The city was flying.
You didn't know why or how, but one thing you knew for sure was that Sokovia was floating up into the sky right now. It was enough to scare the hell out of you. You knew what a war could do, but this much? It seemed unthinkable. And yet, the Avengers were there, and at the same time, robots were ravaging what was left of that floating block in the air.
The screams of the civilians made you lose your mind, as you struggled to keep your mind calm, free of fear. But how could you be calm, feeling the ground shaking under your steps? You had the unpleasant sensation that at the slightest step, the ground would break and let you start a deadly fall.
You saw only one solution: hide, and hope that everything would be all right when you got out. It wasn't the bravest thing you'd ever done, but your instincts told you to take cover.
So you did. Without waiting, you hurried towards the first place that would probably protect you: the inside of an empty café. Once inside, you headed for the bar, where you decided to spend the rest of the next few minutes, crossing your fingers to survive.
And you thought you had succeeded. For a few moments, the surroundings seemed to have calmed down. As if all threat had ceased to exist. A complete calm. Both in terms of screams and attacks. Something to seriously arouse your curiosity.
Getting up from your hiding place, you hoped to see the sun shining on a city finally free of its demons. But it was the opposite. In front of you, a robot. One of the many others that had killed many of the civilians who were fleeing with you earlier. Your blood ran cold as your muscles automatically froze. What to do? No matter what you did, that machine was going to shoot you and take your life in a matter of seconds. It seemed unthinkable. But your opponent had already raised his weapon towards you and was about to shoot.
No, this time you would not make it. Your mind began to flood with memories of people you never wanted to leave that day. Your mother, your sister, even your dog, Neige. A name more than cliché, but one that you had chosen in your childhood. Your eyes were closing. Your body seemed to be getting ready to receive that bullet that would empty it of your soul.
And yet, nothing came. Not a bullet, not a blow... Once again, complete silence, before a mass came crashing to the ground. You didn't dare to look, who was it? Was it you, who had just died? A slightly silly thought, but one that made you tremble at the time.
— "You can open your eyes, there is no more danger."
A male voice declared, which seemed totally unknown to you. Then following his advice, your eyes opened, revealing then the face of a young man of your age, the silver hair scattered a little randomly on his head. This last one, whose voice seemed to you to be benevolent when you listened to him, had a good smile on his face, obviously reassured that you were fine.
— "Are you alright? Nothing broken?
— No... Happily. Thank you."
A discreet smile appeared on your face. So you weren't going to die today, which made you happy, but also appeased the man who had just saved your life. He was about to leave, but at the last moment, decided to turn towards you again, the same smile burning his face.
— "A drink, later, do you want to?" he proposed, leaving you mute for a good moment.
But you couldn't refuse such an invitation, especially from the man who had literally just saved you from certain death.
— "Y-yes. Why not.
And your answer didn't fall on deaf ears. The smile on your savior's face quickly grew as he nodded, obviously pleased to hear that he would be meeting with you.
— So I'll see you later."
He affirmed, offering you a wink before disappearing in a flash. You were seriously surprised, while you remained motionless for a moment. Many questions were burning in your mind, but two essential ones stood out. First of all, who was that man who had just left at such a speed that it messed up your hair? And second... Was he seriously inviting you for a drink while the Sokovia was floating?
