I
3rd Person's POV
"We have to tell her... before it's too late Gideon."
"And we will Faye. Why are you being more nervous than usual?"
"I don't know I just feel something bad coming."
"Faye-"
"Oh don't you Faye me. I know how it sounds. I grew up sounding crazy to everyone but my mother. I know what I feel. You know what I am... sooner or later Georgie is going to see... things. You know this."
"And when it happens we will be there to guide her, okay? Now come on and give me a hug."
Shuffling sounds from behind the cracked open door. A small teen girl stands on one side holding her head back against the wall while looking up at the ceiling.
'What are they hiding?'
The teen girl stiffens as she hears silence. She slowly glances over at the creaked door to see two shadows making their way over. Quickly and quietly, the girl sprints to her room on the other side of the house. Closing the door shut, she leaps into her bed and throws the blankets over her body.
After a minute or two, her door creaks open. Footsteps slowly make their way to her still yet fake asleep body. Her bed dips down as figures sit on it right behind her. Her back had been facing the door, allowing her to pretend to be dead asleep.
"Georgie... I know you're awake."
The girl frowns as she pushes the covers off her, "How?! How do you know all the time? What do you have superpowers or something?"
Faye chuckles as she brushes the girls hair behind her ear. Gideon stands beside Faye watching the two loves of his life. They meant everything to him. He had been blessed more than he could imagine.
"Georgie honey what did we tell you about snooping?"
"I wasn't snooping..."
Lie.
Gideon makes a yeah right face at the girl as she huffs.
"I was just... having a nightmare. I woke up and was freaked out so I went to tell you guys."
Now this was not a lie.
Faye looks at the girl and frowns. She looks into her eyes and sees slight fear hidden very well. She sighs and glances over at Gideon who clears his throat knowing exactly what Faye was thinking.
It was starting.
"Georgia sweetheart you will always be okay. There is nothing that will hurt you. You just have to believe that."
Georgia stares at her father with a mocking stare, "If I believe... come on dad this isn't a fairytale or some fable storybook. Life is scary. People are scary..."
Faye grips onto Georgia's hand, "What did you dream sweetheart? You can tell us."
"That's the point mom. I don't know. It felt like... I don't know-"
"No go ahead honey."
Georgia glances at her dad's warm eyes and sighs, "It was like it wasn't even my dream. I don't know whose it was. There was no one I could recognize. No place I have ever seen before. But it was scary. People were being killed left and right..."
"By who honey?"
Georgia looks at her mom then down at their hands.
Or by what you mean.
"I don't know. I just remember seeing bite marks everywhere on someone. Who dreams of something so scary?"
"I don't know sweetheart..."
Georgia takes in a deep breath and looks out her window, "You guys think I'm crazy now don't you?"
"Of course not honey! Sometimes you dream abnormal things. Sometimes you think of things that don't make sense. It will happen. But you are not crazy. Okay?"
"There must be something wrong with me?"
Gideon frowns and puts his hand on Faye's shoulder. She looks up at him and sighs with a sad smile, then looks back at Georgia.
Georgia yawns and lays down, covering herself back up. She had suddenly felt really sleepy. It was like all her energy was drained within seconds. All she wanted to do was shut her eyes and forget about everything that had just happened.
"You are so special Georgie. There is nothing wrong with you. Don't ever think that for one second."
"We will finish this talk tomorrow after you come home from school okay?"
Georgia says nothing as her eyes flutter closed. She had no strength to even respond back.
"We love you honey."
Gideon and Faye quickly make their way out Georgia's room. They shut the door quietly then stand for a second glancing between each other and the closed door.
"It's happening Gideon..."
"Well the same thing happened to you when you turned 14 as well. What do we do?"
"We have to tell her... everything."
