Is Spider-Man really Public Enemy #1? According to "superhero" Mysterio, who we have identified as a Mr Quentin Beck, New York's very own sassy web-slinging superhero, the friendly neighborhood Spider-Man, killed Mr Beck. Mr Beck has also revealed the masked vigilante's identity, a 17 year old high school senior, Peter Parker! 

On August 10, 2024, Beck had sent the Daily Bugle a video, with his dying message and a reveal of our well-loved hero, Spider-Man. Spider-Man, had been on patrol with his girlfriend, Michelle Jones Watson, also known as MJ, and had seen the video projected on the screens. Unbeknownst to us at that time, August 10 was his 17th birthday, and instead of getting birthday wishes from us, the citizens of New York who are indebted to him, he and his girlfriend were swarmed with an angry mob, and he received boos and many rotten tomatoes and eggs thrown at him.

Now, the facts have been revealed, and he was bitten by a radioactive spider which resulted in him getting his powers. The origin of the radioactive spider is still unknown. 

Peter Parker, an intern at Stark Industries, and his best friend Ned Leeds, have worked together to save many of us citizens of New York - we all have at least one good Spider-Man story, either something that happened to us, or our friends or family members! MJ has also been revealed to having known Parker's secret identity. 

So why would Peter Parker, a 17 year old senior at Midtown High School, aiming to get into MIT, want to murder Mr Quentin Beck in cold blood?

And this is where the story gets interesting. Because, prior to the first incident involving supernatural elements, Mysterio has never been heard about. Mr Beck, an ex-Stark Industries worker, had been fired from his job at Stark Industries, as Mr Stark had "ignored and put down my [Mr Beck's] life work!" Until he appeared as Mysterio, Beck had disappeared off the grid. 

In this case, how would we trust more? A high schooler with no plausible motives, or an embittered employee who quit his job out of spite, and then disappeared? Right, the high schooler. 

Beck had pressed many charges against Parker, some of them extremely heavy charges to press against a 17 year old with his whole future ahead of him. The FBI had completed a thorough investigation in Parker's history, and he is as much the pure, selfless superhero that he claims to be. Meanwhile, although the FBI have scoured all their files, they have come up with next to nothing about Mr Beck. This implies that there might have been tampering or influence to destroy or hide Mr Beck's files. 

What we do know, however, adds even more information to prove that Parker is telling the truth. Mr Beck's "life work", as he called it, was in fact the B.A.R.F. Technology, which stands for Binarily Augmented Retro-Framing - Holographic illusion technology. This technology is possible with the use of the EDITH glasses, the name standing for "Even Dead, I'm The Hero" - We all known that Tony Stark loved his acronyms. The EDITH glasses, able to control the EDITH drones made by Stark Industries, has many functions, including creating holographic illusions. 

When Tony Stark, also known as Iron Man, died saving the world from Thanos, he gifted the EDITH glasses to his "personal intern" and protege, Mr Parker. However, data shows that ownership was soon transferred to a Mr Quentin Beck. 

Because of the fiasco in London, we now know that the presumed supernatural elemental beings were actually holographically projected illusions created by the EDITH drones. 

If the beings were fakes, what's to say that Mysterio is not a fraud? What's to say that he had not framed Peter Parker? 

So I ask you, is Spider-Man, the person who has saved all of us many times, the person who had helped fight Thanos, but also helped old ladies cross the road, give directions, fight off muggers, stop thefts, just been here for us, the people of New York, to keep us safe, the person who has spent many an hour sitting next to suicidal people on a bridge or at the edge of a building, talking them away from the edge, convinced them to keep living, and dragged them out of their darkness. Is Peter Parker really Public Enemy #1, as the Daily Bugle claims? Or is it the so called hero Mysterio, a shady person with an even shadier background, embittered and spiteful, and with so many plausible motives, Public Enemy #1?
