Author [@Kaitlyn465]

Welcome, everyone. Today we have the lovely Kaitlyn465

A big thank you to her for taking the time to answer these questions.

If you haven't read her books then please do. They're amazing...

Without further ado...

...

1. What inspired you to start writing?

I've always loved writing, reading so many stories growing up taught me so many things. I always wanted to be able to do that for others so I began telling my own stories.

2. Did you have any writers' block along the way? How did you get past them?

I wouldn't say I have writers block. I always know where I want my story to go, I struggle more with a lack of motivation. Sometimes it's just really hard to sit down and get the words out. To get past this, I normally take a mental break and come back to it when I'm ready.

3. Do you see yourself in any characters and why?

I think a little part of me is in all my characters. However, Lucy for Lucille Potter is loosely based on me. I didn't intend for that to happen but as the chapters progressed and her personality grew, we became more similar in our character traits and attitude.

4. How old are you?

I'm 15 years old

5. How old were you when you started writing?

I started writing in elementary school. My first story I published on Wattpad was this story called Ashley Lily Potter, I was eleven and it was absolutely terrible. I still have it in my drafts, sometimes I look back at it and laugh. I actually begun writing Just Like Brothers in 2017, I had the first 9 chapters published, I didn't start working on it again until January of this year!

6. Can you remember what you felt when you first started writing? What did you feel?

I was so happy to be writing when I first started. It was my favourite pastime and I believed I was going to be a famous author.

7. What's your outside life like?

Outside of Wattpad, I'm like any other teen. I hang out with my friends, read, go to school, work, play sports and spend time with my family.

8. What do you like to do when you're not writing?

When I'm not writing, you can typically find me with a good book or bingeing Netflix.

9. What does your family think about your writing?

My family knows I write, however I would never let them read it, I'd be too embarrassed.

10. What do you think makes a good story?

I think what makes a good story is the characters and plot. You need to have entertaining characters to keep the readers engaged and a plot that makes the story flow smoothly but also keeps it interesting.

11. What's your favourite genre?

My favourite genre is dystopian fiction

12. Do you write on Wattpad or do you use software (like Microsoft word)?

I write on Wattpad

13. What's the hardest part for you to write, and why?

The hardest thing for me to write is intimate moments, I just never know how to word them right.

14. Do you work on an outline or just go with the flow?

When I write I have a rough idea of what I want to happen in my head, however I don't write with an outline, most of the time the words just flow and form the story without me evening knowing that I wrote it.

15. Do you have anything specific you want to say to readers?

I would like to tell my readers how much I appreciate them and how they keep me going and encourage me to follow my passions, and for that, I will be forever grateful.

16. and lastly, do you have any advice for new writers.

My advice for new readers is to write for yourself, don't let others dictate your plot or make you change anything; write what you want to write, if you try to write for others, you won't find joy in it. Another important thing is to never give up, as cheesy as it might sound, stick with it, I promise it will be worth it in the end.
