Let's get into it!

first impressions (22.5/25): I LOVE the color scheme of the cover and how you have both Tae and JK up to let readers know that it's about the two of them without having to look at the title. However, I think you could use a better font and pictures to represent your book. It looks a little unprofessional at the moment, and you want readers to get the best impression possible: people really DO judge books by their covers here. Your book comes up as one of the first people in the search results when I search the name, which is great, but there are a lot of people out there with that name, so just be mindful of that! Lastly, the description is literally so cute that I have no critiques. I love those style of descriptions and have nothing but praise for it. It gives you just the right amount of information without being overbearing while being cute at the same time. Awesome job!

grammar & sentence structure (14.5/15): I couldn't spot any egregious mistakes in grammar, save for a few commas that were in need of placing, but I only found, like, two of those spots, so you're good. A light copy edit would do for those. Sentence structure is varied and overall fantastic. It's light and doesn't bog the story down. This helps the audience engage in a story that is already culture-heavy and helps them to integrate themselves further in it. You obviously know how to write, so I'm not going to waste any more of your time telling you what you already know!

plot (28/30): Though it may look cliche on the surface, I quickly realized that it's VERY original. Firstly, the time period is not something I expected on here, because 930's isn't even during the Joseon era, which is what a lot of people know of Korean culture, so great job at representing the underbelly of my culture! I found it interesting that you fixated on the cutting of the hair and how important it is, but not only would Taehyung be ridiculed for it, he would be expected to commit suicide, since it goes against Confucianist beliefs. I think you should maybe have Taehyung try to hide his hair instead of proudly showing that he cut it. Other than that, I thought the world building was fantastic, which is really important for a story like this. I know you said it wasn't going to be historically accurate in the intro, but you had the misfortune of having a Korean as the reviewer of your book, so nothing to worry about with anyone else. You've obviously done a ton of research, anyway. The doppelgänger mystery hooked me right from the start, and I knew it wouldn't be like anything I've seen on here before. Since there are only five chapter, I can't exactly say where this story is going to go, but I love the direction it's going in so far with the mix of romance, drama, and mystery. Great job!

characters (19/20): The characters are all so friggin adorable! Taehyung is super relatable for the audience, yet isn't a self insert; he has his own thoughts and emotions. Jimin was probably my favorite character out of all of them. He's so soft and cute and ARGH! Perfection, as always. I like how you integrated the side characters in really well and that they actually have important roles in the story instead of just filling up space. It's great to see authors devote time and attention to their characters instead of letting them be on the sidelines. Jungkook is a very compelling love interest. He's the complete opposite of Taehyung, and I can see them having a very dynamic relationship. None of them fall flat for me. However, I did notice they were a tad K-drama-esque in their roles: mean mom, brooding love interest, quirky friend, grumpy guy. Since there are only five chapters, I don't know how you're going to develop them, but I'm sure you'll do a fine job!

writing style (20/20): Your writing style is perfect for this story. There were so many times you made me laugh because of something Taehyung thought in a scene, and I really love that take for a drama like this! It's both high-tension and fun, and I loved it all the way through. The description is perfect: not too much, not too little. It's hard to find a median, especially when this is so dependent on knowing the culture surrounding it, but either way, you did a great job. I have nothing else to say, honestly!

flow (8.5/10): I thought the flow was pretty decent, but don't be afraid to slow down a bit! I would really like to linger on more of Taehyung's inner turmoil and the strange surroundings that he's in. Especially the beginning, I was a tad confused as to what was happening, so maybe write a scene in which he goes down to his grandfather's place and messes with the time machine, not write it like it's after the fact, if that makes sense. Aside from that, I liked the chapter lengths and paragraph lengths and all that jazz.

total score: 112.5/120 or 93.8%!

optional advice nook: Change the cover/font, light copy editing for grammar, work on flow in the beginning, be mindful of character development to make them stand out from their archetypes.

song nook: Here are some songs I thought of while reading this! I obviously thought about Vkook, and I tried my best to find songs that were more slow-tempo, because that's kind of the vibe I got from the book. (Slow burn and all!) Hope you enjoy these!

GUYS, PLEASE CHECK THIS STORY OUT! If you like K-drama-esque plots with ancient Korean culture, drama, comedy, and hot boys, this is the perfect book for you. There's just enough fluff for the fluff-lovers of Wattpad, yet not too much for people like me who aren't all about it. This is really the perfect balance for everyone. So, seriously. Check it out. Right now. I'm not kidding.

summary: This was, by far, one of the most interesting stories I've come across on Tsuki. I don't know if I'm biased since you're writing about something I'm deeply interested in, but either way, you really deserve all the praise you can get with this book. I honestly wish there were more chapters so that I could have more to judge and read because this was truly such a joy tor read. The plot was original, and paired with the writing style and characters, it remains something that is truly unique. I really hope you get the recognition you deserve with this book.

Aaaand... that's it for the review! Comments, questions, concerns, please let me know. We're coming to the home stretch with this round! Get pumped!
