~lilia buckingham~

millie, emily, and i all put our bags away and start walking to the cafeteria. "are you guys ready?" emily asked anxiously. i grab her hand and squeeze it, "we're going to be fine, don't worry about it." millie interrupts, "don't worry about it em, let's just get food. okay?" millie smiles with a reassuring voice.

we get our breakfast, which was eggs with bread and bacon, not bad for summer camp food. we find a table and start to eat. "i'm going to go get sauces and stuff, any of you want?" millie says standing up. "can you get me ketchup babe?" i ask, millie smiles and nods. millie then turns to emily and she just shakes her head no. millie shrugs and goes to get the condiments.

"hey, look over there," emily shoves me gently with her shoulder, i glance to where she's looking.

   there's three girls, they all go to our school. we haven't talked before, well i don't know if emily or millie have. anyways, the three girls; first is rachel, she has beautiful blue eyes and long blonde hair. rachel is also the most popular of the trio. she's very friendly and nice and gets along with everyone. then it's lauren, lauren she's the theater geek, it's adorable how much she loves it. she's definitely not that popular but still popular. i have to admit, i had a little crush on her. i've never talked to her but i saw how happy and nice she was, it was weird. anyways, the last girl was a girl i've never seen before. i mean, i've seen her before but i've never really noticed her. i think her name is gill or something, she has curly long blonde hair and brown eyes. she's pretty, i don't know anything about her expect that she's been hanging out with rachel and lauren.

   i snap out of my hazy and focus back on emily, "sorry, you said something?" i asked blinking my eyes. "yeah look, it's that new girl hanging out with rachel and lauren." emily said while eating eggs. "what about them?" i ask, why does she care.

   "i've heard that one of them is bisexual." emily whispers as if it's a huge secret.

   "did you hear that from millie?" i reply and roll my eyes; i continued to eat my bacon.

   "oh shut up," she pauses, "who do you think it is?" she questions, raising her eyebrow. i look over to the small group, analyzing them. rachel is wearing shorts with a striped shirt. lauren is wearing jeans along with a black crop-top. the new girl is wearing ripped cuffed jeans with a tank-top. "judging from their outfits, my best guess would be the new girl." i guessed.

"oh are you guys talking about jillian?" millie says as she comes back from getting the sauces, which she puts down on the table. "is that her name?" emily questions. "yup, it's jillian." millie says again. "jillian, that's a nice name." i repeat, getting a ketchup packet and putting it on my eggs.

emily interrupts me, "so how do you know that she's bisexual?" she plays with her food, clearly full. "there's a rumor that she is, i have no idea why. her and her ex broke up not so long ago though." millie shrugs and takes a bit of her food. i'm still curious and ask, "who's her ex?" she simply responds with, "jack clark, i think he's coming to this camp." i know jack, he seems like a nice dude.

"anyways, i think you should go talk to her," millie speaks. i look at her confused, "what do you mean."

"you know, because she's bisexual." millie says while gently pushing my arm and winking.

"just because she might be bisexual doesn't mean anything." i say calmly. "we don't know if she's even bisexual, it's just a rumor."

emily stops our almost-argument, "lilia look, how many girls do you know that like other girls?" emily has a point; majority of our grade is straight. that we know of.

she continues, "millie has a point, you can find out if she's bisexual. and if not then you have a new friend. either way, if you decide to talk to her, you're getting a friend."

i rest my head on my hand, "i guess you guys are right," i can't believe i'm going to do this, "fine i'll talk to her." millie and emily share a quick high-five and get excited. "that doesn't mean she's becoming my next girlfriend or anything." i clarify.

millie winks at me, "you never know." emily laughs and starts to grab all of our leftovers to throw away. i say a fast thank you, so does millie.

i turn my head towards the small group we've been talking about. i catch jillian looking at me. i smile sweetly at her and i give her a little wave. she smiles and waves back. i put my focus back on the two girls in front of me, they both give me a look. "what?" i ask, clearly confused.

"did you see that?" millie whispers to emily, she slowly nodded. "that was adorable!" emily exclaims, millie agrees by shaking her. "i can't even say wave to a girl." i say laughing.
