chapter 2

silence

"This danceracha or whatever they call themself is so annoying," Laska whined, thinking about how she couldn't even walk around her house without seeing her brother and his friends in every corner. "They've been in our house nonstop!"

"It can't be that bad, at least they are all hotties," Robin chuckled, making Riley look at her. "Not Minho," she blurted out right away. "Don't even start with that." She said, staring into Riley's soul.

"What do you mean 'hotties'? It's literally my brother and his friends."

"I thought you liked Felix," Izzy said, thinking about completely different things, drinking her coffee. Everyone looked at her, surprised she dared to say it out loud. They all knew Felix was Laska's childhood crush, but no one wanted to actually mention it, wondering what might happen if Alaska figured out they knew all along.

"What? No, I am totally over him," Laska blurted out, her cheeks turning red. Riley chuckled when she didn't hear her argue with them about what used to be. "I didn't even like him that much, it was nothing." Laska continued, trying to convince her friends.

"Right," Astran giggled. "Just as I never crushed on him," he rolled their eyes, still laughing.

"You what?" Amy and Robin asked at the same time.

"I thought you guys knew? Hana definitely knew," he answered, not making any deal out of it.

"It was kind of obvious." She nodded quietly. Maybe she had observing skills, but she still thought this was something everyone knew about. "Just as Riley is so obvious when it comes to Chris."

"What? No I am not," Riley said right away. "Are you a match maker or something now?" She asked, scoffing, to hide how worried she was that he might have figured out the same thing Hana did.

"I..." Hana muttered, her eyes slowly falling to the ground. "Forget it."

"No, Hana, come on, I didn't mean it like that." Riley panicked after seeing the look on her face.

"Okay, chill out everyone, it's not like she is the only one noticing. Just admit your feelings, it's not that hard." Izzy said casually, making Amy chuckle.

"Oh, yeah? Have you already told him you want him to text you and not just draw?" Amy asked, getting the attention of others.

"What is going on?" Tessa asked, almost bumping into a street light as she wasn't paying attention.

"I didn't..." Izzy mumbled, almost no one hearing her clearly. "It's just, uh! I want to get to know him and I can't do that well when he refuses to write anything."

"What did you do to deserve this silent treatment?" Robin asked.

"I mean, we all get why Robin's soulmate is ghosting her, but why yours?" Riley joined her, while Tessa nodded, agreeing with her.

"I didn't do anything! That's the thing!" Izzy whined, sadly taking a sip of her coffee.

Even though her friends were talking about what could have Izzy done, Hana wasn't paying attention. She was smiling at her arm once again, the boy was too good at making her laugh. All the small things he did felt great and even though Hana had no idea who she was texting to she felt loved, which made her scared. 'Don't you want to hang out?' A new text showed up on her left hand, making her choke up on her drink.

"Everything good?" Amy turned to her sister, Hana shaking her head immediately.

"No, no, no," she repeated, turning to her friends. "What is he doing?" She asked, even a blind person could see the worry on her face.

"What is it?" Izzy asked, completely ditching their last conversation.

"He wants to meet up," she muttered. "He...I hoped he wouldn't," she whined.

"Is it that bad?" Tessa asked, looking at Alaska, who was as confused as her. "I mean...I thought you liked him."

"But I don't want to like him," Hana sighed. "I wanted us to be friends."

"Did you?" Astran asked, looking down at his friends, sometimes he felt weird being so tall among them.

"You can like him, Hana," Amy assured her.

"That's easy to say for you," she muttered. "You know who your soulmate is."

"Why is no one telling me things?" Robin asked, stepping in front of Amy, looking for an explanation, which made all of them stop in the middle of the street. "How do you know who your soulmate is?"

"And who is it?" Alaska added.

"Uhm..." Amy started, looking at Izzy for some back up. When she figured out she wasn't getting one, she sighed. "Jeongin,"

"Like, my brother's friend Jeongin?"

"Yeah," Amy nodded. "He doesn't know though." While Amy, Laska, Tessa and Robin continued to talk about Jeongin being Amy's soulmate, Izzy dragged Hana to a side, Riley and Astran following the two of them.

"Hana, you don't have to date him just because you two meet up." Izzy proclaimed.

"As if I didn't know that," Hana looked at her. "I just...don't know if I want to meet him at all. It's scary, alright? I don't want to meet up with a stranger alone." She explained, Riley getting an idea right away.

"We can go with you. Just tell him to bring some friends and we'll make sure you're not alone there."

"How will they know who is who if we do that?" Astran asked, raising his eyebrow.

"Izzy?" Riley turned to her, counting on her friend to think the details though.

'Sorry, we don't have to.' appeared on Hana's arm when she didn't respond to him.

Seungmin was sitting on his bed, staring at the ceiling of his room. He was as confused as Hana when it came to his soulmate. He enjoyed texting with her, but whenever he found himself thinking about her more than just a friend he had to slap himself, reminding himself he doesn't know her. That's also why he thought meeting with her might help him, but now, he couldn't stop thinking about the fact he said something wrong.

"Are you still talking to her?" Jeongin walked into his room, water for both of them in his hands. "Others will be here soon, Changbin is gonna kick your ass if you don't pay attention to the movie."

"Don't worry about it," He chuckled, looking back at his arm, it looked like he wasn't talking to her anymore. "She is with her friends now." He muttered, going back to reality.

'We can do that. Just...do you mind if we do it with more people?' Hana wrote on her hand, already sitting in her room, Astran and Riley in their living room, picking up a movie they will watch, while the others were preparing some food.

'Whatever you want.' He answered immediately again and Hana started to feel bad for leaving him without an answer the whole day. 'You can take some of your friends and we can hang out in a group. I wanted to meet them anyway'

'S, I am sorry for not making it as you wanted,' Hana typed with a small smile on her face. 'I do like you a lot btw' She added, feeling as if she just sent a risky text, throwing her pen away as quickly as she could and walking out of her room to join her friends.

"He is such an idiot!" Hana heard just when she walked out of her room, catching Izzy with her eyes. "Not only is he ignoring anything I write, but he is also drawing some stupid pig instead!" Izzy yelled, falling onto their sofa right next to Riley, who chuckled over her behavior.

Hana walked to them, feeling a new text appearing on her arm. She just sat next to Izzy, covering her arm with one of the pillows, scared of what he said. "Maybe he doesn't speak Korean?" she suggested, knowing damn well that was bullshit as the first message Izzy got from him was indeed a drawing, but a drawing that answered her question.

"I doubt. He just doesn't like me," Izzy mumbled.

"Alright, enough of the pessimism, I am getting us an ice cream." Amy proclaimed, going back to the kitchen to do as she just said.

"Move your ass so I can sit too," Tessa said, slightly kicking Izzy's leg so she would get up. Izzy sighed, sitting up properly, moving closer to Hana as Riley moved too, making space for Tessa and Amy. They've been over so many times that they have already figured out how to fit all eight of them on their sofa.
