Book Summary:

Bucky never had the chance to do what he truly wants with the Saoirse Rogers. Whether that be asking her out on a date when they were teenagers, but some boy in her class beat him to it. Or Sarah Rogers passing away... Perhaps when he thought about finally confessing his feelings for her, but she got accepted into college and he just couldn't take that away from her.

Now here she is: Home from college, graduated, early at that, and he's being shipped away to go heroically die for his country. But what if he didn't want to be the hero? What if he just wanted to get the girl. His girl. The girl he's been madly in love with ever since they were kids. As much as he tried to be a player and flirt with many girls in order to avoid trying to make a move on his best friend's sister, he just couldn't. They couldn't compare. He couldn't forget someone like Saoirse Sarah Rogers and he hopes he never will.

But what he didn't know was that the Rogers girl felt the same way, and always has. Saoirse has always been enamored by the Barnes boy. Who wouldn't fall head over heels for their brothers' older best friend who was as charming as he was handsome? But she never said a word in fear that he would only see her as his best friend's little sister, or worse- see her as a little sister himself. So she sat back as their lives carried on without each other and watched as Bucky flirted with all sorts of girls. She was never mad about it though, for she couldn't be because everyone deserves love. But she did wish it was her who could be loved by James Buchanan Barnes.
