2. "Words"
I guess you could say that I was slightly intrigued by the boy who was watching me.
I spent almost all evening thinking about him and whether or not he was fine, maybe he got sick or maybe that bus stop had a special meaning to him.
Either way, he was quite mysterious. The thunderstorm came back a couple of hours later and I spent the majority of the night sitting by the window, watching the lightings hit the ground.
Even if I did only get a few hours of sleep, I was energetic the next morning and determined to do something. It was monday, and I was dying to try out that pizza cake.
I knew that opening my closet and looking for clothes would be pointless, they're all black and same. Maybe apart from that one white t-shirt and blue ripped jeans. Maybe I should just go with that.
I found them hidden in a drawer and a few minutes later I was all dressed up and ready to go. Breakfast wasn't important and something tastier was awaiting me.
I didn't rush at all, I saw no point in it. I wanted to enjoy the freedom as much as possible, I'm starting school soon anyway. New school, new people, new teachers... I wasn't ready at all. As a matter of fact, I preferred staying at home and playing the piano instead.
It took me around 15 minutes to reach that outstanding neon sign again. I opened the door and was hit by a warm atmosphere and an indescribable aroma.
Normally a person would notice all the pizzas and such first, but what I noticed was the same boy from the previous day sitting in the far corner of the pizzeria.
I chose the table that was the furthest away from him. Why? I wouldn't know what to say if he suddenly spoke to me. Maybe he doesn't remember me, that would be great.
I ordered a pizza and waited, I took out my phone and started scrolling through my instagram, looking at all pictures that my old classmates had posted. Parties, girls, vacations, dates... I was a bit envious.
"Hello" suddenly a voice spoke right next to me. I looked up and saw that it was the same guy that I was trying to avoid.
"H-Hey..." I stuttered, that's bad.
"Sorry for appearing so suddenly. You're new it in town, right?" his voice wasn't low or high, it was the perfect middle, he seemed to have some accent, but maybe it's just my imagination. He spoke loudly and with confidence.
"Yeah.. I am" my voice, on another hand, was quiet. I wasn't used to talking to strangers and I could feel my anxiety kicking in.
"Well, I'm Bokuto Koutarou. Sorry for yesterday, I was kinda lost in my own world and probably ended up accidentally staring at you" he laughed, his laugh is cute. That kinda lifted a few pebbles off my chest.
"I'm Akaashi Keiji... And it's fine..." as the time went by my stress levels kept rising.
"We're neighbours so let's talk later!" Bokuto exclaimed before walking away. As soon as he walked out I felt a wave of relief was over me.
My heart was still beating like crazy, but at least my stress went down and I could eat my pizza in peace. Little did I know that probably the last time my day would go by peacefully.
