaying in my head, over and over again.
"Was he serious? A guy like him proposing to me. Someone who pretends to be like him." I wondered.
"Oh my Kaguya! It's beautiful!" Mom cheered. "How could Mikoto no tell me about this?"
"I wanted to be the first to inform both families." Sasuke replied. "It's an eight carat."
"Wow! That must've been expensive." Dad replied.
"He's worth it." Sasuke replied.
"Is he showing them the ring?" I thought.
"Oh! I'm getting too excited I better go up and help Naruto get ready before I start dancing around." Mom announced.
I quickly moved from the staircase and went back into my room. Grabbing each of my bags and ensuring I had everything before turning around to face my mom who wasn't doing a great job of hiding her excitement.
"Um Naruto? Are you okay up here? Is everything finished?" She asked, basically grinning her face off.
"Definitely. I was just reminiscing on the memories." I lied.
"Awe, sweetie you don't need to reminisce on anything. Before you know it it'll be winter break and you'll be here with us again." She assured.
"That is true." I agreed.
Truthfully, I was too excited to leave to already miss home. The freedom of being around people who I don't know me, having my own space to indulge in my older habits and taking the time out to figure out how to be the grown man that my parents and Sasuke deserves.
"We should get going then. We wouldn't want to keep the others waiting." She advised.
We went downstairs and gathered my dad and Sasuke. After getting asked for the fifteen hundredth time if I had everything, we exited the house. Dad helped me carry my bags while mom waited for him in their car and Sasuke was already sitting in his waiting for me.
"Alright!" Dad grunted after packing the last bag in Sasuke's car and closing the trunk. "We're all set."
"Thanks dad."
"No need to thank me yet. You're my son and I'll always be here to help you out." He advised me.
"I'll keep that in mind."
"You better." He joked. "Now get inside the car. We'll be leading you guys to the school."
"Alright."
Dad walked away to the family car and opened the door for mom who waited for him before getting in himself. I turned to look at Sasuke sitting in the car on his phone and rolled my eyes.
"Guess I'll get the door myself." I thought. Even when I entered the vehicle he didn't take a single look at me. Only texting away on his phone.
"You seem busy." I said breaking the silence.
"Huh? Oh yeah. It's a class assignment. I was texting the teacher to find out the instructions." He replied.
"Oh, okay. Totally understandable."
"Why wouldn't it be?"
"Nothing. I was just thinking something else." I replied, laughing to dismiss the conversation.
The sound of my dad honking his horn saved me from whatever he was about to ask. It's not that I was suspicious, but it's weird how he finds time to text his teacher about instruction. Yet I can't hear a single word from him for days.
It made me jealous if I'm being honest.
Both vehicles were off and I remained silent while riding with Sasuke. He wasn't much of a talker himself either. So he turned on the radio to listen to classical music, which I absolutely hate.
"This is your favorite song, right?"
"Yes, by the singer Konan. I love her and all classical music artists." I lied.
"I know. That's what I like about you. You have an amazing ear for good music."
"Of course. It's one of the only few genres worth listening too." I lied.
"If you're over the age of thirty and rich." I thought.
"Naruto?" He called.
"Yes, Sasuke?" I blushed, enjoying the sound of him calling my name.
"About this whole college thing." He began while keeping his eyes on the road. "I want you to behave yourself throughout the whole thing."
"Behave myself?"
"Yeah, be courteous, well mannered, professional, goal oriented and punctual. These things are really important for me, your parents and my family."
"Is this because of the proposal?" I wondered.
"I'm already all those things. It shouldn't be hard for me to continue do so." I reassured.
"I know, Naruto." He replied. "But this time I need you to be perfect. You understand, right?
I felt as though he was trying to hint at something, but I couldn't figure out what it could be. The way he said those words made it sound like it was our little secret. I was beginning to wonder if this had anything to do with the proposal, but that thought quickly left my mind.
"It's impolite to not answer when someone's speaking to you." He replied.
"Huh? Oh I'm sorry. I was just thinking about your request."
"Don't think of it as a request, but more so a demand." He clarified. "You mean the absolutely world to me, but I want my family to see the potential that I see in you. This is the only way how."
"His family? I guess this does involve the proposal. Did they think I wasn't acceptable enough to be with Sasuke?" I thought.
"Naru-" He tried, the hint of annoyance leaking from his voice.
"Yes. Yes, Sasuke. I'll be on my best behavior for not only our families, but the both of us too." I promised. "You mean the universe to me, and as long as you're happy, then I'm happy too. I love you that much."
"Thank you, Naruto." He smiled, making me blush all little bit with his beautiful smile.
"It's my pleasure." I replied, leaning closer to him. "But I'd like to make a little request as well."
"And what might that be, love?" He said with a low voice.
"YESSSS OWN ME UP SASUKE!!!" I thought while mentally dancing around.
"It'll be a while until we meet again. So I was wondering if we could hold hands while you drive." I revealed.
"Is that all?"
"Is it too much to ask for?" I smiled.
"Of course not. But I'll have to turn down that request because I'm driving. Any other time and it would've been a sure deal." He replied.
"Okay..." I sighed, sitting back fully in my chair.
"Don't pout." He ordered while placing his hand on my knee. "It'll make me sad."
"Are we about to fuck in this car? Cause I wasn't going to deny it." I thought as I stared at him his hand firmly on my knee.
Sasuke was never one to make sexual advances, but if there's some new practices he'd like to get into. Then I'd definitely participate with him.
"Good." He said patting my knee three times before removing his hand. Which of course was a disappointment for me.
However, I didn't let it bother me too much because at the end of the day I was going to be alone in my dorm. So right now, I wanted nothing but glorious memories with my boyfriend.
The ringing of his phone caught my attention. I was only able to look at it for a split second before he quickly picked it up and glanced at the screen.
"It's my professor calling back." He announced.
"Your professor's name is Sai?" I asked, remembering what I saw on the phone.
"Yeah, he's close to my family so I'm allowed to call him by his first name."
"Oh, okay." I said understanding what he meant and hoping I was close like that with a professor as well.
"Hello?" Sasuke answered happily.
"Of course I do. You know there's no doubt about that."
"Yeah I am."
"Me too."
"Oh really?" He smirked. "Well just send it to me and we'll talk about it later."
"Yeah I'm still driving."
"Yeah, okay. You know I do too. Talk to you later, Sai."
"Alright." He replied before hanging up with a smile on his face. Yet, he didn't place his phone back down between us, but instead on his side of the car.
"Judging from your smile I should guess your class assignment is good?" I asked fondly while smiling with him.
"Huh? Oh yeah! He's sending me a picture of it so I'll be able to talk about it with him later when I get back to the campus." He informed me.
"Really? You guys really are close. What course does he teach?" I asked.
"Human Anatomy."
"Oh I didn't know you took that course. I thought you only focused on the business aspects."
"Well, I wanted to surprise you by doing something similar to your medical course. But you ruined it."
"Oh no! I'm sorry I didn't know." I pouted.
"It's fine haha. Just take time with all the questions before I tell you something I'm not supposed too." He smiled.
"Like you proposing to me after graduation. Just fucking tell me and let me be even more happy."
"I wouldn't want that." I lied.
"Me either." He replied.
After a few hours we sat quietly while classical music echoed throughout the car. He kept his eyes firmly on my parent's car while I was trying my best not to stop the music and throw the radio out the window.
Luckily the classical music session ended.
"Alright our lucky listeners. We've come to the end of our eighties and nineties classical music playlist for today. Because a listener from Konoha University requested a pop classic for you today." The radio person announced.
"Yes! Finally a genre that doesn't make me feel like sucking on raisins." I mentally cheered.
"I hate that genre so much. It's mostly filled with tasteless songs." Sasuke sighed.
"Ugh, I couldn't agree more." I lied.
"The requested song is Dog Motion by Inumaru." The announcer revealed.
"Oh shit! That song is soooo good." I thought.
As soon as the song started I had to prepare myself to sit still while the music literally tried to take control of me. This wasn't just any ordinary pop song. It was a very, very, very sexual pop song.
So sexual that I couldn't even believe they were playing it on the radio. However, just because I couldn't sing it verbally didn't mean I wasn't singing it in my head.
"Baby, when I get you all alone. I'm gonna prove all the things I said on the phone. When you get here don't bother getting dressed up. Cause it's going down and they're gonna messed up."
"Bring your body over here. Let me lay you down low. Move that body in a slow motion I want my big buddy to know."
"That it's going down. When I got you on your hands and knees. Don't close your legs, baby please. Just bend over and arch your back damn you'll be giving me a heart attack."
"In this dog position, I'm gonna make moan. In this dog position, baby don't run just take it slow. In this dog position, I'm not coming for now so enjoy the show. Cause baby in this dog position."
"Baby you're gonna get owned." I sang in my mind while keeping a straight face, but with this song and Sasuke next to me. I'd just enjoy being cuddled right now.
"Could you turn that off Naruto? I don't want it corrupting your mind. This song is absolutely inappropriate." Sasuke demanded.
"Okay." I obeyed." It really was a bad song. I don't even know what kind of lyrics those were. I couldn't understand a thing."
"This is why I like you." He smiled which of course made me blush once more.
"Awe Sasuke. I love you t-" I tried.
-VROOMMMM-
"WHAT THE FU-" I jolted but stopped myself from cursing when a bike drove passed us and almost made Sasuke swerve off the road. "I mean WHAT IN TARNATION."
"Ugh it's that biker guy. He almost killed us." Sasuke replied looking ahead and trying to calm his nerves. "This is why I hate those things. They're nothing but inconvenience to actually drivers."
"But why'd he over take us like that?" I asked while placing my hand against my chest.
"I have no idea, but for his sake he better have a good lawyer." Sasuke threatened.
"Wait! There he is on the other side of the road." I replied, pointing to the side going in the opposite direction to us.
"Great what's he up to now." He mumbled.
The biker drove on the other side of the road until he spotted us, most likely due to Sasuke driving an expensive car in this part of town. He drove through a line of traffic cones and came back on our side. Next thing I knew he was speeding up to us.
"He's coming back to us." I informed him.
"Ignore him." Sasuke ordered. "He's just seeking attention. Don't give him what he wants and he'll leave."
I followed his instructions and sat in my seat while looking straight ahead. I don't think my parents noticed him and judging by the road I knew we were close to the campus. If we had driven fast we would've gotten there sooner.
The biker drove up to Sasuke's side and matched his speed with ours. He leaned forward on his bike and tapped on Sasuke's window. Obviously Sasuke didn't react to it and only kept driving as if nothing was wrong.
I did too at first, but curiosity got the best of me and I took a tiny peek.
The biker was still focused on getting Sasuke's attention, but he must've seen me because his helmet jolted and it was like he was looking at me. So I looked away quickly.
Then I took another peek only to him doing silly actions like making a fist and bobbing his head up and down then pointing at me, and placing his index and middle finger in front of his helmet and acting like he was licking between them.
My mind was telling me to look away and be offended, but my body found it all so hilarious. I began to force my smile back but it was inevitable as a small smile escaped.
I figured that's all he wanted as he looked in my direction for another moment and extended his index and pinky finger, indicating I should call him. I smiled while rolling eyes and shaking my head at him and he sped up in front of us before driving away.
"He's gone now."
"How would you know that? I told you not to look." Sasuke scolded.
"He drove right in front of us..." I trailed.
"I know, but don't think I didn't hear you laughing, or at least trying not too." He replied. "But anyway, we're here."
I was happy to avoid another lecture from Sasuke, and even happier to finally be at the place I can let loose in privacy, somewhere I can be myself without the eyes of anyone else on me for me to let them down.
"Welcome to Konoha College." I read from the sign next to the big gate entrance.
