After digging through mountains and valleys of clothing I finally found a pair of shorts that I could get wet in, I decided to put it on so that when I get there all I had to do was take my shirt and undershirt off before getting in the water.

It was bright orange with details of yellow and blue patterns all over, it was little tight but we haven't been to a body of water in a long time and this was honestly my favorite thing to wear to those places.

Once I was done I went back downstairs with Menma and the girls and we said goodbye to Mom and made our way out the door. There was only one van outside which I'm guessing by the purple dice hang from the inside it belonged to Ino.

"Oh crap, it's seven of us isn't it?" Ino paused.

"Yeah, what's up?" Sakura asked.

"The stuff are in the trunk, so they'll probably have to lap up in the back." She suggested.

"That's fine by me, come on Hinata." Menma shrugged as he grabbed her by the hand and flung her over his shoulder.

"Menma, stop it haha." She laughed as he took her to the vehicle.

"Stop what? You act like you've never sat in my lap before." He teased as he placed her down and wrapped his arms around her.

"You're embarrassing me." She blushed while trying to pull away from him but he only laid in the sit causing her to be drawn on top of him.

"Well, that's me driving, Sakura is shotgun, Hinata in Menma's lap, so that just leave you three. Who will be sitting in Naruto's lap?"

"Uhm no, TenTen will be sitting in my lap. It's Naruto's first time joining us at the pool and I don't want Neji giving him the bad eye." Naruko advised her.

"Oh yeah, I forgot about that." Ino replied.

"He's not possessive you know? He'd understand that seats were limited so I had to be in someone's lap."

"Sure he would." They all said in unison.

"Come on, let's get going then." Ino beamed as she entered the car.

We all got in afterwards and once we were comfortable we drove off and began our journey. I was glad that they gave me the seat next to the window, being in the middle always made me feel weird.

I looked out the window and the further we were from home the more nervous I felt. Especially since all I could really think about was Kiba, he was going to be there and so was Kankuro, I was supposed to be happy but in all honesty I felt terrified, not just that either but also concerned.

Ino said that Kankuro and Kiba didn't seem to be really into each other like I thought they were, but if that's the case then why is he doing this with him. It had gone far beyond testing his sexuality as he was able to discover that with me.

We did a lot even if we didn't get to do the deal breaker.

So why would he just all of a sudden bring up Kankuro now if what he felt for him wasn't genuine like he said that he HAD to have with a person for him to be with them.

He wouldn't lie about something like that, would he?

No, he definitely wouldn't lie to me, but there isn't something that's adding up, and judging by the glances Hinata would give me ever so often. I feel like just like me she had Kiba on her mind as well.

We finally arrived to Ino's house and she parked the car in garage. Her house was filled with plants in literally every corner. If I didn't know any better I'd even say her family were the ones to supply Konoha with the abundance of forestry that the town had.

Still, it was an insect's paradise, but also a florist's dream.

Before entering the house we all removed our shoes and I saw them lining up at the front of the door, at first I was confused, that is until I saw them administering a spray device unto themselves.

"Come on Naruto, get sprayed before the insects sniff you out." Ino invited.

"That's repellent?" I asked as I walked closer.

"Yeah it's one my family mixed with some herbs that helps promote nice feeling skin." She explained.

"Wouldn't that attract more insects though?"

"Not really, the herbs they use aren't liked by most insects. It's how flies are attract to shit but we're not, it works like that so it's more pleasant to our noses while insects hate it."

"Oh..."

"Don't get her started or she'll start talking about plants and the ecosystem all day." Sakura whispered as she nudged me then placed her arm over my shoulder as we walked together further into the house.

I could hear music playing faintly in the distance but the closer we walked to the door at the end of the hallway was the louder it got.

They opened the door and my eyes blinded by the flashing pastel purple lights that decorated the room, the deafening music felt like it had already taken over my body as the catchy song shock me to my core, that and Sakura dancing while still holding onto me.

Most of the windows were covered by blinds and behind the only glass in the room that was visible was another room with a medium sized pool and the others jumping around, running and splashing in the water.

Through the window I saw Kiba chatting with Kankuro while he held a beer in his hand. He looked so good, though he was wearing a long sleeved shirt and had this almost tired look on his face, it immediately sent a shiver down my spine and made me tense up.

"Hm, loosen up Naruto? Look at all the fun happening in there." Sakura encouraged me as she guided me forward along with the others following.

The closer we got to the door was the more I wanted to run and hide. She pushed me towards the door and opened it for us.

"We're here!" She yelled over the loud music, earning a wave from some and a cheer by the others.

Meanwhile my eyes were locked on Kiba who looked surprised to see me while Kankuro waved at me, or Menma I wasn't really sure because I was way too focused on the small smile that crept on Kiba's face the moment I stepped into the room.

"Naruto!" Rock Lee beamed as he popped up in front of me and started hugging me.

"I haven't seen you in a while."

"Same here." I chuckled nervously.

"That's our own fault, we need to do better. Tell you what? Next outing will be us boys and we'll make it memorable." He promised.

"Pfft oh please Lee, do you even know when the next outing will be?" TenTen asked.

"Next weekend of course."

"Really? So that's you saying you've forgot Kiba's birthday?" Sakura pointed out.

"His what?" I gasped.

"Oh my Kaguya, it completely slipped my mind. But it can still be a guy's only day. We take him out in the day and then at night we all do something together, I just hadn't remembered June ended so quickly, it's almost summer break time."

"With all the exams we get, I can't blame you." Ino sighed.

I had no idea it was going to be Kiba's birthday soon, that's actually crazy to think he'll be older than me for a while. Not only that but the beginning of July would mean we only had two weeks left of detention, after that we'd be done with it.

So much has happened during the course of the months we've been together, but why do I feel like nothing has happened at all either.

Am I regretting something?

Of course I would be, I can't possibly forget the chaos that reigned the last two to three days.

If only I had-

"Hey." I snapped out of my thoughts as Kiba stood in front of me. He had a gentle smile on his face as he looked at me with his drink in hand.

"Hey..." I trailed, still feeling awkward around him.

Luckily Naruko had gone over to Gaara and Menma took Hinata with him while he greeted Kankuro, Ino and Sakura stood near us and talked with Rock Lee and TenTen. I was glad my siblings didn't have to see the awkward situation between Kiba and I, but I still didn't like it.

"I didn't know that you were coming." He continued, taking a sip of his beer.

"Haha, well Ino wasn't going to leave until I packed my things and came here."

"Hm, that sounds like her." He smirked.

We stood there for a brief moment of silence and I couldn't help but look everywhere else except at Kiba, I don't know what it was but I just felt so nervous seeing him. Almost like I wasn't supposed to be looking at him, but why, we've been friends for a while now and really close ones too if I might add.

So why was it so awkward.

"You want a sip?" He offered, holding the bottle in front of me.

"Uh no, Mom would kill me if she found out we were drinking." I declined.

"I get it." He replied.

Once again we were left in silence. Was this how it always was going to be now?

"How's your arm?" I asked, hoping to stir the pot in a better direction.

"Oh, it's almost better. I don't feel the tension against it and the bandages anymore." He explained as he rolled up his sleeve and showed me his arm.

"It looks like it's been rewrapped, did Kankuro do this for you..." I asked but when I looked back up at him my eyes fell to his neck where I saw a hickey, obviously he couldn't have given himself that so that must mean.

Him and Kankuro have been intimate, and if that's the case then, there's definitely something between them.

"Oh no, it was me who patched it up. I learned a few tricks from my sister so I'm able to help myself with these kinds of things that and if the dogs every get injured while playing or fighting."

"Right..."

"..."

"..."

"So..."

"If you could just give me a second. I've gotta change." I interrupted, not really wanting to continue the conversation.

"Oh, okay."

I called out to Ino and asked her for where I could go and change and she guided me to a bathroom. I sat on the bathtub and just stared at myself in the mirror.

Why was I like this?

Why am I being like this with him?

If he's able to move on I should be happy for him, not dismissing conversations as if he's to blame for everything. To even think that I could believe that he was doing this to try and teach me a lesson...

How could I be so egocentric?

Today was supposed to be about splashing around and having fun with friends, not trying to make myself into a villain. Instead of trying to push Kiba away and avoid him, I should be more supportive and show him that just like him I'm willing to allow him to move on.

No matter how I feel and no matter how much it hurts, this is for my friend.

When I finished changing and opened the bathroom door I saw Ino and her boyfriend, Sai in the hallway waiting for me.

"..."

"..."

"..."

"You okay?" She asked.

"Yeah..."

"Are you sure because I can sort something out and-"

"It's fine, really. I just want him to be happy, it's clear to me now that he and Kankuro have something going on and I just want to be supportive of him because so far that's all he's given me, I'd like to return it."

"I still disagree, but if that's what you think and want to do then I got you."

"Thank you."

"So no fun for me?" Sai asked.

"Oh no, there will be fun. We still have a bet going on, don't you forget that Naruto."

"What fun exactly are you talking about?" I asked, feeling a bit uneasy by the two of them as they smirked at each other.

"You'll find out later, and I can guarantee your little boy loving heart with love it." She winked before holding out her hand for both Sai and I. He took her hand before looking back at me with a playful smile that matched hers.

I took her hand hesitantly and she guided the both of us back to the others. All eyes seemed to fall on us, but the only one that really caught my eyes were Kiba's wide brown orbs that dazzled under the flashing light of room as we locked eyes.

Just what was Ino and Sai planning to do?
