The party had really gotten better since seeing Kiba's smile earlier, but he'd still not take a dip in the pool he just sat at the edge and fondly watched the rest of us have fun.

The guys and I jumped into the pool while posing and having Naruko take photos of each us. I posed like a fox being caught in a corner, Gaara posed as if he was sleeping, Sai did a meditation pose, Rock Lee did a high kick pose, Neji did a spin attack pose almost colliding with the edge of the wall, Shikamaru did a simple jump into the pool pose to which Temari hated, Choji did a a cannon ball which Kauri cheered him for, Menma and Kankuro did a Dragon Ball Z fusion pose and Shino did a faint pose because he wanted to be cool but the sound of his body just slapping on the surface of the water almost made everyone panic.

That is until he resurfaced with a thumbs up which made us all die from laughter because it was clear his back was all red now.

Gaara then took the photos and allowed the girls to pose as well, Ino did a mermaid pose which Sai cheered her for, Sakura did a choke slam which made Rock Lee jump in the pool and do the same with how impressed he was, Hinata was shy at first but Menma grabbed her and jumped into the pool with her bridal style while she gripped him by his hair in terror, Naruko did a simple jump and then timed her landing right so that she could splash water onto us like a water bender, TenTen used a broom stick almost to launch herself from the edge of the pool but fell in because it obviously wasn't long enough, Kauri did a cute cat pose and Temari flicked us off before just splashing us with water.

After that we played hide and seek in the pool but with a catch as the seeker had to be blindfolded, the best seekers were Hinata and Neji because they were so focused on everything from the slightest sounds to the movement of the water so they found us so effortlessly.

The worse seekers though, were Rock Lee because he would just tackle you if he felt like you were near, Temari because she's used the broomstick TenTen had earlier and just swing it around so if it hits you you're out and your hurt and finally Shikamaru, cause he'd just give up.

Granted he was the one that got hit by the broomstick.

Next we played a game of volleyball, since Kiba was the only one that didn't get in the water he decided to act as the net for the game with Shikamaru accompanying him while Ino searched for a beach ball she had.

We decided to split the teams in eight because sixteen of us would be playing now. My team was with Kankuro , Naruko, Ino, Neji, TenTen, Shino and Rock Lee and Menma's team was Gaara, Sai, Temari, Kauri, Choji, Hinata and Sakura.

The game started off pretty well with me and Menma throwing shade at each other back and forth while Naruko stayed focus on beating Kauri alongside TenTen who wanted to beat Temari. Each team worked really well together and had both strengths and weaknesses on each side that we immediately picked up on.

Naruko, Menma, Rock Lee, Temari, Kauri, Sakura, Choji and I were all powerhouses but we couldn't move quickly in water, serving the ball with force was our skill.

Ino and Sai were the best swimmers so they moved more freely in the water.

Hinata and Neji were great at defenses and keeping the ball from landing, or watering, get it? Cause we're in a pool.

Gaara and Shino had no idea what was going on and only tried to support Temari and Kankuro respectively.

TenTen worked alongside Naruko to pull of some high level type skillful serves because they were serious about not losing.

While Kankuro kept laughing it up with Shino who kept bumping into him every now and then.

Shikamaru would chuckle from time to time with how into the game Temari was and it was the cutest thing even when she argued that they were holding the nets to high even though the 'nets' was just two broomsticks.

However, it was Kiba that I think I paid the most attention too. He just looked so happy seeing us all have fun and I don't know what about it made me feel so fuzzy inside. I could literally feel my cheeks burning with how badly I wanted to smile with him.

That's when it hit me, I've gotten so used to seeing him not smile recently that seeing it again just seems so new to me. It was like the dreamiest thing I've ever witnessed with his little sharp canines that was the signature look of the big toothy grin of his.

Oh Kaguya, did that haircut make him look even more handsome.

Wait!

What!? I'm day dreaming! I didn't say any of that.

I focused back on the game and it was coming down to a near end. Naruko prepared her hands and allowed TenTen to stand in her palm as she launched her in the air, Ino threw the ball into the air and TenTen served it swiftly before landing back down in the water.

Normally that would be a sure goal for us, but Neji somehow managed to slow it down this time around before passing it to Temari, Kauri, Choji and then to Sakura who slammed the ball towards us, we thought it was too fast to catch but it had somehow hit Kiba's broomstick and knocked it from his hand.

We cheered, or at least they cheered for the turnout, as for me I didn't have time to cheer as the aforementioned broomstick collided with my face.

All that and we lost by one point. Dear Kaguya stop treating me this way.

The game had ended and I was currently in the guest bathroom checking my forehead if I had been bruised, the others were still out there having fun though.

"Ouch, I hope it doesn't turn into a bump. I'd have to wear a bang tomorrow and I hate those." I flinched as I examined the red spot in the center of my forehead.

"That's an offensive dislike." A voice chuckled from behind me, startling me a bit until I saw who it was.

"Oh, Hinata..." I smiled.

"Where you expecting someone else?" She asked.

"No haha, I was just about to leave actually, you need to use the bathroom, right?" I asked.

"Not quite, I was just coming in here to talk to you, and give you this ointment." She replied as she stood next to me and handed me a small container that had a smell of lilacs and springtime ocean.

"Oh, it's smells sweet." I beamed, as I immediately started applying it heavily to my forehead.

"Haha it's for the swelling, and don't apply so much." She laughed before fanning my hands away, cleaning off most of it off and applying it herself.

I was a bit taken back by her behavior, well not in the sense of her taking care of me because I knew she was just like that, one of the mother's of the group as Ino told Mom earlier, but more so that she was talking to me despite the way she was staring at me earlier.

Which again, is normal for her, but it usually also means she's upset about something.

"So...why did you want to talk?" I asked as she applied the ointment as gently as she could.

"Well, I'll be honest. I didn't want to talk to you earlier because I was upset..." She trailed.

Told you.

"Upset?" I asked.

"Yeah, I was trying to decide how I should approach you first because I didn't want to be too emotional about it. I wanted to just have a understanding conversation with you."

"About what?" I asked.

"Not a what, more like a who."

"Then who?"

"Who do you think?" She asked as she finished rubbing in the ointment and washed her hands before looking back at me.

"..."

"Look, I'm not mad at you or anything but it's just that I'm disappointed and worried, for both you and him respectively."

"Why?"

"Isn't it obvious? He told me what happened with you and him at the movie."

"He did?!" I replied in shock.

"Yeah, it's sweet that the cashier thought you two looked cute together and I thought that things were gonna get better."

"..."

"But then you go ahead and turn him down."

"..." I stared in confusion.

"Naruto?" She called.

"Hm? Oh, I'm sorry I just...my head went blank for a second...Could you repeat that?" I stuttered.

"You and Kiba, went to the movies with Sakura and Sasuke and you made him feel great but then turned him down by the end of it."

That's it?

So she doesn't know the full story of what happened?

Then what exactly did Kiba tell her that would make her disappointed in me and concerned with him?

"I'm sorry..." I managed to say as I was too lost in my mind to even think of anything.

"I'm not the one you should be apologizing to, this type of thing can really affects a person's way of thinking, Naruto."

"How? I wasn't trying to lead him on or anything." I said in defense. "I just didn't realize that he would've been so passionate about it."

"That's what makes me disappointed in you." She clarified. "Even if you didn't know that he liked you that much you must've seen how happy he was to even get an ounce of positivity from someone knowing the two of you were a couple. He was ecstatic about it over the phone and just talked about it for Kaguya knows how long."

"When did he tell you this?" I asked.

"He told me while you were still at the movies. I called him and he said he was having a great time and gave me a little rundown of that part and I was so happy for you two, but I didn't hear from him afterwards, that is until you called and told me he was at his house and he was hurt."

"..."

"Then after that he tells me how you made him feel when he woke up the morning at Kurenai's and you weren't there-"

"How did he feel?"

"He said he spoke to you and he honestly felt discouraged. He felt like no matter what Sasuke did you always choose him over Kiba."

"That's not..." I tried, but I would be lying if I finished that sentence.

"At first I thought he was overreacting, but after looking into it I agreed with him. He does like you a lot and would do anything for you, but after that fight with Sasuke it should've been a deal breaker for you to just forget about him, even though he won't tell me why they both fought, but I'm confident it was Sasuke's fault."

"..."

"But yet, that still didn't move you any further from him because as Kiba said you still consider him an option, and something about him playing a game that he wasn't even a contestant in."

"..." I pursed my lips, knowing that last part all too well.

"Yet, he still tries."

"But I thought he was okay now, he's been drinking the same beer all day and just smiling and enjoying himself with Kankuro."

"Hm, same beer? That's his seventh beer since you came according to Kauri."

"What?!"

"Yeah, we should be lucky Ino got us light beer and also that Kankuro thing is what concerns me about him."

"What do you mean?"

"Well since he's drinking so much and locking eyes with you all night, it's safe to say that the feelings are still there, and if that's the case then what exactly is he doing with Kankuro?"

"..."

"Because I don't think they're having sex and that is a a deal breaker that Kiba isn't that into you if he isn't willing to have sex with you, so what is he with him for?"

"Ino had a hunch of the same thing." I revealed to her.

"..."

"She said it could be that he was trying to make me jealous."

"Are you?"

"Of course not, that's my friend."

"He doesn't think of you as just a friend though."

"It doesn't really matter. For a relationship both parties have to be willing if not then it's one sided and that isn't right."

"But you're not doing this because of one sidedness, you're doing it because you don't want your family to know about you."

"..."

"Look Naruto, I don't mean to pry into anything that isn't my business, but here's a word of advice to you from a friend."

"..."

"If your parents don't accept someone like Kiba who they have that much of a liking too as your boyfriend and your siblings know so well and respect. Then how do you expect them to accept you with Sasuke?"

"..."

"I don't need to go into details about the type of guy Sasuke is and I think you know too, no matter how you try to think differently of him, he is who he is."

"..."

"Apply that ointment when you get home and before bed, alright?" She advised me before quietly leaving the room and closing the door behind her.

I felt like a great pressure had been dropped onto my shoulders, my breathing felt cold, deep and heavy, my eyes started to water and the images of Kiba smiling at me flashing in my mind. Then they started to show all the tears he's cried in front of me and then the anger that was deep in his eyes.

All of those were because of me and the way that I treated him. In the beginning I thought that he was the biggest asshole that I've ever met, but at this point I don't believe it's him this time.

I didn't even hate him anymore, he was literally a friend to me now, but I still made him feel otherwise, even if there might be a small possibility that I might have feelings for him.

I can't trust that it'll work out between us, I think it's better for both of us this way. Even if I'm the only one thinking it...
