𝐦𝐚𝐫𝐭𝐢𝐧 𝐛𝐨𝐲𝐥𝐞

It's been a minute since I've posted in here oh my gosh but I feel like I haven't really had anything of relevance to say? And besides, you all see my shit posting over on Instagram anyway.

However, the time has come for me to return to my spam book, and oh, would you believe that it's over yet another man? Who would've thought? (Please note that those two sentences should be read with an incredulous amount of sarcasm).

One of the biggest stories over the past few weeks in Scottish football was about how Martin Boyle was to return to Hibs. (If you're new here, hi! I'm a fan of a Scottish team called Hibernian, or Hibs for short. In January, we sold arguable our best player for £3m to a Saudi Arabian club. That's a lot of money here.)

Anyway, his club got relegated and the rumours started up. People questioning if he would come back and I never believed it. I was a bit like, "aye, right." No way would we be able to buy him back.

But I would be wrong. Yesterday, it was revealed that Martin Boyle had returned and let me tell you, I couldn't stop smiling. I was at work when I found out and it's probably the best customer service I've ever given anyone.

Fast forward to today where we played our city rivals, Hearts 🤮🤮. I didn't think Boyle would be in the squad but I was wrong again. He was named on the bench. Martin Boyle #77 (so wrong but numbers 17 and 10 are unavailable 😞).

Boyle came on as a sub in the second half. We were getting beat 0-1 but 90+5, last kick of the game. Elie Youan glides past Halkett, slides the ball into Boyle who puts it between Craig Gordon's legs and into the back of the net.

Absolute. Limbs.

What a way to mark your return. Absolute legend. I've missed him sm!

For anyone who doesn't quite understand how big this is for us Hibs fans, here's a little rundown:

- we signed Boyle on loan from Dundee when we were still in the Championship. He proved to be such an important player for us.

- that same season, he was part of our iconic Scottish Cup winning squad (the first time in 114 years).

- following on from that, we signed him permanently and he was a crucial part of our squad when we got promoted.

- he was then a starter for pretty much every season since then. He helped us get into Europe several times.

- when he came back after getting injured whilst on international duty with Australia, he scored. He also scored a first half hattrick against Rangers in a cup semi-final.

He's an icon and I'm so happy that he's home. Not to mention that he's a great character to have in the dressing room and the squad just seemed so upbeat and happy to have him back which is so important for morale.

Anyway, that's enough of me rambling. Enjoy a few pictures of our team from recent times :)

Elie Youan, MOTM :)

These two have the best friendship

So iconic from Hibs, recreating Trainspotting.

He's back 🤩

Last week's goal celebrations. What an away day 🤩

Jair is so cute what the heck. And David Marshall 🤩

Elias! Still low-key weird that he's only four days older than me and Nohan is six days younger 😳

Hope you enjoyed my spam :)
