Mush was a pretty happy person, always trying to be optimistic. One of the things he was fairly optimistic about was you finally agreeing to go out with him. You had the biggest crush on him, but you would not let him flirt his way to a date with you, you wanted a good, sentimental asking, and so yoy always say no. It was the running joke in the newsies lodge, so when Mush declared that it was, in fact, the day, they all laughed, Skittery and Jack offtering input.
