Goodbye (Luke x Reader)
(A/n: Listening to Unsaid Emily while reading this makes it 10 times sadder)
"Hey babe, I'm gonna go grab some street dogs with the boys. I'll be back before the show starts." Your boyfriend, Luke, comes up from behind you and wraps you in his arms.
"Ew, you're all sweaty." You try to pull out of his grasp but he hugs you even tighter. "Nice rehearsal by the way." You turn to face him and place a small kiss on his sweaty cheek.
"Can you come with us, please? Maybe you'll like street dogs." He pleaded with his big, beautiful eyes.
"No, I think I'll stay with Bobby and hand out t-shirts or something. I don't need hot dogs from a stranger's car." You started walking away.
"Aww, come on Y/N, you will ever experience life until you eat a street dog." He looks at you.
"Then I guess I simply won't experience life. I'll see you later babe. Be good." You give him a knowing look and hug him. You watch him grab his jacket and run up to Alex and Reggie who were standing by the back exit.
*30 minutes Later*
There were loud sirens outside the Orpheum so you went in the alleyway to see what was going on. A crowd was gathering across the street as an ambulance pulled up. You had a bad feeling so you ran across the street. "Y/N, where are you going?" Bobby ran behind you but you didn't notice him. "Y/N, what's going on?" Bobby was out of breath.
You pushed your way to the front of the crowd with Bobby behind you. You gasped and felt tears in your eyes. There was Luke along with Alex and Reggie in the back of an ambulance. The paramedics were telling everyone to stand back and that, yes, the boys were dead.
"Oh my god, are those the members of Sunset Curve?" You heard a girl's voice behind you.
"Y/N, are you okay?" Bobby was next to you and you turned to look at him. Tears were running down both of your faces.
"He never got to say goodbye. Bobby, he never got to say goodbye to his mother or his father." Bobby looked at you wide-eyed as you leaned into his chest and sobbed.
"Come on Y/N, we have to go back to tell everyone." Bobby slowly pulled you away and you went back into the Orpheum. He went to get the venue manager or someone to tell.
*A week Later*
It had been a week since Luke, Alex, and Reggie died. You were completely heartbroken. You went to all three of their funerals with Bobby. Luke's was the saddest because his mother and father felt like they were the ones that caused this.
As you walked up to Luke's casket you smiled. He looked so peaceful lying there. You laughed a bit at what he last said to you. It felt bittersweet, but more bitter.
"Hey Luke, I don't know if you can hear me but I don't think you needed street dogs to live. I need you to be with me. Please, Luke, come back to me. I need you to live." Your eyes started getting watery and soon tears rolled down your cheeks. "I wish I had convinced you to stay with me. We could have gotten veggie burgers with Bobby or went to that restaurant you like on the corner. I hope you're happy wherever you are." You kissed your fingers and pressed them to Luke's lips. They were cold which only made you cry harder.
"Goodbye, I love you."
