Am I enough? (Alex x Luke)

Alex pov
I was kind of nervous about today's band practice. Over the last few months, Luke and I have gotten closer. It's nothing bad. I just feel weird around him a lot. Like butterflies or a ghost disease. Could there be a ghost disease?

Willy and I decided to remain friends for the time being. I guess that's kind of a good thing.

"Hey Alex, band practice tonight. We have to rehearse our new songs," Luke said to me. I snapped out of my daze. Luke was standing in front of me. I was in the loft.

"Yeah man, sounds good," I replied. He looked down to the bottle where Julie and Reggie were. Ever since the Orpheum, Julie and Luke have been hanging out more and hugging.

SO. MUCH. HUGGING.

I don't get why I'm not enough for him. I poofed down to join the others.

"Hey Alex, I was thinking we start off with this song Julie wrote, Perfect Harmony, and end with one of our firsts. Maybe Bright or Edge of Great." Luke said. I blushed and walked over to my drums.

"Whatever you guys want," I sighed.

Reggie, Luke, and Julie were still sitting on the couch. Luke looked over at me.

"Dude you good? You look like someone took your puppy," Luke asked.

"I'm fine," I replied. " I just can't think straight today."

Luke laughed a bit. "Yeah, man. You haven't been thinking straight since about '94." I couldn't help but chuckle.

"I have to go," I said. I poofed outside and started walking away from the garage.

"Yo Alex, wait up," Luke ran from behind me. "Where're you going? It's the middle of the afternoon."

I turned to look at him walking next to me. "Do you ever feel like you're just not enough? Like no matter how hard you try, no one ever noticed how good you are?" I whisper.

"Well, yeah. Sometimes I guess," He looks at me and I turn my head away. "Why, is something wrong?"

"Am I good enough for you?" I asked, barely audible.

Luke stopped walking. I turned around to look at him. Did he hear me? We were standing in an empty park. No one was around. Not like anyone would hear us.

"Wait what?" Luke looked at me.

"Nothing, it's stupid anyway," I was about to poof out when Luke pulled me into a hug.

"You'll always be enough for me. You're my best friend." He said.

I winced a bit. "No, like more than friends." I pulled away from him, ready to run.

"You like me? More romantic than platonic?" Luke asked.

"Well yeah. Is that okay?" I asked, looking down. Luke lifted my chin. I blushed profusely.

"It's more than okay Alex," He smiled at me. "I like you too."

"Wait really? What about Julie? I thought you liked her?" I was kind of shocked.

“Julie knows I’m bisexual. She’s been giving me advice and stuff I guess. We’re just really good friends,” Luke says.

“Can I kiss you?” I ask. (: Consent boys :)

“Sure you can,” Luke smiles at me stupidly.
Our lips connect and it’s like I’m seeing and feeling myself for the first time.

The butterflies are gone and now all that’s left is just us two. No one else mattered more at this moment than Luke.

He ran his fingers through my hair and I moved my hands to the back of his head. Our lips were moving in such a way that it was like this wasn’t our first kiss.

Eventually, our lips broke apart because we needed oxygen.

“That was..” Luke started to say.

“Just wow,” I finished for him. “Does this mean we are together?” I asked Luke.

“Yeah, I guess it does,” Luke smiled at me.

Our hands intertwined and we stood staring at each other.

I love him.
